htc one m8 stuck in bootloop, help needed - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

It was my first attempt to root.
I unlocked the bootloader from htcdev then used twrp
I downloaded supersu version 2.02 put in on my sd card and flashed it
I had supersu in my app drawer but it said SU binaries weren't installed and i had to reroot but i didn't have any problem with the functioning of my phone.
I downloaded the last version 2.46 from chainfire
I wipe cash and dalvik and then rebooted. My phone got stuck on the white screen with htc logo
I couldn't turn it off so i let the battery drain. Tried rebooting, same problem.
I would like to go back to stock.
Please help and I need step by step instructions if possible.
Thank you

Serious Help Required

My Rezound and I are stuck.
Let me start at the beginning. My Rezound was running “RUU_Vigor_VERIZON_WWE_1.02.605.6” and it was unlocked and rooted. So recently Verizon started forcing this firmware update with no way to stop it that I could find. So I decided to update on my own. I did a Nanoid backup of everything and a Titanium back up of everything. I relocked my phone and I found “RUU-build-4-03-605-2” at Android Police [Exclusive Download] Full RUU Build 4.03.605.2 For The HTC Rezound. So I downloaded it and renamed it PH98IMG.zip. Placed it on my SD card and booted into HBOOT were it loaded the new version. It worked so I unlocked my phone and loaded “recovery-ra-vigor-3.15-gnm.img”. I loaded SU from the recovery had it updated at Google Play. Reloaded Titanium rooted and this is where things started to go wrong. No permissions were being given to Titanium. I tried “recovery-ra-vigor-3.14-gnm.img” and I even tried SUSuper but nothing worked. I went into recovery and did a complete Nanoid recovery. Since then I have not been able to get anything to work. I cannot load any older versions. I try to reload “RUU-build-4-03-605-2” but it makes it to #4 system were it gets stuck in a loop of unzipping and updating.
My very last attempt was to unlock the phone load “recovery-ra-vigor-3.13-gnm.img” go into recovery and do a wipe of everything. Then from XDA-Developers [ROM][ICS Global Phone Update][4.03.605.1] Stock, Root, Deodex, Busybox, Global Phone - xda-developers I downloaded the ICS Global Phone Update Firmware and the ICS Global Phone Update. In recovery I used “flash a zip” to update the firmware. I locked the phone and renamed the Phone Update to PH98IMG.zip. Booted into HBOOT and allowed it to update the software. I instantly powered down and renamed “RUU-build-4-03-605-2” to PH98IMG.zip rebooted to HBOOT and it made it to #4 system where it got stuck in the loop.
When I try just to start the phone it stays on the white HTC screen.
What can I do to get my phone working again? Please be specific with the steps to take because I am still at the bottom of the learning curve.
One other question: Can my Nanoid backup recover the data for the internal card so Titanium will be able to recover my programs.
Thank You SOOOOOOO very much for your help.

You tried in recovery turning on Full Format and formatting "system"?
Also try loading a custom rom and flashing it via recovery and see if everything works properly
Don't use the Su option in recovery always flash SU using one of the flash zips either SuperSU or Superuser

Thank you for your response. I went into “Recovery – Wipe” and selected “Toggle Ext Full Wipe”. Then I went to “Format “ and selected “Format all to ext3”. It showed me the warnings and I pressed power to continue.
I tried to recover using my Nandroid backup but it did not work. So I formatted a second time. This time I flashed the firmware zip file and it worked 100% this time. Rebooted to HBOOT/Fastboot and locked the phone. The phone rebooted and made it all the way through setup and to home screen. Software version 4.0.3-605.1 so why stop there. I booted into HBOOT and let version 4.0.3-605.2 load and it made it to “System” and got stuck in the loop.
So to make a long story short I started all over again and flashed the ICS Global Phone Update Firmware. I verified that everything was up and running. Then I tried one last thing. I went into recovery and did a Nandroid recovery. I only selected “Data” and “Ext-card” and let it go. I am now fully operational with all of my programs including my wallpaper. The only thing I can tell I lost was Titanium Backup’s backup. Everything shows no backup and no files are frozen.
Thank you again for your help. :good:

Twrp crashing? (SOLVED)

Hello all!
This morning my phone decided to reboot over and over again. I got into twp and made a back up of my current ROM. After making the backups I tried to restart and twrp informed me my device was not rooted and asked if I wanted to install SU. I choose no, then rebooted. I tried to restore an older version of my rom twrp gave me a "failed" message. So I tried to reboot and again I got the message from twrp saying I was not reooted and ask to install SU.. so I did.
Since then I can not get back into twrp, I get the twrp splash screen and then the phone bootloops. I tried reflashing twrp 2.6.3.0, 2.6.1.0 and even 2.6.0.0 multiple times with all the same results of twrp splash screen, then phone reboots... Any ideas?
I'm s-off (VIA dirtyraccoon from about 16 months ago)
Hboot: 1.19.0000
EDIT: I used windroid HTC Evo LTE tool kit and s-off'd with faceplam... dunno why but it seems to have fixed it.

Help

I had Adrenaline 1.9 installed and all was working fine. A program locked up this afternoon and after restarting the phone, the white HTC screen would come up but nothing further. I rebooted to recovery to try to reinstall my backup (latest TWRP) and that failed. I have no OS installed is what I see. I tried to reload a RUU using the sdcard method; it sees the image zip, appears to load, but after reboot I once again get the white HTC logo with nothing further. Help please. Rooted and S-off.

[Q] TWRP Bootloop

Hi all,
Any help please? After nearly 2 years of having my HTC One M7 and not rooted a phone since either. Decided today would be the day and yep I cocked it up.
All was going well, unlocked bootloader, installed TWRP, installed SuperSu.
Rebooted then problems started, SU was not installed correctly, said binaries needed updating and would need to be done manually. Updated superuser with latest 2.46 update file through TWRP. Phone is now stuck on HTC One boot logo. I did a nand backup before SU update and that just boots back to TWRP.
Any help please?

which version of twrp do you have, binary update is often needed, nothing really wrong with that, while the bootloop could be due to a faulty version of twrp. if you have 2.8.6.0 you should look for 2.8.6.1 and chances are good that the problem is gone. of course i dunno what else could have gone wrong, just seeing that you freshly installed and that this could be the reason. hope it helps.

Can you please explain how I can download the stock ROM and flash it. My computer no longer detects my phone anymore so I can't use commands. Please reply as soon as possible.
The latest beta version of SuperSU bootloops on my htc m9. I went back into recovery and installed the last stable version and my phone works fine. Booted a few times before loading though, so if you're lucky you won't have to flash a rom.

But what I did is I downloaded the lastest SuperSU and it was placed in the Downloads folder. However, when I went to recovery mode to install it, it wasn't there. So, then I exuded to reboot my phone to see why I couldn't find it. That's when TWRP recovery asked to root my phone for me and I accepted. That's how the boot problem started. So can I still use your method to fix this ? Please reply as soon as possible.

yes my method will still work, download the stable version of SuperSU and place it in the root folder of an SD card. put the SD card in the phone and then boot to TWRP. From there go to install(make sure you select externalSD) then select the stable version of SuperSU and install. Mine when I do this boot loops a few times before it finally loads, so set it down and leave it alone for a little while. Good Luck.

Thank you so much for your help! I just installed SuperSU and waited or it to boot up and now I am back to using my phone again. Does installing SuperSU also root my phone? If so, then that is great and I'm glad someone out there was able to help me.

Sorry for not replying, was very busy with work so didnt check xda, glad to hear that you fixed your problem with a much easier method than flashing full rom. And yes, flashing super su roots your phone, open supersu app, install binary normally when prompted, reboot phone.
Couple of months later i am back with another problem. i woke up today and my phone died of charge. I plugged in the charger and tried to power up my phone. It was stuck in a bootloop. So, I went into recovery, wiped cache and dalvik cache, rebooted, and still didnt work.
I then went to wipe and did the thing where twrp asks to do a factory reset by wiping cache, dalvik cache, and data. Still didnt worl, so i took out the sd card and did it again. Still bootloops. So, i then wiped dalvik cahce, cache, system, and data. Now, my phone is stuck in the white HTC logo with red text. and twrp tells me there is no os installed, are you sure you want to continue? CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS! PLEASE PLEASE REPLY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!
