If your on the latest version ( 2.0205 ) , it is because of these :" com.android.providers.media " & " com.jide.filemanager " ( optional )
disable them using root. i.e open terminal type su and hit enter
and then type " pm disable com.android.providers.media " and hit enter
not type " pm disable com.jide.filemanager " ( this is optional ) :good:
IF YOUR NOT ROOTED TYPE ( alr + f1 ) and do the same thing except typing su
BTW most popular games work fine a part from crashes and OFC no keymapper ( atlest for me tincore keymapper is not working ) if any app/game is crashing open it in full screen mode .
No game works at all
Why would disable those inbuilt settings and there is no terminal that I can locate and not a single game works none of them.
Why would I disable there file manager one of the most important features and one of the only reasons I downloaded remix so

Why would u disable those settings, no terminal appears with your controls, no games at all run on remix NONE. Why would I disable the most important feature file manager. No idea on root there was no option for it in installation which was a 1 click system.

that's why i said it is optional = do it or not it's your wish
BTW you dont need to be rooted to do this as i said above
hold alt+f1 and root terminal pops up then type the above said command NOTE : lag and stutter is only because of the latest update so if your not on the version 205 then this is not for you maybe you need to contact jide for the support

Yes I'm the latest update, what will the removal of the media line do? Still can't get term to show with alt+f1 is there an app that gives terminal access. Games won't run in full screen mode at all just a black screen then crash, in windowed mode it starts to load games then crashes. Hide doesn't offer much support I've tried for ages on there own website and no reply I've tried Facebook and no reply they don't have a listed phone number and no real customer support department it just lists XDA and Google + for support options on there website.

as you said above( 1st post ) you are using 32bit version on a 64bit processor ? why don't you once try using 64bit version on your 64bit processor and see if it works lag/crash free. BTW I don't understand why the heck your not getting the terminal ( first hold alt and keep holding the alt and press f1 ) anyways once remove everything ( fresh install remix os ) BTW are dual booting or just installing only remix os on your hdd ?

1. No point in doing the whole terminal thing, it's one way to reduce CPU load if this is a problem, but it isn't for everyone and it doesn't sound like that's the cause of the issues here.
2. Remix OS is still in beta right now. There are many bugs, features that are missing or only partly implemented, and hardware that doesn't have the correct drivers yet. Jide are working hard to fix everything up, but really the fact that things are working as well as they are for so many people on such a wide range of hardware is actually pretty remarkable. They haven't made a final release yet, so they are under no obligation to fix your particular issues or even respond to you in any kind of timeframe, in fact I think I saw somewhere that they're reading everything but they won't be responding to most people at all because they can't afford the time if they're actually going to fix things. Bottom line: right now use at your own risk.
3. I still don't see the most important question being asked or answered here. Which graphics card do you have? There are currently known issues with many graphics cards, and some ways of working around them are floating around here. Maybe try the following: In Windows, open the RemixOS folder. Now open the menu.lst file in Wordpad. One of the lines should end in CREATE_DATA_IMG=1. Put a space after this and add 'nomodeset' (minus quotes), then save and close. Next time you boot, the CPU will be doing just about all the graphical work, so the missing drivers for your graphics card won't matter. Note that this will make your CPU do a lot more work, and don't expect great performance on 3D games, but everything should run at least.

I tried the 64bit first but it wouldn't boot up.windows is the same. Could only get it to boot with the 32bit version. Yes dual booting windows 10 home and remix OS 2.0 latest update.
It is clearly a GPU driver failure...the same when force using Nvidia GPU..
who else using Intel Q43 Express chipset base motherboard ? If they have the same problem then its unfortunate...
BTW what CPU model & GPU model installed on your HP Compaq 6000 Pro Small Form Factor PC ?...

When you boot up press "e" to edit the boot info, place DEBUG=2 into the script after 'androidboot.hardware=remix_x86_64' so it looks like 'androidboot.hardware=remix_x86_64 DEBUG=2' hit F10 (softly)
Debug boot should begin.
Type exit when prompted, ignore any warnings that might come up concerning hardware not being picked up, type "exit" when prompted to do so to move on. After a few times typing "exit", does an error like this continue to roll up your screen: "init: Couldn't probe module 'net-pf-16-proto-5' "? :fingers-crossed:
i make a video
https://youtu.be/7tdO9nmLBmg
A quick question. Are there any other drives connected?
You could try actually install it onto your SSD from the boot up.. Your SSD would need 2 partitions though.. One is FAT32 (around 3GB large) and the other can be FAT32 or NTFS, it wont make a difference. If you want to know how to do the install from boot then just send a reply asking.
I have just tried with a different machine and I'm getting a full SELinux error. I doubt that there is anything that we would do.. (I'm not pro enough to go reading through the actual OS files... ) Not all PC's are supported unfortunately. Mine is not, I have had better luck running Remix OS in Virtual Box, well... before the latest release at least. Now I'm getting errors that seem to have been around since Android_x86 project began.
Another option would be to try the Legacy version if your motherboard is able to boot legacy. (Sorry, have not tried looking at your MoBo)
My advice (which I am also following) would be to be patient and just hold out for a while. Until the next update comes along for us to try.
More support is intended on being added with every release.
all my files is in a fat32 partitions and work on my laptop is just my pc ... wont works
Are there any other drives connected?
yes i have 4 drive with my pc
If it is working on your laptop then settle with that for now.
No, not other drives would be recommended, just saw them in the debug at the beginning.
The error that seems to be coming up for you and I (this is as far as I understand) has to do with kernel security settings as to what to allow on boot. The issue can arise when certain files have not been given the policy labels that they require to run. So they effectively get denied constantly. This is likely where a lot of the added hardware support will sort things out... I'm also running an NVidia Card.. could be the drivers needed..(although that would not explain why VM's don't work)
Sorry that I cannot help you mate.. This is going too deep into the realm that I know little about when it comes to the actual stuff. I follow instructions when having to make a change to my Linux distro.
I do envy you having the latest version working on a device. My laptop wont boot for me either.
You could try the Andriod_x86 forums and see what the common threads are. Seeing as Jide is using android_x86 as a base.
If anyone else knows more and is able to shed light on the matter, please do so? I am also up to correction on my statements.
I asked the same question on other forums and on google group

I know its not an answer to your question, but have you tried the new 2 February version? I have got it working in VirtualBox atm.
Remix OS 2.0.202 and latest 3.0 now support tincore keymapper perfectly, on Remix OS beta(2.0.201), tincore keymapper can run but there is a problem with the "touch focus" which only focus on the mouse pointer, not on the target keymapp, but in Remix OS version 2.0.202 developer has fix this and for gamers this is a very good thing, thanks to the dev for this:good:
* Install Remix OS 2.0.202 rooted, install appops from PlayStore, enable "draw on top" in tincore apps, and now we can simulate multitouch touch screen Remix OS
note: some report it only work in 32bit remix os and i never try 64 bit rmxos and maybe u should wipe data.img in order to do this,
I am still not able to simulate touch. :|
It keeps focusing on the mouse pointer.
Any help?

How does his work on 64 bit
A better method.
1) Download latest Remix OS.
2) Install it.
3) It is pre-rooted with in-built root manager. Rejoice and praise Lord Gaben. Half Life 3 confirmed.
4) Press Alt+F1. It will open the console.
5) Type the following:
appops set com.tincore.and.remapper SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW allow
Click to collapse
6) Press Alt+F7.
7) Tincore mapper works flawlessly. Rejoice and praise Lord Gaben , our lord and saviour. Again.
---------- Post added at 07:10 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:06 PM ----------
BONUS STUFFS ABOUT TINCORE:
Using with PS3 Controller in conjugation with Sisaxis Enabler:
The way tincore works is simple. Press a button on the controller, and the corresponding software button will appear on the screen. Using the muse, place it where you desire the touch simulation of that software button to appear. Once done, do it with all the buttons on the controller, save it in a profile and then use the profile to play a non-gamepad enabled game.
The app is great, though, badly executed and sometimes very frustrating. But, for a free app, you cannot ask for more.
Hope this helps. If not, praise Lord Gaben.

Even after updating to 2.0.202 32 bit, tincore seems to focus on mouse when I click on a button and select "touch screen".

You should download "Remix OS for PC Hacked Edition v2.0.202" (32-bit) from this forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/remix/remix-os/remix-os-pc-hacked-edition -ota-v2-0-201-t3345968
and copied the "initrd.img" file in your RemixOS folder.
Yeah,you heard it right!
The long awaited feature, ability to map keys for games that are originally developed for touchscreen enabled devices are coming to RemixOs.
The chinese version of RemixOs has a new version (2.0.401) dated 27th June 2016,which claims to support keymapping.
You can check the changelog at https://bbs.jide.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=7351
I wanted to give it a try.but the download was stucked due to the low bandwith offered by server, unfortunately.
If you are brave enough to take a early look,or can't wait for the global release. here are the download links.
1) http://pan.baidu.com/s/1bpibhZT
Code: gbku
2) https://yunpan.cn/OcRUtwhPNKenuX

PS: Those files are hosted in chinese servers,so the bandwith is not super high. You're on your own,and ask google translate for help

There're few bugs that stop Android-x86 6.0 from daily use. For example,Google play services always crash on Intel Gen8+ GPUs,which is not fixed yet.
But the devs at Jide are actively contributing to Android-x86 6.0 and you'll be able to see the results in near future. For instance, the issue of Time being reset in Windows is fixed
in the latest commit, Check the marshmallow-x86 branch at https://github.com/android-x86-mirror
Hmm...seems like a solid release. I will wait for the official announcement and update though. If it fixes my nvidia/wifi/sound issues I might actually start using this

4 Stock file manager can no longer read the partition on which Remix OS is installed
5 Maybe a little more quick because of changes to disk partition access
This may be because it is currently for Chinese users, hopefully there will be more flexibility with the release
EDIT 2016/07/01: After solving problems of getting into root command line, was able to deactivate jide app policy and then went on to install nova launcher, etc. Then using help from @HypoTurtle I was able to do systemless root. Everything now operating well. I will continue testing this 2.0.401 over the next few days for stability.
Summary:
1 No longer locked down
2 Play Store is activated
3 keymapping confirmed
4 Solid Explorer can read all disk partitions by using Stickmount
5 So far seems quicker than 2.0.205

Thanks for explaining the experimental settings.
Was able to activate the Play Store
Pardon the noob question: where do I get the si file to replace the stock one?

I used the remixroot.zip from here. I choose to install remix os in read write mode thus I can replaced the su file at system/xbin directly.
You have to follow the method describe in that thread if you install remix os in read only mode

Thanks. I installed Remix on a Windows computer so I cannot use Ubuntu method. Also I used the Remix installation tool so everything is stock install. Guess I will have to wait for a systemless root. @HypoTurtle are you onto this yet? (lol)

If someone can post the ramdisk I'll compare to the previous version but regardless the current systemless root su/ramdisk.img should work fine; unless it's drastically different.

I thought so too. But when I substitute the ramdisk.img I get to the RemixOS splashscreen and never boots further

In that case attach the ramdisk.img to a post here and I'll take a look.
edit. @lollyjay on your edit above -- you shouldn't need stickmount... check if the partitions are mounted to /mnt/media_rw/hdd*

I Suggest to remove Nouveau\AMD kernel drivers atleast until corresponding DRI modules will be added to /lib64/dri/
Now situation look like this :
if user have dual gpu setup, there is a chance (atleast) that nvidia\amd gpu will be detected as /dev/dri/card0
android then trying to boot only trying to access /dev/dri/card0
i done some experiments - like renamed card0 to card2, android not booted, then i renamed my intel gpu card1 to card0 and android booted.
Do something about it please
@masaykh can you report this here as an issue or maybe even make a patch?
submited issue
@RemixOS_Jason I installed x64 3.0.204 and 3.0.205 but my pc stuck in A N D R O I D [email protected]_x86_64:_
I read on google this and found out this is nvidia graphic card issue but I couldn't solve it
I used Remix OS 2 months ago when LP times with Rufus without any issue. I don't understand why this thing come to me now
My graphic card is gtx765m and my boot option is UEFI BTW
Please help me.

Thank you for suggestion. It worked
There is still random issues with touch not responding right on some devices, incl Surface Pro 3. If you add an option in settings to recycle touch input, it would make a nice workaround for those device owners, allowing them to use RemixOS without rebooting it every 20 minutes. Just a suggestion
any1 could help me?, in this and previous all 64 versions I'm getting this error at boot "Intel powerclamp does not run on family 6 model 23
Intel_rapl: driver does not support CPU family 6 model 23" throughout but system works and hangs in couple of hours or rapidly some times. plz help to resolve this
When I connect to my tv, it is showing on both screen, TV and my laptop. I want only 1 screen, TV. How can I fix this?
@harkaman currently that's no longer possible without fiddling with grub entries. Might not be possible at all

Well now I have updated I no longer have sound. Worked as it should on the last release. This release has done the opisite for me
I don't have pan drive.
I have sd card reader ,can I install remix os wth help of card reader.
Please reply.

@neeraj.lambaa storage media form doesn't matter.
If it's a card reader embedded in your device then you can try, but since many devices don't enable sd card reader device until the system fully boots, booting a system from it can be impossible.
Booting from a USB card reader should work almost always.
I can manually update from 203 to 205 by performing these steps? :
1) Download latest version 3.0.205
2) With Winrar extract the kernel files, ramdisk.img, system.sfs and initrd.img
3) Copy them to replace version 3.0.203
Thanks for the reply.
@salvoplatania that should work

I just installed Remix OS and everything goes well until "Detecting Androix-x86 ... #" (something like that) is when only a dark screen appears and nothing else happens ..
I do not know what the cause of this, but I think the problem starts even when before "detecting Android-x86 ... #" a message appears saying "intel_rapl driver does not support CPU family 6 model 28"
I already played a little on Google with this message, but I did not find anything that solved my problem. Can someone help me?
If it is not possible to solve this error, is there any version of android compatible with "cpu family 6 model 28"?

Dual boot with Windows 7 (same HDD, different partitions).
I did not understand what you meant by "what is you setup". "Setup" in Brazil has many definitions. Here are some possible answers:
BIOS legacy
32bits Remix OS version
ATOM-D425 w/ Intel GMA3150, 2GB RAM
I got that before. I think it was when trying to install it stand alone on a ext4 partition. Since You have Windows format that partition as NTFS. Use EasyBCD and get rid of the RemixOS entry in the BCD.
Download the x86 version of Remix OS here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B5u0FwLcOxHqdkZfYVhlVzdPWms
Give this one a try using the official installer to install it to that NTFS partion. Let me know if that works fine.

Would not that repeat the exact same process I did before? Anyway, I'll try. Thank you.
I post the results as soon as possible
Continues the dark screen after "detected android ...", but at least the incompatibility error no longer appears. I tried to run using debug = 1 since in several other topic it is recommended this, but also not resolved.
In the attachment are the logs obtained.
I only got the Detecting Android screen once, reinstalling it fixed it for me. Not sure what could be causing it for You. This device won't support 64-Bit? because You could also try the 64-Bit version and see if that works.

Yeah that's odd, could be a hardware compatibility issue. I would give this a try and see if this version of Android x86 works. It does not have a task bar or desktop like Remix OS though.
