[BRICKED] No edl, locked bootloader!!! - Xiaomi Redmi 3 Questions & Answers
I was trying to flash developer rom using mi flash in download mode. It was taking longer than usual and I pulled off the plug after more than 20 minutes. Now I'm stuck at bootloop. My device is restarting simutaneously. Can't enter download mode. I can enter fasboot mode though, but the bootloader is locked!! vol(+) + vol (-) + power button takes me to adb mode. tried adb commands to boot into edl, didn't work either... what can I do now?? Please Help!!!
In bootloader screen when you press download button it should go to edl mode, black screen.
yeah me too. mine was on boot loop or if use power with(+) it black and red light as edl but Com10 doesnt appear
And in Power (-) fastboot come but miflash appear strange name 16ca731 and cant flash. so sad,

When you boot to stock recovery (abd mode) you can use Mi PC Suite and R-flash your device

hello, i have the similar problem!
No EDL, No Fastboot, No boot logo and No charging Animaton.
Phone is not recognized as a device in Device manger.
Device manager is showing "Qualcomm Hs Usb Qdloader 9008".
when I try flashing in miflash 2016.04.01 with Fastboot rom, the error appears: "0x80070026: Receiving hello packet"
you managed to find a solution?

Based on my experiences (bootloop no Fastboot n EDL). This step need you to teardown some parts :
1. Remove your Sim
2. Pull (spudger/or your nail) remove the battery cover.
3. Screwdriver, removes the battery connector cover, pull your battery flex. In this state the phone was totally dead.
4. Put back all parts and the connector battery flex, BUT DO NOT TURN / Push the power button!!
5. Plug your usb to the phone (not the PC). While you keep hold the volume +/- togather, connect your usb cable to the pc while keep hold the volume+/- button.
4. Profit if youre lucky now youre on EDL (download mode)
5. Run miflash and wait till finoshed flash.

Thanks for recomendation, but looks like I have little bit different situation.
1. As I explained I have no any visible activity.
2. But if I connect phone to the PC i see new device "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008". It looks promissing.
3. But when I tried to flash it with miflash I got error "Reached the end of the file.(0x80070026 Receiving hello packet)".
No. Positive results. I can't flash it, and I don't know what to do.

Hi.
I tried to flash fastboot roms of next versions - 6.3.31 and 7.3.2.0. With "miFlash 2015.10.28.0" and "XiaoMiFlash(Beta)" (can't find version of this beta) and "QFil 1.0.0.2".
What I found during my investigation. That error happened so quick after start, it looks like software can't connect to device. I installed serial port sniffer to monitor activity of software on port, and I didn't see any traffic. Only few bytes during connecting device. I think that related to drivers. But I tried to do that on different PC with "Win7 x64" and "Win 8.1 x64" and tried with different drivers and of course disable signature checks during my attempts.
What I found in the log of miFlash:

I had the similar problem too with my Redmi 3. And I solved it.
My Redmi was unlocked but, I don't know why, it has a safety inside which lock it if you do wrong things.
I get to installed the original stable rom using MiFlash but only after I used MiUnlock software.
Before that I got same error code you've shown. The phone refused to flash system,data,recovery using fastboot . You can see if you get the same error code by trying to flash it using ADB and fastboot minimal:

The device is not switching on, not entering bootloader.
(most often after the firmware from a memory card)
React to connect charger.
if the battery insert and connect charger, it orage led must be lit .
if the battery remove and connect charger, it orange led must be flashing.
There is only one way for restore bootloader.
Reflashing flash memory in the PXA272 using JTAG.
This procedure consists of two parts.
Hardware (making cable for reflashing) and software (reflashing).
Hardware part:
This pinouts JTAG of Atom Exec, Rover G5, Orsio n725, O2 Atom, O2 Atom Exec
At O2 Atom (not Exec) is the only internal contacts. Located near the Camera button.

In attached file is the programm JFlashmm,
in the same directory BOOTLOADER from АТОМ ЕХЕС (ebo_a.nb0) from First Firmware,
and driver the giveio needed for working cable.
If you have O2 Atom (not ЕХЕС), it must be in the folder jflash_mm Deleted file ebo_a.nb0,
copyng the file boot.nb0 from O2 Atom firmware in the jflash_mm folder and renaming this file in ebo_a.nb0.
Before connecting LPT connector , you want to press and hold
micro button near to the sim connector.

Connect charge to the device
Orange LED is blinking.
If LED not blinking,
Check pressed the micro button.
check fixation the button.
Installing the driver giveio from attached file.
Now you can restore BootLoader.
BootLoader needs to be restored in two places.
Need boot flashing to adress 0 and address 3f400.
In folder jflash_mm there is a file start.bat.
Inside this file:
jflashmm pxa27x32 ebo_a.nb0 P 0 PAR
jflashmm pxa27x32 ebo_a.nb0 P 3F40000 PAR
So file ebo_a.nb0 (boot from атом exec) will be flashing in two places,
To adress 0 and adress 3f40000, data send to parallel port.
Execute start.bat, if all right , you correct making cable,
it must detect processor.
If message screen on "file *.DAT not find", press Soft Reset.
the program will ask you «bla-bla-bla» Y/N? Press Y

Connect the device to PC.
Run update firmware for you device.
Must go update firmware.
If all right, it .......
Operation system update, bootloader update,
Running update ExtROM, but, it should freezes at 6 %!!!!
Disconnect usb cable from device, Enter Hard Reset!!!
Device must switch on, calibrating touch screen etc.
Run again update firmware for you device.

Click to collapse The Atom never had a problem with the bootloader. Its the Atom Exec that has it. Also, the solution the common problems with the Atom upgrading has been posted in the Wiki already.

I dont have the O2 Atom and I dont access to the O2 Atom. The technology will be one, but other pinouts contact (may be)

Click to collapse hey brother, i was in the same shoes as yours a few days ago. had a dead bootloader since i upgraded using SD card... there is a slight chance you can revive your atom this way (which i revived mine) unplug the battery for a few days - then when you plug the battery in, observe the power light and the hangup button, see if it has a very quick red flash. if it does, you might be in luck. now, hold the action button (circle button in the middle) and keep plugging and unplugging the battery in the atom. do the same on the power button and the camera button. mine worked with the action button, and it booted into the bootloader menu again! now im flashing the original rom in the unit =)

Backup data from an LG G5 SE (H840) with broken display
Hi to all, I need some help from you experts I've an LG G5 SE (H840) with a broken display. The touchscreen works, but nothing is displayed (even on boot the LG logo is not seen). The phone works, because after booting up at 8AM the alarm clock starts I'm able to stop the alarm clock pressing on the display (somewhere). The phone is covered by warranty, but sending it to repair, I'll lost all my data stored (pics) that are not on the SD card. If I connect the device to a computer, the device is seen but the content is empty. I need to change it to USB debugging or at least to file/pic transfer, but cannot, because I cannot see anything I was able to boot into "Download Mode" but have no idea if that helps me in any way. I've installed the "LG United Mobile Driver" version 3.12.3.0 and now I can see a COM4. Hey guys wiping a stock P9000 on Ubuntu 18.04 with the SP flash tool using the 20160315 ROM and she's dead. Complete brick, no connection log on usb and no response to buttons. Doesn't power up on plug in. Removing the battery does nothing. Any ideas or is she dead for good?

It should detect easily if everything is well installed and should flash with no issues, from my own experience with sp flash tool, i find that i have way less issues when using it on Windows instead of linux..

Click to collapse Had nothing to do with the Linux version, the scatterfile was wrong for me, put on the 20170904 official build from the elephone.hk forums, that scatter loaded properly and then the phone started responding to the writes. Could be because I'm Canadian, builds for me may turn out to be different than what's typical for the EU?

This is not for soft bricked devices. This is for hard bricked devices that cant go into recovery or download mode. This is for devices on the Version 2 Bootloader like samfail v2 or any normal V2 bootloader. It may work on other bootloader versions with some modification. If you have a hard bricked device let me know and I will help you test this. I don't want to just post the files and have people cause bricks by flashing this to non-v2 bootloaders. People with other versions of the bootloader and a bricked device let me know and we will test some things. If you need this let me know and we will do some testing.
How to Unbrick First you need to install the drivers for QDL. Option A is to install QPST. I think then the drivers will automatically install in windows when you connect a device in edl mode. Or you can manually choose the driver to install if you know how. I will upload both. Get the device in EDL mode. It might go automaticall (hopefully). If not you need a EDL Cabel or Deep Flash Cable. Theres instruction around how to make one. After device is in edl mode and connected to the computer open windows device manager. Under Ports you should see . https://photos.app.goo.gl/ibD8KYy9GVQFvJheA I doubt you will see Portable Devices. I have it because of a special sd card. After you see Qualcomm-HS-USB QDloader under ports your ready to unbrick. Copy the N950U2 FOLDER TO C:\ ON YOUR COMPUTER. Open command prompt as administrator. In search bar in windows type cmd Right click on command prompt and run as administrator. cd to the n950u folder Code: cd c:\N950U2 https://photos.app.goo.gl/VzJjwsU6NWLdyDCc6 type Code: N950U2_Recovery.bat You should get this window. https://photos.app.goo.gl/F7hcuPCCqrci9A1KA type the com port of your edl device and hit enter. Please update to BL v5 if possible. Hey I just gave it a shot to the steps and it did not work. I think maybe because my n8 has a higher BL version, I think v5 actually. Thanks for the post. Hope you could help out updating the recovery to a BL v5. Here are the logs I got. Click to collapse I am having the same problem and I was working off of the guide to install EDL and Root the Phone Here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-8/development/root-t3942403 I have been searching for a way to resolve the same behavior and found this post. I noticed the original Guide I followed did not have me install any Qualcomm drivers, I am HOPING to do so using the ones provided here may fix things. I am also not really happy with the CMD script they used in both this and the other method, it makes the process harder by using a setp to pause at the end instead of a pause or something obvious and by setting the max lines on the CONsole to 40 which over-flowed my screen, so I had to comment it out. Also not sure why they didn't just list the ports in a menu and have you choose or try to guess for you based off how they get it. But thats just somme griping. I am HOPINNG that the FACTORY BINARY >>>>>> screen I get to in my phone is "EDL" it's unclear to me from the info on these sites, rooting guides have continued to become less clear over the years assuming everyone knows every step like the back of their hands.
im stuck here too. its like I have no bootloader, and I cant flash. no download mode, no recovery. No light when I plug it in to charge...just upload mode. the phone was on BL 6.

A lot of people don't listen or read anything and @BigCountry907 specifically said this is for bootloader version 2 and it might work for others with "SOME MODIFICATION" but anyone with common sense would know this isn't going to work on version 5 of the bootloader!!

Can I ask a question. A HOW TO exactly would be awesome. Ok I have Sm-N950U running 7.1.1 you know with the 80% only battery. All runs great. Its the Snapdragon version. HOW can I get it back to before I got it this way. Before I did all this it had.. I forget V6..somthing. Or can you point me to somewhere that really explains this. Getting it to 7.1.1 seem easy vs now trying to get it back. Thanks
