This message is addressed to software developers who could possibly help resolve this issue.
Myself and other users have been facing a terrible problem with this phone in regards to network connectivity and missing incoming calls.
Basically, my phone becomes not responsive to incoming calls when it enters sleep mode. If my phone is in sleep mode (screen off), every incoming call goes directly to voice mail. As a result, I have been missing hundreds of phone calls!
To prove to Xiaomi that this is not an isolated issue with my phone in particular, I have created a survey in the http://en.miui.com/forum to have an estimate of users suffering with this issue. So far, over 45 people have reported to have problems receiving incoming calls. At least 30 people have reported to be facing the issue in which the phone does not receive incoming calls while in sleep mode (screen off). This is the link for the survey I created (http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=272072).
I have tested several versions of China, Global, Developer and even AOSP ROMs. They all have the same problem. I have been missing incoming calls since the first day I bought my phone.
In addition, I found that users have reported network problems with models Mi3, Mi4, Mi5, Redmi Note 3G, Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi 1S. These links can be seen here:

A user of the forum has posted a procedure that helps to reduce this issue of not receiving incoming calls. It consists of disabling the apk qualcomm supersaver and typing the code *#*#995995#*#* twice. This has to be done every time the phone is restarted. I have no idea of the mechanism behind this procedure but I guess it could help software developers to figure out a way to solve this permanently.
Thank you
Up & Thanks!
I have a same problem...
What can developers do about that? As you said, many users are suffering from this issue, plus you are experiencing it on several different ROMs. But a vast majority of users are NOT experiencing this issue. Why would two identical phones with two identical ROM versions differ in this matter? If the issue was not resolved by reflashing, only conclusion is that this is a hardware related problem and there is nothing the developers can do about it.
Has it been established if this is a problem across the snapdragon / mediatek range or just to one of them?

Well, they (devs, or xiaomi) can come out and say it's hardware related and call back the phones.

I think it's only SD related, because the first step of the fix is to disable the app com.qualcomm.qti.supersaver
Not sure if it is connected, but I never had a problem in the last 2 weeks, today I let my battery get down to 49%, when I went into battery use my I could see my phone network started to shut down at 70% battery, from what you say com. qualcom.qti. supersaver affects it , is this related to battery, if so is this the link???
After all those reports, there is a pattern that looks bad. Can anyone affected with this issue share if they're on 4G/LTE? I'm on 3G and never experienced such a problems. If we could manage to narrow down the issue, maybe there will be something we could do, but saying "I've reflashed all the roms available", doesn't help much. Also, are you using sim1 or sim2 slots? Have you tried with two sim cards or only one?
For example I can t recieve calls when I choose only 2g, when I choose prefer 3g in most cases I can recieve calls...
Apparently, the 7.3.2.0 china stable OTA fixes this issue! Sadly I can't test it right now

Just had my second episode of losing my phone network, again this happened when my phone got to under 70% on my battery.... it never happens if I keep battery charged above 70%.

I was one of the first to buy the HTC Titan here in Norway.. I love the phone and it's big screen, but still I need to ask about some bugs...
1. Freezing: Sometimes the touchscreen just freezes up. It usually freezes during a game or other app that uses some resources. This is pretty annoying..
2. Dial tone: Sometimes when dialing, the dialtone is put through the back speaker of the phone and it makes this very loud noise, almost like an old phone from the 90s. It's just happening totally random, and is also pretty annoying bacause it's really loud for the ear you have next to ur phone.
3. Voice control: This is totally useless. I saw a comparison on the HTC Titan vs. the HTC HD7.. The HD7 worked every time, and the Titan just kept on failing every task. How about testing the phones before they are released HTC?
4. WIFI drop: I've also experienced some WIFI issues. Sometimes the phone just don't wanna connect at all. But when I restart the WIFI connection or sometimes take a reboot it works again. There's no bugs on the WIFI with other devices or what so ever, so this must be a bug aswell.
I really think HTC need to step it up with correcting bugs. I remember buying the HTC HD2 when it came out and that one also suffered major flaws in the code. It's maybe the lack of good drivers that's causing all this bugs in the HTC phones? Anyhow, I need a phone that's totally bugfree and I think HTC needs to put more effort into doing just so!

1. Never had any freezes
2. Never noticed this problem
3. Voice control isnt available in my region so cant say
4. Never had any wifi problems, and i use it all the time
hi i had the same problems took it back got a replacement and the phone had the same problems in the end just changed phone completely phones4u had no idea why it was doing it
1. Never had any freezes
2. Never noticed this problem
3. In czeh location voice control isnt available
4. Never had any wifi problems.
1,2 and 3 : never seen this so far on my HTC Titan
4: Yes, I have exactly same issues with Wi-Fi. It seems like it is little slow on connecting to networks and sometime it just doesn't connect until I press on the network (although it was connecting to it before). It seems to me like phone is using less energy for WiFi to save battery but that does not produce good user experience.
1) Played a few games and apps and never experienced any freeze issues.
2) I'm not sure is loud for me but i'm OK with it. Same as my SGS II
3) Never had HD7 so I cant do any comparison but been playing with it since i got my phone. Never missed any of my word (except some weird chinese language that I tested )
4) Wifi too never an issue for me.
Just got my phone today so I haven't experience all your issues yet. Will check time to time again in near future.
I havent experienced any of the issues you describe. Sounds to me like you should swap it out as a faulty unit and see if another Titan behaves itself for you.
1. Freezing: none experienced. If nothing happened whilst the finger was on the screen, it was due to a cold finger.
2. Dial tone: have not encountered this yet.
3. Voice control: you're lucky to have voice control. No voice control on the Dutch ROMs.
4. WIFI drop: I have experienced this a couple of times. After two or three retries with reconnecting WiFi I get a connection and three bars on the icon. I tested this twice with my HTC HD2. While the phone said it was connected to WiFi but with no bars, my HD2 was completely WiFi connected with a working connection. At both tests there was enough bandwidth for both phones. normally both phones work well on the same wifi connection. These instances were not regular though 95% of the time I had no issues with WiFi on my Titan.
An new issue that I've found in Bluetooth.
I cannot connect my Titan to the microsoft bluetooth keyboard 6000. Anyone else run into this issue or know a solution?
OK good to hear that u guys don't have the same problems as I do..
The dial tone problem could be a carrier problem, because a friend of mine experience the same thing on his titan as well..
The freeze issue continue to be a mystery then.. Need to run some tests
Thanx for all the answers

Anyone else having a bluetooth issue with their htc Titan. Not only does the connection to my bluetooth keyboard not work, I can also not connect to another phone. I tested it with my HD2 and Samsung Galaxy Note. It seems to be a valid problem. The connection does work with regard to finding bluetooth devices, but I get an error, stating that the device is not compatible with the Titan??!! Does anyone know the cause or fix to this problem?
No,it is not caused by the phone this a feature of windows phone 7. Bluetooth can be used for the handsfree only.
I haven't those problems except wifi, sometimes it drops, but a few times of thousands, this is because of the metal case wich absorbs signal.
I have found only a bug: when you add a twitter account, during the synchronization it fails when synchronize contacts. But that is not the worst, windows live mail gets the same error when synchronizes and you can't get your mail either. If you delete the twitter account, the problem with windows live mail persists, even sometimes the twitter account deleted... becomes active again!
The exactly error is: We have problems synchronizing with m.hotmail.com. Not synchronized: Name: Twitter Contacts. The file couldn't be synchronized in your phone. Last attempt XXh. Error 86000206 (i'm writting what i remember)
I have not found any solution. Somebody tells that you can solve it deleting the twitter account, activating it later again, and synchronizing again... but it doesn't works for me
HTC Titan over here
I have wifi issue too. (WiFi stop working and show full signal. When i go away of signal still full) Turn off and on again wifi fix it.
Next problem is with touchscreen when batery level is low (less then 15%). sometimes screen not responding.
I have not encountered any of the mentioned Issues, but it might help o know if you are using the 1.08 or 1.09 bootloader as the new version apparently fixes some bugs.
EDIT: Read the other comments in this thread to see what I've tried and what hasn't worked. Thank you!
I love my Galaxy S5 so far, but currently it's sucking at being an actual phone. On the other end of the phone line, the people I've talked to have complained of the audio sort of cutting in and out like someone is interrupting me. This happens when I'm in quiet rooms alone, so I'm confused. At first I though it was the case on my phone (Supcase), but after replicating the problem for myself, that doesn't seem to be the case. So at this point I'm not really sure if my phone is possessed or if it's a hardware problem. For reference, I'm running XtreSoLite rom and I have a few Viper4Android audio things running. I'm not sure if that could be the problem. Anyway, if someone could help me solve this issue, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you!

It's certainly not normal. Not with stock firmware or custom ROMs like Phoenix. I have no idea if your custom ROM is a factor, bit it seems unlikely.
Possibly your problems are reflective of being in a location with a weak and tenuous signal strength. Generally speaking dropouts and feedback are data latency issues seen more with Voip and VoLTE calls. You don't have nearly enough information to do more than guess yet.. but I would make your audio app (Viper) to be the prime suspect.
See if you can exempt voice calls from Viper or temporarily uninstall it. Also find out if any background apps are using high CPU and in particular if any audio apps are set to high priority. Find out if you arwe using VoLTE. CPU (power saving) apps?
If you can't narrow it down, make a backup and then revert to 100% stock to rule out hardware issues. Then install apps one at a time, watching for the issue to return. You could also open a carrier support ticket to see if your account is misconfigured, using a low grade codec, etc.

Thank you for all of this! I'm having an unfortunate week because I'm actually away from home and have very limited internet access, so factory resetting my phone isn't currently an option. However, I did turn VoLTE off and I'll be wiping my cache because I read somewhere that might work. I'll also be watching my apps, but I'm not sure that's the problem. I generally have the same apps on all of the phones I use and this is the only phone people have said I sound bad on. And I don't think Viper is the culprit either because I've disabled it and nothing has changed. So hopefully turning off VoLTE works or simply wiping the cache does the trick. If not, I'll definitely do everything that you recommended because I want to avoid RMAing this device at all costs.
It seems that a factory reset solved the problem. I still have no idea what the problem was, though, but I'm happy it seems to be gone.
So the problem has returned. I factory reset once again and it hasn't done the trick. Everyone is describing it as an echo and telling me they can hear themselves echoing when they speak, although it sounds fine on my end. I don't know what else to do. I have:
Factory reset
Taken the sim out and put it back in
Changed APNs
I don't know what else I can do. Really hoping I don't have to RMA this device. Does anyone know how Samsung is with RMAs?
Bump
Still having this problem. I hope there's someone out there who knows how to fix it.
you ain't alone mine was fine for a while then after the new update it came back i call t-mobile.they put in a open repair tickets as others around my town also complain.my signal is always -114 to -119.they have heard it it when i call them.i get the echo or it brakes up or call turns into noise and then calls drop and they have to call me back on house phone they claim it is a tower/signal issue.??

i had this on my first two handsets it happened in the first 14 days so i had no trouble going into tmo store and exchanging it twice. people could not hear me and the echo was really bad. third s5 call quality super clear now.
been you had exchange the phone and new one working fine what software is it on NF6 or the new NG3 that would tell us a lot???before i downgrade back to the nf6

I had this same issue as well. I could hear people jsut fine, but when they tried to talk to me, be it over tmo network or through wifi calling, they heard bad echoes and noise. I even did as you did; factory reset and it sorta worked. When it happened again, I cleared caches (the official fix from tmo 611) and that worked for a couple hours. Eventually, they told me to take it back to the store and get a replacement.
I believe it's a hardware issue related to the mic; here's why:
When I'm in my car and on bluetooth people on other end hear me just fine and crystal clear. When I used a bluetooth headset, same thing. As soon as I disconnect from BT and go to just the normal mic, echo pops in.
One thing you can do is call 611 and use the voice prompts. It was so bad on my end that the voice prompts picked up itself (well the echoes from the voice prompts). If you do and the voice prompt system routs you even when you don't say anything (it routes your call because of the echoes) then you definitely have a bad handset.
I was rooted, custom recovery, knox tripped and mailed my phone in. Nothing happened. But they did charge me $20 for a return/replacement fee. The new phone I got works no problem.
Hello everyone,
Let me begin with saying that i've already contacted MIUI support as well as i've searched other MIUI forums for the solution of my problem, wich is really strange to be honest.
I own an original Redmi Note 3 Pro (previously i owned a Redmi Note 3G). I use the largest mobile network operator in my country and he gives all his customers the ability to use other mobile network operators range/connection in roaming for free whenever we like. It doesn't support 4G from different vendors, so it's 3G max. This is important factor later in the story.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The phone was originally shipped with MIUI China Stable ROM wich run fine but as you know it had a lot of crap in it including adds and a lot of wierd chinese apps. But it DIDNT'T cause my any trouble with phonecalls quality.
I used MIflash & download mode to flash the latest MIUI Global Stable ROM, wich in the beginning didnt cause me any problems with phonecall quality.
HOWEVER. After 1 week of using the phone, one of the updates for Global Stable came out. Phone was updated without any problems and it run fine, but i noticed that whenever im talking with someone the quality of the phonecall was lower then ussually.
Then another update came out and it was EVEN WORSE. I thought it's the issue with the ROM itself so i patiently waited to get my permissions for unlocking the device.
I finally got it so i flashed my phone with MIUI China DEV ROM, installed TWRP and installed the latest MIUI available for my country (wich i previously used for over 2 years or RN 3G) wich also includes fixes and optimizations. HOWEVER the problem still occured.
I then started to blame my SIM Card, so i got a new one yesterday, i also did a factory reset just to be sure, DIDN'T HELP.
So to SUM UP:
Issues: Call quality is low in random calls
How does it show: Caller speaks like with a robotic voice, interference, sometimes i don't hear the caller for 2-3 seconds.
ROM STORY:
1. I purchase RN3 Pro. It comes with original china stable ROM. Phonecalls work fine.
2. I install global stable. Phonecalls are fine.
3. I install two updates to global stable - the quality of phonecalls goes down.
4. I unlock bootloader and install custom ROM along with TWRP, same issues.
5. I reflash whole ROM, clean installation, same issues.
6. Yesterday : I get new SIM card, i factory reset my system and get new updates: SAME ISSUES.
Wierd factors:
- sometimes when the problems occurs while on call, i can resolve the issue with just waking up the screen for a couple of seconds..
- problem seems to happen less when WIFI/Data usage are off
- problem seems to happen less when using headphones (Piston V3)
- problem DOESN'T happen AT ALL when i switch to other mobile operator network in roaming! It's only happening in my main mobile operator network! I would use other networks instead of mine but LTE/4G isn't allowed yet while on roaming :/
- this issue happens on both SIM CARD slots, on different SIM CARDS
I tried to reflash China Stable, however it seems that there were too many updates and one of them is causing the problem now on every ROM. There's a few topics on MIUI Official forums about that, there are bug reports about that but i doubt MIUI Devs will notice this.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

hey what happened to your device?
I think my redmi note 3 pro has the same issue, call quality seems to go down where I would lose what the other person is saying for a second or two like the earphone is malfunctioning.
but the speaker works fine and signal is not an issue either
were you able to fix your issue?
I have the same problem with my phone since I remember. I got my phone around 3 weeks ago and flashed the latest Stable and Developer ROMs but the problem still exists. Like mentioned above by my friend, the quality is fine when I change to other operators in 2G, but in 3G and LTE its totally mess. I wish someone recognize this problem and fix this.

so sorry to hear that you have this issue as well
this is just unbelievable.... how can they just ignore such an issue? It's becoming a nuisance to sometimes impossible to use the phone to make or receive calls as I can barely make out what the other person is saying
Is there anyway we can complain about such issues?
Guys I found a workaround for this problem. Although it doesn't solve it completely. By this solution I succeeded making calls with much less noise and problem.
You have to turn the proximity sensor off for calls. It somehow solves the problem for now and make the calls much more understandable. Hope it helps you and get solved completely.
Me also facing same call quality issues

Thx for your sharing information but that didn't work dude. The problem still persists.
Guys I got a solution for myself. The problem actually WAS with the signal as I thought contrary. Yes, the 2G network works well because it has more strength with less range so its obviously works better than 3G. Hence, I started searching for a solution to improve the signal I get in my phone. The best thing I found was an app named "Network Signal Speed Booster" which boosts the signal you receive. Whenever I called a phone number after running this app, the call quality was PERFECT. This app actually connects you to the nearest antenna so the result is a better connection to the network provider. Please do this solution yourself and see if it works and notice the others. thx.
Thanks
Behrouz Your solution may work very well for me
I had the same problem
Thanks
My friend has issues with a Redmi Note 3 PRO speaker. He doesn't hear a conversation clearly. The person who he is talking with hears him perfect. Will "Network Signal Speed Booster" app help in this case? Some people says it's a fake program. Any new solutions?
Confirmed, Network Signal Speed Booster helps but temporary. I`ve noticed that it doesn`t matter of the network type,(4g,3g,2g), it happens only while the wifi is on.

Doesn't work on Nougat ROMs like Lineage OS
When the wifi is off everything is fine. But I can't understand what causes the issue.
Sent from my Redmi Note 3 using Tapatalk
Whenever I plugin my earphones, I do not see the tiny earphones icon on top and cannot hear any audio from it. It just plays audio from my phone. I can confirm this is a firmware issue as I have installed an app called "SoundAbout" and in that app, I enabled the SoundAbout Service and under "Media audio", I changed the selection to "Wired Headset (with Mic)". After this, I can hear audio from my earphones. However, as soon as I change the Media audio setting back to "Let App Decide", I can no longer listen to audio from the earphones.
This is a workaround but I did not face this issue earlier. I do not want to depend on any third party app for routing the audio through my earphones. Can anyone please advise any troubleshooting steps apart from doing a factory reset/flashing the phone? Thanks!

I have the same problem as you but with Custom ROMs, there isn't any problem
@mermade, This is my problem too. At first I thought it was hardware issue, but whenever I used a custom ROM, there was no such issue.
So, to tackle this, what I used to do was, I put the earphones into the headphones jack half-inserted for about 4-5secs. Then I would push them in completely and the audio used to be routed through my earphones.
Also I noted that this happened with earphones without mic only. The ones with mic never made this issue.
Earlier, I was having problems with Fingerprint Sensor too. I had FPC one and it just stopped recognising fingerprints. I thought my sensor had become obsolete. But, then again when I flashed custom ROMs it started working great for a while. The thing was, whenever I used to feed my fingerprints into it, it worked great for maybe upto 50 attempts. But, later it always vibrated and never unlocked the phone, nor did allowed to enter new fingerprint.
Another issue was the cellular reception. On miui stable there was no problem at first. Then I made some bad flashing ( that's only what I thought would've happened ), though I never bricked the device itself. I was getting signals on only one of the SIMs. Then flashed the modem partitions and had both the sim slots not working. Had my IMEI swept at times. After a lot of hit-and-trial, I managed to get both of my SIMs working (fp sensor still wasn't working). Now, I could use 4G and 3g networks simultaneously on the sim while earlier the other sim had to be on 2g is the first one was using 4g. I found out that the modem files of miui developer were more stable.
Currently, I'm on MIUI 8 Global Dev 7.5.23, and from the last builds, the fingerprint sensor has started working perfectly. Also the networks are fine. Now, the only problem is that if both sims are using 3g networks, then it always show the signal strengths on both networks exactly same. The signal strength bars change together. But that doesn't create any problem in usage.
The only problem with miui dev is that the performance, heating, charging rate and battery life keeps on fluctuating significantly with every weekly update. This 7.5.23 seems pretty good but sot is around 6hrs only.

Thanks for the detailed reply Not sure what changed but when I connect the earphones now, my phone detects it. I tried it like three times and it detected it all three times. I guess this is a temporary issue and is triggered by some apps/settings. I will continue to monitor for any changes. I am not having other hardware issues like fingerprint sensor/any SIM/network issues so don't really want to take the risk of bricking the phone by flashing/rooting. Thanks!
Same problem with my phone too.I don't want the third party app.I tried everything but nothing seems to help. Please help me.
As @sasukay said, push it half way in for couple of seconds and the earphones will start working normally. This was later fixed for me in later Xiaomi.eu ROM's, and never happend in other custom roms like LOS or RR.
I have the exact same problems as the starter of this thread. Unfortunately none of the answers work as a solution for me on my Redmi 5 Plus. Why haven't Xiaomi fixed this?
I've had this issue twice, and upon researching for it in XDA the solution that worked for me is to just simply plug and unplug an earphone numerous times until it finally works properly. This seems to be related/similar to the solution recommended by sasukay.
This solution also works for the issue the other way around, when the phone perpetually detects an earphone when there is none.

Thanks a lot brother. You are a lifesaver. Researched and tried many processes none of them worked. But your one solved the problem within seconds. May god bless you.
I need to tell you my short story with the Redmi Note 9S.
I bought the phone at the beginning of may, my first Xiaomi with MIUI (my former phone is also a Xiaomi, but a Mi A1 with Android One) The first two weeks was working OK. I even red some reports about wifi and screen shadows bugs, but my phone didn't show these issues. I was very satisfied with the camera, the speed, and the amazing battery life.
However, around 20th of May it started with wifi disconnections with the screen off, almost every time that screen went off, the connection stopped. I assumed this bug was normal in a recently released device, and that it was going to be solved on the next software update.
Also, one of my smartphone main use is listening to music, through Bluetooth because I have the excellent Sony 1000XM3 headphones. Sadly, I discovered that my headphones, that sounded so good paired with my former Mi A1, sounded very very low with my brand new Redmi Note 9S. At full volume at the phone it sounded low with lack of punch and liveliness. Also, I was surprised that my dad's Redmi Note 8 showed the same behavior when I connected my headphones. So, I suspect from MIUI implementation.
The end of May came and so the first software update to my RN9S. I upgraded quickly thinking that the wifi bug was fixed, and the first days that was my impression. However, around the 8th of June it started again with the random disconnections -less than before, I need to say-.
Also, the Bluetooth bug wasn't fixed, even having informed Xiaomi about it, on official forums and through the feedback app. They requested me to send a logcat, with no further response.
Last weekend I installed the latest update, 11.0.9.0 QJWMIXM, hoping that, after two updates, the bugs was finally fixed. But no, there is no fix at all. Also, on official forums team members are saying that this update will be the last until MIUI 12, probably out in July.
Due to COVID pandemic, I'm working from home, using Whatsapp Desktop to communicate with my workmates. As you may know, WD need to have the phone permanently connected. But with this annoying bug, WD doesn't work, and I received the messages late.
So, frustrated with bad Xiaomi support, and problems with brand new device, I ended selling it, and now I'm going to buy a new, non Xiaomi phone. Luckily I still have my old Mi A1 as a backup, no MIUI of course.
I DON'T RECOMMEND TO BUY THIS DEVICE NOW, UNTIL ALL BUGS WILL BE FIXED.
Hope my short story serves as a warning to buyers, and a wake up call to Xiaomi. Care about your phones and your customers.
my experience, dont touch a Xiaomi phone unless its been out in the market for atleast 6 months.

A very good point. I also feel that I bought this phone too early, and we are all sat here wondering if the major bugs on our phones are going to be fixed. I won't be too hasty next time, I'll probably purchase something else too.
I am very happy with my purchase.
Consider installing a custom rom. I have not noticed any bugs + much more useful than MIUI: https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-9-pro/development/rom-evolution-x-ganja-curtana-t4094495

That's what my plan is, I love the phone but very disappointed with stock support. What amazes me is that the custom Rom devs can produce a custom build without the bugs, yet Xaiomi don't see these major bugs as a priority.
I really want to flash Evo X, but I want to make sure I do it right. At the moment I am reading about bootloops with some people that have tried it.
Sorry if this is off topic here but what were your exact steps flashing the Evo x ROM. Just bullet points will be fine.
I'm rooted with Magisk. I just need to be rid of these bugs once and for all.
First of all a disclaimer, the source code for TWRP for Note 9S has not been published. It may contain some malware or anything else. I am not responsible for any damage. I just tell what I did and it worked for me. Might not work for you.
PC is required to do the following:
" unlock bootloader
* update to MIUI v11.0.7, I got a fixable bootloop on other version (search MI forums or similar for the files. Update from system menu did not work for me)
* turn off phone
* enter fastboot with volume down + power
* install TWRP (search MI forums)
* copy Evolution X install file to SD card
* follow the instructions in Evolution X thread
The problem is that Miui Global is a terrible operating system, really horrible. Don't expect improvements with Miui_12.
Or wait for roms based on Pure Android (AOSP / LOS) or if you want to keep Miui raisins for rom Xiaomi.eu

Have you even read what he wrote?
I have had my Redmi Note 9S since mid-May. No issues like that all for me thus far.
No problem like the one you describe.
The sound is great. If it was low for you (as it was for me when i first connected my earphones) you must use both the phone and earphones volume slider to increase the sound.

I could not finished up the epistle you wrote describing the issues you have experienced, but i'll say in my opinion that you are still new to MIUI, being an old miui user, there a settings that make the phone disconnects network connectivity either WiFi or Mobile data in other to save battery, Check settings- battery performance - and play around the options there. Cheers
Well yeah, but the wifi bug definitely EXISTS.
Read through the different boards and you will see how many users noticed the same behavior on their devices.
That's NOT a wrong setting that you simply can switch in the energy save settings of the phone.
And Xiaomi knows about this bug and they tried to give a fix in the latest firmware update, but for many it's more a "dirty workaround", cause wifi is still disconnecting after few minutes in idle, but reconnects after a few seconds in most cases. Its a dirty workaround, cause the constantly reconnecting all few minutes is draining battery unnecessarily and doesn't always work.
(Would be nice not to quote such a long post...its a bit annoying to scroll all the time to come to the new post itself ?)

Source your quotes. Where are you seeing that this is a common thing. This is the first I've read of it on 2 forums. I was also going to suggest the wifi to mobile handover setting as that has plagued me in the past because of my bad wifi.
Lol...are you kidding me?!?
You don't have to go far...a closer look HERE on XDA and you'll find the first thread with over 200 posts so far...!
https://forum.xda-developers.com/re...omi-redmi-note-9s-wifi-stops-leaving-t4085213
And by the way, even Xiaomi themselves have posted that the update to MIUI 12 will "Adress the wifi issue"...
My short story with the 9S:
I did order the 9S 4/64GB with Gshopper on aliexpress, shipped from the Czech Rep.
It was really shipped from Germany (JKGC in Buchholz).
Now the trouble started:
- MIUI 11.0.7 Inserted SIM - data works, outgoing calls all go to "Emergency Number"
- unlocked BL and installed TWRP and crDroid - still data works, but all calls go directly to 112/911...
- flashed with MIUI the fastboot MIUI 11.0.9 - still the same...
- unlocked BL again and flashed TWRP and MIUI 1.0.3 EEC - still no call other than "Emergency Number"...
- Flashed Evo X - still no call other than "Emergency Number".
In Settings/Apps and../Phone the check box is ticked, so unfortunately this was not the problem.
Gshopper denies Warranty, only agrees to refund if I pay for return shipping and says I can buy a "new" 9S. Even that they sold a faulty product shipped from the EU(CZ) to EU(IRL)...
EDIT: found a partial fix, see here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=83114093&postcount=2
I just got this phone and am pleased with the hardware and performance coming from a Zenfone Max Pro M1 but it does seem a bit buggy (random app freezes a couple times, and some games like Sonic the Hedgehog 1 and 2 refuse to start). Hopefully these get patched quickly but I will probably use a custom ROM once updates cease.
Is the WiFi bug a problem in every phone or just some of them?
If it's just say 10% of phones then I don't mind taking my chances.
If it's every phone then it's not worth it.
Sent from my BKL-L09 using Tapatalk
Well, I guess you can have the problem with every device of this model.
It more depends on the combination of the device and the router you are using.
Most of the users facing problems are using a fritzbox router as far as I know.
I'm using a router from vodafone for example, and have no bigger problems with wifi on my phone.

I use a "Vodafone" router too, a Huawei HG556a and openWRT. No problems to use the hotspot and "relay" the Inet to my home network.
In my case I had to downgrade to 11.0.7 first and then install crDroid. After that WiFi and hotspot worked, which it didn't with 11.0.9 as base. I tried LOS from telegram and that worked well from 11.0.9 as base.
