Hi, Im missing universal remote on Note 4. There is Peel remote but it does not contain my VIDO TV and there is no function to just place buttons on layout and map them with original tv remote like on LG Gx phones... is there any 3rd party app that allows it? Cant find one...
Don't know the answer but try this one. It may program with original remote?

ok, I will try ir right now. On LG G2/G3 I had I could just make layout of buttons and point original TV remote to map each button.
Ok, I tried it but not good :/ It has function to record your own remote but its like phone does not receive beam from original remote :/ when select other TV from list e.g. Samsung, everything works :/ maybe note 4 does not has function to receive beam like lg g2/g3 ? :/

In my opinion Peel remote is the best. I am using a JVC 32" tv, only volume and power works at default configuration. But u can troubleshoot the button values. Mine is working at 3rd set of values for the channel change and numbers.

I want a remote to control an android phone via a device like the targus bluetooth laser for mac. So far I've only seen software to control a pc via an android.
click for screen capture software:
So far I read screenshot er, picme, dropcap2 and ShootMe are screen capture applications for android. Which would allow use of a "hot key" to automate the screen capture of android to an automatically enumerated file in a pre-determined folder?
My whole intent is to either get a clicker or at least a bt mouse to automate a screen capture on the android to be saved to a unique file on the android sd.
I have paired that remote with my phone and it works but does not stay connected. It may be a problem with the stock Charge bt software. Maybe there is way to write a script to take a screenshot when a key from the remote is sent.

Why don't you take a look at our product demo which does the exact thing you want and more? It's called SlideCinch, find out more at www.slidecinch.com
Sorry for the plug!
Hi,
Does anyone know if the ir remote app supports macros(aka: Activities).
If you are aquainted with the Harmony remotes you know what I'm talking about.
E.g. Activity "Watch TV" would do:
1.Turn TV on
2.Turn Set Top Box on
3. Set correct TV input
4. etc. etc...
Another thing, and sorry if this has been answered already.. Can we also control PS3 with the remote app?
Hi,
I have a harmony remote too, but there's currently no option in the tablet remote software to set up events (switch on tv, switch on amp, turn tv channel to hd1, for example). It's a straight remote control app. Hopefully this might change in future updates?
The ps3 uses bluetooth, and this remote is infra-red, so this native app cant control it. Maybe through an iv-bluetooth decoder, but not straight from the box.
No. The remote software is the simplest remote function. It does not support activies.
I read somewhere though that you can have it learn the macro when you use the learning feature. It can learn the commands from your remote, and it was mentioned that macro can be learned as well. Will test it later on tonight....

Any luck with this?
IR activities alternative
I found this workaround on the US Sony Forum.
forum.sel.sony.com/viewtopic.php?f=107&t=11159
Still need to check it out myself.
Sorry can not post URL (just yet)
Grtz
I was also disappointed that it didn't recognise my Panasonic Air Conditioner Ir remote.
In this day and age it's also amazing that it doesn't have a link to an online library of remotes people have already taught it...
Any devs out there... that's my wish list... oh yeah maybe a night vision app that uses the IR as a night light
The remote can learn any sort of remote cntroller. I've used the tablet to learn my York Air-con and my fan. It works for both of them.It takes time to learn the remote function. You have to try several times.
Its the best tablet so far.
My goal here is to make an EASY to use display for people be able to read DOC, PDF, XLS files.
Here is what I want to use:
1. Rikomagic MK802 III
2. Logitech T650 touchpad
3. 1080P 52" LG TV. (We already own this)
4. Office/PDF app such as: Kingsoft Office, or Easy PDF reader
I plan to connect the MK802 to the tv then install the touch pad (in the available USB slot) and have people use the touchpad to "flip" through files.
In my mind it seems simple enough but some questions I have are:
A. Does anyone know a way to lock android into a "demo mode" of sorts. Where only one app is accessible and the screen stays on?
B. Has anyone used the logitech touchpad T650?
C. Any better app suggestions? Keeping in mind easy is the key.
Just found a cool app that will take care of the demo mode that I want:
KioWare Kiosk Mode Software
On the MK808 custom software, you can disable the navigation keys... essentially keeping from anyone escaping. It is possible to bring back the navigation and exit but not at first glance...
Not sure how you could do this. Maybe a tasker sequence to check if XYZ app is running else launch XYZ. So even if someone did exit, it would relaunch.
Combination of both?

did it work?
Hi, did the Logitech Touchpad work?
I tried the newest MK 802 (8G, bluetooth) with Apple Magic Trackpad and it did not work - no mouse movements, no clicks.
This might be of use to you, Smart Protector. I've used it in conjunction with launchers that can hide icons to stop anyone from messing about with the setup.
Hay guys
I was wondering if there are any good applications which would make use of the IR blaster on my HTC ONE
for example TV remote control apps
because i searched the net and couldn't find any good app that works with HTC ONE'S IR Blaster

I'm just using the included "TV" app and it's working excellent. Not only does it give you Remote functionality, but also will pull in your provider's channel guides/listing for your viewing pleasure
irdroid or androidirc,
you can google it ,to find the right site to download, i did'nt find any application in google play

Honestly, Sense TV app that comes with the phone, does a real good decent job as a Remote app.

OP's question is still relevant. Until we have market apps that utilize the IR blaster, this is yet another feature that's dependent upon using a Sense-laden ROM.
Look up peel on the playstore... I haven't used it yet but it's supposedly used with devices with an ir port.

Ha gave a link anyway...
I'm looking for alternatives too, the built in App doesn't support my denon receiver and I can't seem to figure out how to tell the remote I want to use the menu button on my TV sometimes and not my DVR.
Not sure of any apps, but there are workarounds to your problems. Create completely separate remotes for your devices when you don't want overlap, or if it's just one button that overlaps you can map that to one of the buttons on the HTC remote app that you aren't using (for me, that's the "." button on the number pad).
Will the remote app still not support your receiver if you do it the hard way (programming each button)? Or is just that you would rather not have to go through that (understandable).

I'd rather not have to program each button. I'm longing for the Harmony folks releasing a remote app. Activity based remotes are awesome.
I'm actually looking for an app that will mimic the Apple Remote so that I can control my Macbook with it.
I am just looking for an app that will skip all the programming BS and just left me use it as a remote. I don't have any service as I use 100% streaming and downloading for my content. Also simple functions like power/input take extra button presses. Should be much easier than it is.

The problem with this is it requires a separate hub and doesn't make use of the built-in IR blaster. I too yearn for a Harmony-like app that makes use of my IR blaster...

the ir blaster prbly will never work on asop. it is missing the required drivers for it.
I had a look at one of these at lunchtime and I have to say, I'm impressed. I am particularly intrigued with the remote feature and I just wondered if this scenario is possible. Would I be able to link it to my Sky box and then set on screen buttons for the channels I wanna watch so I would have a button for BBC One HD (141) for instance.
Would that be possible?
Thanks in advance

Does your sky box have a remote? If there isn't a built in profile you can use the remote to teach the commands to the Sony remote and create your macro for the channel you want

OK, yes it has a remote. There seems to be very little information available on this. Does nobody use it for this feature?
