So today I saw there was a software update available for my G5. I did some looking and could not find any release notes for the update. Does anyone here know what the update contains or where to find release notes? Thank you.
Can confirm the update.

I too (along with a work colleague) were pushed an OTA update this morning.
Here's what my software version page looks like now (in text form cause i'm a newbie and they don't allow links):
Android version
6.0.1
Android security patch level
2016-04-01
Baseband version
MPSS.TH.2.0.c1.4-00013-
M8996FAAAANAZM-2.44625.9
Kernel version
3.18.20
Build number
MMB29M
Software version
H82010h
Security software version
MDF v2.0 Release 2
I got it too. I guess I should not install it because they currently working on root.
Sent from my LG-H820 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Well it's too late for me I already installed it. I should've thought about root. Still haven't found release notes for the update. Maybe it's just minor stuff that was fixed?
From Reddit:
SMS enhancements
Bluetooth enhancements
Audio improvements when connected to auxiliary cable (is this the aux hiss fix?)
Alarm Clock update
Google Security Patches
Fix for camera issues with Snapchat and other 3rd party camera apps was not added before software submission. It will be included in the next update for this model.

Thanks! You're the man!
I said no, kept putting it off, then it FORCED update at 6am. I don't know how to keep it from forcing it. Mad! I need root! :/
Mine came pre-installed with this version. The Android security patch level has 03/01/2016 Build no MMB29M. So it's most likely on most G5's already.
Edit: I just noticed that my software version is H8210C so guess there's a new Ota so I checked the update but it says my software is up to date

is there a file that can be downloaded for this H82010h OTA update? Mine is still on H82010c and is saying software is up to date....

Will the LG bridge tool pull the update for you? To my knowledge we can't grab the ota file without root.
I'll try that then see if it works

I had the same issue so I went to the AT&T store and had them to replace the sim card. That solved the issue. I am now on the latest software version. I've had this issue on 3 different devices. Looks like AT&T would solve this problem without having to replace the sim card.

You're welcome you might want to call AT&T tech support tell them to notate your account that a sim card replacement is required to solve the issue so they don't charge you for a sim card just tell them it's not the first time you had to do this to get an ota.

Any root exploit for lg phones since the g3 has involved download mode, updating shouldn't affect your ability to gain root, if there is one thing lg can do its make an insecure download mode, thankfully for us, it will be our saving grace!

The previous week we got the "c" update and today we got the "d" update (I suppose you also have AMALXX suffix).
If you ask me, KitKat is around the corner and may be coming next week, but I am really tempted to flash a European firmware to get 4G support.
EDIT: Eventually, the firmware plays no role on whether you have the 4G option or not.
Hi I just installed the update. The only thing I noticed is the auto brightness setting is not work well. I use in a dark room yet the brightness was like 80%. Previously if set to auto, it will dim around 50%.

Here's a reply I got today about kitkat update from LG
Hi Joseph
Thank you for your query regarding your G2.
I have had a read through of your email, I hope you have had a good weekend. If you have an open market (unlocked) G2, then you can expect the update to be released within the next week or so. If you have one which is locked to a network, then the update will take a bit longer, but this is dependant on the network.
The only exception to this, is people who have a G2 locked to EE. EE have decided (for the time being at least) not to release the KitKat update. If you do have an EE locked G2, then you would be best speaking to them, to ask if or when they may be releasing the update.
I hope my email has answered your query and assisted you today; I would really appreciate your feedback. Please help us to improve our customer service by completing the short survey after this email.
Thank you in advance.
Kind regards

Also, will changing the build.prop to some other region trigger the update?

Yes, that will be the sanest thing to do.
Well, I did go ahead and change all instances of C6802 to C6833 in build.prop. Saved the file, and rebooted.
The good news - the phone boots up and works just fine.
The bad news - the phone still shows up as C6802 in PC Companion, and does not trigger any update to 4.4.4.
Am not sure where exactly it is picking up the model number from.
I locked bootloader and updated without any problem.

I did the flashtool route of upgrading to 5.1.1 as I have in the past using this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/general/4-4-4-creating-rooted-update-package-t2933155
It goes through optimizing apps, then reboots, and repeats this process. I can get into the regular recovery menu with the options to reboots and factory reset by holding volume down, but can't seem to get into TWRP from ZXDualRecovery so I can restore the backup that I made.
Any help would be appreciated. Just want my tablet back up and running.

Care to link me?I can't find it anywhere. My tablet won't pull it and the Verizon update software says it's up to date.
May be best to wait. That update borked my tablet, but Xperifirm is software that you use to download it.
I've used xperitool, tried to ota, used verizon/Sony upgrade tool, got the same email from Sony, and Googled the hell out of this with no results. I'm convinced there is no 5.1.1 update for this tablet and it was confused with the 5.0.2 update going from verizon internal testing to official ota. The z3 phone and this tablet shared the build name. I don't believe it. With that in mind I think you flashed phone firmware and that's why you are bootlooping.

OK if your using flashtool to to update then it's likely you are overwriting the custom recovery with the stock one from the ftf so you should flash twrp again after flashing a ota then I would recommend flashing a prerooted firmware from the general section

Did this file end up working for you? I was on the 5.1.1 and then rooted and later ended up bricking my tablet...the only ftf file I can find is the 5.0.2 internal version and the 4.4.4 kit kat. I've tried making ftf files but whatever I get off xperifirm never shows in the available files box when I'm trying to decrypt. Do you by chance have a stock official 5.1.1 ftf file that is ready to flash? I'm going insane here lol I wish I could make my own files

Hi,
I just got a B11 for my A2017G over OTA update..
It is V1.0.0 so no Nougat.
1. Google security patch jan. 2017
2. Text and display problems fixed
3. Performance and stability improvement
Anyone tried it already?
I'm on B10 and the update size is 133.44MB
Are you B10(6.0.1)??
Because everyone currently is at 7 Nougat we are waiting within this week upgrade via OTA to official 7.1.1 according to ZTE Germany
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Well you should upgrade manually to 7 Nougat otherwise you won't be able to upgrade to 7.1.1 when being released until end of the week.

Well you should upgrade manually to 7 Nougat otherwise you won't be able to upgrade to 7.1.1 when being released until end of the week.

Really? You can't go from B11 to 7.1.1 via OTA?

Not via OTA.
OTA will get only users already having 7 rom installed on their device.
If ZTE released download link rom to make the upgrade manually via micro sd it's possible you can upgrade then.
But we don't know when eventually ZTE released manually upgrade way or not.
Over here you can upgrade to 7 and wait official 7.1.1 OTA until end of the month.

what kind of OTA needs you to be on a manually-upgraded version beforehand? it totally defeats the purpose of an OTA update... did ZTE actually stated that 7.1.1 OTA will be for users already on nougat?

My friends that's what I'm telling above.
According to ZTE Germany you must already have 7 installed.
Take the link above and upgrade.
It's really very easy.
Unless you want to wait for your own reasons.
It's your choice.

If what you are saying is true, then it's dumb as an ass. So, if you don't know how to manually flash software, you won't be able to upgrade?! That is ridiculous!!
I have the Chinese axon 7 and it was upgraded to 7.1.1 a week or so back from 6.0.1 via ota. I didn't flash anything manually.
So, i would guess that would be the same with the other variants..... Sooner or later.

You're right, but I guess they just released the update so that we stopped complaining about the lack of Nougat. And who complains about that? People that can flash things manually. The general public will receive Nougat when it's really ready, I suppose.

Indeed good news from ZTE eventually since many people don't want or don't know manually to upgrade or even worst many users don't read XDA or ZTE forum with result not knowing it they could have stayed forever at 6.0.1.
Good ZTE realize their earlier mistake.

What's the problem kid? Flashing a rom with Axon 7 is a peace of cake:
1) download the rom and put it on your SD card;
2) go to your settings > system updates and your device will find the update automatically, simple as that.

Are you for real? Really?
It was a general statement from what you wrote, which was a load of garbage... As you can see from the above post by zte. They are updating ota from 6.0.1 to 7.1.1. so take your trash and stick it back to where it came from..... Little boy!!!

Hello all,
Any link to download B11 please? Can't find it
Seems it's not yet available.
Take a look from time to time at this site within 1-2 weeks ZTE probably will upload it.

I suspect it'll only be an ota to B10 and not a full downloadable file. If you're on B10, you should get it immediately. I downgraded from 7.1 1 to B10 to try B11 and got it immediately via ota.
Hey guys, I just updated my system to 8.0 and I hate it, I'd like use 7.1.1 again. I cannot find any stock roms. Can someone help me? The 2017.december one would be the greatest.
Hi,
download FlashTool for Xperia devices.
Install the program.
Go to C:/FlashTool/drivers a install drivers (during installation you will meet with list so chose flashmode and fastboot drivers).
Run FlashTool.
Click on Black icon with XF letters.
On the left side find Xperia X and correct model number.
On the right side click on "Check all" and all firmwares will be shown.
Click on "Latest firmware" column and it will be ordered from the newest to oldest.
Click on number ending .252
On the right side click on rectangle with the number of FW.
It will pop up window so click on Download.
Firmware after that is downloaded and converted to FTF.
You can flash it.
I can help if you still don't understand.

Thank you. I got it. I've done things like this before on my Xperia Z1 but it always end up bridging my phone and it took a long time to get it work. I wanted to ask which stock ROM should i pick? There's 4 .252 roms there with different location? is that important? Will i have any signal issues? And how could i update the rom without losing any data? Like when I updated to 8.0, is there anyway all that only the system changes? imgur.com/a/YPWMA

You can update through OTA if you don't wanna lose data.
Pick CE1. It doesn't matter. There might be a small difference but I guess only the little one.

For me some notification's stuck on 1, you know the small number on the top right of the icon. Settings are confusing, maybe a bit slower system, camera laggs a bit, while playing music on t he sony music app if ii start or pause music it starts vibrating or giving sounds if slient mode isnt turned on , even while changing track. awful
I must disagree.
Camera is faster so does the OS.
If you made clean install then there must be something wrong.
What's worse is battery life but the first version of newer Android always is with downsides which might be fixed in the future.

yeah but isnt this our last official firmware?
I don't get the question mark - rhetorical question?
Sony gotta release updated FW of Oreo. It's not working like last 7.1.1.
I'm sure about not getting 8.1 but ignoring their last FW for Xperia X would be a bad move.
