Dear all.
I've observed that before updating, my mobile phone (S3 Galaxy i9300) becomes unstable: it works slowly and restart itself easily once at day. During these last days, I had about 15 uptates (at a rate of 2-3 per day), and now it is working smoothly and it's been 3 days with no restarts.
Does this make any sense? Why having old apps without updating causes this bad behavior?
Best regards.
I forgot to mention:
- Android 4.3 (samsung original and not rooted)
- I have disable all the bloatware: ChatOn, Chrome, Dropbox, Dropbox OOBE, Game Hub, Google Play Kiosko, Google Play Music, Google+, Hangouts, Play Games, TalkBack, Yahoo! Finance and Yahoo! News.

There's sme app causing instability.
Only solution for this is to hard reset your phone. Install all the apps you have now from playstore and wait for some time between installs and observe what app is causing this issue. Revert back after finding out the app and I'll help you sorting out.
You really have to root and de-bloat all the Samsung junk, I had the same problem with B-T-noot themed roms so I came back to stock 4.3 with Greenify, BBS (to monitor wakelocks), no Xposed, and no bloatware, handles light multitasking smoothly for 3 days with no restart.
I own an S6Edge that I only use outside work (Games, music, browsing and stuff) and an Exynos SGS3 for sms, mms, email, calls, and stuff, and I have to say in 3 years of owning this phone no rom has give me a smooth and stable experience as a stock 4.3 or back-to-noot.
The rogue behaviour will be caused by the google framework. When it updates the api it needs to update google apps to accommodate changes.

I'll root it and clean it up of any bloatware or Xposed, and i will se the result.
By the way, What do you mean by google framework?, do you refer to Google Play Services?

yes, it is
as long as you didn't delete playstore
I just had to uninstall/disable Google+ app to get rid of the annoying "Google Photos" app. I think the "auto awesome" is feature is f****** stupid. I just spent an hour crawling through my /system/app directory looking for the package to delete as root, after I found out that it wasn't easily disabled/uninstalled like any regular app.
I can't wait until Ubuntu mobile is more stable. When it is, I am ditching Android. I'm tired of how companies like Google, Amazon, Facebook, etc., all want to snoop on every bit of your private photos, emails, text messages, etc. They all want to be your "one and only" application, and that's unrealistic.
Sorry, I'm a bit annoyed right now. I don't mind Google+ as a social platform, but I do think it was stupid of them to force their stupid photo **** onto the whole world by making it a mandatory part of Google+ mobile app. Screw that...I will just use the mobile site if necessary.
Certain phones can bootloop if you uninstall the wrong Google apps. You should always ask what kind of phone and update before saying everything is ok. It is rare, but some LG phones will soft brick with the Security Error if you uninstall typically innocuous looking Google apps like Google Books.
battery consumed by google play services is almost half of it..i am really not able to understand what to do. i have searched forums regarding this but i did not understand exactly what to do.my phone became sluggish.its rooted stock firmware running 4.3 android.i am new to this.could any one help me out in resolving this issue.also i saw a solution which says update play services.how to update?
Use app called disable services from play store.
And turn off Google services
Press thanx if i helped you in anyway...
This would break google services right? So no more sync gmail and such?
No I m using it for a very long time and it doesn't affect any functionality for Gmail or play store.
Don't know about Google now.
If you use that just check after you disable a particular service.
Don't disable network location and fused location service they are needed for maps to work.

Disabling a critical service can have negative impact. I would recommend Greenify donation package for this since it only hibernates the service and it can start when needed. You will need xposed for Greenify's experimental feature to work
~ RazorMC
I don't know if this is related but I tried that app to disable services and disabled all the services in google play services.
Gmail and others didn't work, so I enabled them again just like it was before, but now I'm getting a "can't sync contacts" problem in the google account sync panel in preferences...
Seems only contacts is having problems when syncing. Everything else syncs perfectly.
What should I do?
I tried deleting my google account and then adding it again, but no luck.
Hi there.
I can't find it anywhere and the official thread is closed (so strange that there is no official thread in the official Greenify sub forum...)
SO.....where can I look it?
No results in the Search.
Tnx.
I can figure it out yourself. Don't greenify system processes and keep important instant messaging applications running.

My biggest issues come from system apps, such as these:
- Google App
- Google Play services...
- Google Play services (com.google.office process.gapps)
- Google Play services
- Samsung Link Platform Connectivity
- Samsung Cloud Data Delay
- Samsung Push Service
- Backup
- Bluetooth
I have 3 different "Google Play services", Bluetooth even if bluetooth it's turned off, and the Samsung Link there Ida a mysterious for me as I don't have the Samsung Link app installed, and then about 200mb of Google App!!!
Other Samsung backup apps are there but dunno if they can be Greenifyed.
They are all system, and about apps, I don't have any that I can Greenify (I keep WhatsApp, Facebook, and a widget for the clock/weather, but they are so minimum in relation to those system up here!!!
Please help understand if I can Greenify those system apps listed up here, or art least some.
Tnx a lot.

You have some Samsung bloatware on your device, custom ROM would definitely help. Don't greenify Google services, stock Android doesn't run well without. I don't know what "Backup" and "Bluetooth" are in Greenify.
Try to keep all running unless you're willing to flash a ROM.
anyone know if is safe to greenify google photos ?

Yes,I use stock deodexed.
Backup has the Samsung backup icon, and Bluetooth I don't have any idea it's there as I have it turned off!!!
I would like to understand what it's safe to Greenify, and why can't I Greenify Google Play stuff, or if it's safe to Greenify the Samsung Link stuff as I don't even have the Samsung Link app installed
About apps, I have Google App that shows some time after using it and don't get out from the list automatically (so I imagine that Android doesn't close it) so it's shown as a Greenify-able app.
Also, if I Greenify an app like TapaTalk, will I restart from where I was in the forum browsing, or from beginning like if has been killed?

You have practically greenified every App and service on the phone. Do you use it only for making calls?
Calls, SMS, whatsapp, mail (inbox by GMail), Internet browsing (opera mini mainly), games, social (face, xda, etc), and other stuff. It's amazing that you can do almost anything you want with most of the system greenified. It seems that some apps are not so necessary after all... Which app of my list wouldn't you greenify and why? Bye!

Do you disable apps with Titanium Backup as well?
No. I've disabled some other apps with Debloater. I've never used TB, but I think you have to be root to use it. And I'm not. .

Hi guys,
I have a rooted oneplus 3 with greenify working in root mode. For some reason greenify will not have the option to greenify any apps made by google such as google drive, google photos, google keep, google music, youtube, etc. They are not even system apps, some aren't even stock apps. Does anyone know why and if there's a solution to this? Thanks.
I think my previous samsung galaxy note 3 greenify was able to greenify "some" of the google apps.

You have to have Greenify paid version and Xposed and enable greenifying system apps in Settings. Plus Greenify has to be enabled in Device Administrators and Accessibility in phone Settings.
What happens when you choose such apps for hibernation? Do you get any message?

Therein lies the problem. These apps don't even show up in the list when I try to choose an app for hibernation. Google Drive, Google music, Google photos, YouTube, they don't appear anywhere for selection.

Probably obvious (sorry) but you have ticked 'show all's under the overflow
(3-dot) menu in 'apps analyzer'? Believe your previous posts indicated paid version with appropriate Xposed based features enabled. Both are needed to expose Google apps on most systems (ie: when installed as system apps).
Hello guys!
Could you share with me thought about what processes I can freely freeze on my phone.
I already done with Launcher, Weather, Default SMS and Phone processes.
If I go deeper how far could i go before system hangs up?
I'm running a T-Mobile v10, but here's a short list:
All nonessential Google apps (except Play Store, Play Services, a few others). A few examples are Hangouts, YouTube, Google Drive, Google Dosc, Google Photos, Android Pay, Chrome, Cloud Print, Slides, Sheets, Google Maps, Google Music, Google Movies and TV, Gmail
All T-Mo apps can be frozen, like App Source, Visual Voicemail, T-Mo TV, T-Mo app, T-Mo Name ID, com.tmobile.pr.adapt.
Others: Facebook (3 in my case), Instagram, Lookout, Amazon
Be a bit more careful with LG's apps, freeze one at a time, if something breaks then unfreeze it. I've had no trouble after freezing LG Backup, LG Health/Health Agent, all LG Weather apps, com.lge.drive.activator, Voice Recorder, Quick Help, Email, Exchange.
Hope that helps!
That's a good start posted before me.
You would be surprised how much you can disable or freeze with no problems in the core function of the phone.
The LG Smart apps can be frozen also, system stuff like calendar, calculator, key chain, built in email, tags, talkback, live wallpaper chooser, daydream, Verizon bloat almost everything can go Verizon login , my info zone, my Verizon mobile, my Verizon services, support and protection, Verizon location agent, the system update apps, file manager, thinkfree viewer, trusted face, cloud, cloud print, caller name ID, maps, emergency alerts, Exchange, Market feedback agent, Multi photo, Music (both of them), Nfc service, nfc settings, the fingerprint apps, mobile hotspot, Snap page, plus a variety of other apps I can't come up with at the moment from 5.1.1 that I don't see anymore on 6.0 (replacement phone lost my root).
