Ok i am stuck in boot loop. I will explain what i did.
I was on original ICS update from htc HBOOT-1.53.0007 and i decide to try out custom ROM
I followed this tutorial:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1535987
i unlock my device HTCDEV.com way i select evo 3d emea
I done this successfully and then i flash Clockworkmod recovery by clockworkmod.
Done this successfully!
Ok flashing time!
Downloaded and flash this ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1991150
I did wipe every thing there is to wipe in recovery
Flashed successfully!
and then reboot
On screen there was Venom logo i was waiting for 15 min, nothing happened, take out battery, power on again waiting still nothing happened!!
Flashed again the same rom, this time with no wiping!
Same thing stuck with Venom logo.
Ok. lets get diferent ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1513055
Same thing, stuck with boot logo!
And then i get so called stock rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1318942
this zip had boot.img inside
so when i flashed rom i go to bootloader and flash boot.img with fastboot flash boot boot.img that was successfully so i reboot device
this time the phone start to bootloop it gets to htc logo and then restart!
That's it now i don't know what to do. Don't know what guide/tutorial should i follow so i am posting here in hope to get some help
So again someone please help!!!
I would suggest downgrading to hboot 1.49.0007 (and then use revolutionary for s-off). With that you shouldn't have any problems flashing ROMs. I am currently using the 1.49.0007 hboot and I haven't got a single issue flashing Roms
Sent from my Evo 3D GSM
I suggest 1.49.0007. Before downgrade from 1.53.0007 i had boot loop issue too.
Yeah easier said than done!
Every tutorial i checked want me to download something, but i can't every thing is out dated s**t
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1743466
have you tried this?
i read it and i get so confused plus that wire trick it scares me! The whole tutorial is scary, so man methods
i think i will have to give it a try.
Unfortunately the wire trick is your only option of downgrading hboot. It isn't that difficult actually. Just make sure you follow the instructions to the letter
did i mention that i can not get in to system as a am stuck with booting up?!
ControlBear.exe just say press enter to exit so i am guessing that the phone need to be turned on for ControlBear.exe to work?!?
Rebooting from bootloader
Waiting...
...Waiting
Detecting...Starting up......
Connecting to device...
Testing ADB connection
Press ENTER to exit.....
I am starting to think that the best way to fix my phone would be the so called Hammer_way! They say it's one hit fix
Here is step by step instructions http: //unlimited.io/juopunutbear.htm
4. Turn ON USB Debugging on your device (Settings > Developer Options)
5. Verify fast boot is turned OFF (Usually found under Power Settings)
6. Connect your device and set to "Charge Only"
I simply can not do that i am stuck in boot loop!
anyway i found something
http //htcevohacks.com/htc-evo-3d-hacks/how-to-downgrade-to-hboot-1-49-0007-on-htc-evo-3d-gsm/
testing now!
caughere even
didn't work
it locked my bootloader
it say ***relocked*** and ***security warning***

If you can access to recovery, then you can flash stock or another ROM.
Then set USB Debugging and repeat unlock.

You have to manually flash boot.img via fastboot.
i made it!! i managed to install stock original ICS RUU from OTA and i successfully did S-OFF!! Yuuuhuu
Now what? i am stil on HBOOT 1-53.777
I have the same problem before i find a good Rom for 1.53.0007. And i cant downgrade to 1.49.0007...
Try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1906172
why would i want 1.49.0007?
My phone is now working normally with venom viper ROM, on HBOOT 1-53.777 S-OFF
If you satisfied with venom viper ROM then you dont need downgrade. But with 1.49.0007 you can flash more ROMs.

Don't Worry Dude.
Ok dude dont worry... had the same prob when i first rooted
ok first you power down your phone
then charge it for like a day
then go into fastboot
using hassoon2000 rooting tool unlock the bootloader (dont worry when you unlock boot loader it will give you a stock rom)
then get the CWM recovery with OFF MODE CHARGING working ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2092741 )
dont use the one included in hassoon2000 2.3 all in one rooting kit because off mode charging is not working (its an older version)
then after you flash recovery turn on your phone into the UI and your good
and if you want to put custom rom i recommend Android Revolution HD ( much more stable than other roms)
and if you want to flash ROM remember to WIPE YOUR CACHE AND DALVIK CACHE(dalvik cache in advanced menu):good::good::good::good::good::good::good::good::good::good::good: good luck!

if that does not work you can RE-lock your device, then boot into Bootloader, then run the official RUU for your device and return to stock. Then re-unlock your device and reroot usin toolkit. Also you could flash a recovery through Fastbbot using
$ fastboot flash recovery <name of recovery>.img

I accidentally missed a step when flashing a custom ROM onto my HOX+, and now it hangs at the "HTC quietly brilliant" screen every time (but I can still access CWM recovery and bootloader). I know that all I need to do is re-lock the bootloader and use the most recent RUU, but I cannot get my computer to detect my phone to re-lock the bootloader. Is there another way to re-lock the bootloader? If not, what should I do?

You can use this link to install ADB, USB and Fastboot drivers.
Ok, so i have seen many people on xda saying there htc phone is bricked blah blah...
this is to explain what brick you have, what is causing it, if it can be fixed, how it can be fixed, and what to do if it is completely bricked!
BEFORE WE GO ANY FURTHER, I WOULD LIKE YOU AFTER YOU FINISH READING THIS FIX TO STOP AND CONSIDER HITTING THE THANKS BUTTON AS IT WILL HELP ME AS MUCH AS THIS GUIDE POSSIBLY HELPED YOU
also i am open to ANY questions, help or anything needed by the community! so if you need something, be sure to comment!
first i will explain the definitions of a brick-
HARD BRICK
a hard brick (also knows as a hardware brick) is when your phone doesnt turn on and when adb and fastboot dont pick up your device as you have damaged hardware on your device
Click to collapse
SOFT BRICK
a soft brick (also knows as a software brick) is when your device turns on but gets stuck at bootloader, recovery, htc logo, bootlogo etc...

Click to collapse
OPTIONS FOR A HARD BRICK-
there are a few options here.
1ST OPTION- riffbox jtag repair, this is a repair by manually pumping firmware into your phone with a riffbox connected to a jtag connected to your phones motherboard
method for this is a difficult, yet money saving process, but may not work all the time.
HOW TO RIFF
1. buy a riffbox and the required jtag for your device
2. install the firmware that comes with the riffbox
3. extract the motherboard from your device
4. connect in the following way (<computer><riff cable><riffbox><jtag cable><jtag><motherboard>)
5. run the software that came with the riffbox
6 follow prompted instructions by riff firmware
7.DONE!

2ND OPTION-
1. buy a new motherboard
2. replace the motherboard
HOW TO REPLACE MOTHERBOARD
1. open your device and extract the motherboard(chances are you can find it on youtube)
2. replace it with the new motherboard
3. DONE

3RD OPTION(ONLY IF OPTION 1 AND 2 DO NOT WORK)-
buy a new phone
or buy a motherboard, and a new lcd screen as you have fore then likely overclocked your processor, and over volted your lcd screen and blown it.

OPTIONS FOR A SOFT BRICK
a softbrick is 99% repairable with a htc phone, as htc has a more then simple way of operating
it needs the following to run
1st you need a hboot
2nd you need a system image, data image and boot image. ( i say all three of these because your phone wont boot unless you have all three)
3rd applications
so now we identify your problem!
if your phone turns on and goes straight to recovery or bootloader, even after you have tried rebooting into system this is what you do!
the problem is cause by not having a system and data image.
1. download a rom for your device
2. put the rom on your sd card(if you dont have an sd boot into recovery and push the file to your phone using my adb guide HERE
3. put your sd card in your phone and reboot into recovery
4. flash the rom.
5.DONE
Click to collapse
if your phone turns on and is stuck at the htc logo then this is a problem with the boot.img, heres what to do.
1. download the rom you have and open the .zip file on your computer, then extract the boot.img from the file and put it somewhere on your computer
2. connect phone to computer
3. read HERE to learn how to flash the boot.img
4.DONE
Click to collapse
if your phone turns on and goes straight to bootloader and you cant get into recovery then this is caused by not having no image files flashed, and heres how to fix it.
1. boot into bootloader
2. select fastboot in the bootoader menu
3. connect phone to your computer
4. download a recovery for your phone and read HERE how to flash it
5. boot into recovery
6. download a rom for your device
7. put the rom on your sd card(if you dont have an sd boot into recovery and push the file to your phone using my adb guide HERE
8. put your sd card in your phone and reboot into recovery
9. flash the rom.
10. DONE
Click to collapse
if none of those work then you might want to consider flashing an RUU file (FIXES ALMOST ALL ERRORS)
1. download the RUU for your device and CID
2. flash it
3. DONE
Click to collapse
if not even that works, consider it a hard brick
HOPE THIS HELPED! AND REMEMBER TO HIT THANKS!

Hi, I have an HTC Thunderbolt that is not being detected by ADB or Fastboot but it starts up and is in a bootloop. Unfortunately I have not backed it up and I have stock recovery. I do have an SD card so if there is a way that I can probably put a fix on it and apply it through the recovery I would. Awesome guide BTW.

Hi!
My phone keeps staying on the startup animation.
I actually had a recovery installed, and in the memory there's a rom's zip ready to get installed... but I can't get into the bootloader.
Even if I press volume down+power button it goes on startup animation until the battery is totally drained.
I could even flash the RUU, but I actually can't select the fastboot mode...
Any suggestion?
Thanks!

Hi

the question might be silly but thanks anyway
Hi All,
I have a HTC ONE X+ on O2 UK, it has HBOOT 1.72, S-ON, Radio-3.1204.171.33
I tried being clever and Rooted the phone following hasoon2000 instructions. It was so simple and worked so well i got cocky.
Successfully rooted and installed TWRP 2.6 recovery, used the phone for the whole of 5 minutes before deciding if that was so easy i may as well try flashing a ROM....
I tried CM11 snapshot 15/09/2014, it failed so i restored my back up and all was fine. On the CM wiki i read this bit ..
This device, if unlocked with HTCDev Unlock, must have its kernel flashed via fastboot. Extract boot.img from the CyanogenMod .zip package and flash it from the bootloader with: fastboot flash boot boot.img
Click to collapse
So i did that, and now i am stuck in boot loop of the HTC quietly Brilliant screen.
I can get into recovery restore my backup but i am still stuck in a boot loop. I assume i need a boot.img with certain information to allow it to go any further. I tried the
RUU RUU_ENRC2B_U_JB_45_O2_UK_1.14.206.13_Radio_3.1204.167.31_release_289474_signed
Click to collapse
but assume the problem is my HBOOT and Radio are more up to date. (Shows error on screen saying incompatible)
My ideal would be to have a working CM11 Snapshot or CM10.2 on the device, i would settle for stock and back to 4.2.2 and working.
Any help would be great.
Cheers
read this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2510836
it tells you to use clockworkmod recovery and not twrp. atm you can't use twrp for kitkat based roms
hold power button until phone turns off. then turn on holding VOL-DOWN to enter bootloader.
now you can flash cwm recovery and boot.img extracted rom.zip
You can only flash a new kernel by booting in the bootloader.... Therefore, whenever you switch rom you'll have to flash kernel compatible to that particular rom.
So, enter bootloader, connect your phone and use command "fastboot flash boot <kernel path>"

Seemingly it was as simple as not being able to use twrp with the latest CM11. Thanks so much, happily on 4.4.4 now.
The thread was from 2012 and the twrp site seemed to indicate otherwise, but soon as i switched recovery it was sorted.
Cheers!

Unlock bootloader through windroid again.
From PC, move a stock ATT backup (found here) or a cm11 or cm12.1 (found here also).
Boot into recovery, flash the ROM.
You should have a working device.
Look below you thread and there is an alike thread with a solution if this didn't work.
