I just want to be able to use the 4GB internal memory completely or at least exchange the 786 MB internal memory for my external sd card.
Hi, My phone was stolen and my brother gifted me a MOVIC W2. It's supposed to have a 4 GB Internal memory. And while it has that, It also comes with a 700 MB Internal Partition where the applications are forced to be installed and another partition for the phone data (like pics, videos, etc). This is what Link2Sd and SD Maid Show:

}
In the first pic, the one that says "Interna 23% libre" (Internal 23% free) is the partition that I'm talking about. The other two "Tarjeta SD" (Sd Card) and "Externo SD" (External SD Card) are the total internal memory and the external sd card respectively.
The total Internal Memory was divided in three: "Interna" for apps (786 MB), "Sistema" (System) 787 MB and the remaining is the usable memory on the "Tarjeta SD" to save user data (1.78 GB).
In the second pic, from top to bottom, it shows:
1. External SD Card with 3.68 GB in total
2. Internal SD Card partition for data such as pics, videos, etc. (1.78 GB)
3. Internal SD Card partition for apps (786 MB)
So, I've tried to create another partition on my external SD to use as Internal, linking it with Link2SD and it recreates the links but doesn't work. I tried to change the Internal SD Path with WSM Tool app and XInternalSD app, doesn't work either, I also tried the Vold.fstab (but this version doesn't have that) and tried to change the storage directive in build.prop but it doesn't have that line for persist.vold...
The phone is rooted. I can't find another rom for W2 with Android 5 or 6, only roms for W1 and W5 (Don't know if I can use those)
I just want to be able to use the 4GB internal memory completely or at least exchange the 786 MB internal memory for my external sd card. I leave some pics below with additional phone info.
Please, Help me if you can.

I partitioned 512mb of a 2gb SD card using the partition manager in CWM Recovery 5.0.2.6 but it's not visible to the rom or any external partition managing software. I can't even find a way to reclaim the missing 512mb. Can anyone help please?

What do you want? To get back 512 MB or use it as an ext2 partition?
If you want to use your all available space then; Use Rmprep usb to format your sdcard. http://www.rmprepusb.com/

Select your drive Select size as MAX, and hit 6. Prepare drive. Thats all....
If you want it use as Ext2/3/4 partition there is a lot of guides in Dev and General section...
Thanks, I got the full 2gb back using that tool. I then partitioned it to 1.5gb Fat32 and 512mb EXT4 in Mini Tool Partition Wizard. For some reason I remove and reinsert the SD card in my laptop, windows tell me it needs formatting even though it is already formatted. If I reload Mini Tool Partition the ext4 partition is no longer visible and I've no way to reclaim it other than using the tool you provided.
Edit: It was a dodgy MicroSD - SD Card adapter. I've got my SD properly partitioned now, thanks.
Hi i've been using a rooted Galaxy S II for a while now, I had the old jellybean 'Ressurection Remix' rom.
Once I did full-wipe on CWM and installed the new 4.4.2 RR rom, my internal storage dropped from 16GB to 2GB...
I've tried multiple things like wiping dalvik cache to solve this problem but I couldn't come up with a proper conclusion.
I think it's partition related problem, but I'm not entirely sure how to solve this problem.
I have a 16 GB internal storage and a 16 GB external SD-Card
*edit: I also have deleted everything unnecessary on the internal storage, there are no junk apps/files.

Your internal storage probably didn't drop. 1 internal storage is 2GB and if you scroll down there is another internal storage (11,5GB)
First take a look in /data/logs, delete the logs (they can take up a lot of space)
That is your phone internal storage for apps.
There is USB-storage (internal storagle like sd) and SD-storage.
it is stated that S2 have 16GB but in reality, its just 11-13GB as the rest space for system file (duh, similar to pc or thumb drive; 4GB on package, available only 3.8GB something for its system file)
for the internal storage to drop 16GB to 2GB, its not...the 2GB space is specifically for your apps, and judging from your image, you have too many apps/apps with big size...

Check if you have any big backup files on your sd card. I once lost lots of sd mem after romnuke, turned out to be some backup files from the wipe. It was lost dir or maybe mybackups. Check if you have any oversized folders on your internal.

Hello!
First of all, happy new year!
I have a problem with my Honor 7. I have a Toshiba Exceria 128 GB SD Card. When I inserted it, my phone recognized it in the parameters menus but it gave the SD Card a strange name: 1489-D352. And of course /sdcard/ cannot be found...
My configuration:
Honor 7
Build PLK-01C432B380
EMUI 4.0.1
Android 6.0
Til I didn't consider as the main storage place in the parameters, /sdcard/ can be found and it corresponds to internal storage. As soon as I declare the external sd card as the main storage, it starts malfunctionning.
As the name isn't correct, lot of applications can't find SD Card path and I have to set it manually for every application that needs to write on the SD Card.
I formated it in my phone, in my computer, exFAT or NTFS. Started the phone with the SD Card, without it, format it before, after... Nothing changes...
Can you help me, please? And forbid my english as I'm french...
i got toshiba 32 gb sdcard working fine as ext_SdCard.... android 6.0 emui 4.1
Thanks for you answer, Thelous. How does it appear when you want to access to it?

Here is what I have...
have you tried using FAT32 format?
Formatting in FAT32 is impossible from Windows. I opened a Command Windows and I launched "format J: /fs:fat32". But it takes a while to foemat 128 GB ! 3% right now.
I'll come back to give news when it's ready.
Volume is too big for FAT32...
Any other idea ?

my sd card runs on ntfs.... (changed when i was moving 5gb+ files and there was limit)
OK, I formated my sd card with NTFS file format.
If it's not main storage location, it's OK. It's named sdcard and everything is OK... Except that there's only 2GB left on main storage !
As soon as I changed my main storage location to external sd card, everything goes wrong.
But, in the third and last screen capture, you can see what Files (correct application name ???) shows: sd card. Correct name but it's the only place it appears so. In other applications, the sd card is named 9CB87....
GAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!
Coucou !
Still no idea ? As it's a real problem for me.
Anytime I insert my new sd card and wait for a while it dissapears and i re-insert but still the same.
i dont know if its my phone but it works ok when am using the pc
Hello all, I need some help.
First of all, my phone is set up with adoptable storage. Before any problems, I had around 3.75 GB used out of 5.51 GB in my phone's Internal Storage. I wanted to migrate data from my SD Card to the phone's actual Internal Storage, so I could format and use the SD card on another phone. I tapped "Migrate data," but it was unsuccessful due to there being not enough space. My phone says "Data left at original location" if I recall correctly. But then the Internal Storage gets nearly full at 5.49 GB used, while all the data still persists in the SD card, unchanged. I've tried multiple reboots, clearing cache and davlink twice, and even deleting many other apps in hopes of updating the storage count, but nothing helped at all. What can I do? Thanks in advance.

Use an app called Storage Analyser. It will help you easily identify which file taking how much size. It is very powerful tool and Plots out the storage structure of your devices internal External and System partitions.
Hit Thanks if helped

Thanks, but it did not help, sadly. I think what happened is that some data from the SD Card was copied over to the Internal Storage when I did the migration, but when it failed, it simply left the copy on the Internal Storage rather than deleting it.
This is the way I did it and it works fine,so I should work for you too..
1. First of all you need to go to the Play Store and download the app called Root Essentials, once you have installed it,we can go to the next step..
2. Open Root Essentials and press on Storage tab and then on Adoptable Storage. press Adopt when you are ready to format your card, but it will ask you to download a zip file you have to flash on your phone so you can adopt your sd card, press on the link to there webpage, they will ask you to download and flash a file call ASPlugin.zip.
3. Once downloaded restart your phone in TWRP Recovery and flash the file you just download, wait until it's done and restart your phone and go back to Root Essentials and do what you did in step 2 and press Adopt button wait for it to format the SD card and then you can migrate your data by pressing on the Migrate Data button and wait for to to move your files to your sd card and its done. Now goto Settings>Device Maintenance>Storage and press the 3 dots on the top right and press Storage Settings and you should see it added the sd cards to the total GBs of storage you have on the phone and it's done.
If you see you are running out of space at all just migrate your data again to free up space on Device Memory.
I have now 18.5GB Used out of 30.4 GB total space. Device Memory 10.4 GB used of 16 GB and SD Card 8.1 GB used of 14.4 GB.
See picture..

I hope this helps someone..
It worked, Just made an account to thank you
Android 7.1.1 (SpaceOS) without AS, installed Root Essentials, but apps never format SD and can't even download ASPlugin.zip.
Can you install your apps directly to sd card now, and what about whatsapp folder, is it placed in internal memory or sd card
And if placed in sd card is the whatsapp running without any problem and not creating folders on internal memory
Update - It worked, done all steps now only internal memory is showing, I tried taken 3gb files from shareit, they are received without any problems
My device was of 8gb storage but bcoz of this I have total 32gb of internal storage
Lets hope I do not encounter any problems in future
Using J5 2015 8gb. Done all the steps but there is a problem coming
When installing new apps no app is installing. See the below screenshot
On installing any problem this problem. Any solution?

Well maybe you should have used the adoptable storage enabler zip for the j5 2015 instead of one not for our device. This thread is not for ours, its for a different j5.
