Anyone able to improve Camera? - Elephone P9000 Questions & Answers

Hey everyone
Since being able to sort out battery life, I'm really enjoying the P9000, but one thing still gets on my nerves, and it's the camera.
All my photos come out with a slight Magenta tinge to them (white balance out) and photos come out a lot darker than they first appear when taking the shot in the camera app.
Has anyone been able to fix this? I've downloaded the Rodriguez patch, but this hasnt helped at all.
Any help with the camera would make this phone almost perfect!

I've found selecting daylight in the white balance settings instead of auto white balance helps but unfortunately this reverts back to auto every time you open the camera app so you keep having to manually select it.

Thanks for the tip, will give it a shot Is everyone getting a purple tint in their photos?

Yeah that's what I appear to get with the auto white balance. Here are 3 I've just take, one with AW, one with Daylight setting & one with Twilight. Turns out the twilight one is the closest to life & as you can see the quality is good so it just shows that they need to get the auto settings right in software as it's no good for quick snaps.

Hello every one,
Is there any way to get rid of the pink cloud that is in the center of the images?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
Could you supply more info please man?
Screenshot of this "cloud" thing, are you on stock or custom rom?
Is there a piece of dust/damage under camera lens?
what kernel are you using? might be kernel related

This is the cloud thing.
You can clearly see it in the center.

This is a known problem on some Galaxy SII and note.
I also have this issue but no big problems here.
The only way to resolve this issue as far as i know, is by
changing the white balance in the camera settings, when you want to snap a white paper without using flash or
Turning flashlight to always on (torch mode), in a third party camera app before snapping a white paper, everything will look as normal.

Yellow tint...is this normal?

I have a TF201 and it has a warmer yellow tone to it.
Watching Simpsons on it looks great but other than that, watching regular stuff the skin tones are overly yellowing.
Here's a picture of what I mean:

The paper is supposed to be white...the lack of lighting in the room makes it look bluish...but you can compare the difference.
Thoughts?
Am I being overly picky here?
Others have reported a yellow tint.
My screen also is too yellow, but I didn't want to return my Prime because of the chance of getting one that was defective in a more serious way! There is a relatively simple solution if the yellow tone is bothering you -- use an app like Screen Adjuster than can change the tint of the display. There are plenty of other apps that may be better, but I haven't tried them.
Note that Screen Adjuster does not have a "decrease yellow" option -- using colour theory, I instead added blue.
Also, if you want something to show up as white in photos, learn to use your camera's White Balance feature!
Do you have it in power saving mode?

Power saving mode supposedly just reduces contrast, it isn't supposed to alter colour balance. I find I have the yellow tint regardless of which mode I choose.

macro mode ?

Hi all .. first time i have chance to play around with the camera today.. so far im impressed ! the only thing i couldn't seem to find is the macro mode ? has the camera actually got a dedicated macro mode ? if so could someone explain how to enter into it for me . thanks in advance :good:
Just stick in auto and take your close up shots. It picks up macro flawlessly and does a fantastic job.

Attached is a crop of a photo of a wasp beetle I saw on our carpet. Picture was in auto mode. The beetle is about 12mm long. If you want, I'll drop the original on Dropbox and post a link.

Leaf in garden, which camera has given a nice bokah effect.
Citreon symbol from steering wheel in car.
Both in auto and camera picked up macro for both of them.

The phone automatically switched to macro mode when getting close (you can see the word "Macro" followed by the flower icon), but it seems there are distance limitations. The attached picture was taken at approx 2 inches (5cm) away. Is there a way to get better focus (aside from an aftermarket macro lens attachment)?

Little help about photo quality

Are you using the wide angle camera, the front camera or the main camera?? The main camera is 16MP and the other 2 are only 8MP.
It does look like you are using the wide angle camera here so the image wont be as good
Hi fellow Austrian
As the G5's cameras support the Camera2 API, you might wanna try manual mode. Using it, you are able to manually set ISO, shutter speed, white balancing and focus, while the last two parameters still contain an "AUTO" function. You can turn it on in the overflow menu.
Here are some helpful pages that helped me
- ISO/shutter speed
- ISO/shutter speed cheat sheet
-White balance

That's the worst contrast I've seen in a while. My first thought was that maybe the lens is dirty?
@Seansmit17 yes im using wide angel but if i dont use it still pictures looks like 8 bit. i will post more pics tomorrow.
@Firefrost Servus i will try it thanks but i want to use simple mode.
@ torax242 no its not.
Still same, is this looks like a hardware problem? Should i send it back? There is no settings or something.
sent back to amazon.... end

Astronomy apps gyro/compass issue?

I just received a Mate 20pro and may have found an issue. I'm wondering other are having the same issue.
I've loaded 3 astronomy apps: Sky Chart, Star Walk 2, Sky View.
If you enable compass mode so that as you move the phone it's shows you what's in the sky.
Hold the phone in front of you and turn around in a circle to a 360 degree turn, after a turn or two, the apps start doing a barrel roll.
I tried numerous apps to calibrate the sensors, but no luck. Oh and Sky Safari does not seem to suffer from this as badly, but still has issues.
Here's an animated gif I created.

If anyone could verify if this is an issue that would be great.
Thanks
