I have installed AutoMate but cannot dial directly from that. So was wondering if it is possible to sync AutoMate dialer to MTCB dialer. Thanks for your help.

Thunk you will need petrows HU app, true contacts and maybe the modeswitch app too. Search on this forum for google now voice dialing. Lots of info already here
Thanks will try that

Sorry no solution so far. All I need is a dialer like true contact that I can use with AutoMate to make call from

I use automate and i can call true automate. Install headunit.
So if you click on from AutoMate app the call goes through. If yes can you help me with your setup.

AutoMate is not going to work. Here is a fragment from a Google Groups discussion :
...............................................................
Well, the app tries to simulate the behaviour of Android Auto and it does it in a nice and good way (as much as it can). Like you said telephony will not work because it is not installed on the phone and head unit will not be able to dial out directly, you can try to use TabletTalk to dial out, but if you do then on incoming calls it will display a floating widget over any app, which I find very disturbing when using navigation, so I have given up on that.
The full discussion is available here.
Cant get it working with "headunit" app, True Contacts and Automate... Dialing not possible...

You can call true automate...use headunit..When you select a telephone number in am en you click dial Android is asking which app to use to redirect call. Select headunit and your call is redirected to the mtcb bluetooth app.
Thats not working for me. If I click on a number to call, it tries to launch thats not there. Will try to figure out. Im german its called "mobilfunk".
Tried doing call from AM but don't get the option for headunit to place call. But if I download exdialer then you see that in option.

Check this thread and I'm using an app called AutoMate from play store but the link says you can use PP dialer. With AutoMate no need for dialer it will place call straight from the app.

Try bobsled calling from the play store
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA
Does bobsled allow you to make free phone calls over wifi/ data? I checked it on playstore and web but it doesn't say much about calling, it's more about texts (which people are complaining that it's not free) ?

Viber? I use it for calling a lot
Plus it's absolutely free.

Well, I don't know what that means, but...
GrooVe IP + Google Voice
If you already have a GV number, then just install GrooVe IP. If GrooVe IP hasn't fixed the "keep WiFi on" issue yet, then you can solve that with Advanced Wifi Lock. I also use Llama to manage WiFi, because the battery will drain very fast if you keep WiFi on.
Thanks to all and especially MechMan! I got groove IP happening! Would love to stay n chat but I gotta go dig into all my new settings

Hi. Can anyone suggest a good alternative for hangouts/gtalk? I still use it a lot as most of my friends are on android and I've seen a couple of apps from the store that says they support gtalk but i prefer to hear some user experience of anyone used those. Thanks

hi,
i'm using im + pro for my Google and icq contacts.
you can always go with non-paid version, which has no chat history backup and few things removed.
I also use im+ best alternative app IMHO.

I know I've seen it before but I can't remember where, but I am looking for an app that can send and receive text messages via Bluetooth or WiFi I don't really want to use Google voice due to the voicemail portion always sucking. The ones I've found on the play store always seem to have tons of bad reviews. Thanks.

I use MightyText and it works really well. I can send and receive text and picture messages immediately. Some other ones I tried take really long before I can send a message, but this one is quick!
Mighty text is great

AT&T had an app called AT&T messages for the tablet. It allows you to access all your messages and when you send a text it shows up as coming from your phone.

I just set this up using DeskSMS / TabletSMS. The text messages send via my phone (and are also visible on my PC via a Chrome plug-in). I am very happy with it.
Of course it requires the phone to have an active data connection as well as the tablet, so that might not be what you are looking for.
Is there way to use tablet talk without the headset? Talk through the tablets microphone and hear through the speakers?

According to the Google support documents, you can reply to SMS messages by swiping the message from right to left on the watch and the reply option should appear. But I only have open in phone... anyone else?

Hmmm, then the Google Support document seems to be a bit misleading...
https://support.google.com/androidwear/answer/6056809
Notice the part where it says "if" you're using Hangouts... that would lead me to believe that you can do more with Hangouts, but it does not specify that on the above linked page...

Yea that's probably not supported. Either switch to one which is (eg Hangouts) or wait and hope for an update which brings compatibility with android wear.
Yeah... thanks

It's not the watch or Android Wear's fault. The SMS app has to be updated to work with Android Wear.

Hey guys,
I am wondering if there is any alternative app than AirDroid to remote control your phone.
Maybe an app which does it's interactions hidden, so that thieves don't recognize when I'm locating my phone.

Thank you! But I don't want my GPS always to be switched on because of the battery life. Isn't there any app, where I can remote-activate GPS when I need to find the phone?
