I've had a strange issue with my g5, in that when I'm on 4g lte I have great download speeds (40+Mbps) but next to no upload speed(.03-.05 mbps) anyone have similar issue or solution?
Where the heck are you at to get those speeds off WiFi lol

I'm using Ringplus (on Sprint). Just on 4/21, I was getting 12mb/3mb speed in my home. Starting yesterday, at least that's when I noticed, I got 12mb/0.02mb. What's happened? Anyone know how I can improve upload speed.
I'm getting 4mb down and 13mb up! on o2 UK. Wishing it was the other way around lol.
Fixed
I ordered a new sim card from straight talk, and putting it in fixed the issue. now im getting almost equivalent speeds up and down!
No upload speed
I unlocked my lg G5 to travel abroad years ago, if I use it in a different country I get 0 upload speed, when back to sprint network it works ok. I've been trying to fix this with no luck. Already tried the naot method used on LG G6 it did not work for me. If someone found a way to fix this please share it.

Ok so i just flashed auxora and now ontop I have an h symbol instead of 3g. I did some research and from what I've read the h should be faster then 3g correct but quite the contrary my data speeds have dropped drasticly anyone know how I might fix this?
Some roms show an H and some a 3g. There isn't any difference. The only thing that can change your data speed is using a different modem build.
So then what should I do to regain my old data speeds?
My download speeds on the Speedtest app vary greatly depending on time of day, how strong my signal is and network traffic. If you're hitting anywhere above 3 or 4 mbps that's about as good as can be expected. The speeds that T-Mo promise are theoretical. Auxura has the latest modem build (I think it's JL5) but if you want to try some other ones look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=868774

You can try a different modem, but that low seems like you were throttled to me.
Log into your account at tmobile.com and check to see if you went over 5gig of data.

That sounds pretty likley I was doing some heavy downloading over tether. If that is my issue when might my speed be restored if at all?
This might be a stupid question, but you're not using your phone as a mobile ap or tethering with your computer right now are you?
Sounds like what you need it the handy throttle free fix from Master's web site
his new site is http://devsforandroid.com/ipb/
Check it out

Here's the think tank thread on throttling - Link
Second post shows how to change your APN to get service back until next billing cycle resets it. Then you switch back to your regular APN.

Oh sorry that helps but in a bad way. I don't know how to get out from under Simple mobile throttling, only t-mo.
Maybe search for Simple mobile APNs like we did for t-mobile and try them to see what works. We found t-mo's on Wiki.

Yeah I just noticed that thread said it only worked for t-mobile and bell. The odd thing is ive only got a 3.2gb data usage racked up on my account so that shouldnt be enough to get capped should it?

Exactly.
My 5g usage statement was based on the level which t-mo throttles us.
I suggest calling your carrier and checking what they throttle at.

thanks.
i just try to reset the APN by turning it off and back on.
didn't do anything tho..... anything else ??
Looks like connection and tower issue to me. Dies this happen everywhere or only in some particular spots?

I am going through this as well......and the only answer that even remotely helps is using different modems....i was at 200-300kbps ALL the time.
i started flashing modems and found that got up to around 3-4 mbps on a good run but thats still high for me. its the main reason i am thinking of getting the US varient.
i was expecting to see at least a CONSISTANT 4-6 Mbps and i am struggling to keep a strong 2-3 and it makes surfing and downloading apps and files a drag.
if anyone has any other thoughts i would love to try them out.

This happens every where i go so far.....
can someone around the bay area with average download speed of 1-5 mbps or more post a screen shot of their mobile network setting ? so we can compare ??
Also, another thing i was thinking is that would it be because i am on prepaid plan ? it shouldn't have anything to do with that right ? its all non smartphone data service for prepaid or postpaid account..... i think..... soooo confused

If its anything like Tmobile, the pay as you go plans lack roaming. So your signal will suffer. My buddy found this out after picking up a pay as you go plan. Call the network and ask if they have roaming on your plan. Then call a few more times to get a general consensus lol.

im in dallas, tx and got the c6802 delivered yesterday and this thing is horrendously slow, as im only getting edge speeds...
the carrier i'm using is straight talk/at&t...the odd thing is, i can't find anyone else who's experiencing this problem...all the reviews and people a see online, and some here in the dallas area, are all attaining 3g speeds with this device...
i've changed and tweaked the apn settings to no avail...
i had the international version of the note2 and didn't experience any problems with this service...
any advice/tips to remedy this problem would be greatly appreciated or if this thread can serve as a warning to others who are contemplating purchasing this device, so be it...
I have had mine for a few weeks in nyc with same issue. I have net10... I have to wait till they support it. Still not formally released here yet.

Can I ask that your setting is correct?
settings>More....(1 line under Xperia connectivity)>Mobile networks>Network Mode>WCDMA Only
Not that it has to be WCDMA only, but if under this mode you do not get any mobile data connection, then maybe u need to go into service menu and check under there...

i had mine on gsm only as i thought it best since it's a gsm phone...nonetheless, selecting WCDMA worked...i was able to stream music at work all day, surf the net and stream music while driving and didn't buffer or stall once...
hope that helps ya...
Thanks but same deal...still very slow.

call your providor. They will send you a message that is embedded with an file to install. This will configure your HSPA settings correctly.
Then reboot phone, and then you are good to go. I have to do it everytime I buy an international phone as the settings are slightly off.
Ok, so Im a new T-mo convert and I picked the S5 and prepaid unlimited everything ($80) plan. Im in the San Juan area in PR.
Ive been getting horrible data speeds <1Mbps since day one on the phone. The curious thing is that from 2 am to 6 am for (6 days straight now) speeds jumps to 15Mbps or higher. As soon as 6am ticks I'm back to Edge speeds. What is even weirder is that I swapped the sim card to my Note and started hitting 17Mbps or higher at any time.
I tried the new modem and it didnt work either. I also tried changing APNs to different values and going wcdma mode only and none work. I contacted customer support a few days agoand they said they would fix it but they havent. Since I'm on the 14 day thing, I think I may just return it.
Anyone with similar experience or know what could be going on?

Sent from my SM-G900T using XDA Free mobile app
I am. With that sim on the S5 I get no data or edge speeds when I do get data, except from 2 am to 6 am which I get LTE speeds.
With that same simcard I get LTE speeds on my Note at all times.

Return it and ask for a new one, I live in Caguas but I work on San Juan, and besides when I'm at the office, where all providers have the same signal issue, I have normal Data Speeds.
I must say that when I'm at home in Caguas, I get great LTE Speeds but in San Juan I have noticed that using 4G instead of LTE gives better download speeds, but from that to the issue you are describing is a great difference, that's why I'd suggest you get a new one during the 14 days.
