Nouveau is not compatible 'enough' with most cards. It always has an issue or two with each particular card. Not to mention people with dual video cards, it is pain in the a** for them!
So here is what I want to say, what if some developers used the Nvidia proprietary driver .run file, extracted it and managed to make it work on Remix OS? Remix is based on Android which is in return based on Linux kernel and drivers that work on one of those should work on the other by some way.
In case this is impossible due to many incompatibilities like Remix OS not using Xorg and other differences between it and normal Linux, what about signing a petition and sending it to Nvidia asking them to provide a driver for Remix OS with help of Remix OS developers?

Hi,
I was looking for some Android x86 OS to install on my laptop, so I came across Remix OS. I very much like it, after going through all of features. However, I found Phoenix OS too. I am just super confused now. Which OS should I install; what makes Remix OS better than Phoenix?
Thank you!
Anyone?
u can install them both, and ur problem solved
Thanks! This initiative is not going to resolve my curiosity.
What I mean is u can try install them both and see which one is most working for ur device or PC cause they have pros and cons between one and another
Remix OS and Phoenix OS are just two Android distributions - both based on Android x86. So in terms of hardware support, they might be similar. Phoenix OS seems more refined and ready for market, Remix OS is still just beta and has a lot of bugs. On the other hand Remix OS has a much bigger community, help pages, forums and users - with Phoenix OS you are on your own.
All that said, there is a third option. You could simply plug your Android tablet to a keyboard/mouse/screen and forget about all the Android x86 fever. Your hardware will be fully supported, have access to an official Google Android build with all the support included and in the long term there will be less hassle. And now with Android N on the way which supports Remix OS like windows, you will never notice any difference. I myself am going this route. I will wait for Android N tablets, buy a sufficiently performing one and plug it to some peripherals - instant Android desktop, fully supported by Google. No tricks, no hacks, no unsupported hardware.
Lol... You're having a bad dream...
You can also install a non windowed version of android x-86, after numerous attempts and a lot of failed boots I ended up using AndEx - Exton Android - http://andex.exton.net/?p=451
Does that mean you paid for it as it isnt free?
Hello,
I'm just wondering if there is a way to install linux drivers on Remix OS. I really doubt that *.deb or *.rpm files are installable, but is it possible to build and install the needed driver ?
In my case, I would like to have my TV PCI Card (TBS 6281 dual TNT Tuner) working on Remix OS. The drivers are available here (http://www.tbsdtv.com/download/document/common/tbs-linux-drivers_v160405.zip)
On Ubuntu, I'm used to build thous drivers and then install them. But is it possible on Remix OS (it needs some buidings libraries and compilers...)
Thank you for your help.
@mathojojo I'd suggest asking this question on Android-x86 group Devs look in there much more often and Remix OS bases off Android-x86 project. These guys may help you port the drivers to Android.
@Ventricle Ok, I will take a look there. Thx
Remix OS uses the open source freely distributable nouveau driver. If it happens to be able to use the Nvidia driver, it sill can't distribute it in its iso. Why can't each user individually install the nvidia closed source driver like we do on Ubuntu and others?

Beacuse this is not GNU/Linux you use daily,it's android. They don't release android drivers for end users. And particulary there's no proper way to install drivers on android,by an end user. Beacuse android was originally developed with embedded devices in mind, not PCs.

Can't we ask Nvidia to 'inject' their drivers in Remix OS system the way nouveau drivers are? We can make an online petition or something. I will make one and post it here on XDA.

Not really; it probably needs a kernel recompile to work. And can't be precompiled/baked in due to the license.
Respected Developers.
Is there any way to Create an Android Project, which is compatible to many devices as Windows OS is compatible to many devices despite of there drivers and screen resolution. in this we can only got a standard OS like Resurrection Remix or any other, what we need just to install the basic Drivers ... Any Idea about that.
Can i run games on this OS like .exe files
No. Android Apps only.

Ok thanks mate?
Btw this is remix is not resurrection remix. And it hasn't been updated since months.
I am talking about Resurrection OS for PC
You're confusing two different Android OS's.
Remix OS (this forum) is a fork of the Android x86 Project designed to run on AMD and Intel x86 devices.
Resurrection Remix OS (completely different forum) is a ROM based on CyanogenMod and only runs on ARM devices.
Either way, it's still pretty much a no. Android is designed to only run .APK files. That being said, you can try using an emulator such as DOSBOX. But, there will be varying degrees of success.

No i know about both OS's , i was telling to that guy who was saying that Remix has not being updated see up
Ah. Well, he's right about one thing. Sadly, the current form of Remix OS has all but been abandoned. There hasn't been a single update since November and the devs have stated that they don't know when or even if they'll ever update this project.
