[REQUEST] NikonIR for Wear - Wear OS Software and Hacking General

Hello, so I bought a Moto 360 that I'm using with my Note 4.
I use my Note 4's IR-blaster with a free app called NikonIr ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=lol.tdf.nikonir ) and I was wondering if it's possible to make an app that triggers the IR on the phone so I could use the watch as a remote.
Thanks in advance

You can mail the developer of the app and ask him to make an Android wear button for it. Or, if you can figure out which activity in NikonIR triggers the IR, you can get an app like KeyCut and configure the app to launch that activity.

HTC One as Macbook Pro remote?

Theres an app called gmote in the play store, to control your computer, it works with windows and mac .
Just make sure your Pro doesn't have a retina. The Retina ones don't support IR unless you get an external receiever.
You could give this app a try

Neither of the two apps utilize the IR remote. I'm looking for one that will allow that. Seeing as the phone just came out, maybe one will show up over time.

Yes, this is possible. You simply use the TV app that came preloaded on your HTC One.
While the buttons aren't labeled exactly the same, you can make it work just fine by configuring a custom remote. Just click through the service provider selection screen, answering however you like even if you don't have service, though I suggest being as accurate as possible in case you want to check listings at say, your friend's house for a football game.
Personally, I configured all applicable buttons: both direction and volume, and enter/play/pause/select, etc. I didn't want to have to hunt for buttons, so it seems easier to program them all, even though another button will do the same thing.
I'm hoping someone will make (or there already is) a custom IR blaster app that will allow us to share profiles for some of the more complicated devices, or HTC will add a "Custom Remote Profile Sharing" feature. This way, you won't need an original remote to copy signals from, and you won't need to use a more root-intensive app if you wanted to copy your configuration to another device or owner.
Please click thanks if I answered your question.

[Q] Apps for G Watch

Is there anyone who is working on apps for the LG G watch? I'm thinking about buying this smartwatch but at this point it can't do much things. It's only good for reading notifications and using Google now. I would like to see apps like on the Sony SW2 to read my e-mails or use a calculator maybe to send messages (voice typing not supports Hungarian language).

As far as I understand it, most apps tie into a built in API and are able to communicate with the Wear device without the need for any app to be installed on the Watch, they simply know a Wear device is connected and send the relevant info. We may not need to install any apps directly on the G watch.

I don't know. I expect the operating system takes up a lot of it, I doubt its 4GB of useable storage.

And then why is the s400? I think nobody will play games on his watch.
They said that the Watch will be open to third-party apps dev. So yes, there will be apps, that's also why there's 4 gigs.
Top tip: When searching the Play store for apps, use the search string "android wear" (WITH quotes). Don't rely on the minimal selection that the Wear app itself returns.

[Q] Any Must-Have Apps?

My unit should be coming today, so II made a list of apps I could download?
Are these any good?
Missing anything?
1. My Script Stylus (Beta)
2. Photoshop Touch
3. Push Bullet
4. Papyrus
5. Commandr
6. Mobdro (not in Google play)
7. All in One Toolbox
8. Google Inbox
9. Last Pass
Are you interested in the hidden secret codes? If so, install this app: Phone INFO ★Samsung★
Open app > Menu > 'Secret Codes'. That will list ALL secret codes available in your phone.

The MyScript Stylus not is necessary because when you use the pen in textbox opens one option to you use it!
I prefer the "MyScript Smart Note" have more options with the pen.
: Bom:
The others app I don't know of. I Go test them.
I always think "this time I will use S Note becuase it's so nice" but end up using LectureNotes for writing - it is my must have app number one for all Note devices. Although for Note 4 it requires a bit of configuration (for example thicker pens are a must for such resolution), thankfully it's easy to do.
For me is the optical reader app from note 2 the nr.1 app of the must have's!!
I tried the port for Note 3 and it works perfectly

There are a lot of features missing in this version. I wish, a developer ports the S4 optical reader app for our Note 4. It is one of the most versatile apps, in my opinion.
I just got my GN4, I previously had the HTC One M7. I was using Lockdown Pro to secure my contacts, messaging settings, etc... But I discovered a new app, Fingersecurity by Rick Cephas. It uses the GN4'S fingerprint scanner to secure your selected apps (pin code is optional as well). It's available free in the Playstore. I give it 5 stars!

I second this! I hate the finger print lock for the homescreen as I usually fail at least 3 times to get a good read and that makes opening it while driving or multitasking horrendous. With this app, I am able to lock my private photos through finger print and nothing else. You basically download this app and then tell it which apps on the phone will require a finger print scan to be activated.

Do you have an App request?

Good afternoon!
I've recently got my hands on a Gear S and exploring the development side of it.
While I'm playing with this, I figured I might as well create something useful in the process.
Would any of you have a request for an app the Gear S would benefit from?
Unless you want another calculator or timing app.
Thank you for taking the time to read,
Good day!
Off the top of my head a file manager resident on the Gear S. A Web browser. A utility to sync the Gear S clock to server time.

My biggest wish is to find finally good sleep tracking app (smart alarm) which will use also the heart rate sensor to be more precise. The possibility to export detail graph with details as recorded HR during the night will be perfect.
I tested the G'night app but it is fake because it is not doing what dev say and he is not answering on any communication.
add a task using s voice

More s voice compatible apps.. like adding tasks/reminders to calendar etc
A game that alerts u to play a turn every so often... ongoing over a long time. Say like playing chess with someone in another country.. yeh online chess or something new that means y get a short distraction every so often that u can choose to ignore for now or play your turn.
Live wallpapers would be cool.
A social network app where u can create an 8bit avatar that can maybe enter rooms... essencially chat rooms. Just with a simple visual element and talk to strangers. Like a wearable community. Just make it for smart watches.
Gear s pet u need to feed etc... be even cooler if it could pop up in any screen to distract u... much like a cat.
Vibration customiser for notifications
Facebook app, messenger app, google + app, instagram app, gmail full app. Basically social networking. As it stands the watch is not very smart.

Oh yes Gmail app is sorely needed!
+2 for being able to create tasks or reminders using S-voice. I need that almost hourly. lol

Running apps for Gear S

I'm sure that some of us are runners who chose to get the Gear S so that we don't need to carry a smartphone when we go for a run. I've observed that there is some confusion regarding the fitness/running apps that are available for the Gear S. For example, the Samsung S Health app has a "running" mode that allows you to use the built-in GPS (outdoors) and built-in HR sensor on the Gear S while it's on standalone mode. But, this app won't track your pace when you're running indoor on a treadmill.
The Nike+ app can also use the built-in GPS to provide speed/distance information. The Nike+ app seems to be the only app so far that uses the built-in sensor found in the Gear S to estimate your speed when you're on a treadmill. I can't seem to find a way to calibrate this function. Also, I can't seem to find a way to get the Nike+ app to use the built-in HR monitor when I'm running.
Other apps like MapMyRun and Endomondo are simply "companion" apps that require that you run the app on the phone and the Gear S simply becomes an extension of the screen. Users who expect these apps to run in standalone mode (not paired to phone) will be disappointed.
Why can't we get a standalone running app for the Gear S that uses the built-in GPS (outdoor), the built-in sensor to track pace when you're running on a treadmill, and use the built-in HR sensor? Neither the S Health nor the Nike+ does all of that together.
I have the same question, but I'm trying to Google the resolution since I haven't had any luck with folks responding on this forum. I need to find a user forum for the Gear watch that's friendly do doors like me.

Not sure what you mean, but the OP is more of a statement and not a question. There is no app that does it all. They all have their positives and negatives.
its Sad that theres no running app development. please some tizen dev port any standalone running app
Endomondo has launched standalone app dedicated only for Sony smartwatch ... any hope to port this app to Gear S ?????
Ooops meant to post this in the Trackwatch thread... but liking the Nike+ app as a stand alone recorder...

I'd love this too, are then any awesome devs out there that could make this happen?
Well, the only way that I found was to move Android port, so I can use some apps like My trails. But as it's under development, it has a lot of bugs and some sensors aren't working by now but will do on a close future (hope so) like heart rate monitor and light sensor, but it's still better than Tizen in my opinion.

That's messed up. They created such a nice watch with Samsung Milk + Nike Running. Now they consciously destroyed all of this beautiful features ! WHY WHY WHY?
