Hey
I wanted to root my A1-810 with the toolkit.
I had "RV27RC03_WW_GEN1" so I took the prerooted system.img.gz from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2240029
After that I had the bootloop...and I wanted to recover with the original OS from Acer and directly got the prompt "Installation aborted". I also tried to recover with the extracted update.zip from the original OS. The installation started but at the end there was the prompt:
"Remove last update te_finish_update.txt...
assert failed: getprop("ro.product.name") == "a1-810_ww_gen1"
Installation aborted
Factory reset did not do anything, too.
Do I have to send it to Acer? There is no guarantee anymore

HI Techies,
I had successfully created flashable zip to burn on Lenovo Ideapad a107.
But when I try to install it via Clocword Recovery.
I get the below mentioned error message.
Code:
script aborted (no error message) E:error in /emmc/full_a107-ota-eng.zip.
Status 7

Please help me in this regards.
Thank You.
Hello
First of all awesome work by Condi.
I updated OTA my Sony Tab S (Chinese, Wifi 32G) to R5A back in Dec, 2012 (I had no idea I won't be able to root and stuff at that time). Waited a long time for some solution and finally found Aio tool v6.4. Successfully rooted (after some failed attempts due to adb driver problems etc).
followed all the steps in China Device Tutorial v0.4.
Downloaded the official US update signed-nbx03_001-ota-120410004.zip. Tried to install new firmware, but failed.
Gave another try with signed-nbx03_001-ota-121116036.zip but failed.
Searched through forums, downloaded the custom_prerooted_doubleFLASH_R5A_nbx03_016-ota-121116077 firmware. Failed.
Downloaded OTA update using my own tablet signed-nbx03_001-ota-121116036.zip (and catching the update file using Condi's Tweaks and Mods menu. Tried to install firmware but again failed.
Error details
Condi's script doesn't give any error or warning but states everything is ok
ADB driver is installed in both normal and recovery mode (I can check the device using adb devices command in both device modes)
Tablet shows following error in recovery mode (in each case)
Copy System image...
assert failed: file_getprop("/system/build.prop", "ro.build.fingerprint") == "Sony/nbx03_001/nbx03:3.2.1/THMASU0035/0035.001:user/release_keys" || file_getprop("/system/buid.prop", "ro.buid.fingerprint") == "Sony/nbx03_001/nbx03:3.2.1/THMAS0042/0042.001:user/release-keys"
E:Error in /tmp/desklunvr/desklunvr.zip
(Status 7)
Kindly tell me the mistake that I have committed and what can I do to correct it.
Thanks in advance

Having the same Issue as you friend, did you manage to get it fixed ?
I'm attempting to upgrade from 4.0.3 5a (Recovery 3e)
1. Root successfully done with AiO Tool
2. Signed custom_prerooted_doubleFLASH_R5A_nbx03_001-ota-121116036.zip
3. Installed Rescue Backdoor
4. Flash Custom Rom (Signed)
5. Stuck with "assert failed" error as shown in the images here https://www.dropbox.com/sh/7d42bl01j1fivbc/MMr1uXfkSn
6. I see this problem discussed here with no clear solution http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34665016&highlight=assert+failed#post34665016
The AiO Tool says the failure is OK. I'm confused how should i proceed if this failure is expected
Can someone help ?
**UPDATE**
I read further and noticed Condi mention using the Flasher Tool instead.
I tried and it failed as well, started a new thread here
Hoping someone can help me out with what was obviously a stupid mistake. I have a Moto E on which I installed TWRP and then SuperSU for root access. I got a notification about an OTA update to 4.4.4 and I stupidly accepted it. Now when my phone boots up, it goes into TWRP. If I tap the middle icon on the bottom, I can see the following console output:
Code:
Installing zip file '/cache/Blur_Version.21.12.34.condor_retuaws.retuaws.en.US.zip'
Installing '/cache/Blur_Version.21.12.34.condor_retuaws.retuaws.en.US.zip'...
Checking for MD5 file...

assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "condor.umts" ||
getprop("ro.build.product") == "condor.umts" ||
getprop("ro.product.device") == "condor.umts" ||
getprop("ro.build.product") == "condor.umts"

E: Error installing zip file '/cache/Blur_Version.21.12.34.condor_retuaws.retuaws.en.US.zip'

If I go to "Reboot" and then "System" within TWRP, the phone will boot up normally, but then it reboots again a short time later and tries to install the update, which fails and goes into the TWRP menu. At this point I don't really care about the update or keeping root, I'd just like to have a working phone again. Any advice?
So I think I fixed it temporarily at least. Within TWRP I deleted /cache/Blur_Version.21.12.34.condor_retuaws.retuaws.en.US.zip, then rebooted. The phone booted up normally, and after a couple of minutes I got a full-screen notification saying "Update unsuccessful". Phone seems to be behaving normally now. Can anyone give me some guidance on what to do next? From what I've read elsewhere, the OTA updates will fail if you are non-stock. I'm running stock firmware, so I guess the problem is probably with TWRP. If I flash the stock recovery, will I then be able to do the OTA update?
You need unmodified stock system and stock recovery to flash the update.
There are guides in general section to do so.
Check those out.

Root won't make the update fail. Flashing the stock recovery & insuring that you still have all the stock apps would allow the update. I hope you backed that update up before deleting it. I doubt they send another.
First of all, sorry, if this is the wrong forum.
I've got an Elephone G5 and tried to upgrade it with a custom rom.
What I did:
I installed
PhilZ Touch 6.57.9
ClockworkMod 6.0.5.1
Now I'm getting these errors:
symlink: some symlinks failed
E:Error in /storage/sdcard1/elephone-g5-dxp-rom-03.zip
(Status: 7)
E:Installation aborted.
E:read_file_to_buffer: '/storage/sdcard1/elephone-g5-dxp-rom-03.zip.md5' not found
MD5 check: error
Several ROMs didn't work.
When I try to open Fastboot mode, it says "fastboot mode...." and that's it.
I can't get it working, please help me!
Thanks in advance!
Hi, I have a HP 8 tablet running android 4.4.2 in a bootloop.
Managed to get adb sideload going but the 4.4.2 update image I downloaded triggers the following error:
E: Footer is wrong
E. Signature Verification Failed
Installation aborted
Is there perhaps a special recovery img that I can use to get out of the bootloop, without losing data?
Hope you can help!
Thanks
