IR Jack (Jakcom IR) - Nexus 6 Accessories

Hello,
I've bought a IR Jack from AliExpress and I've downloaded ZaZaRemote to control it, but I'm not able to make it works. I think that the problem is that it can't find the correct mount point
Any of you has ever bought a IR Jack???
How did you make it work???
Thanks for help
Edit: I've tried with a Sony Z5 Premium and it's working, so probably the problem is that the application can't find the correct mount point

That device appears to be an iPhone accessory and requires a special app to control only on iOS. The app you have appears to be just a regular IR remote app for phones that have a built in IR emitter like many Samsung or LG phones.

Thanks for answer, but in on of the reviews review I've read about someone with a Sony that was able to use it. Anyway the application is supposed to work with every remote emitter, not only built in, I've seen videos in which they use it with a Jack IR

IR Port is a bit old fashioned. It has been replaced by Bluetooth. But I agree that it was useful allowing the use of remote control programs.
Cheers

IR Blaster question

I got a ceiling fan with lights that controlled by an ir remote, but I cant find any app that support this fan on my s4
I got logitech link that I teached to control the fan but I guess I cant teach my phone those commands.
There is a way getting my phone to control the fan?

You can try Samsung IR - Universal Remote (read the description!).
You can also try to find your remote on remotecentral (but I'm not familiar with it). If you can get the "Pronto code" for your device, you can use the Samsung Infrared Plugin for Tasker/Locale, but you need Tasker or Locale for it. I'm too lazy to google it, but maybe you can find how to use an IR receiver on your PC to get the Pronto code.

Custom programmed Smart Controller

Got my Mate 10 Pro two days ago and been trying to programm IR Blaster for my setup box but when i "code" it with my remote it does not work (it works just fine with preset settings for my TV). No ir light at all (tested with another phones camera).
Any ideas how to programm it ? Should i maybe use another app ?
Thanks
Yeah same issue with my Sony TV and aircon works fine but my surround sound won't register, even when learning via the remote. Worked fine on my old LG phone IR. I'm also looking for a new app, bit of a shame as I prefer integrated app instead of 3rd party.
I'm having the same problem. Preset controls work fine but custom don't. The bad thing is that Anymote I've been using on my old Note 3 and also worked on P10 plus is not working on Mate 10 pro. Did anyone find some app or workaround to make the custom ir learning function to work? As eg. long press that I need to turn on my Panasonic TV is not working in most applications and it also doesn't work in the Pre-installed SmartController
Same with my mate 10 pro. Very limited remote control selection for built-in app. Custom remote not working even though i tried different techniques in programming keys. My xiaomi mi5 had better remote control features than this and it sucks coz the remote function is one of the main reason why I picked this phone. Now I feel like i just bought an iphone.
Has anyone been able to make a working custom remote?I haven't been able to copy any of my remotes from tvs,STB's to AV tools. If you got it to work can you share which phone,ROM version, app you are using?thanks
Anymote
For anymote to work with Huawei mate 10 pro need to change in settings advanced to alternative Ir code
Same for me Firmware B125 )
does it work ?

You got it to work with AnyMote ? free version ?
I got this msg
Error
Unfortunately your phone/tablet does not support IR commands learning.
This is a hardware limitation that cannnot be resolved through software
Same here on the Mate 10 Pro... any ideias ?
do you guys test galaxy universal remote app? I am using this in mate 9 and working OK, make one test for see, I understand the models phone are diferents.
As stated, enabling alternative IR code makes Anymote work, but forget about using learning function with it: Huawei just didn't release the needed API to third part devs.
As for the native app's learning function, I was able to succesfully program custom remotes for 2 devices, and it works fine. But in another case, while I was able to program the signal from the device's remote, that device just doesn't seem to want to receive signals from the phone, it just ignores them. It did behave the same with my old Mate 9, thus I assume that there are devices around which just don't like it, or Huawei's phones don't support some particular IR codes (but why then does the app apparently accept them? go figure).
Same for me
Its still not learning, right?
I have the samme issue.
Does anyone know if Anymote is working fully on the Honor View 10?
I had no problems getting my Samsung TV and Xfinity Box to pair and work perfect. I just have problems with the Roku remote. Has anyone had any luck with Roku?
I found a method that seems to work fairly reliably on my mate 10 pro: hold the phone and remote about 5cm apart, and extremely steadily (I hold the phone in my left hand normally, hold the remote upside down in my right hand, and support my right hand on the top right corner of the phone), then I hold the button down with my right thumb while keeping everything as steady as possible until it registers (should be a second or two unless you are not pointing the remote at the correct sensor). Only had to redo one or two buttons after I started programming it this way.
i used this app very good but you need Chinese app gallery it has the new remote update 4.0.9

I use mi remote app in the google play store and it works very well

Can the IR blaster in face unlock be used as an IR remote?

Since the kernel sources are available I am guessing it might be possible eventually? Someone mentioned in a post that remote IR blasters just work at higher frequencies, so if the hw on Poco supports then.. yes??
Can I use the fingerprint sensor of phone to unlock my home lock?

its front notch has an IR camera, IR emitter, normal camera, earpiece and proximity sensor. the IR emitter could (very likely in theory) be used like an IR blaster. Has anyone tried installing Mi Remote on their Poco F1?
the review page (6) on gsmarena says it has an "IR blaster" but that's probably a typo : (cant post links because this is my first post on XDA altough i've been lurking here for a few years without reg)
ot: please tell me if call forwarding works for anyone natively on the google dialer app when you have lineageOS

I did try installing the latest Mi Remote from playstore having the same doubt/hope.
Unfortunately, it says that the installed device does not support MI remote due to lack of IR blaster. Alternatively, it says you can use the remote via a common Wi-fi network. So I guess it doesn't work.

There must be a way to force it to use the IR blaster, just as you could reroute it to the screen, it just needs something to output 1s and 0s, on and off
Yes you can !!

Either you need a Node MCU or an arduino with a Bluetooth module. So it can act as a gateway between your phone and locking system, thereby you can easily communicate with your HOME LOCK (only for digital locks :silly: )

when i installed Mi remote from playstore i got an error message saying "your phone can't control IR Devices ,You can control Your Mi Tv /Mi box using WiFi !!"
Have a look at this thread

You can use a solenoid or actuator for an extra locking bolt , controlled by a cheap WIFI on/off switch
It has ir camera nit the emitter. Every living thing in this world emmits IR waves which it captures. Hope everyone understands.

I get it, but no. Look up a couple Pocophone reviews on Youtube, some of them spend some time on the IR unlock. If they have video of it working in the dark you'll see a light red flash across the person's face. There is also an IR emitter in the phone. Of course, it would be awkward to point things with the way it's placed but it beats having to buy and bring with you everywhere a dongle with emitter.

That's IR wave l. Beacuase we dont emmit is uniformly. Some place have high intensity and some have low intensity
Actually it's not possible since, the frequencies are not the same, the ir receiver in your tv should not be able to see those that are emitted by your phone. There's a lot of infrared wavebands and the ir emitter doesn't emit on the right one, and you can't change it unless you change the emitter.

I mean you see the line shine from the phone over the person's face like a scan.
But here is a screenshot of the keynote :
(I think I attached it correctly, not sure)
EDIT: and you see "infrared lighting" well that's the emitter.

Actually I'm wrong since the light emited by the blaster is visible to IR detectors (just tested with my Honor 7 ir blaster/receiver) ... So it may be possible, imagining that we could control with enough precision the IR led. May be a good idea to ask to a kernel maker if it could be possible.
OffTopic : Mdr pas courant d'avoir des reunionnais sur xda c vrai xD
Interesting idea
I'd make an app if I knew how to...

Atleast the people are taking the idea seriously now, with enough activity maybe it will catch someones devs eyes and he would push the matter.
Forgot this whole issue, i'l be on watch and post bavk here if I find anything.
I am very skeptical that this is possible. I don't think that the main problem would be a possible slight wavelength mismatch but the needed led modulation frequency. You see, the IR code is not simply encoded by a different pattern of long and short IR pulses but that pattern is superimposed on a high carrier frequency. When the led is 'ON' it's really pulsing on and off usually 38,000 times a second. This is something that's easy to do in hardware but difficult to do in software, specially if you are not running a real-time-OS (don't think that this linux kernel is).
It would be much easier to build a separate wifi->IR gateway.

How to add Bose soundbar to smart remote?

Like the title says I can't figure it out.... so I am here asking the pros. Tv and everything else works. But cannot figure out a way to add the soundbar.

If it's not in the list of suported brands, you can manual set the remote app using the original remote. Click add, then personalise, and after that simply place the original remote with it's ir blaster in front of the ir blaster of the phone and start to configure the buttons. You select the button on the app that you want to configure and press the equivalent on the remote. Hope you understood my little "tutorial"
