I have an mail icon on the view window, any idea how to clear it? Checked gmail etc but no unread messages there.

Looks pretty much like a unread email for me ))
If you haven't find it yet, try to check all again once, email - SMS - unanswered call

I just installed GO SMS Pro and it works great but the problem is that of multiple incoming text message notifications. The stock messaging application as well as GO SMS notify so I disable the notifications of stock application but on the lock screen it displays number of unread messages though the messages are read already. The stock messaging application doesn't recognize that the messages have been already read using the GO Sms Pro. How do i disable it? I mean the stock messaging application and its lock screen unread message count notification?
Go to the stock messaging app, settings and disable "automatically read messages" or something like that.

It is called auto-retrieve... seriously, did you take any time to really look at the options instead of forcing others to switch the language of their phone to English?

Probably only temporary... the only real fix would be to uninstall the stock app which will likely screw your MMS (in case you are using it). (There is some Go SMS beta for testing here @ XDA with more complete MMS functionality in case you are interested.)

Doesn't help, still shows the unread message count in lock screen.

As said in the quoted message. (And frankly not worth wasting the time, given how useless the lock screen is.)
Auto-retrieve is associated with MMS got nothing to do with the unread TEXT message notifications

Well, as said, it worked here, otherwise I would not mention it. Let us just abandon this topic since obviously there is no solution beyond the mentioned one which involves uninstalling the stock app. (Or installing a ROM with a useful lock screen.)
Install both handcent and go sms... only keep the notifications of go sms.. thts it u dont get any sms notifications on your lockscreen.!!
use only handcent sms instead of go sms pro. this solved my sms count problem on the lock screen
Does anyone have a code example for getting the unread mail count from K-9 mail? (Either per-account, or an overall value?)
All I've been able to find is documentation on receiving new mail notifications.

@benjymous
Did you ever find any, I've been looking through the source code of K9 mail, and there seems to be no easy way to just get the unread count.

Actually, yes. Here's the code for a dashclock widget I made, that should provide a nice self contained example.
I haven't tried it in a year or so, so things might've changed again, but it should point you in the right direction, at least.

Is there any email app that can detect dates/times in messages and offer a link to set an appointment like the iphone email app does? Thanks.

Doesn't the standard Touch-wiz Email app do this? Running CM10 now so I can't check, but I am 99% certain it hyperlinked dates and words like "today", "tomorrow", etc.

Had the same problem, i solved it by deleting all the calls received and still listed on my call pages, after the dialer.

Yes, problem solved by ersaing calls listed.
thanks worked for me too! :good:
Themer just calculates the whole missed call count even though a user noticed those missed calls already.

This does not solve the issue. What would actually solve the issue is if when the user acknowledges the missed call, then the count is updated in the widget - like all misssed call widgets work. Having to go in and delete a missed call out of the call log everytime so I don't think I have a missed call is a little ridiculous. Please update the widget so it works properly...Besides sometimes you need to go back through your call log and see when the last time someone called you when you missed their call. If you've deleted this, then you will no longer have the record of the missed call.

Same with the Email-counter. It only checks unread e-mails within the Gmail-app. Many people (including myself) uses other e-mail client apps, such as InoMail. Do you have any plans on adding support for other email-apps?

I use Hangouts as my default SMS app in my Nexus 5.
No matter what I do, all the themer widgets seem to think I have 2 unread SMS messages. I don't.
Is there any way I can get the themer widgets to show the correct unread count?
I've had the same problem a few times. You do actually have to unread messages somewhere. You may have archive them or deleted them.

What RED said is correct, also check that it isn't showing SMSs from other accounts.

I noticed this as well. It seems to be due to the Android SMS Messaging app on my phone showing the message as unread even though my current default sms app (hangouts) has no unread messages. the only way I have found to clear the unread flag is to set it the original sms app back to default then click on the message and read it then set hangouts back to deafault. Or once I've determined which thread is the culprit (via opening the default app, then going to hangouts and deleting that thread it clears the flag. Not ideal, since there's a reason for keeping history, but it keeps my OCD nature of having an unread message from having a fit.....
I would be interested if anyone has found a fix for this as opposed to my work around.

Thanks for the update! We'll pass it onto our devs. For now we don't have a fix, but an update should be released this week that may help.
