Yep, please follow the instructions below.
Enter developer options, and make sure root is authorized there.
Delete file system/smartisan_recovery-from-boot.p
Enter fastboot model and flash in new recovery.
Be careful that the GMS Installer and ROM OTA update might not work if you use a 3rd-party recovery.
Good Luck!

Contributor, as an employee of Smartisan, and it's a company project, not a personal work.
This build is the official international version. You could easily tell from the changelog that we removed quite a few modules that only work in China, say App Store, Game Center, Chinese Voice Search and etc. You could check the changelog and see all the work we made for international users.
Back to the version from the thread you mentioned, he shared our domestic market version. You will find that there's no Google services, and that the default language is Chinese. Anyway, it's not a good option for international users.
In short, both builds are official and developed by Smartisan, one for China market, the other for international release.
Many thanks.....Can widgets be used on screen if so how??
Rom works 100% no issues so far been using it for 2 days nice to have something different to use.
Bluetooth audio works flawlessly for me on this rom, was having pitch bend audio speed up & slow down on almost ALL other roms 4.4.4 - 5.1.1 - 6.0.1 but not on Smartisan ROM.
Clock screen , lockscreen & calc are nicely designed , tap to wake works perfectly overall very well made & stable rom many thanks.

Sorry, no widgets can be used on screen.
May I know which launcher setting you prefer, 9-Grid or 16-Grid? And How you think of those re-designed icons, say Starbucks, IMDb, Youtube, Washington Post and etc? Yes, we re-designed over 2000+ App icons to better match our UI style.

the build.prop file within the zip says:
Code:
ro.build.id=LMY48B
So it should be 5.1.1 .
@xcjchandler I would like to try this ROM, especially as I'm currently using your launcher as default with my current MM ROM. Before that, however, I would like to know it it can be installed over and encrypted /data (that I will of course wipe) and /data/media (that I would rather not wipe ).

Doesn't seem like I can pick up LTE band 12, I'm getting no service in a few places where I used to get LTE connectivity. Anyone else with the same issue? I tried flashing the US modem to no avail. My device is the US model x727.
Having just imported an Honor Note 8, I thought I would create a ROM that met my requirements and share it with the wider community. The aim is to provide a more stock Android experience, removing the restrictions present on Chinese ROMs and replacing Huawei apps and services with those from Google. With this in mind, I went about creating the Google Integration ROM.

Features:
- Replaced the EMUI Launcher with the Google Now launcher
- Updated the integrated Google Services & added the relevant services to sync Google Contacts and Calendar.
- Added in a set of base Google Applications (Contacts, Dialler, Messenger, Gmail, Maps, Calendar etc), replacing built-in Chinese oriented Huawei apps where necessary
- Removed unwanted Chinese & Huawei apps and services
- Removed the overly aggressive Power Genie and Phone Manager to ensure apps are not closed in the background and notifications missed.
The ROM is not rooted - this is by design.
NOTE: It is a requirement to start from the same build that the ROM is based on (B027 for V1, B029 for V2.x and B332 for V3.0). We can revert to a Stock ROM by booting into eRecovery and updating via WiFi.
IMPORTANT: To ensure all notifications are received, install all required apps and then set up the device as per the instructions on my Blog post.
Version 3.1
- Based on B332 with a modified dpi of 440. Please flash the alternative bootloader (link below) if you wish to regain 560dpi.
- If you wish to have a 7 icon tray area, change Settings / Display / View Mode to Normal
- Phone Manager included
- Apps in the CUST partition have been removed except for Backup and the Huawei App store (for Backup updates)
- Google apps updated, further Huawei apps and services pruned.
- Fixed issue where we are presented with multiple options for the Launcher on startup
Please ensure you are on Stock B332 with a compatible TWRP before flashing.
Honor_Note_8_GoogleIntegration_V3-1.zip
Version 3.0
- First release based on Android 7 / EMUI5
- Based on B332
- Stock DPI only, versions with & without Phone Manager available
Please ensure you are on Stock B332 with a compatible TWRP and a mountable data partition before flashing
Honor_Note_8_GoogleIntegration_V3-0 Manager.zip

If you wish to switch between the default 560dpi and the more compressed 440dpi modes, then I have created two packages that change the scripts in the boot.img to change the dpi.
B332 440dpi Boot Image.zip
B332 560dpi Boot Image.zip
Version 2.2
- Replaced the Huawei Dialler & Contacts with those from Google
- Added Google Music, YouTube & Clock
- Removed Huawei Clock, Video, Music and Gallery (Chinese) & the SIM toolkit
- Removed the Chinese CDROM image which appears when plugging into a desktop
- Released as 440dpi only

Version 2.1
- Added Google Photos
- Removed AutoNavi, Stock Firmware Update app, Chinese Speech Service & Hi Board app.

I would love to try this ROM, but I'm not sure how to root and install TWRP. Done all this on many other phones but this is my first Chinese phone.
Man I really want this ROM!!!!!
Thanks for the ROM but as you mentioned, it is based on B022 which is almost 6 months old.
Already, Nougat Beta is out for HN8, is it possible for you to cook a bloatware-free Rom from it. Will be much appreciated.
PS: And preferably a rooted version.
Edit: Sorry, I did base it on B027 and not on B022, as stated initially! I have edited the first post accordingly.
I have put the Stock ROMs (in UPDATE.APP) format on Androidfilehost here.

The Stock ROMs are in UPDATE.APP format - all Custom ROMs, such as mine, are posted as TWRP flashable Zip files.
You will need to:
1. Unlock the bootloader of your device (either through DC-Unlocker or, if you have had an Honor Id attached to the phone for 14 days then via Honor's website)
2. Install TWRP
3. Flash my firmware
There are a number of tutorials out there that may help you if you are not familiar with the process.
So can I dirty flash this over a stock B029 ROM with root or should I unroot first?
And does Xposed work with this ROM?
Many thanks for this, just downloading v2.0 to try. Sounds very promising

I haven't tried either Xposed or dirty flashing - or, indeed, root as yet. I suspect a dirty flash will work, but will retain some of the apps and services I have deleted.
First impressions are very good.
Nice clean interface and so far notifications seem to be working
Only problem I have (sorry) is that I thought v2 was based on B029, I'm on B027 and it wants to update.
If I hit update it reboots and does something in twrp so fast I can't see it and upon reboot is still B027.
No real biggie to me just letting you know.
It's a keeper so much better than standard THANK YOU very much.
I want to try it but ver 2 is 029 or 027?
You have to make it clear this because i have 027 and i dont want to flash 027 again.
It is based on B029. I suspect the firmware version is embedded somewhere within another partition and that is what is being picked up. I only flash System and Boot, both from B029, but there are other partitions too.
Thanks for the heads up - I may have to flash additional partitions to cope with users coming from an older Stock build. If you are already on a B029 firmware then it will say this in Settings.

My mistake, sorry mwarner.
I flashed v2.0 over a B027 install, that is why it wanted to update all the time (I think you guessed that).
I have done it correctly this time V2.0 over B029 and it is not trying to update any more. Sorry for any confusion caused.
All my notifications seem to be working fine, contacts and emails (gmail) all working.
Google voice working fine too.
You have made the phone what it should be for international users.

Yes, if you want to flash this ROM then you really should be on Official B029 first. I have had a look at unpacking the other partitions, but as B029 is purely an update from B027 it is really quite tricky - various files get patched over existing B027 files, and i'm not sure what would happen if you flash B029 over B029.
Bottom line is, install Stock B029 first.
By the way, if you haven't tried the 440dpi version 2.1, then that is BY FAR my favourite.
Unless I find any big issues with V2.1 ROM, I will leave things as they are until a non-Beta EMUI 5 ROM becomes available and start on V3.0.
Hi, Could you do the same thing like v2.1 with b320 firmware?

I don't know when will it be released. I don't use long time, so I can not compare. But design is better so far for me
Hello, thanks for your work, I want to install this Rom but the step 6 is a little confusing, cause I don't know which Rom should install, link of download has a lot of files.
Can you please update this step with names of files to install?

What about the music player? Same or different
I really hope that version 5.0 only comes to Asian phones (if at all and at most) because that's what typically people from there like. But in my opinion, the new style just moves further away from stock Android look and closer to iOS. The skin looks "heavy" and "bloat -ish". The notification toggles UI got worse and the rounded notifications is not useful. It's like a bit more childish theme. Would be nicer if ZTE actually let us and not them customize the notification toggles. They literally removed one of Android Nougat's offered feature here: customized toggles and hidden menu.
this method is working on G model too.
Installed and followed the instructions to the tee. I have the U variant. Phone is not booting into system, recovery or EDL mode. When trying to power on the phone it vibrates and light blinks twice. Same when trying to boot into recovery.
EDIT: I fixed my problem. It just isnt booting after following the steps tho.

Yeah, guess we'll have to wait and hope MiFavor 5 officially comes to the U version. After many months of using custom ROMs, I came back to plain stock + root and realized how much I missed it. Stock ROM with Nova Launcher isn't that bad. I mean without Xposed, not THAT much you can do on custom ROMs anyway, with the exception of a few minor tweaks here and there. At least not with what I want.
@WesTD do me a favor, please. Create another backup and include system, data and boot. I'm going to make a flashable zip.

That is good news! In this case I welcome functions over style as long as the style doesn't restrict them.

It worked on my 2017U. Instead of installing the Google Play Services linked in the OP, I installed it from apkmirror, along with Google Play Store. Worked perfectly. One thing I would like to add, if you are being prompted for a password upon startup, go to TWRP and perform a factory reset. I was and that's what worked for me.
Does Magisk work on this?
It looks like an update came out

Hi all.
We have a fully functional ROM 26s with no fear of bricks, and no bootloader locks!!
First of all, my ROMs are totally open to anyone who has some knowledge of development, and can use my source are no problem at all. I'm just asking you to mention that I developed this source, but it's not a requirement either, I'm just saying that it seems ethical.
The changelog is next:
Re-compiled kernel to avoid bootloader lockdown
Cleaning of Chinese applications
Replaced the original browser with Chrome
Google Play Store and pre-installed Google Services
Contact and Google calendar synchronization
Google Keyboard
Rooted with Magisk
Busybox pre-installed
Small improvements and tweaks to improve performance
Please note that LeEco and its EUI layer is very sensitive to use Google Services. It only serves a specific version and must be placed when compiling the ROM in a specific directory. Therefore, the first thing to do when you enter Play Store is to "force" it to update the services. I use a trick, and that's installing the Linkedin application, which just when you run it needs the services and updates them
The QR LeEco code reader embeds it inside the browser, not in an external application. Therefore, unless we install an app for it we will not be able to read QR codes.
And finally, I have disabled the phone's security check feature, since there is no specific TWRP. So BEWARE AND MAKE SURE YOUR MOBILE IS AN X722 ELITE BEFORE INSTALLING GENESYS!!.
Installation Method:
I assume you have TWRP installed. I've used TWRP for X720 all the tests:
We enter TWRP by pressing the power button and simultaneously pressing the VOL+, until the RECOVERY screen appears.
We copied the ROM to the root of the phone.
We make wipe, the default one is enough.
We will install ourselves, select the ROM and give you to install.

No, only languages that stock ROM.
Nice development! Thanks guys!
This is a big step, thanks Steve
Is 26s an improvement over 20s in any discernable way? They both seem to behave similarly. Maybe 26s is better for battery life or heat output.
Thanks for the ROM, btw.
STEVE_MARS, please, could you make an archive for the firmware via the TWRP, which returns the stock browser and the QR scanner. I tried to recover these files from firmware 20S, but the browser closes with an error. I apologize for the bad English, this is not my native language.

Thanks amigo! Will def try, hope i'll not brick my phone, but if i do this i can still use pay apps and other apps?
My phone still needs to arrive but I guess it will be here soon, maybe by that time some people already managed to install android 7/8 on it.. ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/le...le-pro-3-elite-x722-lineage-os-t3660482/page6 )
Let's see what the future brings but again you did very great work! :good:
No vendor ROM passes SafetyNet natively, and I'm pretty sure this ROM doesn't either, even if you removed Magisk, busybox, etc. and unrooted completely. You may need to pass SafetyNet to use certain payment apps like Android Pay and some banking apps. Even some games check for SafetyNet. Thankfully, you can circumvent SafetyNet by using Magisk, and this ROM comes with it.
You're incredible.
Keep up the great work.
This device needs developers like you @STEVE_MARS
Hi Steve, Thanks for your work. I found only minor things (maybe is my personal flavor) : no network speed indicator in status bar. And also, stock browser have slide gesture for forward and backward which works same as safari on Iphone: it return to same page at same place: if you scroll to the middle of page and move to another you can revert to same place). I didn't find an alternative solution for chrome or firefox.
Thanks,
Andrei

* ro.product.locale.language = en ( or your language)
* ro.product.locale.region = IN or your country
* persist.sys.timezone = your country ( see proper entry here: https://gist.github.com/arpit/1035596)
* persist.sys.meizu.region =
or use persist.sys.oem.region= your country google correct acronym for your country

Me Too!
Yes, I tried it and the same thing happened to me, it must be a corrupt download because people are giving the release a 8.3/10. I found a slightly older but highly rated rogue pig version. ( see same link above)
I installed it successfully and must say, it's actually extremely good.
Corruption
The original newer file is probably just corrupted so I am going to try redownloading it. Until then, check out the other version that I placed in the same megadrive folder see the link above. Yes, it's a little older but its actually awesome!
I just attempted to find the newer rom by cold ruthless on the BBS website, has he been banned. I had a bookmark saved and when I click I get this message " Authors are banned or deleted automatically blocked" Not sure if its the same person or not, if this next download is corrupt. I would still recommend flyme_LEX720_rogue_6.8.3.17R-beta, I am testing it right now and like it alot.

No issue like this. Everything worked. It booted fine. You may have to use the recovery version from earlier in the month of Jan.
Everything worked for me except volte which is no big deal. Really impressive build. Thanks for downloading @tsongming..

It looks like what happened to me when going from an Oreo rom to Nougat, you have to format data not only wipe data. Format data, write "yes" and then install the rom. Always have a backup of your data before.
flyme is one of the best system , the official one is good but it's old , be sure to have eui firmware before flashing flyme .

Ok, this is what I have found. Your original latest flyme seems to be working ok. Here is what I have done. Using RAR apk, I unzipped it, and it complained about one apk in mizu-apk folder, and I ended up removing that folder completely, and zipped the ROM again. It flashed without any issue, but I can't seem to get Data to turn-on. It turns on briefly during the boot, but it goes away. I think if I compare the build.prop from older version with newer version, I may be able to find the fix.

Extremely good, at the moment my phone has no OS at all..
I only glanced at battery life briefly yesterday with Gsam battery tool. Plus, I installed BlackScreen 5.3 r2 which worked fine, I would rather wait for a real answer. Otherwise it would just be a guess.
