Android x86 4.4 touch port to Remix os - Remix OS for PC

hi there, i have a asus all in one touch pc. the touch screen only works correctly with android 4.4 and below. for android versions above 4.4, the touch screen acts like a giant laptop touchpad. this is the same for remix os. hopefully there is someone out there that can help me port the touch driver from 4.4 x86 to the remix os iso. thanks

Have you identified the different drivers?
Run 'lsmod' on both and see if there's a difference.

This is not guaranteed to work, experiment..
unpack system.img from remix using 7zip
unpack system.sfs to system.img then unpack system.img all using 7zip
copy and replace the /lib/modules folder from 4.4 to remix /lib/
repack remix system.img and use kernel file from 4.4
boot remix using new system file and kernel from 4.4 and report back
for repacking use RMXTools

[Q] [HELP] Ubuntu Touch 14.10 on Nexus 4

Previously i'm Italian so sorry for bad english.
Hi guys, I'm new in this forum and I'd like to install Ubuntu Touch 14.10 (utopic) on my Nexus 4, but I'm confused
Before the utopic release there were 2 .zip (trusty-preinstalled-touch-armel+mako.zip and trusty-preinstalled-touch-armhf.zip) and now in the "ubuntu-touch/daily-preinstalled/current" there is a tar.gz file.
Before of this I took the zips files, upload on CWM and install from there, but now? How how can I install the utopic-preinstalled-touch-i386.tar.gz?
I want install Ubuntu Touch as THE ONLY operative system, NO DUAL BOOT.
I use Windows and Android 4.3 (I read kitkat has problems with ubuntu touch).
Thanks a lot
I don't think there is a way to do it properly from Windows. The install instructions assume you're running a recent Ubuntu version on your PC.
However, you could try to install Ubuntu using the MultiROM Manager app, then delete Android and set Ubuntu as the default ROM in the recovery to skip the ROM selection screen. I can not guarantee you can boot into Ubuntu after deleting the Android ROM though.
Another way would be to run the desktop version of Ubuntu in a VM on your Windows machine and flash Ubuntu following the steps from the link above. Or you go a step further and setup your PC to dual-boot Ubuntu and Windows.
EDIT: Sadly, the possibility to install Ubuntu using zip files was removed some time ago. They're using img files now which cannot be flashed using CWM.
On your Windows Machine, install Virtual Box. Inside Virtual Box install Ubuntu...
Run the Ubuntu installation inside VB to install Ubuntu For Devices on your Nexus 4. Follow the Wiki: http://developer.ubuntu.com/start/ubuntu-for-devices/installing-ubuntu-for-devices/

Unbelievable this is!
So many people will now not use it because they can't install it. It is such an extreme abnormal thing to install a different none mainstream operating system on your computer to flash the phone !
I was trying for 2 days now to install it but frustrations went out of control and I fist-punched the nexus 4 and as result a broken screen!
I will never ever again in my life even look at this OS!
(Sorry guys I'm so over frustrated!)

Not true at all. haha. Remix has had an EFI version available. Just download the EFI version, use the USB tool to write it to the USB stick of your choice, and follow my guide:

Just installed Remix os on my old laptop and it's running pretty well. Would love to see it can be port to the ASUS zenpad s as well since it's x86. I have the 4gb ram version and I assume it could run smoother then my old laptop.

if have a dell venue 8 pro 3000s series with 32bit efi and i got it to run. u have to manually set up a 32 bit version of grub in windows (put some files in efi partition, set up some config files......) and i used the files the androidx86 installer will provide.
its roughly like this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/remix/remix-os/guide-install-remixos-pc-hdd-partition-t3320861 but i didnt get any linux distro like ubuntu to boot (because of the 32bit efi) so i had to use windows. And be sure to disable bitlocker on ur windows partition and disable secure boot in the efi settings

Wiping HDD and installing Remix os on it

I have an old netbook that is pretty slow, it would be nice if I can install remix os as the only OS on that laptop. no boot from USB, no dual boot with windows, just push on button and remix os boots up.
For example, when I boot up ubuntu from usb there is the option to wipe hdd and install ubuntu on it. Would be nice if remix os had similar feature.

If your netbook is old (perhaps with 32bit cpu only), you'll have to take into account, that Remix OS will not start because there are problems with the graphics system.
Post "Installing Remix OS to Hard Drive or Virtual Machine without additional tools" describes how to use the built in formatting tool "cfdisk" for deleting old partitions and creating new partitions and setting up Remix OS in the next steps.
If you don't mind using additional tools like "PartedMagic" you'll find a description how to prepare a hdd and how to install Remix OS in Post "Remix OS on Hard Drive or Virtual Machine - Installation and (OTA) Update"

Is there a working Xposed for Remix OS for PC update 3.0.207 64-bit?

I found an exposed apk and a ramdisk.img file but it's for older versions, it makes 3.0.207 64-bit go into a boot loop. Does anyone know if there is a working exposed for Remix OS for PC update 3.0.207 ?
If so, is there a guide out there to install it properly?
