Hello to everyone reading!
I'm on the latest official ROM and Androplus v25 kernel, rooted and even though I use Greenify and uninstalled everything I don't need I get terrible battery life. Check the photos!

Any advice/tips?

The same bug....After unlocking your bootloader, it expend 1% battery per hour even screen is off.
Many Z5c has this bug, someone said it could be due to different batches of the problem.
You're doing much better than me, I get 4 hours max before the phone is dead, 5-6 hours on a good day. I have to quick charge at lunch time to get me through the workday.
I come from a rooted Z1 Compact. I'm used to 23-27h charges and 5-6h screen on time. Also I'm used to 10 or more custom ROMs and lots and lots of development and user posts! I can't understand how the Z5 Compact can be in this situation.
On top of all I've finally unlocked my bootloader without backing up my DRM keys and now I'm trying to go back to a stock kernel to see if I can remove the Android OS and Android System wakelocks...
I've underclocked my CPU down to 1.3/1.45 Ghz and still I'm not even close to my Z1 uptime.
Is there a way to go back to the stock Marshmallow kernel with DRM patch easily?

I had this bug, and realised that mobile radio was almost all the time on even if my phone was idle. I've installed MobileRadioActiveFix xposed module (from here and it seems to fix the battery drain

This helped quite a bit,
but I'm not convinced that this is the only issue on Sony's Stock ROM,
there are quite a few more drainers - well, if you're unlucky to run into them ...
I gave it a go but didn't work for me...

I guess I will try that - decrease of 10% overnight as well - AndroPlus v26.
Also I've noticed that changes to CPU frequency do not stick after reboot. I'm using Kernel Adiutor and Kernel Toolkit which both have support for big and little cores. What gives?

I'm about to flash the original kernel with SuperSU, TWRP and DRM Fix!

Well I'm on rooted 185 / Androplus v26 and I've managed to get more battery life using Amplify and restricting this:
The results are less alarms:
We're talking about much more hours.
No wakelocks tackled so far by me. Just messed with some alarms by Android OS. Hope I helped a bit...
I've managed to decrease my app battery drain from 60+% down to 40%.
Most of that was from AndroidOS, SystemUi and AndroidKernel.

Wow thats pretty good to be honest. My battery would've been down to 50% after 2hours SOT and 9 hours off from charger. I'm on 185 with Tommy's zombie kernel. I should try this amplify tips, I'll let you know what i get
Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk
Just applied it and charged to full - now I wait and see thx for the hint anyway...
Still the same problems. Even though I managed to reduce the active time during sleep and wakekocks, the phone uses too much battery while ideling. Lost almost 15% overnight.

Well I ended up with a 21h charge last night (3.5h SOT, 23% screen off discharge). I'm not impressed too, so I decided to flash a stock kernel with DRM Patch and compare battery life.
What I really do not like is a phone that will end up shutting down after 1.5 -2h after reaching 10%. I was used to my old Z1 Compact and being out with 7-10% battery and not worrying about my phone ending up dead.
So, I'll report back later!

I read that flashing Cyanogenmod gives you pretty good battery life.
Downside, no bluetooth and camera yet.
Which stock kernel did you use? It would like to try as well...

After updating ICS i root it straight forward, and experience the poor battery life, I waited 3 weeks and calibrated many times, and turn off all the unnecessary services as suggested in the different forums but result is same, before ICS, i was happy with 3 days battery life, but Now, it just keep the juice for 1 day that sux!
Notice, Android system is taking all the juice and its keep "Awake" why not in sleeping mode ? when not in use.

I recomend you to use this kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1521309,because default ICS kernel suck. I'm using I-Scream build 10 (which is a lite version of Nordic .562 FW) with this kernel, and battery drain is about 2% in 4 hours. Also, you should make different profiles (with setcpu),for example when screen is off set profile to 122-460 mhz, conservative mode.

Can we use that kernel on official ICS and locked bl and is there any fc, problem with wifi or bug?
Sent from my Neo V with supercharged ICS ^^
yes,it works with official ics. If you don't have wi-fi issues, flash it dirrectly, but if you have wi-fi issues install first this kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1609617,don't boot after install, and then flash Inteks kernel (without booting between installs). I'm using it on MT15i,and i don't have any lag or wi-fi issue. I don't know if it works with locked bl,because i have unlocked bootloader.
I think after update (wipe) phone is collecting info about battery and some other stuff, that's why your phone is awake all the time or maybe some app drains your battery?
Take a look at my stats.

Nothing to tweak. Besides, what did you tweak so far?
Stock ICS shouldn't drain so much. Do a clean flash again.
Android OS should report higher usage than in GB, but not that high. Do a reflash.

Stock, clean ICS doesn't drain so much.
If it does, ether some modifications are made, or something is messed up while flashing.
Op. You said you've disabled some services and calibrated many times have you thought of just letting it settle.
Flash again, rather than trying to undo everything that you've done. This time give it a couple of days to calm down then investigate if needs be.

Problem Solved
I follow the guide from [Solution] [ICS] Solve battery drain issue on 4.1.A.0.562 [05/07], seems like the baseband 70 was sucking all the juice, after downgrading to Baseband 64 the magic is back

woow, nice mobile network signal. I have bad signal but on BB70 phone works 3 days.
Stock kernel from Sony is good enough to,
you have a charger right peeps?
our phone is not a car, like when you start him and automatic recharge
Hi guys. Just noticed that I have battery drain. My battery life is about 6 hours. I have stock ics rom ( 4.1.B.0.431 ). I've disabled wifi, 3G, set brightness to 35% but have same problem.
Since you are on stock ICS, I suppose your baseband version is
.72 . Try flashing a lower baseband. Check out this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1640641
You can also turn off the bravia engine! Saves some for me! Or juz see which apps eat most of the battery and find a solution for them! Also do u use any task killer? ( battery Dr. Is the best! Its widget is a great task killer!)

BB would not be the problem, check whats consuming battery using 'Better Battery Stats" either here or on Play Store
and to be honest, stay away from crap like task killers
PS : i used Juice Defender Ultimate when i used stock, nothing since custom ROMs
Another way
I use turn off keypad light to save energy too
to do this , first you must root your device and install Root Explorer , then go this address :
/sys/class/leds/button-backlight and change the file brightness to the value 1.
Than change the file max_current to 1, too. Go to /system/etc and than hw_config.sh and change max_current to 1. Reboot & Finished :good:

For stock, non root - your only options are the likes of Juice Defender.
At least root your phone & get rid of the bloatware. You will realize the difference.

disabling the facebook account on my Neo v did the trick for me. Now the battery lasts more than a day under normal usage. You can try that
Here it is, as you can see 70% in 5 hours.
Ever since I switched to using custom ROMs, the phone's battery usage seems to be significantly affected. I initially used AICP, the battery life was pretty good. But then I flashed Temasek's CM13, followed by Ressurection Remix. Since I started using these 2 ROMs the battery seems to be draining even when the phone is idle for a while. Anyway, please comment about the battery life of the ROMs you all are using, it'll help me choose a ROM. Thanks in advance!

There is something wrong with your battery or the way you use your phone.
All ROMs had given me more than 3.5/4 hours SoT, the stock ROM is about 4:10, cm-13 about the same, purity ROM gives the best battery life, I managed to have almost 5:30h, but the average is 4:30. I´m going to try temasek´s ROM and see if it´s good.
I would say just stating SoT without describing usage pattern and usage screenshot is not really wise.
There are times I get 7hrs of SoT as well as 2.5hrs SoT.
It all boils down to what you are using your phone for along with what tweaks you have implemented.

I concur. In my opinion the kernel is more important than the ROM you are using.
Bluspark is also my choice.
So, to get a better batterylife you have to flash that kernel ?
Trying to figure out why my battery life is relatively crappy (usually averaging >8% drain/hour under typical use), even when I'm not using the device.
Anyone on Marshmallow (Android 6.0) able to experience the 'Deep Sleep' processor state? I cannot, and I'm trying to determine if there's a particular app (or more) that's causing wakelocks, or if this is just something I need to live with. Without root, it's nearly impossible to tell what's causing wakelocks directly.
If it is an app, I can try to find it, but I really don't want to uninstall and then selectively re-install hundreds of apps only to find out that the device doesn't sleep anyway (if rooted, I could freeze all user apps and then slowly unfreeze, but that's not an option without root).
To be clear, I'm NOT talking about the Doze feature that comes with Android 6.0. I'm talking about the Deep Sleep processor state that is below the low (384Mhz) processor state.
On all my other previous devices, I've achieved this state - granted, most of these were rooted, and I had custom ROMS and custom governors. This device seems to use the Interactive Governor. Maybe that governor doesn't sleep at all?
Anyway, if one or more of you confirm that you're achieving this state, then I'll burn some more time on it, otherwise....
thanks!

Yes, Android 6. Unfortunately wake lock info is all but useless without root, unless the offender is really obvious.
I uninstalled almost 130 apps, and this far have reinstalled a little over half. The good news is that she's sleeping again. The bad news is that I'm still not sure which app was causing the issue.

Granted I'm using wifi tether but still that isn't good, nor normal. When I'm using the phone it's dying at an extreme rate; Like phones from 4 and 5 years ago would. Battery usage says android system is causing most of the drain. Something is seriously wrong ><

That's just wrong. Did you change out the ROM for a custom one, or just root? You might want to try a full wipe and start over if you haven't already.
Truthfully, a couple months ago I debated not taking the MM upgrade so that I could root 5.1.x. - ostensibly to give me more control over battery-related information and activities. I took the upgrade, and - now that my device is sleeping again - I'm kinda glad I did - Android's getting better at controlling rogue apps and with other battery saving methods (e.g., Doze mode). I guess what I'm saying is that if you can't fix your massive drain issue, you could always unroot and take the upgrade ...

I got it sorted. Back to normal battery life.
I was actually on MM for a while but I had to get another phone because my old one started having some screen issues and the one they sent me had 5.1.1 on it so I decided to go ahead and not upgrade this time so I could root and have xposed. For now I'm sticking with 5.1.1 Now that I have everything setup I'm getting great battery life. I got over 4 hours of SOT time yesterday and today 6/6/2016 I got over 3 hours of SOT and 2 hours of tethering and about 10 hours overall before having to plug in.
Once I wiped after OTA my battery was WAY better.
I'm having a serious battery drain problem that i cannot figure out. I'm on mm 6.0 and the phone won't doze nor deep sleep. I did a factory reset several times and it's still eating battery in a ridiculous manner. Any help is appreciated.

Did you try it after the factory reset but before adding back your apps?
Got any screen shots to share (e.g., from a battery monitoring app)?
Hello! I just bought recently this beautifull phone, I adore everything about it, except - the battery. When I 1st turned it on, it found an update 3,2GB and I applied it, 12.5.5.0 Global. I wonder if I did a mistake, maybe MIUI 12 was better.
Batt drain is huge when idle, 10 or more % overnight.
Gsam app (with adb permissions) says screen and system() are the highest per consumption.
Should I install eu rom (which)?
Or maybe the 1st rom for this device V12.0.2.0.RKIMIXM ?
Give it some time to adjust when fresh. Disable auto brightness and read this https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/uninstall-bloatwares-no-root.4321387/

I'm on 12.5.5.0 and have no battery drain in idle.
Maybe you have to do some background settings.
Me neither, no problem. I'm just getting about 8 hrs of sot. Regular use and 60hz

That's amazing, I can't hit 5 hrs with 90hz, android system is draining a bunch of juice in my battery.
Same here. 4.5 hours of SOT over 24 hrs. Android System is the second most user (10%) after Screen (50%). Not sure why Android System is using so much.

10? My is using over 30%, sometimes climbs to 40... it's just insane
Was on 12.5.5 too and didnt think too much of it until I saw this post.
Was getting barely 3.5 hrs ending at around 12%. Running phone at 90hz
Sometimes I would just charge it mid-day to get some juice.
Had a tough time trying to downgrade to 12.0.2 but finally did and battery I think is alot better.

So, yeah... its 12.5.5 that's screwing our batteries up?
Oh I forgot to mention also that I did use xaomiADBFastboot tools to remove the unwanted bloatware like the services and apps. I did this on both firmwares.
While using stock i noticed a few things . Each update was using more battery. Remember two things.. we have a good processer with a medium to small battery in keeping with it's design so we shouldn't expect the same battery life as the other "thick" xiaomi models. Having said that . I flashed a custom rom and without gapps the phone can last 2 days using camera watching videos and with Bluetooth on listening to music .So if you want decent battery. Start by not updating..using miui is like using google x2 ...so xiaomeme and google are sucking juice with processes under "system" and it is also what's causing heating . Apart from not updating, you must debloat and also root to disable certain gapps and xiaomi processes you can't without root. Next you absolutely must go through all the apps permissions and disable auto start and background battery and data for stuff that are not essential when you're not using your phone. THIS SAVES A HUGE AMOUNT ..just killing backgrounding of google application will save you a few percent. So that's all, no secret sauce . Just kill all the unnecessary background data and battery and auto start or disable google gapps and xiaomi stuff you don't use . Obviously you can see from my post that to get great battery you need to run pure aosp or lineage gsi using gapps replacement like nanodroid and fake store . If you don't want to go that far ,use lineage with minimal gapps and tweak the apps permissions and backgrounding . You will solve heating and battery issues. The problem are the gapps and xiaomi applications getting updated with each incremental update. I have tested on benchmark applications that each update is a little lower in points ..not much but a little worse. So be careful of updating. Sometimes xiaomeme is not refining stuff before making changes to new releases. and you need to imagine just the miui theming on top of aosp is already gonna use battery and processor. So that's my experience with the battery.. Obviously our screen at max brightness will kill our small battery quick, so try to be conservative and use autobrightness . You must also select in cellphone network to use 5G battery saving option. So when you don't use the phone it drops to 4G or 3G to save battery cos with each incremental G the network or gsm and sim suck more battery juice .Try to remember how hard people got hit when we went from 3G to 4G. We had to increase battery sizes quick....
use this application with root to get "better battery stats" ...the name says it all
