Greetings,
Today my Razr XT910 is showing a weird behavior. The screen is not rotating. The option to auto rotate is enabled, but the phone does not rotate.
Tried a Bubble app and it is not marking any movement.
I installed AndoSensor to check everything and the app reports the accelerometer flawlessly. The screen even ROTATES inside the app! When I close the app, even with the device in landscape and the screen perfectly rotated, the phone goes back to portrait mode and nothing else detects the movement.
It´s a brand new phone (got it last tuesday) Im using ICS stock, rooted.
Any ideas?

I'm currently wavering bettwen Nexus 5 and G2, I like the bigger screen and better battery life of G2. But the location of the G2 screen locking button is annoying, it makes me really uncomfortable.
Yesterday I tried and found that I can lock and wake up the screen by double clicking it, which is a relief. But I'm also wondering if I flash the CM or other customized ROM into G2, will I still be able to do this? I don't like the stock Rom at all. Have you guys got used to the location of the button?
Thank you.

The location of the lock button doesn't bother me, never noticed out actually, but whatever the case is, I think the lock screen effect is a LG thing. You probably won't have to deal with any of the LG ui stuff if you're using cm rom...

Yes, on CM you still have knock on by default, it's built into the kernel. Knock-off is coming soon, or there are mods that add the function back in.

So you tap the screen twice every time you want to lock the screen? But sometimes if you tap on the app icon, it will open the app instead of locking the screen. How did you solve this problem?
No, for off it needs to be a black spot when not in lock screen or the status bar. In lock screen, anywhere. Yes works on custom roms, but on custom rooms knock off only works from status bar unless third party app.
On CM, you can work around by using a launcher such as Nova Prime with double tap options and a free app from the at store that turns the screen off.
Set Nova to double tap = launch screen off app.
I just set my screen off time to 15s and never worry about it turning it off.
On stock LG Rom, the launcher has double tap off built in. You can also double tap the status bar from within any app.
I don't think I've ever used my hardware buttons. It's very intuitive.

Hi all
I'm very satisfied with my S6 Edge (925F) but I'm facing a weird problem: when I unlock the phone using my fingerprint(s), it works perfectly but sometimes it's not the home screen which is displayed, but another random app, (i.e Facebook, Settings, News Republic or other...)
I have to press the back button to return to the home screen...
Anyone having the same problem? (not a big deal but...)
Started to happen to me as well a couple of days back. It's strange because it never happened before and I didn't change anything on the phone.
Never happened to me so far. Are you sure you weren't already in that app when you locked your device? The fingerprint unlocks into the last open app. Go back to home before locking.
Another possibility is that you are tapping a notification before unlocking. Say you have a notification from FB and you tap on it. The screen will stay locked, but it will open the FB app. Unlocking with fingerprints will then show FB open. Same can happen for email, texts, etc. You can also pull down the status bar and tap settings, then when you unlock, settings will be open.

Thanks but not at all.
It happens randomly, either I'm in an app or not (and if so, it's not necesseraly the one I was on!)
Quite mysterious...
I was using Nova Launcher (maybe the cause), will give 2-3 days Touchwiz a chance, and will report back...
Hey guys,
same problem for me. It is not dependant of the unlock method (i'm experiencing it with finger print or regular unlock).
I think it is a Nova launcher bug, only occur with nova for me.

I think so...unfortunately...
I think it's the latest nova launcher beta version that causes the issue.
I'm using Nova since I got the phone, a month ago, haven't experienced this.
I have been having this problem too and was about to start a new thread. I am using Nova too, though I did try installing the google now launcher and seemed to have the same problem. I suppose Nova simply being installed may cause the problem.
I will try uninstalling Nova and use TouchWiz for a bit. Not sure how long I will last, I think I prefer the random apps to Touchwiz.
How did the rest of you get on after switching away from Nova?
I have been experiencing this issue as well but ive been using the nokia Z-launcher. I have a feeling it might also be my fingers inadvertently touching the curved portion of the screen when i hold it.
I have the same thing happen to me. I thought I was going insane. The worst part is, I'm on a note 3 and I'm using touchwiz lollipop. I'm 100% sure no applications are running before I lock the phone, and when I use the pattern unlock, whatever application shortcut that was on the screen when I lock the phone, a random app from that screen will run when I unlock the phone. It doesnt happen all the time, but it happens at least a couple times a day.
Reason
Hey guys. I am using Nova Launcher too. And I have the same problem. I don't have the sollution, but I found the reason. ? When you lock your S6, the touchscreen stays for a second active. And if you hit an app in that second it will open when you unlock your S6.
Sorry for my bad English, I hope someone can do something with this information.

It seems that if the Nova's desktop margin is set to "Medium" or "Big", this problem is reduced, but I don't know if it's fully solved. Will see...
Have you found any other solution?

I think that has nothing to do with it. It could be true that it reduces it, but the only reason it would do that is because:
Mostly when you lock your S6 your fingers touch the side of the screen.
When you set margin to "Medium" or "Big" and you lock your phone, your fingers wil most likely touch no app on the side of your desktop, because the margin "pushes" them to the middle of the screen.
I haven't found a solution. Still waiting for an update to fix it.

Yes, that makes sense. Anyway, if looks perfectly good with marging set to medium, and I've had no issues with this problem since I changed the setting (yesterday). So if it reduces the problem so much, I can live with it...

Great news, the update I got today (4.2.2) fixed the bug. It was from Nova. I think this ends the thread. Happy new year guys. Cya!
Yep, it is finally fixed! Cheers!
Still happening in the latest Nova... running in Oppo phone.
Hi Fellow XDA Members,
I am experiencing a bug (i think) on my Mate 10 Pro (BLA-L29 C636) ever since i updated to .138 (Face Unlock update).
When i'm on "split-screen mode", when i hit the "recent" button, the "other half" of the screen just goes to Home and not opening my recent apps window. This kinda frustrates me while doing multi-tasking since I need to scroll through all my apps and look for the one i need.
I already updated to the latest version, .139, but issue/bug still persists. I already did restore factory settings / wipe cache etc. But still not fixing it.
Maybe i'm missing something on settings?
Hopefully someone gets what i'm talking about and can help me.
Thank you in advance and good day!
It's not a bug, it's feature!

what do you mean by feature? that it doesn't do "recent app window" on the half of the split-screen mode??? Because on .119 update, it just works fine.
I know, as far as I know, they changed it.
I liked the former way more, too.

Damn. Did they post it on changelog or something?
Noticed also some weird stuff when watching YT in landscape mode, it automatically sets you to "vivid" color mode. Not a fan of it either. That's why i only set my device to "normal" color mode. It goes back though when you close YT app.
From my OnePlus 6t? I'm really just curious about how smooth the overall experience is. I already know, that the camera, battery life, and multitasking will be an upgrade. And the size of the phone doesn't bother me. But I'm a little hesitant just because I was hoping for a faster refresh rate (not a deal breaker), and because of LG's terrible reputation for updates and software fixes. So I gues my question is this.. How is the overall software performance in terms of smoothness, fluidity, and just overall performance?

I'll be honest there are some bugs that will be addressed with an update(when ever that is) but over all even without 90hz refresh rate this phone is a BEAST. I get 12 hours of screen on time with moderate use, quick charge 4.0 is quite good on this device even for its big battery, the screen is beautiful and the cameras are definitely awesome. The bugs aren't bad enough to take away from the overall experience but you'll notice some things such as phantom touches, wifi doesn't auto connect all the time, and the app drawer doesn't auto arrange apps but i'm happy. Also, audio quality is INSANE!

Thank you. This might seem like a ridiculous question but does the stock launcher have the ability to swipe down the notification shade from anywhere on the screen? Not a big deal, bit I've heard that it doesn't and that seems like such a stupid oversight for such a big phone. Also can I get rid of the app drawer icon, but still use the app drawer? In other words, remove that icon, and just swipe up to enter the app drawer? Neither is a deal breaker, but just things I've been curious about since I'm unable to go to a store and get a "hands on" with the device right now
swiping down anywhere brings down the content search, also yes you can choose to have swipe up or dock icon or just have apps on the home screen

correct. I have a LG G8 and gestures are very wonky on third party launchers. If you absolutely wanna use gestures then you have to resort to using a 3rd party gesture app like Fluid Navigation Gestures.
I recently moved from the OnePlus 6t to this phone. Since both phones are 60 hz, I don't miss anything there. I love having the pen functionality and stereo speakers, and games are completely better with the dual screen even if I don't play much. I thought I always had great battery on the OnePlus, but it is even better with the V60. Last charge cycle I got about 10 hours screen on time, about 2-3 hours more than on my 6t. One of my main reasons for going back to LG (I previously owned LG V20 and V30) was the headphone jack and sound quality. I have extra dongles just to use my headphones. I constantly swipe down though when trying to open the notification shade, so I just wish that function were there. Got a security update today, actually ahead of my OnePlus phone at the moment, but I know software updates will be a major letdown. This hardware is fantastic though! You will surely enjoy this phone as an upgrade to the OnePlus 6t imo...

If you're not on Android 10, I believe it's not broken
I went from a rooted LG V30+ to an unrooted LG V60 (both with AT&T), and I absolutely love this phone so far.
I mean, yeah, the V30+ is pretty old, so there's no way this wasn't going to be an upgrade in just about every category, but I'm still very, very pleased with the phone.
On the V30+ (which at the time I was using it, was still stuck on Android 8), I replaced LG's crappy Home Launcher with Nova Launcher Prime and added Fluid Navigation Gestures (since there were no stock gestures on Android 8).
I'm happy to report that with a quick permission granted via ADB, Nova Launcher + FNG are working exactly as they did on the V30+, even without root. This includes hiding the Navigation Bar (which is what I accomplished via that ADB permissions thing). And of course, Nova lets you swipe down from anywhere to pull down the notifications shade, and swipe up to pull up your Apps panel. You can set up similar triggers with FNG, but I find that's unnecessary.
I'm completely ignoring Android 10's stock gestures, as I got so used to FNG and it's just so damn pretty besides. I'm also circumventing any conflicts that may exist with stock Android 10 gestures and third-party launchers. Hell, I was even able to backup my V30's Nova Launcher settings and screen/icon pack and layouts to Google Drive and restore that backup on the V60 without any issue whatsoever (once I reinstalled all the apps I wanted, of course).
I couldn't be happier. This will be the first Android phone ever I don't root, and frankly, I don't think I'll even miss it!
Oh, and for what its worth, the phone came from AT&T with the February 2020 Android security patch, and a few days ago, an April 2020 security patch came down the pipe.
Coming from the V30, I'm VERY well aware how awful LG's software update release schedule is, so consider me pleasantly surprised.

Yeah I've used nova off and on for years, it actually works fine without adb but I've noticed if try to open a "pop up window" it works, but then it breaks the recents menu and you have to reset it. Will using these adb commands fix that? I'm out of the loop on it because my 6t was rooted and running a custom ROM so I didn't have to deal with it

I have never used a pop-up window and honestly don't know what that is. I don't think that existed on my LG V30.
And I probably should have been more specific. I used ADB to grant Fluid Navigation Gestures an extra permission that allows it to hide the Navigation Bar without root access.
I don't think I needed to grant Nova any permissions via ADB. But I should run through Nova's settings and double-check.
My V30 was also rooted, though I stuck with the stock ROM. So I'm new to the whole "permissions via ADB" thing, but find that it's a viable work-around.
The important thing is that it persists through reboots, so it's a set-it-and-forget-it kind of thing.
I'll test the pop-up window thing and report back.
Edit - I just tried using Chrome and WhatsApp simultaneous via the pop-up windows functionality, dragged them around the screen, dismissed them, etc., and had absolutely no issues whatsoever triggering the Recents panel with Fluid Navigation Gestures. I even set up new pop-up windows and used FNG to pull up Recents and close the pop-ups with the Clear All button. Again, no issues. But I'm using FNG to power all of my navigation gestures minus the swipe down from anywhere for the Notifications Shade and swipe up for All Apps, which I let Nova handle.
And thanks for inadvertently teaching me something new! I may actually use these pop-up windows going forward!
Thanks for explaining that to me. I'm not using FNG just Nova. So maybe that's why it screws up the recents for me. It's not a big deal to me just something that I noticed. But I would like to be able to use a 3rd party launchers without bugs like this.
