Check the capacity of the chargers.
The original M-charger has a capacity of 1,6 A at 5V. You can use any charger with at least that capacity.

Thanks. However, i also wanted to know the experience of existing users with these chargers, including power issues etc. I think I saw somewhere that the micro USB side of a quick charger melted when it was kept on in the power socket?

Get the Aukey one, it has a really really good review rate at Amazon. It also should come with a cable so you shouldn't be worried about that one.

I prefer wireless charging for my N4 and N6.
I am using cheap QI-chargers on several places. The QI-pads can be used with almost any USB charger. Of course wireless charging is slow.
I'm thinking of going with the Tronsmart WC1Q as it is cheap and has good Amazon reviews. I'm not really technical when it comes to chargers. This is the technical info: 5V/2.1A 9V/2A 12V/1.5A. Can anyone confirm if the power details of this charger will be fine with Nexus 6?

I recommend the aukey as well, I used it for my moto x 2nd gen and now my Nexus 6.
I got a Aukey one, and it's really great
In my experience and from others Anker makes good products might want to check into them. And a good charging cable is just as important.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
I have an Aukey and a Tronsmart. Both work well. Strangely enough, the quality of your USB cable also appears to play a legitimate role in whether Quick Charge2.0 is consistently recognized and used. In other words, high quality charger AND high quality cable is recommended!
just want to ask if there is any correlation between using QC chargers & getting a bloated battery?

Most important is the 5V/2.1A. This is better than the original Motorola charger I have.
The other values are for Quick charging.
Also better than the original charger.
But I don't know if this Tronsmart is compatible with the quick charging mode of Motorola.

Not at all... the phone is made to be compatible with QC. You can even use the QC charger with a phone that doesn't support it, what will happen is that the charger won't activate the QC and just charge at normal speed.

As long as it is Qualcomm 2.0 Certified it is supposed to work. Motorola's "turbo charge" is just a rebranded Qualcomm 2.0 Quick Charge.
I have just tried the Aukey in your list with my N6 and it did not work as a fast charger even tough the specs of the charger says so. to get the N6 to charge at QC2 you will need a charger with 9V 2A or at least 1.6A to reach approximately 14.4 watt.
many chargers do have the said specs but they won't recognize the N6 as a fast charging phone unfortunately. meanwhile still searching

Sent from my HUAWEI NXT-L29 using XDA-Developers mobile app
I use this one and it works perfectly for me. It has an LED that changes color depending on whether it is in normal charging or fast charging mode. Unfortunately, I don't think it is on your list.
Fred
I am getting a kind of a weird experience this end. I use my Huawei quick charger of the mate 8, and it is only recognized by the Motorola Nexus 6 as a fast charger after I reboot the mobile then it starts charging at 9.15 V and 1.36 Amps. it does fast charge at this volt and amps at highs of 2240 mAps on Ampere application !!
I could not figure out another way to get the charger to recognize the Nexus 6 as a fast charging phone except by rebooting, and still working on it. in the meantime I have ordered a Choetech QC 3.0 and waiting for arrival. my question does this happen on your chargers or does it connect directly to 9V when connected to chargers like Aukey, Tronsmart, Anker etc. ??
Guys, is it normal that the phone get heated like an iron box when charging ? ( Well I noted that this happens only if my battery is below 50-60% ) Using Stock charger. Same happens (heating, but temperature is lower than before) even when I use One+ charger.
I have the powercore+, works fine on my s7 edge, on my new s8 it only shows 'cable charging', not fast charging. Any ideas?

Not just different cable, make sure to try with the OEM cable first.
If it doesn't work, this is mine and it works pretty well. I tested it on S7, Note 7, S8+ and also use it to charge my Nintendo Switch through USB-C.

Yup, tried it with the OEM cable and third party cables... Thanks for that link - seems a little big in comparison, but will check it out!
Same here. Tested with original cable and Aukey USB 3.0 cable. Doesn't work. However, use Wall Charger with the same cable does work with quick charge.
Make sure to charge your phone sparingly or youll kill the battery cell life faster shorter charges throughout the day is healthier for the battery, and considering its a nonremovable battery this is a must know.
I was going to say, "Make sure you have fast cable charging enabled." But, fast charging doesn't work on my Anker Powercore + 26800 . Not much of a bummer to me as I've had the powercore for quite some time now, but I'd like to see the S8's technology used to its potential.
Hey guys, so i got the anker powerport speed 2 and it works fine. Here is the link to the one I have. By fine, I mean it fast charges.

I think it's more that older model doesn't support quick. charging with the USB c , I just ordered xiaomi power bank 2 because it's confirmed to quick charge with s8
My QC 3.0 wall chargers both reported fast charging, but QC 2.0 doesn't (Car charger, powercore+). Perhaps they change the definition of quick charge to QC 3.0?
I'm curious as to exactly which batteries you're trying, and are you sure the cable is plugged into a port that supports QC2 or QC3?
We had a discussion a while ago about batteries... see -> https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/accessories/external-batteries-t3582498
Short version... the the stock USB-A to USB-C cable that came in the box with my Verizon GS8+ (Snapdragon processor) works to quick charge with the following batteries and chargers (Phone indicates FAST CHARGING).....
older Anker Powercore+ 10050 (which supports QC2 output on its single port) They have since released an upgraded model that supports QC3
The QC2 port on my Anker PowerPort 6+ (it was QC2 when I purchased in January, and they have upgraded the model they are selling now to support QC3).
the QC2 port on my Aukey 10400 battery w/QC2 support on its single port.
Tronsmart 5 Port USB charger w/QC2 support on every port
The QC3 port on my Anker PowerPort 2 (the PowerIQ port doesn't support QC2 or 3)
The QC3 port on my RAVPower 20100mAh battery. Of course using the battery's USB-C port and a USB C to USB C cable, it does not fast charge. Using the "Smart 2.4A" port also doesn't fast charge. (that is expected because the "smart" and USB-C ports do not support QC2/3).
It also works with Choetech USB-A to C cables, and Anker USB-A To C cables
I just got a Verizon Galaxy S8... It acts the same as the GS8+. All of the above works as expected.

Dumb question I know, but I gotta ask... Anker's listed for the PowerCore+ 26800 on their web site -> https://www.anker.com/products/A1374011 indicates it only supports QC on ONE of the 3 USB ports. Are you plugged into the right port?

Yeah I'm using the correct port. Anker color codes which ports support QC. I noted that my Anker PowerDrive +2 fast charges the S8 with the same cable I used for my PowerCore+. So I did a little research.
The PowerDrive+ 2 supports QC 3.0. The PowerCore+ 26800 being sold on Anker's website supports QC 3.0 as well. I guess I have the older gen of the PowerCore+ 26800 because it's labeled as QC 2.0.
My assumption is that Samsung Fast Charging is compatible with QC 3.0.

Well, my Samsungs (S6, Note 5, S6 Edge+, S7, S8, S8+, and Tab S3) do quick charge with my QC2 stuff... as well as my QC3 stuff. So if your Anker supports QC2 output, it should fast charge the GS8.
hmm.... No idea why it doesn't.
(I know some of the Anker PowerCore and PowerCore+ support QC only on input, to charge the powercore itself, but not output which can get really confusing, and is my only beef with Anker's products... that isn't the case here though)
EDIT: Sorry, the Galaxy Tab S3 only fast charges with my chargers/batteries that support QC3.
I also have a Anker PowerCore+ with Quick charger 2.0 and it does not fast charge my S8+. I also have a CHOETECH with Quick charger 2.0 and it does not fast charger my S8+

Do you have a Snapdragon based S8+? I'm guessing Yes, since you are marked with Sprint. (I ask because I don't know how fast charging on the Exynos chip based phones works)
Which model PowerCore+? This is where Anker gets confusing... For example, the PowerCore+ 13400mAh supports QC2/3 to re-charge itself, but doesn't output QC, it only outputs the standard 5/2.4A . If that is the one you have, it wont fast charge the S8/S8+. And this PowerCore+ 20100mAh doesn't support QC at all (for input or output). Same with the PowerCore+ Mini which only supports 5v/1A input and output. So they wont Fast Charge the S8/S8+ either.
Where as the PowerCore+ 10050mAh recharges itself at the standard 5v/2A, but DOES Output QC3 (the original model was QC2 when first released). This one SHOULD Fast Charge the S8/S8+ (from experience, I can say mine does). The PowerCore+ 26800 only supports QC3 on a single designated port, so using that port, it should Fast Charge the S8/S8+. (I don't have this battery, so I can't confirm)
With reports of unable to Fast Charge using these QC2/QC3 batteries and chargers... I wonder if Samsung got something messed up in the phones? (I remember having issues with older Motos and my QC2 stuff... where the Motos didn't charge properly but my Samsungs did). Or could it be firmware/rom related from different carriers? Like mine is Verizon and works, and yours is Sprint...

It "WILL" not support Quick Charge 4.0
It supports Quick Charge 4.0 out of the box. Just get yourself a QC 4.0 charger and you are set. The bundled one is QC 3.0
I tried to get my head around the difference between QC 3 and 4 and was left unclear about the benefit of getting a QC 4 charger - they appeared pretty much the same standards.
Added to which I couldn't find any QC 4 chargers on Amazon.
Can anyone with a better understanding of this put me right?
Thanks

Hi, thanks for that link - very helpful.
My follow-up question would be, where can you get a QC 4.0 charger, since Amazon just returns QC 3 ones. I found a link to a Qualcomm list of QC 4.0 devices - pretty obscure brand names.
Are they a real thing?

Hi Ruvy, I'm not sure, but I think that's a 4Amp charger. It's dash charge compatible (OnePlus' proprietary standard) but doesn't mention Quick Charge anywhere
I'd be very surprised (from what I've read) if it is compatible with QC 4 well (though at that price I'd love to be proved wrong!)
Same here, looking to buy a QC 4.0 charger, because the poco F1 battery is kinda huge and faster charge speed would be welcomed.

that's borderline impossible. it charges 1% in 1min upto 90%. then slows down to about 1% in 2mins.
I don't have any idea how you got those obscure speeds.
It does charge crazy fast, though maybe not quite that quick. With the QC 3 charger it's always full after an hour and a half on charge (though it's never below 10%).
I have mine on a Budi 2A timer/charger. I set it to charge for 2 hrs at bedtime then if needed I top it up in the morning (so it doesn't sit at 100% for too long)
I'll report proper charging time tomorrow. I actually remember charging it at almost 8:45 in the morning (I was sleepy) and removing it at almost 9:50. I was sleepy, so maybe I got the timing wrong.

You can use the magnetic charger with a quick charge charger or any other charger and it will be fine.
I'm using a Samsung Fast Charger and have no issues, the device still charges full overnight and it's pretty quick, just not as quick as the OEM set up.
Ok I still have a quick charger from my Nexus 6, but don't know how it has scaled throughout the years in terms of what's considered "quick".
I used more then one year magnetic cable from Wsken on OP 5T. It has only charge, no data. And I have no issue, heating, damages. But in this case I don't have a supercharge. I have charge current about 1.3- 1.4 ampers.

If you use just the cable and not the OEM block it doesn't cause heating issues, I get heating issues if I use the OEM block with the wsken cable. It happens periodically so not sure what causes it.
If you use the Wsken mini2 +j OnePlus cable + wsken adapter dash charge will work. So will data transmission.

Most of the 100W rated cables should be fine.
They're doing 20Volts x 5 Amps = 100W.

O i see. The one in the question is 140W. Why wouldn't it be at least 5A ?
You could have bought the 45 watt Samsung for that kind of money. It even comes with the proper cable. Guaranteed to provide you with fast charging 2.0.

With PD3.1 also 48V is possible. 140W will then only require 2.9A...

I would buy Anker's charger ANY day over Samsung's stock charger. (I actually use Anker's GAN charger)
Stock OEM cables are garbage and break easily, plus they're usually SHORT.
Guaranteed work if you know what you're buying.

Thats the thing, so many brands CLAIM that it supports SuperFast Charging 2.0, at least 45 watt for chargers and at least 100W charging for cables, but actually tested, its just 25 watt at best. This is frustrating.

I bought the Samsung 45 watt charger when my overpriced Anker GAN died after 7 months use.
PS. the included cable with the Samsung charger is pretty decent.

Using Anker the past 7 years. Still have two of their chargers I bought 5 years ago.
Check the failure rate of stock OEM Samsung chargers vs third party like Anker. lel

So I tested the UGREEN charger (mentioned in question) with a genuine SAMSUNG 5A cable. Still not getting SuperFast Charging 2.0.....what is going on ?!
It could be cable issue. I have a baseus charger 65w and bought a separate baseus 100w cables because I want longer cable. This combo only show super fast charge without 2.0. Surprisingly when I use the short cable that comes along the charger it show 2.0. Sorry for bad English. Hope this help you.

I have no idea about UGREEN charger. But I just want to clarify that the cable I use comes with baseus charger not the Samsung cable that come in the box. Maybe I will try Samsung cable to see if it provides the 2.0 or not.
