Great watch but can not see it when outdoors.
Is there a builtin app to correct this or are there better apps available to be able to use the watch outdoors?

Its an AMOLED screen without high brightness like those from Samsung. Try high contrast watch faces. Other parts of the OS can't be helped - you can't have the advantages of Amoled without the downsides.

Thanks for the comment but I am having difficulty finding a "high contrast watch faces" since that term has not been seen by me. Could please recommend one. I am just interested a standard looking face that I can read outdoors. Help?
Many watch faces can be customized to your liking. I use pujie black and instaweather back and forth. Instaweather has a white face with black lettering. I seem to see it fine in direct sunlight (brightness on 4). Pujie you can do whatever you like, color the background and clocks and widgets any color.

Great! Thanks for the info. I will look at these and pick one because I would like to wear my watch during the day when outside. Currently can not do it because of some work I do, I need to be able to tell time. Hope that soon OK Google can respond in voice.

Sorry to be such a pain but now that I have Pujie, I am having a little problem with the "learning curve". Have you used any of the pre-sets that work in the daylight and if so could you pass that on to me. Right now it is just a hit and miss with mostly misses.
No I don't play with presets much myself but here is my watch face set to contrast for active display if you want something to get you started and play with:

Many thanks for your help. Have been wearing my watch daily. Did make some size modifications which helped me. But I have been on the mid brightness level and it works in sunlight. Great!

So I have flashed to the latest International version of ICS and of course now have the option of either standard or high resolution. I use Pocket Informant and noticed that in standard resolution it comes up like a phone but in high resolution it comes up like it should for a tablet. When I was running the stock T Mobile build it always came up in tablet mode. Just what are the differences between the two other than the obvious. Also is anybody using Nova launcher? I used it on my phone while playing with ICS with no problems but with the tablet it won't let me place any widgets. It just tells me that their isn't enough room on the screen.
Kirby
Can't say much in the way of "other then the obvious" but yes, I saw that with several apps and launchers. In standard it reacts more like a phone. Some apps I couldn't even install because the resolution wasn't supported. When I switch to high everything worked as expected, as on a tablet. Those apps I couldn't install before then installed just fine.
After switching I noticed a definitely change in speed, but either I've gotten used to it or it corrected itself after a bit.
So I take it that you are runniing in high res mode all of the time?

Yeah. Like it much better. Icons and thinks look a little blurry in standard. I just took two screen shots between the two, same launcher and background setup. Standard indeed just looks like a smaller screen scaled up... and blurred.
I like high but with apps that are not tablet specific you can run into the issue of teeny tiny text being difficult to read.
How do I turn on hi res mode?

There should be a zoom mode icon near the clock on the status bar that allows you to zoom the the app to full screen.
Also have you checked under Settings --> Display --> Font Sise and set it to Large or Huge?

What is the smearing issue?
Our lovely SGS4 Super AMOLED screens are the first kind to completely turn off pixels when true black is showing...
Previous generation AMOLED screens used on the SGS1,2 & 3 devices kept power to black pixels which could be seen in a very dark room as a faint glow on areas of screen showing black.
So we now have true black screens with switched off pixels which is a GOOD thing... Am I right?
Well in theory yes but you have probably noticed a fairly annoying flaw when this is put into practice. The pixels take time to turn back on so whenever a grey or dark object moves across the screen against a black background the image will "Smear" due to this pixel switch-on delay.
How does this app fix this?
It's very simple and not a true fix. The app creates a nearly transparent white overlay covering the screen. This will make blacks a very dark grey which you will find hard to notice but it is enough to prevent pixels from switching off since true black is eliminated.
Use the Smear Fix app to launch the overlay and the Kill Smear Fix app to remove it. Simple!
Quick Guide
#1 install the "Kill smear fix app first
#2 install the "Smear Fix V1.4 app
#3 When you launch the app there is NO ui interfaace. The app with create a nearly invisible overlay which will cover the entire screen.
#4 The app WILL auto start on boot UNLESS you have killed it previously using the Kill app.
#4 The Kill App will remove the overlay AND prevent the main app restating on reboot. The control file for this is "smearfix" stored at the root of your SD memory.
IMPORTANT: This app has just one known issue/bug/quirk which is the same you will find for ALL overlay/screen filter type apps so I can't fix it.
When the app is running you WILL NOT be able to install any apps manually. The install button just won't respond. You will have to use the kill app to undo the fix to remedy this.
ROOT NOT REQUIRED!!
Install the Kill App BEFORE you install the main overlay app
V1.2>>> Kill app now properly kills the main app and service.
V1.3>>> Fixed landscape overlay
V1.4>>> Made overlay 1080x1920 properly this time. USES LESS RESOURCES TO RUN!!

Holy mother of God it actually works perfectly.
This is cool and all, but one major draw back is that, when this app is running, you are not able to touch the INSTALL button when say restoring an app via titanium.
I have this same problem with the app called Screen Adjuster (which basically does the same thing, just by slightly changing the RGB values to make the smearing go away). The plus side to that app is it has a toggle to turn it off quickly.
Seems to be working, thanks for the fix!
Nice

I have found and app called Holo Driod info which is a live background with a futristic look.It has a Compass, and gives info about your system. It does not require root. The picture below is my setup. I am using Nova launcher with a custom Icon pack called Gel. Hope this helps anyone finding a good background!

Awesome wall paper! One thing i noticed is if you have a "Smart Cover" the ones with the magnetic sensor that turns screen on and off it throws the compass off on it. Kinda crazy actually lol

For me you lose about 5 to 15 minutes of battery life.
This looks straight out of Doom 3 haha. Very cool, I might try it sometime later, for now I'm using Frazetta fantasy art wallpaper and just drooling over the gorgeous screen colors

Uninstall icon pack, and the driod info background app.
This topic is for the watchfaces developed for the facer app.. Though there is already a repo but many of them aren't optimized or out of shape when installed on GW..to start with I have added few faces..
#download on post4 (both versions)#
Do you have this available for download?
Pretty easy to resize things
Here you go..!!
renames the extension from .face to .zip
To use this you need to rename it back to .face and use it.
cool faces, I hope to contribute to this thread when I get mine.

On phone
one more watch face
Black with hard font
day&night
This face will change the background based on the time of the day.
Till 6pm thr background will be white and at night it changes to black.
The font colors are chosen to have good contrast on both backgrounds.

Is there any way to configure the color and duration of notification led? i try using light manager pro and light flow... but nothing happen i mean the test inside these apps works but when i receive some real notification are the one from stock. Green led and 3 seconds delay :crying:
im on MM
Afaik nope.
I use light flow and it works really good.

seems to work on Lollipop
I use different colors settings from apps like whatsapp, aquamail,... and it works really good. I have no problem with different timing and different colors. I observed sometimes that it changes color if I have notifications from different apps.

Also i have light flow...and it manages the notification well...but the colors are wrong...for example orange it's red, or gold it's also red...it seems that purple or pink don't work at all...can you confirm? Or have you some settings that probably i'm missing?

Yes that is same for me, but I only use white, blue, red, green and that color is working correct.
When I should use yellow it's be red, so I chose a light blue instead of yellow.
Maybe honor 7 doesn't support all color.

Thanks for the quick answer mate.. The honor has an rgb led then it should handle all colors.. Maybe the problem it's lightflow.. I'm curious to know if someone who rooted the phone has installed light flow and how it works
Inviato dal mio PLK-L01 utilizzando Tapatalk
I rooted my phone and tried the "root mode" in lightflow unfortunately nothing changes...
How to add notifications for facebook? twitter etc... I tried Light manager and it doesn't seem to work....
I have been testing which colours are supported by the Honor 7 with LED Tester and so far I managed to get these working:
- Yellow
- Orange (visible when charging but not reproduce-able with LED Tester)
- Green
- Baby Blue (Cyan)
- Dark Blue
- Pink (Magenta)
- Purple
- Red
- White
In Bluemail you can set a different LED colour for each account and green/red/cyan are working fine but for some reason all the yellows I pick turn out red or green. I've been testing with hex codes and it seems some hex codes get a different colour for some reason.
I wish we had an official list of what colours (hex codes) are supported by the LED. What would be even better if EMUI would get its own built-in LED manager with an option to set the blinking speed. I agree that 3 seconds is too long, especially since the LED is so deep in the grill and hard to spot.
Has anyone cracked this problem yet?
I came across one, a root app called led manager, as I recall it worked

I checked about theming and how to do it but again laziness, was wondering if there was a solution already available without me doing anything...
unfortunateli it is not easy to change the BG color.
As i know, sometimes it is possible to use dark themes to do that for you. But this only work if somebody have insert a color description for your app into this theme file!
Try this one -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p8/themes/theme-black-pyramid-emui-4-0-4-1-t3410407 to see how it work.
But in most cases, something other will get a wrong color.
You only can change colors using a special xml file in your app or in theme file (.hwt for Honor themes)
