Voice notification with text alert

Can anyone tell me how to cut off the voice notification that happens everytime I get a text? I've looked in settings but haven't seen anything that would change it.

Its part of the "voice talk" app. You must have it set to drive mode so it announces everything that happens on your phone. You can turn it off through the widget, or through the app itself.

Yup. That fixed it. Thanks!

Data Usage Warning in notification bar

This popped up in my notification bar so I opened it and tried to close it. After being unable to close it I simply deleted the app thinking that would fix the problem. Now the Notification. is still stuck in the bar but I deleted the app. Does anyone know how I can get rid of that damn notification?
Change the warning levels in settings...under wireless and networks

I deleted the Usage app. So I can't do that. You think I will have enough to re flash the rom to get it to work?

Turn off notifications and use an app like light flow.
Use a different MMS app.
Many ways to skin a cat here.

This.
I use Handcent and there is an option in settings to set the "Do Not Wake Screen" setting.
You need to go into your stock SMS app settings and uncheck notification options though.
As suggested by another user, turn off notifications in the sms app. Download an app called sms popup in the play store. Go into that app. Disable the popup notification. Set the rest of the settings such as the notification icon, notification sound, etc. With all that done, you essentially have the stock app behaving the way you want. I've been rocking this solution along with light manager for a few weeks and it's flawless.

Phone keeps speaking.

I am on viper rom. I have floating notifications installed, and in order to enable floating notifications it has to be enabled in accessibility. I have talk back disabled, but for some reason my still wants to talk back screen selections. any ideas as to why?

Oh nooooo!!! I enabled that the other day, and it took me 30 minutes to turn it off, as having it on will not allow u to scroll down. Go back into it and make sure it's off. Also, under your app settings, force close Google TTS.

I forced closed Google text to speech, and I even forced stopped talk back. Talkback is off in the accessibility settings. Now what I've been doing to see if my phone has stopped speaking, I have been opening up instagram, and every time I open instagram my phone says "instagram news". It also does the same whenever I open the browser. Any other ideas?
