Can anyone confirm Band 4 support? - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

It's supposed to support Band 4 LTE and H+ with a change in APN settings. Therefore it should work on T-Mobile USA. Can anyone please confirm? A few guys here on Band 4 in Argentina say it works.

Would like to know as well, bump.

It does work. I have straighttalk with the att lte sim card and i was getting LTE speeds on the vendor rom that came with the note 3 pro but then i upgraded to the official global (was afraid vendor rom was infected with malware) and since im using the official global rom all i get is HSPA+. Cant seem to figure out what changed from roms that i cant get lte back. But to confirm yes it does get lte and hspa+

That's great news. May I ask which vendor you bought it from. There are three versions apparently China, Global and India. Global definitely works but some China versions don't. Don't know about India. I bought mine from Gearbest with the Focal Tech vendor rom that I haven't changed but I have no way confirming which version it is though I suspect it's one of the China versions. Is there any way to find out? T-Mobile H+ is plenty fast but it would be nice to have LTE.

I bought it from banggood.com, it was i think 25 dollars cheaper than gearbest at the time (3gb ram, 32gb model). I was getting LTE and over 25mbps always but once i flashed the official global rom all i can get is a little over 8mbps. This seems to be a common issue as ive seen it posted various times. (screenshot for speed reference. had more lte speed comparisons but i deleted the app once so i only have the only in the screenshot)

It's on page 6 of this document:

If the chargers are the same depends on where you buy it. It will be sold with a British charger if you buy it in the UK, but the MT15a will likely have an American charger.
I is for europe.
Might not work in usa, difrent network signal.

Thanks for all responses!
I have an unlocked MT15a because i live in Latin america, and those are the bands that works over here, however, i'm going to spain for three months, and i was wondering if i could change the 3g bands on my device to work with the european bands. or in other words, turn my MT15a device to an MA15i.
My previous device was a Motorola Milestone, and this was possible via openrecovery.
I think my #2 post is also relevant for you, search if they use the one of the supported frequencies by MT15a in Spain

I think it will work. In Spain we use the 900/1800 band
From Wiki:
"Africa, Europe, Middle East and Asia
In Africa, Europe, Middle East and Asia, most of the providers use 900 MHz and 1800 MHz bands. GSM-900 is most widely used. Fewer operators use DCS-1800 and GSM-1800. A dual-band 900/1800 phone is required to be compatible with almost all operators. At least the GSM-900 band must be supported in order to be compatible with many operators."

International SM-G925F Slow LTE Vs. AT&T SM-G925A

Guys,
Just an FYI, I am getting very slow LTE speeds on my SM-G925F Vs. SM-G925A, in fact I am not convinced I am getting LTE at all, as LTE discovery doesn't work properly on the International version, but does work on the AT&T version. I am getting LTE N/A on the 925F and on the 925A it shows Band 17 for LTE. I have the 4G indicator on the International version, and 4G LTE on the AT&T version. Any idea why LTE DIscovery doesn't work on the 925F? I was under the impression the 925F had all the bands the AT&T version does and just added extra.
Just saw this post. Can you try calling AT&T and see if your IMEI is part of the AT&T network.. according to this post its what they did and got it to work.. same situation initially.. slow speeds at first.

I have an AT&T Galaxy S6 Edge provisioned on the line I am testing the 925F on, so that isn't the problem. It is something to do with the radio firmware on the 925F, even if someone thinks they are getting LTE, they probably are only partially getting it. I can post some LTE discovery and cell signal screenshots in the morning to illustrate the differences as I have the 2 phone sitting side by side. See this post for more info in the mean time.

I update the other post with screen shots. I will post them here as well.
Here are the screen shots, the 925F seems to be picking up LTE this morning down on my first floor where my PC is. There is definitely something screwy with the radio though on it. See below.

A couple of thoughts...
1. The International version doesn't do Carrier aggregation, which AT&T is using now, you can see that in the pictures above.
2. The radio on the 925F is not tuned to US frequency networks very well.
3. You lose HD Voice and VoLTE on the International version.
Now I was content to lose #3, not a real big deal on either of those from me, but 1 and 2 kind of make it a deal breaker for me and I don't want to wait and HOPE Samsung fixes it in a software update.
were you able to fix this issue? Same here with 925F on t-Mobile
anyone resolved this? I'm on cricket and im always on H+ and rarely ever see the 4G symbol come on. however, the internet isn't slow either, about 6-8Mbps down.
I had a G925I and had all these issues. Switched to SM-G9250 which is the Chinese/Hong Kong variant and I use it on at&t. There's no LTE or speed issues. I did head to head testing with iphone 6 on at&t and my 9250 pulls faster speeds. Worth noting that 9250 has the most comprehensive network bands support of all S6 and S6 edge variants.
I also put this in another thread, but I have similar issues with my 925F on T-Mobile. Anyone know if I would bork the device trying to flash the T-Mobile modem on a 925F? Up for giving it a shot if I can be reasonably sure that I will not destroy my new phone. I installed the latest baseband and modem for the 925F from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60112855
I could try the files for the 925T from that same thread and see what happens....

LG G5 Model RS988 will have AT&T LTE?

I'm seriously considering the LG G5 Model RS988 that you can get on Amazon because it's cheaper and easier to get that at AT&T or Best Buy, but will that version work with AT&T LTE Bands? AT&T LTE bands are 2,4,5,12,29, and 30. I see that the RS988 model doesn't have bands 29 and 30. Will that affect AT&T LTE performance? Please let me know. I want to get the phone in the next day or two. Thank you in advance for your help!!!
You can always check the bands that the device supports, though, yes it does.
But is band 29 and 30 critical for LTE on AT&T?

No its not just don't change your imei from the phone you have right now
I wasn't going to change anything. I was just going to pop in my nano-sim from my Iphone and it should work automatically right? Or do I need to do anything else?

No LTE love for me...
I would love my RS988 to get LTE on ATT... I switched from Cricket which has LTE on it, to ATT GoPhone and I only get a max of HSPA+. I can scan for networks and click on ATT LTE but it just fails to register. ATT support said they cannot force it to work because their system shows my IMEI as an unknown manufacturer. ... what?
I already have the same APN settings as listed. I would LOVE some help with that!

Redmi note 3 is not showing any 4G networks

I have Redmi Note 3 Snapdragon version, whenever I search for the networks I couldn't find a 4G network. All 2G and 3G networks are shown.
Is this a problem with my antenna or is it a bug? How can I find out that?
EDIT : I didn't check the 4G before since i didn't had a 4G sim. Now i have Jio sim with me, so i checked it now.
Android Version : 5.1.1
MIUI Version : MIUI 8 (8.0.1.0(LHOMIDG)) Global Stable Version

why you do network search for 4G with 2G/3G Sim, your operator doesnt have 4G and you sim tooo isnt capable of searching 4G network, then y do that even for screenshot, that doesnt makes sense at all.. Your phone is fine and it supports LTE, just use activated 4G sim, it will work definately. your 1st screenshot doesnt have SIM.

General Very poor support for T-Mobile 5G

Does the Zenfone 9 officially "support" T-Mobile 5G? I believe the answer is NO, and that's why 5G is disabled by default. With 5G enabled on my phone, I frequently encounter a complete lack of mobile data, even though the phone is showing full signal. I believe there are certain carrier aggregation combos that the phone is using, that T-Mobile doesn't support (and/or vice versa).
Users on Reddit have noted that the following two 5G CA modes do not work on this phone:
* n41 NSA
* n41_n71 SA CA
https://www.reddit.com/r/zenfone/comments/y47z51
It seems like if you're going to try to use this phone on T-Mobile you NEED to disable 5G.
I have also seen people state that if you are rooted, you can edit QPST (carrier_policy.xml) to disable n41 entirely and it mostly "solves" the problem.
Seems like this is a pretty big problem with this phone that no one is really talking about.
I get T-mobile 5G, but only after dialing *#*#ENHANCED4G#*#* and toggling the 4G Calling option after each reboot and I don't need to reboot that often.
T-mobile US VoLTE 5G mobile data instability fix with root
I was having problems with mobile data through T-mobile in the US that I was have to disallow 5G or else the carrier connection would drop. Sometimes it would reach 4G+, but it would drop the mobile data connection all the time, especially when...
forum.xda-developers.com
Another update.... Lots of people tell me their calls to me go directly to voicemail, so I did some testing. Sitting at home, with very very good 5G coverage, about 25% of the time, when I placed test calls to myself (from another cell phone) the phone would not even ring, just go directly to voicemail. Same problem on wifi calling on my rock solid 1gbps/1gbps network.
If I disable 5G (use 4G only), the problem is solved.
This phone DOES NOT properly support T-Mobile 5G.
I have T-mobile and have been using Zenfone 9 (US version which is C version I believe).
Phone does support 5G for T-mobile, as you can see below. What Zenfone does not support is mmwave 5G which are on bands 258, 260 and 261 from Tmobile. That is also known as 5G UC (ultra capacity) which is usually 250-300-350Mbps network speed.
Just earlier today I measured my speed in Chicago where I had 5G+, and it came back at 192Mbps.... Now which is exactly this 5G+ band, I have no clue, but all above listed is my personal experience, and I live in Chicagoland...
Check your coverage area, and try to get Tmobile to provide you exact information on what the network band is used for the area where you live... That may be the resolution to your issues where you do not have 5G...
Btw: where I live there is just normal 5G but speeds from Tmobile are about 30Mbps for 5G and on the 4G I get about 20Mbps... I can tell you for a fact there is not much difference in what that 20Mbps does for you, while 5G is just tiny bit faster that is all...
My next phone will be Samsung S23+ or Ultra because Samsungs support ultra capacity 5G and are certainly faster on 5G UC than anything I have seen before on mobile phones.
