I saw there ist a method with a .TOT file for getting root on a LG V10 960A
but while checking all prereqesites, I updated to Marshmallow via LGBridge.
So it seems to be, that root ist only possible for Lollipop?
I did not find a description how to root with updated Marshmallows
LG Marshmallows Update does not unlock the bootloader.
Can someone explain how to root an updated LG V10?
There is currently no way to root the v10 on MM.
Only for LP there is a rooted tot file to flash with LG UP.

I have another question. Is there any chance to upload Andorid 6 on the system with root? I was thinking of flashing a pure 5.1 only if something can / do not damage?
You mean updating to MM while on a rooted 5.1?
Or going back to 5.1 after upgrading to MM?
For the first you would have to unroot befor updating.
And for the second, yes it's possible to downgrade after updating to MM.
I hope i got you right...

No. I have rooted 5.1 and i want to go back to clean 5.1 (without root)(maybe you know another way to unroot H960A?). Is it safe for my phone? After return to 5.1 can i update safe to MM?
Yes I think you should be able to flash the stock kdz file again (with upgrade option should do, so you don't lose your data) and after that you can easily update with LG UP or even LG bridge.
But actually I remember i was on rooted 5.1 and just flashed the v20a MM with LG UP using upgrade and had no issues at all. Data and settings all still present.
Just make sure you flash the right kdz for your phone variant.

Ehh... I have to be 100% sure to do this... (I do not want to have an expensive brick...)

Hello,
I finally rooted my Razr to the Retail.EU EMEA software.
the system version is 651.167.19.XT910.Retail.en.EU Android version 2.3.6.
However, I was newbie and i thought that i need to root my phone first then use RSD Lite to flahs another ROM.
So i rooted using MOTOFAIL.
I then installed safestrap and did a backup. After that, i installed the desired software(in my case the EMEA retail) using RSD lite.
But after that i noticed that my phone is unrooted so i uninstalled safestral and deleted the backup.
Did i do a big mistake by deleting the BACKUP ? i mean mine is working perfectly but i think i will need to restore my phone to the original ROM that came preinstalled with the phone in order to install Official Updates ?
i installed the ROM that is provided in this website in this link : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1362956
I also see that others have version 167.26 ? why i have 167.19 ? i mean i check updates but its says that my phone is up to date.
Please help !
Thanks.
PS: When i did all these steps, nothing has been deleted at all. Everything still exactly the same(except when i check the phone version and there is no more arabic language in the keyboard). I mean shouldnt it erase all the data ? what did i do wrong ?
You will get an Update via Motocast to .21 from. 19
.26 has an asian Baseband, i had an bad Phonequality on this.
And don't use Safestrap on GSM RazR. You need Bootstrap!!!
Gesendet von meinem XT910
I am not using bootstrap or safestrap. I deleted safestrap thinking that its useless for me since i wont be using that ROM again.
But my questions, did i do anything wrong ? will still get ICS upgrade ? And is my phone covered under warranty ?
I flashed ROM using RSD Lite so they said that it will UNROOT my phone so is that enough ?
Thanks !
PS: Yes, thanks i got the update using MotoCast. But why i cant update through the phones system update ?
You got the Update to. 21 so you will get the ICS, too
You can Root your Device with Motofail and save Root with Rootkeeper (Play Store). Just unroot temp. before you Update to ICS and you will be fine.
Why it's only over Motocast you have to ask Moto
Gesendet von meinem XT910 mit Tapatalk 2
Thank you but why i didnt lose any data ? i mean it should erase everythihng... right ?
also i see others using the recovery and wiping cashe and other stuff ... is it the same as using RSD lite ?
So I had to send my VS990 in for repair as the charging port broke. No big deal. I was rooted on lollipop and did a reset using lgup before I sent it out. They fixed the phone, and I noticed that they put marshmallow on it. I went to lgup to put lollipop back on, and I get *Tot anti-rollback version is smaller than version on device*. Does this mean I'm screwed or is there a way to get lollipop back on? There really isn't alot to find about this online so any help is greatly appreciated.
Try using the kdz file first (if there is one for you) to go back to LP and after that you can flash the rooted tot file again.

Let us know what you come up with... As far as I know there is no way to go back. GL. @jaedenhudson14

I tried the stock kdz and I got the error. I don't dare try the rooted one in fear of bricking my phone
Oh ok. But you weren't actually flashing because of the error and you have a working device?
There might be differences in variants.
I had no problems going back to LP and updating to MM twice now.

There is a metod to flash a file like this? How can I downgrade an T-Mobile V10 variant?
Thanks.
Pretty sure the t-mobile variant can't be downgraded due to the fact that there is no official lollipop kdz.
I think people may have tried another variant's kdz and bricked but I can't remember for sure.
Be careful!

What happened was I got my phone back from LG with MM on it. I tried to flash the stock out of the box LP kdz for the vs990, and it gave me the error.
I think LG has flashed you a version that prevents you from downgrading.
If you do a little Google search there are some threads on other LG devices with this issue.
Not 100% sure though

Thanks for your answer... So, we are stuck on that? Nothing really? Neiter some box software?

You are prpbably right. Was hoping someone made a work around for it, but it looks like this is a fairly new security measure from what I am reading.

Besides JTAG or finding a new exploit I think you are SOL for now.
from my experience with the LG G Pro (on this manner, there is no difference among LG Phones, only things changed are the DLLs and TOTs files), you can change your LG Phone to any software version, as long as you have its TOT file. Check this list if your device gets a TOT: http://lgviet.com/forum/threads/tò‰...g-v10-s-l-k-h901-960-961-962-968-vs990.53908/

This is fine and dandy but where do get a kdz file and what do you do with it?
Can I use LGUP to flash the .kdz for marshmallow over my rooted lollipop image using upgrade option in LGUP? Yes I want to lose root. I miss android pay to much.
Yes, as long as it's the whole .kdz image and not the update it will do a complete wipe of your phone to factory.
Is there a non OTA method to get to MM from LL?

yes, FM Radio is there and second screen day of week language is ok too! very happy with they finally have all the bugs fixed.
Many improvements. I specially like the fact that you can now change DPI in 3 levels from the OS on the fly - no need to be rooted.
Just go to Settings / Display / More / Size. A big screen like this deserved a larger density.... you can have it now.
For those who require the KDZ for any reason, I have uploaded it to : https://www.dropbox.com/s/n8z0v099i4..._0616.kdz?dl=0

This setting is not changing the DPI, it changes icons size et text, as you coud do it before separately in font options and launcher option.
!!! IMPOSSIBLE TO GO BACK TO MARSHMALLOW AFTER NOUGAT !!!
As you need LGUP+UPPERCUT to flash this rom, it's now impossible to flash back from NOUGAT a MARSHMALLOW KDZ rom file using LGUP alone or LGUP + UPERCUT.
My H960A device is unlocked, rooted, and TWP recovery installed.
Usually, it was simple to switch between LOLLIPOP and MARSHMALLOW, using update or refurbish mode with LGUP.
Now this is not possible anymore.
LGUP alone say error 0x2000 at 9% or 25% depending wich MM KDZ file I use
LGUP+UPPERCUT say that KDZ MM does not support Refurbish mode.
The only way I can use to go back is restoring backup using TWRP, but in this case the phone is still recognize as using the NOUGAT ROM H960A30B... but running a H960A20E as you can see on pic.
Something of Nougat still stay on phone even after restoring Marshmallow backup...
1/ At the startup, I still have a full page full unlock bootloader
2/ The fingerprint does not work anymore, and i can't record new finger
3/ Smartsetting do nothing (Wifi ON and BT Off at home)
3/ The phone wakes up itself constantly
Factory defaults does not help
Of course if try few time update nougat again and all is ok.
So my question is:
Does someone else try to go back marshmallow successfully ?
Do you know about some KDZ file only for update whith anti roll back fonctionnaly and some other which support refurbish mode ?
Thanks in advance for your help
XPOSED is missing too much...
Look carefully.... It does change DPI. You can check visually (more room) or any DPI checker.
Also in build.prop it says 560 dpi

It's working for me. Only issue I see so far is it seems NW connectivity is messed; no longer can I see 4G+ in places where I'm sure was getting it in MM.

Hi again! Great news:
I came across all web to try to make a flashable zip for those of you who want the modem (GPS/4.5G LTE) from the H960ATR KDZ to the H960A firmware and i did it!
Now i see the 4.5G LTE enabled when turn on data mobile and GPS are more accurate and fast to get position!
If anyone want to try, just download and put in your root or sdcard and install it:

My LG V10 is the global variant H960, not H960A. Have not received the Nougat 7.0 update yet. Pretty frustrating. Very poor update cycle from LG.
Do let me know if anyone has received Nougat update on H960, UAE version
With unlocked bootblock and rooted MM installed, is it possible to upgrade MM to Nougat keeping TWRP and root?
Hi guys,
I have a european H960a with unlocked bootloader, root, Marshmallow, SuperSU, TWRP and xposed.
Is there a way to update to the latest v30b (via LGup) and keep TWRP and Xposed? In other words are there TWRP and Xposed versions for the H960a with Nougat?

Do you guys think it is likely that there will be an xposed for the H960a? Or can we use a generic one...? I read, that there is a generic one for Nougat since last week?
