Hi,
i have a problem. i used a guide on highonandroid how to root the galaxy s6 on 6.0.1.
after rooting using twrp 3.0.0 and installing supersu 2.52 the phone was rooted and i experienced no problems at all.
2 days later i get a notification from supersu that the binary needs to be updated, so when i clicked it, it restarted my phone. since then my phone wont come out of twrp boot. every time i restart my phone it ends up in twrp.
i really have no idea what to do and how to fix my problem. i have been looking online for the past three hours, but i dont know what to do. i am currently downloading a stock rom for the galaxy S6, but its downloading very slowly and its gonna take at least another 4/5 hours.
Does somebody have any ideas what i can do? I have no idea what kernel i am using and i did not make a back up (stupid i know)
sorry for the bad english, hope somebody can help

It may help if you post this in the Galaxy S6 forums. If there are others having this issue then you will most likely find it there. As for a quick fix, if you are in a bootloop then your device still has life. Just get into download mode and flash that stock image. Usually starting back over and doing a clean install is the best approach.

A couple of weeks ago I bought a Galaxy Note 2 from Simple Mobile began to experiment with it. Later on I managed to root it, but I accidentally flashed a recovery via Rom Manager which after a restart broke my phone.
After that I flashed a OTA through Odin of Verizon 4.1.2. The system booted and everything but the radio was missing meaning that I could not text or use 3G. I looked for many ways to restore it but none worked.
I later on flashed a T-Mobile ROM thinking it will help restore the radio and it did successfully flash the ROM through the recovery. But the ROM turned out to be 4.3 and the radio still didn't work. Later on in the same day I flashed an OTA of T-Mobile through Odin and that's when this happened. My phone bootloops really fast when I turn it on. The recovery doesn't show up at all. And every time I flash anything through Odin it fails. I've felt ashamed all this time and it took me a while to reflect and face what I've done and decided to post on here to get help.
Thanks for reading! Any help is appreciated. I will try every method that gets posted and will post back results.

I have a very similar problem. hope you get help on this, I have been trying to fix this problem for a month.
The 4.3 update is where the issue came from if it will allow you to flash try using a custom rom to get you out the boot loop but because the 4.3 bootloader is locked you now have another issue you will now have to run a virtual rom and there is a certain way you have to do it or you will completely brick your phone try researching first Google your phone model with the rom build 4.3 root you have to root it now before you can do any modifications at this point

Help me please! My Galaxy GT S7392 when it comes to boot, it keeps reapeting the same boot animation and doesnt boot!!!
Now, i'm gonna tell you what i did befor this problem and i thinks is the cause
I was going to do a root, just a root because i wanted to unistall some problems and i did root on another galaxy tablet it went well so i felt confident about this even tho i was about to lost my galaxy GT S7392 warranty (and i think i just did lost omg)
then it wen everything well, installed the binary, superuser, all fine at the first time. Then i check if its really rooted and the RootChecker says it isnt rooted. So... I repeated the whole progress, and i think is in this moment i make the mistake.
I installed the binary again and then i was going to the recovery mode after that and then... I couldnt went there in time and i saw the boot animation taking FOREVER! I decided to search for a solution, but i couldnt found anything!
Thanks for the help!
PS : No, i dont have a Customized ROM. Yes, i tried to do a Factory Reset by Recovery Mode when i could went there and did a Cache Wipe, restarted, and the boot stays the same. No, no one warned me about some kind of recovery.
Sorry for my bad english

Ok, so I've rooted and put custom roms on numerous phones. I've been trying to put a custom recovery, twrp or cwm, whatever, on my wife's phone, but have got a wall. I know for sure, 100% that I am rooted. I tired to install twrp and cwm via their respective apps, ends up in either bootloop trying to boot into recovery (and FYI, the screen shows that a custom recovery is installed, just doesn't load into recovery and restarts). And tried both via Odin, but got the same result. Have never ran into this problem before with any of my phone's, all of the galaxy's and Galaxy Note's since the S2. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks homies!
Just to add, yes I made sure double checked, triple checked that I was installing the correct recovery for the phone model. Also, she has done all the ota updates that sprint has pushed as of last week (2/9/15).

OK, from your post it looks like you have done this before. To be sure lets go through the motions one more time.
Your device is updated to 4.4.4 NK4 the latest KitKat version. It's rooted you have supersu icon and run a root checker. First download again ( in case you got a bad download ) a copy of Philz CWM version 6.48.4 here is the link https://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/hlte/ use "phil'z_touch_6.48.6-hlte.tar.md5" . I like to use odin version v1.85 it's little older but very stable, here is a link https://mega.co.nz/#!oA5xzTAL!LXoVWB...ZlOMSWdRGVX6Uo now flash the .tar file with odin. Make sure you let device boot up on it's own back to the OS, do not pull the cable and boot the device yourself. Then try and boot into recovery.
If it bootloops again, I would backup all your data to the PC desktop, and then do a factory reset get back to bone stock ( that means when your in download mode it says Samsung Official status not custom ) so many times I have seen folks with an unrooted device where the bootloader still says custom and you end up with a dirty flash or worse. It may take a couple factory resets to get back to stock, it doesn't always take the first time. When I flash a custom rom and then decide to go back to stock, I flash the rom two or three times to make sure I'm bone stock.
If the factory reset doesn't work you may have to flash a new stock NK4 OS. Then root again and install the recovery. Here is my thread with all the info you need http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-sprint/general/samsung-note-3-rom-flashin-basics-t2896440 , Enjoy !!!
Thanks for taking the time to give me a detailed response. Sounds like I'm gonna have to wait till Wednesday or Thursday when im off work and have some time to do this, but yeah, I was thinking maybe just a factory reset, but I'll use your links and try it one more time first. I'll let ya know. Thanks again
Do you have another link to the older Odin (1.85).the link says the file isn't there... Thanks again
Never got to test it out, but she didn't really want a custom rom anyway, just the WiFi hotspot, and I finally found a method that works, big shout out to idone for his awesome app. If anyone else is looking for WiFi hotspot without root that sees this, check out his tread in the apps and themes, for this phone. Worked like a charm. Thanks again jimzweb1. Much appreciate the reply!

yeah, Status 7 is a notification that you need to update your recovery. not a Gapps issue
It doesn't seems to be working to root an S9+ 256GB DUOS SM-G965F (NEE - BRF8). NEE is Finland but it seems to be used in the whole Nordic.
After doing all the steps everything works but when the phone goes to sleep (the screen turns off and after a minute or two)) it will freeze (someone wrote it was AOD but it doesn't matter if it is running or not).
I also noticed the phone is lagging when using the startup guide, but it disappear after a reboot, but if i leave the phone and letting it fall in to sleep it will freeze and won't wake up again.
The only difference between "SuperSU 2.82-SR5" and "Magisk 16.6" is that with Magisk the phone is lagging at the startup guide and with SuperSU i have no SuperSU icon in apps to run.
And believe me, i have rebooted, but it won't help, no SuperSU icon. When the phone goes to sleep it freezes again.
I install TWRP with ODIN and Wiped the phone and rebooted into recovery, then i did:
1. no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0-star.zip
2. rebooted into recovery
3. RMM-State_Bypass_Mesa.zip (i have even tryed RMM-State_Bypass_Mesa_v2.zip)
4. SR5-SuperSU-v2.82-SR5-20171001224502.zip (or Magisk 16.6)
5. samsung-antiroot-removal-2.4.zip (i have even tryed samsung-antiroot-removal-4.1.zip)
6. reboot and wait
The phone will always show the "OEM unlock" so i don't need to wait 7 days for it to appear.
Any advice on how i should proceed?
Additional information:
I have now restored the phone back to default (ODIN and the 4 firmware files) and now it won't freeze anymore and "OEM unlock" is still enabled with this text below "Bootloader is already unlocked". Unfortunately the phone isn't rooted now
It seems that if i only flash TWRP i get the same behavior, it freeze after a while after the screen has turn it self off.
Samsung galaxy s9+ 64GB
Hi, first thing I want to say is I registered on this site just now. This is my first reply so please be a bit forgiving if I'm doing something wrong. That said....
I have the exact same problem.
I have the s9+ 64GB SM-G965F.
Here's what I did...
I flashed twrp through Odin which works perfect. On reboot into recovery I formatted data.
Reboot into recovery again and flash no-verity.
Reboot into recovery again and flash RMM.
Without rebooting also flahed superSU and antiroot.
The versions of those files are the exact same as mentioned above and in all the guides....
After all this system reboots and starts up just fine.
All seems okay but when my screen turns off it freezes after a minute or so and the only remedy is a hard reset by holding volume down and power.
It reboots perfectly fine then but the same thing.
When the screen goes of it freezes..
At first I thought it could be the official Samsung firmware so I completely wiped the entire system and flashed resurrection remix rom. All works but when I root this rom the same thing happens. Only this time the root seems to work while flashing but on reboot there's no SuperSU app and it's not rooted according to root checker. Same thing with the freezing though....
So I downloaded the latest official firmware from Samsung, BRF8 I think. Flashed that through odin and all works fine. No freezing. But also no root and no twrp or any custom rom.
So I'm thinking it has to be the rooting that causes it. Tonight I will try to only flash twrp and flash no-verity and RMM, I'll leave the root itself out of it just to see what happens.
I'll post the results back here... If anyone has any ideas it would be appreciated very much!
OH another thing to mention.... I have had oem unlock activated all the time, I checked on each boot and it was always active for me too.....

If i only flash TWRP i get the same freeze. I used twrp-3.2.1-2-star2lte.
Oh... You beat me to it...
That's no good then, if it's caused by twrp there isn't much we can do I guess. It all starts with twrp.
I'm using the same version as you are.
Maybe we can try a previous version, I don't know what that's going to do though, if it would even be compatible...
I did find a separate official recovery file.
Maybe it's an idea to install the official recovery after acquiring root?
I'm not sure if the file is legit though, I've never done that before. Twrp always worked for me, on all phones I owned.
What's your though on that....?
I wondering if this should be reported to the Github issues log for TWRP? The problem seems to be TWRP.
Maybe we are doing something wrong I'm not sure.
I know I followed multiple guides up to the smallest detail. The result is the same every time. There's 1 thing I noticed though.
I'm using the BRF8 firmware as are you, maybe that's the problem? In the video guides they're mostly on BRE5.
It looks like it's just us with this issue. I can't find any other info on this particular matter...
I've posted this question on another thread.
Here's the link in case you want to follow....
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...cross-device-development/twrp-exynos-t3763464
I found the solution. I got it working now...
I installed twrp 3.2.1-1 instead of 3.2.1-2.
Has to be some kind of issue in the latest version...
I used the same install procedure as supposed to.
Only used the other twrp version.
My phone hasn't froze for the last 2 hrs so I'm pretty confident it's working now...
Ahhh cancel that. It just froze again!
Could you see if you can find the tmp/recovery.log?
On the github TWRP ask for it: "/tmp/recovery.log"
and the output of "dmesg" --> "/tmp/recovery.log"
really hoping we could find the fix for this.
The freeze happen because of the real time kernel protection. You need to flash custom kernel before root.

I suggest you to download the latest Firmware from Sammobile for your Device and flash it with Odin .
Btw i would always check how to Recover my Phone before i do Modefication like this , then its much more easy to go back to Stock if something goes wrong .

I'm running DevBase and it is now working perfect. Try to install it. I don't believe you need to go to stock first.
