I'm facing problem with flashing CyanogenMod 13 builds through TWRP 2.8 recovery when SD card is being used as internal storage, TWRP recovery is not able to locate SD card storage when SD card is being used as internal storage in CM 13, but I did change some settings I can't remember and fortunately TWRP started showing SD card storage but I am not able to flash anything. However, I recently updated my TWRP recovery and installed version 3.0.1. I want to ask, can I now flash CyanogenMod 13 build through new version of TWRP recovery even when my SD card is being used as internal storage? If anyone did this please let me know.
Thanks in advance

noob).....So i was running TWRP with CM11 on myHuawei Y300-0100 B191, and accidentally flashed the wrong Google app zip with goo manager an ended up formatting my rom , internal storage and right now i have no OS installed....the only thing that's running is team win recovery project & pretty much don't know where to go from there. Also i can access my phone still thro the external sd card still. A little insight would be nice so i know what my next move should be.
I tried looking for the B191 original firmware but cant find it anywhere.
PLEASE HELP
ClockworkMod Based Recovery 6.0.5.1
TWRP 2.8.3.0
I've been working on this old tablet to see if I can get Lollipop on it. In the process I have TWRP 2.8.3.0 & CWM 6.0.5.1 ready for use. This is a flashable zip. If you want to use it on SD, extract the zip and copy the kernel and ramdisk-recovery.ub to your already formatted sdcard and rename them to uRecImg and uRecRam.

Good luck on building cm-12.0. I get stuck on the ota package part.
One of the problem is my fault. I wrote the change that put in the dummy boot.img file to fix the cm-11.0 builds. That more seriously breaks the cm-12.0 builds. You can back out this change. It still doesn't make a flashable zip but it eliminates a kludge that I made. The build will stop complaining about boot.img not having the right number of sectors. Instead it will complain about not having a boot.img. Maybe we can copy our ramdisk.img over to boot.img. Then I got distracted by football season and stopped working on it.
I am hoping that I can use some of the recent changes that Hashcode made for the bn ovation build for cm-12.0. It has many similar features to the encore. It uses cyanoboot and a magic number written to a magic place. Maybe his ota-from-target-files and such will help us.
Anyway, good luck on your port. I'll keep my eye on your github and will post to the development thread if I make any progress.
Thanks so much for your hard work! Good to see the good old Nook Color has not yet been forgotten. I use mine for YouTube and downloading torrents (with Optware + transmission-daemon with webGUI + 32GB SD card).
Thanks for the TWRP 2.8.3.0 update. Been going through TWRP withdrawals since 5/15/2014. Still used it for backups. So nice to do it all with TWRP gui.
I just got a Nook Color last night so I'm very new to *this* device...
I installed this version of TWRP to the EMMC. When I go to flash a zip it will only let me select the internal SD. The external SD is listed, but selecting it does nothing. Is this a known issue? The micro SD card works totally fine in CM11, via MTP, etc.

Nobody has reported an issue flashing to SD. The tablet is slow enough on emmc so I've never flashed an OS on SD personally. I'll play with it and see if I can reproduce the issue.
Thanks for the feedback.

I'm confused... are you saying people usually install to the internal EMMC or to an external microSD card? Would a class 10 mSD be slower than the internal EMMC?
Thanks,
Aaron

Actually, as documented elsewhere in the forums, the Sandisk class 4 microSD card seems to work best; better, in fact, than class 10. I can't speak to SD vs emmc performance as I've always used SD.
Emmc is faster IMO

I missed your original post this morning... but I am looking into why my server is inaccessible.
Thanks!
It was just slow. I got it.Thanks
Thanks for this. I just flashed w/ no issues (It boots into TWRP) on a NC that I haven't updated in a couple of years.... working my way to a modern OS release on it.
I don't know if I'm having the same problem as the earlier poster but I'm having issues with TWRP 2.8.3.0 not being able to mount microSD cards and install roms/recoveries. I can put roms/recovery zips on the Nooks internal memory and flash them no problem with TWRP 2.8.3.0. I can also use CWM 6.0.5.1 and have no problem with microSD cards being mounted. I dont have any problem with older TWRP versions like 2.4.1.0 mounting the SD cards and being able to install older roms. For whatever reason this TWRP 2.8.3.0 version is giving me problems not mounting the SD card and I have tried a couple of different ones (2GB, 4GB) that work in the Nook with other TWRP and CWM versions.
Link is dead, unfortunately.
Not sure if flashing another TWRP build would work, but since this is the recovery it sounds like a bad way to find out.
If someone could rehost either TWRP or CWM that would be rad!
Edit: YouTube video titled "Nook Color To Nexus 7 (Part 8): Update To TWRP Recovery 2.8.3.0" by Everything4Tech1 has it mirrored on MEGA
No direct links because it won't let me.
I applied it successfully. As previous people mentioned the external SD card would not mount in TWRP. Life's tough. I connected a USB cable to the comp, mounted USB storage in TWRP, and put the CM11 and gapps in the internal. I was able to flash from there just fine.
CM11 is not nearly as responsive as CM7.2, but hopefully it will be able to connect to modern apps.
Double Edit: There's an updated CWM on Page 29 of the "[ROM] CyanogenMod 11 Nightly Builds for Nook Color" thread by Steven676 that implies the update is required - use that CWM I guess (an earlier TWRP and CWM are linked by Eyeballer but both seem to no longer work for the new CM11s).
Hi guys. I have a galaxy s2 with cm13 installed . will it was aa very bad idea to install cm13. The problem is that my internal storage is not available anywhere and when I assign my external SD card as internal still get the same error and the recovery mode is cyanogenmod recovery which cannot do anything . mobile Odin doesn't work (says cannot read binary recovery) and cwm app says SD card is not mounted. Also my USB is not working that I can use Odin . anyone can help
There were a lot of warnings that the ROM is highly alpha... I think they said that the only way is to restore a backup of Cm 12.1. But search in this thread, I think it has been discussed before:

Hope this helps.
How to solve the issue of unavailable Internal & External storage in CyanogenMod 11?
Hi,
My details as follows
MODEL – SAMSUNG GALAXY S GT-I9003
CyanogenMod Version – 11-20140902-UNOFFICIAL-galaxysl
Android Version – 4.4.4
Baseband Version – I9003XXLE4
I find my INTERNAL & EXTERNAL memory readable for sometime and then after sometimes it says “NO EXTERNAL / INTERNAL STORAGE AVAILABLE”
And while accessing Internal storage from File manager it says “The operation requires elevated privileges” ” Do you want to change to root access mode?” and when i select “YES” even then it doesn’t work.
I am using CyanogenMod from last 10-11 months and it was working fine but this error cam in last month suddenly.
Please help!!!!!!
Have you flashed correct ROM for exact model of your phone? If you flashed ROM for I9300 or I9305, then it surely won't work. Also make sure your SD card is in exFat format as NTFS causes some issues like corrupting it or being unreadable in recovery.

Hi,
Thanks for the feedback,
I am using this CyanogenMod from last 10-11 months after flashing and it was working fine.
But suddenly it started giving this error, so as per you question i just want to confirm that, is it possible that i have not flashed ROM correctly then also it can work for some time?
Also can you please help me with how to check if my internal/External storage format are NTFS or not ?
Thanks Again for the valuable feedback.
TWRP>WIPE>Internal Storage>Change file system, it will show the current file system
So the same thing for you sdcard
You can also plug in your SD card to computer and see which format it is if you have reader.
My Redmi Note 4x have a question with a continuously endless reboot loop after I add an external SD card (Sandisk Extreme Pro/ 32G) into SIM card holder that it be set as internal storage. However, the OS work normally after external SD card is unmounted.
Is there any way to set an external SD card as internal storage?
32G internal storage is not enough for me~~~
Thanks for anyone helping.

Are you on miui? Or on a custom rom? I don't really know if miui has an option to set sd card as internal storage, but i know custom roms have them. Regarding the bootloop, disable the feature from settings so you can end the bootloop

My suggestion is to upgrade to aosp extended v5.1 since v5.0 isnt going to be much updated plus it has bugs. Maybe that's am issue to the rom. Just boot in the phone without the sd card, then when the phone is on insert the sd card and format it normally. Then u can just copy the zips and flash them.

You can use titanium backup, but unfortunately that's the only thing :highfive:
More a question,if I only back up all the data, cache etc which are existing in AOSP ROM 5.0 except for system, can all things which are described above restore to AOSP ROM 5.1 after ROM 5.0 be upgraded and backup file be flashed via TWRP ?
In a nutshell, I don't want to lost things which were installed in AOSP ROM 5.0~~

As the above friend said, you can use titanium backup to backup all your apps that you have installed and then restore them after upgrading rom. It's pretty easy and from my experience you might have to configure some apps again, but all will be restored.
