Hello.
Trying to use my dual shock 4 via USB but the controller just blinks yellow when I connect and nothing else.
Tried a few controllers and otgs with no joy.
On the latest stock lollipop non rooted.
Am I missing something.?
Thanks

Why do you don't use bluetooth?
try it via Android settings > device connection > game controller

Hi folks,
Is this the same method for use with the Xperia Tablet S?

I assume, using the leads listed that I can do the same.
Anyone know the correct method for connect a Dual Shock 3 controller?
with xperia tablet s you connect dual shock 3 controller via usb, then you get a popup saying you can disconnect controller with usb and enable bluetooth to use it wirelessly.
You don't need any special app to enable it etc.

should be working fine if its connected via OTG cable
should also work fine if you connected via bluetooth
the connectivity app seems to fail when it works fine :/
try messing around with it, i found that once it was connnected via usb it worked fine, was able to play games n all
Ok, i connectednit again the control flashes all 4 lights then after a few, fast flashes ot turns to a steady slow flash, thebdualshock connectivity next ia still greyed out, i tried via bluetooth and it doesnt see it, the cable i have is a male micro usb to femal usb.
Ive managed to.connect the dualshock and it works wired but not wireless, any tips?
Hi, I was having a lot of fun playing with my Logitech Dual Action (cable version) using OTG USB on my Sony Tablet S. Then suddenly the gamepad stopped working, just didn't respond. I checked the gamepad and it's fine and still working on my PC. Also OTG seems to be OK because I can use pendrives on my tablet (even those, I'd say, energy needy). What can cause the problem?
Sounds like the connection is dodgy try bluetooth game pad if it works ok then you can safely say its either the otg cable or the tab

I've been using my PS3 controller wirelessly with my Xperia Z2 for a few years now, along with my mhl 3.0 adapter, it's been brilliant at playing on my HDTV.
I've just upgraded to the official Marshmallow 6.0.1 firmware and noticed that it only seems to have options for Dualshock 4 connectivity.
If I plug the Dualshock 3 in via usb otg, it works, but when I try connecting via bluetooth, it asks me to input a pin number, which I don't have, and shouldn't need.
Does anyone have any info regarding this?
Or even better, does anyone know a way Dualshock 3 support can be pulled from the Lollipop firmware and integrated into the Marshmallow update, if Sony are going to be so annoying as to remove it all together?
PS: I've also tried the Sixaxis Controller app on the play store and it doesn't seem to function at all.

The new Marshmallow update on mine also doesn't show PS3 controller connectivity because the PS3 is getting too old for new software to handle. There is a solution that may help though, and that is the dualshockmanager.apk file (or something like that) that could be ported or installed on marshmallow to bring compatibility back. Make a new forum on the Xperia Z2 help & troubleshooting section and ask if someone who is running Lollipop, can upload the dualshockmanager.apk from their phone. Hope this helps.
Try use old dualshockconnect from 5.1
this not worked :C http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=66367075#post66367075
I have the same problem as you
if you find a solution please cause me to know
I've contacted Sony about this issue and here is their response:
"There have been no changes made to this feature, I'd advise to contact your support team for further assistance.."

Good day guys. I've tried connecting my Ps4 and xbox1 controllers to the device via USB but nothing works. The Ps4 controller connects via Bluetooth after some trying, but still does not register inputs. Both devices run fine on the pc via the same USB cable.
Am I missing something?
Can anyone assist?
Edit: android version 7.1.2
I even tried opening the box and using the hidden ports. Still no controller response. Just lights up but no input whatsoever.
In for info. 2gb/16ram h96 pro plus android box
