Hi everybody, in the past (before I bought the G5) I owned a Xperia z5.
The xperia had the VoLTE Option with stunning fast connection, much more clarity AND it was able to make a call while downloads are running. Very good.
The G5 does not have have this VoLTE function for now (I guess it´s able to handle VoLTE).
Does anybody whether it will be implemented in the future?

I think this is the VoLTE you are looking for. Maybe it is region dependent. I live in Hong Kong.

There is a setting in the Hidden Menue for enabling wlan call, but it seems that it is not activated in the firmware. I also have a german G5 and did activate wlancall in my contract last week. But it is not working (yet) and it does not enable more settings in the menues (yet?). Not sure if further work is needed or we have to wait for a newer ROM.

Strange. LG G5 is VOLTE enabled and approved by Reliance JIO.

VoLTE icon showing on the top of my screen, calls working well providing very clear audio (when on network) Telstra network (Australia)

May i Know your model number and variant of the phone?
if it is from Taiwan the model number would be H860.
Hong Kong firmware is for H860N
VoLTE is not working for me with 10e-EUR on T-Mobile Germany (it's enabled in the customer portal "Kundencenter") either.
I can confirm that model H 860 with indian firmware version V10k-IND-XX supports JIO VoLTE. Added bonus- default dialer supports video call.
I have 850 european model . With marshmallow Jio volte worked. Yesterday i updated to Nougat and volte doesnt work.
Pls let me know how to make it work. Thanks.

Thanks for the link. Because this kdz file contains the whole ROM fies while OTA file contains only the updated files.

Not entirely. The LOCATION toggle turns localization completly ON/OFF with the toggle. You have to long press the toggle and change the mode if you want to enable GPS. If you put the mode to "accurate", applications (like facebook) are allowed to turn on GPS... and they will. But if you do not set it to accurate, google maps wont work. The workaround was the GPS toggle...
Now they put a location toggle and put the Mobile/GPS under that toggle with only a deeper setting to split the option
It it the same as putting a network toggle and putting Mobile/WiFi onder 1 toggle with only a deeper setting to split the option. I hope that does not come from this.

Yeah... as I said, it seems that it isn't working on some regions... mine even on the hidden menu, the LTE Only option gives a "not supported" back... Some other people reported the same... :crying:

Sir,we have the same Chinese variant in India ( BND-AL10) but no one from India recieved this faceunlock update.Anyway we can get that update now ? like which file to download and any method to install .

I've read somewhere that Face Unlock is coming with Oreo ! So, I assume it was an Oreo update. Dont know if this is not the case.
I wouldn't recommend flashing this, but if anyone wants to try for the heck of it, try the first one. And you won't be able to update after flashing this.
This isn't oreo update, oreo will be released in May

That's for the Germany Variant ( I'm mean the International Variant ) Luckily, we in India have the Chinese Variant ( BND-AL10) which should receive updates far before the International Variant.Thats what even xda authors said in their post about Honor 7x Face Unlock Update .
I contacted Honor team on Twitter and they confirmed that face unlock update is a china exclusive update right now and will be released for remaining regions soon.
I hope they release It before the end of this month atleast

Brother go with the 200mb update, don't flash that 700mb file(coz its full rom without gaps). Just flash that 200 MB update n it will definitely work.

I don't have twrp to flash it . I didn't unlock the bootloader .Is there any other way to do it

It's not oreo & How do the network radios function? maybe Brick?
As far as I know, there is no oreo update for Honor 7x irrespective of the region and variant but I heard that there is a recent update that enabled face unlock and some other improvements were made too. Although the indian variant carries the same BND AL 10 model number, there was no update at all so it was meant for the Chinese variant.
However, I don't know how the china and India phones are different except for the language. I'm curious to know if any honor 7x stock rom is compatible and can be flashed on to any honor 7x variant? Ex: Flashing Europe or china on to indian or vice versa, you get the idea!! I'm not sure how the network radios behave and who knows it bricks the device??

I did try regular csc. Do I need a working SIM card for OEM unlock to appear? After playing around with my new gem I'm getting a beautiful message Sim Network Pin Blocked. Enter SIM Network PUK. I have a new sim card on the way from T-Mobile. Hopefully this fixes this problem.

Flashing any regular non branded firmware should fix the sim message. Any regular OXM Multi CSC firmware. (Without carrier branding)

From what I understand, if you manage to flash a stock fw without the system side of rmm while your bootloader is rmm=prenormal, the unlock countdown will never start and the rmm status won't change.

Have an Australian SM-G965F.
Been checking Developer and Download: No option, and pre-normal.
Last two days I have:
Rebooted it, multiple times.
Changed sims.
Done 2x OTA updates from Samsung.
Added my Samsung account yesterday after reading it was required.
Just read a piece somewhere about winding date back.
My phone status was Flight mode, and no sim (was swapping sims), but I believe it had wifi, turned off auto time/date, wound the date back to the 2nd of July and checked Dev again, OEM unlock has appeared, rebooted and checked download mode and it is no longer pre-normal either.
Boot phone up again and recheck dev once more and the option is still there. Have rebooted multiple times since and it does not disappear again, Time is set back to auto, but no sim in just yet.
Not saying this is a solution for all, nor that you should try it if you have x days uptime but for some weird reason this worked on mine, and if you are sitting there with the timer at a full 7 days it might be worth a try.

Just to add a little to this, 2nd of July would be BEFORE my phones initial activation date if that matters at all.

Many people have suggested that you do a factory reset on Oreo 8.0 and it fixes those issues, just make sure to backup your data

I see, I definitely know there to be modem issues with different firmware on similar phone models. I used to have the Moto X Pure and I had the issue by flashing EU software on a US phone. If you use 8.0 made for your phone (which should be released now) it would fix it, but on your case keeping the H870 EU software on your phone and factory resetting most likely won't solve the issue.

i asked LG UAE they told me there is no schdule available for release Oreo for ur phone
*Update to new TWRP build 3.2.3-3 or later!*H990DS Oreo Stock rom. Based on SEA but should work on others too.

Should if h990ds and yeah it will just show empty sim. If you have h990 you can try it and let me know.

tried too much, but still “Crash on the LK”, I think its brick now
and it can only boot in to Ramdump mode
now i m trying to import aboot.bin by QPST, but i dont have SPC code

Did you update TWRP? What variant are you using?
H990 Single SIM

So it finally downloaded.
I made a full backup in TWRP just in case.
- Wiped everything except SD and Internal Storage
- Flashed the ROM zip
- Flashed MK2000 Beta kernel for H990ds
- Flashed Magisk 17.1
First boot failed and looped to the warning screen (dirty santa)
Then it looped again to the warning screen and I started getting worried, but left it.
Third boot attempt and it was successful.
SIM wasn't detected for the first 2 minutes of the setup process, but then it appeared.
So, it's all working for the single SIM H990.

Confirmed working (things that I have seen as problems with Oreo updates etc):
- WiFi
- Mobile + Data
- Fingerprint
- Root and Magisk Mananger
Disabling Second SIM
To disable the 2nd SIM card (and remove all mention of it in settings / notification shade and call apps, I used the same app I once used on LOS 14.1.

Downloaded, checked the zip file, it has an aboot img in it, just wanna verify that its the eng aboot of dirty santa right? before i flash this
