Is there any way to record in slow motion using CyanogenMod 12.1? It's the only feature that I miss from the stock ROM
I don't care if it's an app, a flashable zip or stuff, but it may be easier than switching between CM and the Stock ROM every time I want to record

Flash the Arsenic Kernel after flashing the ROM and gapps. It will boot then with a smooth Nougat experience. I've flashed 3 nightlies since using the same routine.
,Camera Zoom effects is great (CM 14.1 nightly with blackreactor kernel). I just dumped Open camera very poor in comparsion with ZOOM

So I was wondering if there was a better ROM than MIUI that I could flash on the Redmi note 3 .I'm currently using a unlocked rooted rn3 with MIUI 8.1.1.0 .I kinda like the ROM but I want a change . If there's a well optimized and lag free rom than the MIUI please suggest.
I like the cynogen ones and had tried them,But I wanna know the best ROM I could get for this device. Thanks in advance ?
You can try RR Remix Rom or any AOSP based Rom for lag free performance and also as daily driver. Actually there are lots of ROM for our device you can try yourself and find out which satisfies your needs. Best of luck.

RR Remix Rom based on android 6 (MM) is good and stable for daily driver & we too have RR Remix Rom based on android 7.1 (Nougat) but it has some bugs. So you can give it a try. For me I'm getting good battery life on Nexus Rom so right now its my daily driver. But it depends upon one's preference if you want features and customization RR Remix is best but if you want Stock android with lag free performance and battery life AOSP based Roms are good. Do check out the links below.

I have heard the CM13 being stable and many people using it as their daily driver.
was using MM RR 5.7.4 rom for a few months now but now i went back miui with xiaomi.eu rom. i missed a lot of useful features which arent there in RR. like the good gallery app, call recorder, recorder app, good camera app, scanner app and so on. if you dont care about those dann i can recommend 5.7.4 ... but i only got 6h SOT with tha rom. with MIUI without any problems i get 8-10h SOT

There is no best rom, lot of them are great and you can't really choose one that is best one of them. There are lots of people using AICP, NitrogenOS, RR, maybe AOSIP. You can check the most popular ones and see which one you like most and which performs best for you.

There is no any nougat rom without camera fc or torch but it's rather rare

I am on latest rr 5.8.1. Torch toggle has been fixed. You can use google camera app or one plus camera app which run smooth, tho stock camera works fine for me.
I think I found a ROM for me the RR 5.8.0 cynogen based . I found it pretty smooth than the lineageos based one but the only problem I'm facing now is the VoLTE feature .I'm in dire need of that feature cause I'm using jio cellular network , and I tried some patches which didn't do the job. If anyone has a working patch or a cynogen based ROM with volte please direct me . thanks in advance again .and thank you for all the replies

R u using this Rom with any kernel or stock kernel ? And On RR 5.6.4 + Lineage Os (MM) there is a 2% battery drop bug. so is it there in nexus rom too or not. Thanks

I am using stock kernel & there is no 2% bug . Its a good Rom for daily use.

I am OPX user here.
I flashed RR( Resurrection Remix) 5.8.3 ROM about 3 weeks ago.
I am really impressed tweaks provided in RR 5.8.3 & became fan of it.
However i feel that default camera app of OOS is much better than that of default camera app of RR 5.8.3.
Is there any way so that i can port default camera app of OOS to RR 5.8.3. ?

I went through as per your suggestion of flashing oos 3 camera zip file.
However as per its thread its mentioned that

While my flashed RR 5.8.3 is based on Android 7.1.2.

Vertex and nitrogen are compatible with oos 3 cam. Try them or ask yiur rom dev to make the rom compatible with oos cam

I use MoOS as my daily driver and I wish to switch to Sultan's ROM for the camera enhancements...The problem is I do not know much about it at all...Please do help me out...
1) Is it possible to use OOS cam app on it? If yes,does beauty mode work?
2)Are there any bugs?
3)hows the battery life?
If beauty mode doesn't work...Please do suggest me another ROM in which beauty mode works on the OOS camera app....ASAP ....Your help would mean a lot to me
I wouldn't use sultans ROM personally because all development has stopped for it, meaning you'll miss any any security fixes
If you really want to still then :
1) you can flash OOS camera but I doubt the extra modes work. I know panorama definitely is broken in it.
2) no bugs. It's a very good ROM.
3) Battery life was excellent for me. Best of any ROM I've used, including OOS.

Which version are you talking about :
The OOOOOLLD one (CM13) or the unofficial Sultan's LOS 14 ?
Edit : on some newest roms, tweaks have been done from Sultan's HAL with OOS blobs and the result is quite good. But all versions have manual control broken.
On any ROM you flash, you can try the OP5 camera port from OPO (bacon) which is beautiful and fonctionnal

As for another ROM, I'm using JDC rom at the moment. It's just AOSP, which isn't for everyone but everything works and it ships with OOS camera.
No sultan enhancements though.
