Rooting status "unknown", sim card and camera don't work - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there!
I have a serious problem with my D6503 that makes me feel very bad. I think i have a brick.
Symptoms: sim card not detected, main camera doesn't work .
Service menu shows many strange things such as:Rooting status unknown, HW Config rev unknown
I think Simlock.ta file has been flashed because i've unchecked it in flashtool's excludes.
Flashing stock roms using any version of flashtool doesn't help. I saw here on xda a couple of posts with similar problem but no solution for it.
Thanks!

Hey man I'm having the same problem in the Z3 Compact , you 've solved your problem?

[HELP] Touchscreen not working-SOLUTION FOUND!!

I recently flashed a CM9 based rom on my Xperia Sola, but after flashing its touchscreen stopped working, don't know why?I tried flashing .54 ftf via flashtool,it installed perfectly but it didn't make touchscreen respond. Then i tried it repairing through SUS but to no avail.Does anybody here know what would've gone wrong because i haven't flashed any custom kernel on it(yep locked bootloader) and i don't think that a rom can damage hardware(i know 'cause i have been porting CM9 based roms on my sola and they worked perfectly without any flaw). Is it the calibration problem or something?Don't know what should i do now.....
(Don't know why i went with Sony even when i knew deep in my heart that i would regret:silly

Yes the different device ftf may cause touchscreen fault due to driver mismatching/wrong kernel, but i was using Sola's ftf so that is ruled out.Although you are right that something different is corrupting the screen 'cause Xperia Mini had the same problem that was related to some rom flashing.
Or may be,the flashtool doesn't format all the partitions of the phone and there are some hardware files still lurking somewhere in the one of the partition thats causing the problem, but its just my guess.
I thought that only wrong kernel can cause hardware failure, didn't knew that a simple rom flash can do this,so lesson learnt:silly:
Restored my touchscreen functionality

Yes i found the solution and its simple as a pea.....
Just flash the stock gingerbread via flashtool and there you go....touchscreen's functionality RESTORED.I guess i was correct about the wrong driver lurking in some partition...
Hey hva8 give the above prescribed medicine to your Sola...i'm sure it will get well soon
Didn't flash back to ICS but i guess there shouldn't be any problem now.

Try the method given above...i.e install gingerbread firmware via flashtool, switch on your phone...run it for sometime, the touchscreen should work at this point. If yes,you can reflash stock ICS on your phone.Thats it.You can download GB firmware for Go from HERE.
Hope this helps.

Thank you for your help, but it does not work. I tried GB .62 and .84 with flashtool ver 6.x and 9.x with locked and unlocked bootloader. The touchscreen keeps black only the buttons responds (vibrate by pressing) a short time.
I think it's time for service center

By 'touchscreen keeps black' you mean that there is no display, that there may be some hardware fault,You should take it to the sevice center.

Does the touchscreen fault occured after flashing a rom/mod or after a physical damage?
If it is related to some physical damage, the solution won't work and you have to send it to service center.

I have tried a few methods, relocked bootloader then used SUS to repair but problem still there. I used flashtool to compile ftf from SUS download folder, with the same outcome. recently I have found jellybean release from o2uk (as I'm from England) but baseband imei and imei sv are all unknown and it won't read SIM. I have tried ics firmware with same result, even have a few old cwm backups from months ago when phone had no problems but they don't make any change. I'm starting to think a bad flash may have damaged the TA

I really don't quite understand this issue. You are not the 1st I have seen. My best guess is not software, since you flashed stock rom many times, but I think its with the SIM Card holder.

same problem here, is use a samsung GT-S5570i, last time i flashed jelly blast V3 rom without changing the stock recovery every thing worked fine,
last week i flashed the KitKat mod rom but i also changed the recovery to CMW, and i'm now facing the same problem, i re-flashed jelly blast still same problem, i don't think that it's is sim card holder problem because that before entering the PIN code of the sim the phone still working even if there is sim inserted
did someone finds the way to fix this???

It seems to ba bug specific to the ROMs b.1.54 also b.1.10 sometimes. Let your phone battery to die completely and then flash a stock Rom, probably c.1.10.ftf and reboot.
and flash the same rom again excluding TA and BASEBAND in flash tool
problem vanished

[Q] noob questions

hi All, good day. Sorry just a noob. Ive tried to read the whole thread and cant find an answer to the follwing questions. Hope you can help me.
1. Is there a posibillity of losing an network signal when flasing a custom Rom?
2. when i root my device, is there a posibility that the X-reality engine will not work properly?
3. ive read that the device can be rooted even if the bootloader is locked. If i decided to unroot it again, can we do that?
4. is there a flash counter in xperia devices just like in samsung where in you can see if the waranty has been breached already or not?
5. can we turn the device to its original state again after rooting, unlocking and flashing custom roms?
6. if device is rooted, can we still install new updates from Sony thru OTA?
thanks,
Have a great day!

Yes you can unroot just by flashing a Stock Sony ftf over the current one via flashtool. Preferably the same firmware( without wiping)
Also, there is no flash counter in Xperia. If you have a locked bootloader and it is unrooted, there is no way to tell if you have unlocked or rooted

1. Is there a specific FTF file per region? im an Asian. and when i search for latest firmware. i only got C6833_14.3.A.0.757_CE.rar

No problems with NFC here.
There are different ftfs for different regions. But that's not a problem. You can flash any region's ftf for your specific model number. If your model is 6833, then download any .757 c6833 ftf and flash it. Have a nice day
