Hi all,
I am facing some issues here.
I am having XT1092 with Android 6.0, all stock, no root, no modification.
In storage & USB in settings, it is shown that:
14.67GB (Total used of 16.00GB)
Android OS - 5.67GB
Internal storage - 9.0GB used of 10.33GB
All these are okay, until I go into internal storage to see the details:
Apps - 4.19GB
Images - 424MB
Videos - 8.00KB
Audio - 216KB
Other 1.51GB
Cached Date - 24.13MB
These only adds up to about 6.2GB instead of the 9.0GB used stated.
What could be the problem, and could any of you advise how to solve it?
Thank you.

For roms like cm12 the internal storage is a bit small and I often got a "no free storage left" message. I did a bit of research and as for the Xperia S it is possible to resize the internal storage.
Now it looks like this.
Is anyone interested in a guide how to resize the partitions? If you do you'll lose everything stored on the device and the sd card and need to backup everything.

It is possible to merge internal memory(sometimes called device storage) and sdcard0.(sometimes called internal storage). However it is usually risky business and flashing over can hardbrick your phone.
However there are other ways to do it.
First is to move apps to sdcard, which is done best by Titaniumbackup (It requires root)
Secondly you can use a software likelink2sd which would use your memory card(you decide how much) and link it with your internal memory.
If you have still problems, you can quote me for an answer.
Good luck
Can you explain the process for link2sd, as xperia p doesn't contain SD card?
Hi,
I'am new to the forum and I came here to help other people, so they can help me either.
I have Alcatel One Touch XPOP 5035X with CWM recovery and custom ROM Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 and Windows 7 64 bit. My problem is when I try to transfer files using MTP, on Windows it sas that failed to install driver "MTP USB Device". I tried all found solutions here and out. I can transfer files using Mass Storage but it's really slow.
Please help me....
Thank you
Oh, btw, my Internal Storage is replaced as SD Card, and my SD Card is replaced as PhoneStorage.

Update : It seems that Gallery app and Music app only loads picture/audio files on SD Card. If I delete them from SD Card, they are still showing those files, but when I try to open them, it shows that file couldn't be located. I tried copying files to Internal Storage and still won't open them, like they don't exist. Same thing for notification sound and ringtone, if they are not on SD Card, they won't play. If I unplugg SD Card, everything works perfect and Internal Storage is PhoneStorage at storage settings. I also notice using RootExplorer that SD Card is named "storage0" and Internal Storage "storage1". I downloaded ROM from here : https://youtu.be/3YC72-tgcxk
1 week ago my phone (J5 Prime 2016) recieved oreo update, so
I installed the update and made the phone reset.
New android has took more space than android nougat, and also I've decided to install some game to play, thus I have got less space in my internal storage.
I tried to format my SD card to turn it into internal storage but there is no option for doing that, as I remember there was an option to format and turn it into internal storage in android nougat.

An options has been added to apps detail screen that you can transfer the apps to sd card using that option, but this option only send a few data file, it doesn't send main file like OBB files (In HD game) or cache file storage location (In apps like instagram, telegram, Whatsapp), so it's kind a useless.
Do anybody know anyway to enable Adoptable Storage in my phone?!
Thus anyone can solve? Im also having problem with this after oreo update, can some help us to downgrade it on nougat to have the adoptable storage thanks in advance
Once External storage got adopted you cannot remove it, and the Adopted storage is much slower than Internal storage.
You should not use this feature unless you are desperately short of Internal storage, IMHO.
OS: Android 7.1.1
I recently changed device, the previous device was Android 5.1 and the current one is 7.1.1, but it seems Android 7.1.1 can't do what 5.1 can, it feels like a downgrade overall.
1. How can i set USB so automatically work as storage and charging when specified?
It ALWAYS is set as charging.

The developer options don't even matter, even if it's set as transfer files, it will always be on charge mode. Why add developer options that don't even do anything?
On 5.1 it immediately worked as storage in plugged on storage and charged when plugged to charge.
2. How can i send APPs to the external SD?
Android 5.1 had that option, android 7 doesn't.
It has storage permissions but there is no option to send it to the external SD. APP data that could be send to the SD card on 5.1 without root or anything now must be on the internal storage...that's called a MASSIVE downgrade from 5.1.
How can i make APPs read the OBB on external SD?
The SD is there, the app has storage permissions...but if the OBB data is in external SD, it won't read from it. I would work on Android 5.1 but doesn't on Android 7.
This android feels like an inferior version of 4.4.2 or 5.1, it's unnecessarily annoying by asking more permissions and gives less functionality overall. I can't find a way to make all the things i could on Android 5.1 on Android 7.1.1.
bump.
My phone is Asus Zenfone Live L2 Bought less than 2 months ago. My microSD card is VGen 32 GB 9 months old. All preinstalled app can perform write action to microSD card like move, copy, paste, extract and download without problem. But any app that I personally install always result in corrupt or 0 sized files. Already checked all those apps for SD card access and storage permission. Phone is currently rooted but issue existed since before. Already looked solution on Google but no working fix.
@arjuna17jax
To install apps on external SD-card requires this card is set up as internal Android storage.

I didn't mean to install app to SD card. But to write files using third party file manager, archive manager, picture manager and media player.
