CM13 gamepad support - OnePlus X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just got my Oneplus X and was really excited that the installation of CM13 (cm-13.0-20160511-NIGHTLY-onyx.zip) went very fast and smooth. Unfortunately the phone doesn't seem to recognize my gamepads (PS3 controller with USB OTG cable and Logitech Rumblepad 2, also with USB OTG cable). Both controllers work fine with the same cables on my Galaxy S4 (GT-I9515, stock ROM).
So my question: is there a way to add/enable gamepad support (driver) to CM13?
(I had the same problem some time back with a Moto G 2nd Gen - stock ROM. At the time the answer was, that Motorola didn't include the driver in their OS and the DEVs here at XDA couldn't get it compiled. I really hope that with CM13 it's possible.)
Thanks!

In the mean time I tried the AOKP nightlies (aokp_onyx_mm_nightly_2016-05-09.zip), same result. None of the two gamepads is recognised. :crying:
I also tried the PS4 (DualShock 4) controller, still nothing.

Try an app called sixaxis

I too would love to get my PS3 controller working with my Oneplus X using USB and not bluetooth - tried both CM13 and stock ....any ideas ??

Sixaxis doesn't work with Marshmallow anymore. Android changed something in the Bluetooth stack and the Sixaxis team didn't release an update yet...

[Q] ROM that supports both MHL (TV-out) and Sixaxis?

I'm currently running CM7.1 and really liking it, but it doesn't (and as far as I can gather it never will) support the TV-out adaptor. I'm looking for a ROM that will let me use a sixaxis controller with TV-out so I can play emulators on the big screen. Anyone had any luck with this?
Any stock ROM, as Sixasis supports stock Samsung ROMs since October 19 (version 0.3.2).

Wow, I did not know that! I guess I'll be heading back to stock!
Thanks for the headsup!
I got SGS 2 with rooted stock rom KF3 (2.3.3)
With sixaxis app it looks like everything is ok (I got the message: successfully configured bluetooth)
I successfully changed the bluetooth adress on my PS3 controller with sixaxis pair tool.
when I hit the connect button on the controller, the 4 lights are flashing but I don't get a connection. everything looks good, but I can't connect the devices.
anybody got an idea?

OTG USB Keyboard/Mouse/Pad support

Has anyone tried running keyboards, mouse or gamepads with JellyBean?
I don't have OTG Cable and I can't test any device, but if someone have tested it with the JB update can talk about it here and let the others Desire X's users know
I've tried mouse and usb flash drive. Both work just fine

mouse works fine!
I will buy a OTG cable soon. I would try to test any gamepad device, I have two 360 Controller (one wired, one wireless with respective receiver). I read from somewhere in xda that now it's possible to connect wireless receiver to Android... well, I swear that our DX can support it too! It will be great for emulators like ePSXe...
Does it support USB 2.5 inch harddisks as well? Did anyone test? I will buy an otg cable soon, too, so I would like to know if it works...
well, Joysticks and Controller does'nt work for me
but Flash Drive, Keyboard, Mouse Does
although USB OTG is Very CHEAP
Costed me 30 INR or $0.55
Did you download any app? And what ROM are you using?

I'm using myONEdx+ RC 1.0, finally I got a OTG usb cable today and I tested a usb PC keyboard and a wireless mouse with usb receiver and both work fine.

I suppose that usb HDD without external AC input won't work, I think that Desire X's usb doesn't have enough power for that.

What joysticks and controller did you tested? I will try with an USB Xbox360 controller when I'm done with my exams.

Yes.
Upgrade to JB and you'll have OTG support.

Just got a usb harddrive to work using external power. It's ntfs formatted, so I used Paragon NTFS mount from Play Store. The drive itself doesn't have a power supply, but I connected a USB Y-power cable to it and plugged in the other side to my laptop. Will try a mobile USB charger as well as soon as I'll get one.

But the xbox controller in the video is a wired one, mine is like the one attached in the photo, wireless controller with Windows receiver (also, mine is a third party receiver). Also I tried with others USB PC adapters I have, like one N64+PSX to usb and another one that is 2 PSX/2 controllers to USB, and don't work on it. If I can, I will try on a Xperia Ray and look if it works on it...

Games that works with OTG?

Just confirmed that an otg cable connected to a USB and a ps3 controller can be used on this tablet, particularly the Tab S 8.4 without root.
Was able to play Asphalt 8 perfectly with it. Any other games that are confirmed to work on this tablet? I was looking into purchasing the latest z modern combat but just wanted to see if others have tested it to work with OTG.
mc4 did support it.... i think mc5 will do as well
Mc5 does supports otg ds3 but fc alot .. You can search " controller support android game " for more information
And if you already have mc4 , will you test it with ds3 and tell me if it work perfectly or not ? Mine looks down automatically

Sorry if this has already been posted somewhere else, but
For the benefit of myself and hopefully others, could you confirm the otg usb cable you've succesfully confirmed working on the 8.4, ideally a link to the product page with product info if thats possible? If thats cool

PS3 OTG
Using 10.5 Tab S, USB OTG cord and a PS3 controller to play PS1 games very nicely with FPse. Root not needed, recognizes as native controller. Will not work with root and using Sixaxis to play wirelesly though, but passes the Sixaxis compatability tool though, and controllers mac added to match Tab S's mac as well

Xbox one controller not working through USB otg

Currently not rooted and completely stock. Noticed my xboxone controller doesn't work for some reason.
Works on my s9+ however, and mouse and keyboard through tab s6 usb hub works. So I'm actually at a bit of a loss.
Any input is greatly appreciated, I've tried everything ?*
Just to clarify for myself: you are using some kind of USB C to A adaptor to which you connected the Xbox controller, yes? If this exact setup works on an S9 then I would try a different adaptor before anything else. If the hardware connection really is solid then I would have to think the controller is not supported for some reason. An oversight more likely than not IMAO.
Why are you using USB OTG instead of just using bluetooth?
I don't know about OP, but I do it through OTG to use my Elite controller, since the v1 doesn't have Bluetooth. Works perfectly fine on my note 9, but not on this tablet in the xcloud app. It does work in the steam link app though, so I'm not sure what is causing the issue.
I'm using official Samsung adapter and a third party one. Both work on my s9+. My xbox pad is not Bluetooth. I also tried a switch pad on Bluetooth and input lag was woeful.

You have the exact same issue then? I can't fathom it. I'm an engineer as well so I've tried literally all possible combinations and have proved everything works everywhere. Just not the xbox pad. Strange issue.
Has anyone found anything? I'm having a similar issue with my Moto G8. It seems like some phones can connect and some can't
https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-power/help/wired-xbox-elite-controller-via-otg-t4167763
I also found that The controller is detected via USB/BT Joystick Center but the the keys won't register and the light doesn't come one.

Nvidia Accessories app

I've recently tried to breathe a little bit of new life into my shield tablet, by in stalling lineage OS (14.x) onto it and, so far, it seems to all be working very nicely. However, I have a shield controller and the ROM I installed didn't include the shield accessories app - although it did include the Nvidia Games app!
Is there any other way of connecting my controller, or is there any safe way I can get the app from somewhere else?
Just use an xbox or playstation controller over bluetooth. Used they are cheap if u don't have one and they work great with xbox game streaming etc...

Hello
I am in the same case as you (except that I am lineageos 15.1).
For the moment I have not found for a wireless connection but I believe by cons that it works via USB cable OTG.

Thanks - I'll give that a try as a solution for now, but I'd be surprised if it's not possible to do it wirelessly...
