So coming from CM13 (on a different phone), this one bit annoys me a lot. Instead of a small marker next to the battery, like on stock, LG decided to have a full-on notification for DND.
I find this really annoying and would love to turn it off, but there's no option to do so.
Has any of you found a way to get rid of it?

Does anyone know if there is a way to have the screen dim, instead of timeout when on speakerphone? I've looked all over and can't find anything. This is a feature that seemed to be in place on my Incredible, but not so on the Rezound. I use my speakerphone a lot and it's very annoying. I know I can set the screen to not timeout, etc. but then the screen being on drains the battery.
I am currently rooted and running Clean ROM 4.2, but this condition existed on the stock Rezound as well.
I tried Call Light App, but it is buggy.
Thanks in advance.

What's the use case here? Do you need to use the phone while on speakerphone? hitting the power button just flips it back on, but i'm assuming it's that extra step you are trying to avoid?

I use it for work to speak to clients, and I'm usually on the computer at the same time. I need it to be "hands free".
Like I said, my Incredible used to dim while on speaker phone, so I never had to pick up the phone and press the power button, to end the call or access anything while on a call. I guess I got spoiled. To me now it just seems like common sense. Why would you want the screen to timeout while you're on speakerphone?
I can't imagine that it can't be done, but that is well beyond my skill set.
I think we've agreed that the screen is the biggest battery draw on this phone.
I am on the stock ROM, and my screen lights up whenever anything happens on the phone. Any notifications light the screen up. Email/text/etc screen comes on to display the notification in addition to the sound.
Is there a way to keep the sound, and notification in the status bar, but keep the screen from lighting up?
I get a ton of emails M-F not to mention text messages and I don't need the screen firing up every time I get one. Hearing it is good, but I'm sure I'd save battery with the screen forced to stay off. Incremental savings? Maybe. But every little bit, right?
SMS Popup
I just discovered this when I flashed Unofficial. It has settings to disable the screen coming on when a text message arrives - at least it's a start, particularly if you get a lot of texts.

Is that setting not in the stock ROM?
How do you get to it in yours?
I just installed JellyBAM today and so far it's working great, but theres one 'feature' that I really don't prefer and I can't seem to figure out how to stop it. As we all know the AT&T GNote 1 was released without a notification LED. JellyBAM has a feature that makes the buttons at the bottom of the phone blink every so often when you get an email, text, etc. I've gone into the LED section of the settings and tried setting the On, and Off settings to OFF and I still get a blink from time to time. I don't want this. I tend to get a lot of email at night, and I don't want my phone's buttons blinking on and off all night.
Is there any way to just disable this completely? Thanks for any help.

You might want to take your question to the jellybam forum as that rom is not supported on xda
I keep my phone on silent at night because I have a super jealous partner that freaks out if my phone dings or vibrates late at night. This isn't a problem when my screen is turned off, since the notification light comes on, but I use my phone for gaming, reading and watching movies/tv shows so the screen is on quite often and unless my notification bar is visible (which is usually not the case), I have no idea when I get a text/tweet/game notification/etc. So my question is this: Is there a trick or app out there that will make my notification light work even when the screen is turned on?
I'm still running the stock OS that came on the phone (4.3 I believe?) and I'm unrooted, however I'm not opposed to manually upgrading to 5.1 and/or rooting if necessary
Thanks in advance XD
I actually returned the Moto X Play because the LED notification light didn't work at all even though it's present on the phone. Motorola are a bunch of greedy assholes who want you to buy their "smart watch" just to get notifications now apparently, but that's a whole other topic. During my quest for an on-screen notification I found Light Flow, and I'm almost positive you'll find help with that.
I have an S6 Edge, model SCV31, currently running android 7 (updated last night).
Due to my work, I've been in the habit of always having my phone in silent/vibration mode. This has been the case, with this same phone, for around two years. Maybe two or three days ago there was a notification on my lock screen telling me that my phone was on silent and that I may miss calls. I was given the option to take my phone off silent, or say "it is okay". I have never had this notification before. Normally if I receive a notification I don't care for, I long press on it and turn off notifications for whatever is causing it. I could not long press on the notification, and touching the screen to unlock my phone caused the notification to disappear. This was while running android 6. Around the same time these notifications started I was emailed by my service provider that I would soon be able to download android 7. I received the notification a few times before updating, both while charging and not. I was hoping the update would reset/fix whatever triggering the notification, but have still been receiving it since.
I have not been able to force the notification to reappear. I have tried turning on sounds and turning them off again, restarting my phone, and leaving my phone charging for a few minutes (I initially noticed it while charging) to no avail. Until now, I haven't thought of taking a screen shot, but if necessary I will try to remember when next it occurs.
Does anyone know what is causing this notification and how to turn it off?
Thank you in advance,
JB
