Hey guys, as most of you know I have bricked my device in a really bad way. Now revived it, does boot wifi is there everything is there except the IMEI (now it is 3500000000000006). I do have nv_data.bin and nv_data.bin.md5.
Cant run *#0011# or something like that because it tells me this: "not registered on network"
Also Phone INFO *samsung* doesnt work because that app doesnt want root access from me, if I can ask for root access I can be able to go into that SERVICE MODE. And maybe I can recover..
Please help me what to do GUYS!!!! DONATIONS ARE HERE FOR YOU

Hey Vanderax,
I had a similar thing happen on my original Galaxy S waaaay back in the day, and was able to fix it by doing the following.
- Flash a completely stock ROM via Odin, and then get root access (lots of ways to do this, but you must have root)
- Copy your backup nv_data.bin to /sdcard
- Once you have root, use a file-browsing app like Root Explorer to browse to /efs
- Mount as R/W, and delete the nv_data.bin and nv_data.min.md5 from the /efs directory
- Copy your backup nv_data.bin from /sdcard to /efs
- Close Root Explorer
- Open your dialler and type the following (WARNING! THIS WILL HARD-RESET YOUR PHONE WITHOUT PROMPT AND WIPE ALL DATA/APPS)
*2767*3855#
Once your phone boots, your IMEI should be rebuilt from the nv_data.bin, and the nv_data.bin.md5 should also be there.
Hope that helps!

Yeah mate... Also the screen is distorted when rebooting, theres no samsung galaxy s6 edge boot picture. After that picture we all see the samsung boot animation. I can see it too now.. you can see my older post to understand what problem did the phone and now how is it...
I tried everything but i am hopeless and i dont want to give 50$ for a cert write operation.
Yeah, it looks pretty hopeless to be honest mate - if you're unable to successfully flash a stock ROM and re-partition with a .pit file using ODIN, you can't do much.
And if you don't have a backup of your original nv_data.bin file, even if you could get the phone working, my solution above won't be any help. My suggestion is to send it for repair, and just chalk it up to experience!
Now I fixed the usb connection and bootloader partition too. Now the phone is fully functional except its IMEI. Any solutions???

You'll need a tool to write a IMEI to the phone. I'm pretty sure you can fix it with chimera tool which isn't free but definitely worth a check. You get what you pay for
Ok i need help with my device.
I got a s6 edge SMG925I a while ago, yesterday an update (i guess its called OTA) popped up and i installed it. after the installation was completed but now i'm not registered on network, and i can't detect my SIM card.
Note: my IMEI is NOT blocked.
So far all my efforts were for nothing.
All the info i got so far by searching
Problems:
Not registered on network
when typing *#06# it only show S/N
About device it shows IMEI: Unknown
did not back up the efs folder (but i GUESS the folder is still there and somehow the new stock can't access it)
Android ver. 6.0.1(marshmallow)
Possible cause:
EFS Folder corrupted
Bad Stock installation
Already tried:
Rooting (i wasnt able to root)
Installing latest stock rom
installing the old rom
QPST to change IMEI
Please help me guys
EDIT:
I figured out what happened, my efs got deleted somehow, i got no backup, is there a way around this? help me please

How about a simple reset from the settings menu? But I am pretty sure, if you somehow deleted the IMEI imformation, your chances are not the best. You'd have to find a way, to get write thatbinfo back. What you could do is ask someone else to backup that partition for you and change the values according to your phone ( IMEI, serial number,...) Then flash this partition info back. Good luck!

i think you can install CM recovery (TWRP) then you can process the backup of your old rom from the recovery.
just enter in recovery mode then you'll find "restore" choose all the files ( i think there will be like this: System, Cashe, Efs, Boot...) then hit Restore botton, and wait for it to boot up hope this helps you bro

Try to get the efs partition holding the information from someone else, change it to your IMEI, serial,... And flash that partition to your phone and you should be good. I guess you'd have to use a hex editor to get that done. I am not rooted, so I can't back it up for you.

I have a G900T that I was a running Skiesrom CFW for about a month until I noticed it stopped detecting the sim card, getting constant reboots and restarts instead of powering down. I went to stock with odin thinking it would fix it but it did not. Any suggestions and opinions would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.
Happened to me too once when i flashed wrong rom using odin which lead me to Nil Baseband version and IMEI
Did u check them if they are ok
Install a SD card checking (SD Insight is the one I use) and check your SD card. There are thousands of fakes around that report they have much more storage than they actually do. They work fine at first until they fill up and you start trying to store data in locations that don't actually exist.

Not as easy as I though.
Have service mode also gone blank? u can check it using #*9090#
if yes, then your phone has kinda gone far from the normal damage state imo, as normal restore things like odin etc. doesn't help
Check Device Serial Number, if that's fine
IDK your Knowledge level but
Read this post till the End before attempting to do anything
I had recovered my phone from the following scenerio
1. Baseband - Unknown
2. IMEI - Nil
3. Service mode - Blank with horizontal lines
4. No Sim detection
5. Random reboots and restart instead of Power off
BUT
6. Seriel Number - Ok (Original)
In my case i wasn't able to get back imei baseband, no matter what i do, restoring efs backup, trying diffrent baseband, stock restore everything using odin diffrent Rom versions too but
nothing worked
I followed the steps given in thread mentioned below to recover my device, This thread and file/s mentioned in there are for Note 3 only
but i used the Note 3 file on S5 with SM-G900T PIT file,
Don't use PIT file from NOTE 3 (Thread)
Everything is back to normal except Service Mode is partially recovered, still i have it that way
(writing Note 3 file on S5 , i guess, the reason for broken service mode)
Here's the thread
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2567133
I had followed it till adb commands only, as far as i remember, didn't follow seriel number editing etc.
I'd recommend to follow the thread only if have have tried other ways to get around the issue and you are sure your phone is unrecoverable by any other means
bcuz Nowadays unknown baseband and nil imei happens too me sometimes but going stock ALWAYS gets them back
i'd recommend you to Backup your IMEI (EFS) Folder in current state (Most probably it is not corrupted) and store in somewhere safely and to be on a safer side backup bootloader too (Bootloader not needed but...you never know if you are not much of a developer)
Backup in multiple formats and with multiple tools (I always wanna play safe), Flashfire also backsup EFS
You can also backup whole folder manually too, your choice
For bootloader backup
i used following ADB command as Root
busybox dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/sdcard/200MB.img bs=4096 count=50000
I don't know if this will work for you, Don't hold me responsible if your device gets even worse, just trying to help ; )
Lemme Know if any clarification is needed

All of your scenarios is exactly what is going on with mine to the "T". Service mode is blank and I do get a serial number but blank IMEI. Even my phone powered on on it's own from being completely shut down for a while. I tried flashing PIT with odin to tried to re-partition but it would not flash. Gives me a secured failed in download mode. I will look into your suggestion. Thanks.

You are just one step away, if u hv time
make sure you have allowed adb to run as root (supersu app), check supersu app, if adb requested permisiion and thats falsly disallowed
Setup working ADB connection, test it
allow adb shell to run as root
run following commands one by one
adb devices
adb shell
su
when u type su and hit enter, it should ask you for supersu permission on ur phone interface
Grant the permission
Also
have Busybox installed in your device
Usb debugging (obviously)
that's coming in my mind right now
Good Luck, if you try

Every time I got this problem I found that flashing a fastboot ROM fixed it. I never managed to find any other solution that actually worked. Googling the problem I did find some solutions, but I didn't try them all. I just gave up and kept stock ROM with Magisk, then debloated it as much as I could. All I can suggest is seeing what Google throws up and seeing if any solution works for you.
anyone found a fix yet?

Hello dear fellow mido users. I am trying to solve a problem here and I would very much appreciate your help on this:
I am running latest MIUI Stable Global flashed from fastboot, I have IMEI, but I don't have mobile signal. WiFi & BT works fine.
How I got here:
Bricked the phone about half a year ago
Ressurected it a week ago via connecting the pins in the back and flashing via edl.
I have unlocked it officially, as I had it unlocked before.
I have flashed TWRP & latest official RR, but it bootlooped, because my /persist partition was freaked out, so I reflashed it from the extracted fastboot ROM and I booted.
However, both my IMEIs dissappeared, and I only had the first IMEI from the back of my phone. So I calculated the second IMEI per a tutorial (from a Czech site) and restored both IMEIs via the Qualcomm QPST xqcn file, verified both IMEIs are showing up on my phone and are valid as per online IMEI checkers.
However, the signal didn't work, so I reflashed another mido device's IMEI (I have my original IMEIs backed-up) and flashed latest MIUI fastboot ROM, still no signal.
And here I am, and I am asking you for help..
If anyone can help me or at least point me in the right direction I will be eternally grateful

"Ressurected it a week ago via connecting the pins in the back and flashing via edl." - are you sure you didn't accidently disconnect the antenna cable from the motherboard end or from the USB board end while doing the tespoint connection to get into EDL mode?

Thank you so much for your reply. I just checked, the cable wasn't disconnected, but I dis-and-reconnected it just to make sure. Still no signal.
I should mention I reflashed my original IMEI and verified that its valid once again. I am attaching links to pictures of the back of my phone disassembled if anyone can spot something wrong: PHOTOS.

Hope you have Magisk (root) - if not please flash Magisk.

From a PC open a cmd and issue adb shell
or start a terminal emulator on your phone
Then issue these commands in the shell
su
pm clear com.android.providers.telephony
settings put global preferred_network_mode 10
settings put global preferred_network_mode1 10
settings put global preferred_network_mode2 10
Remove airplane mode.
Restart.
Check again.
If still not works:
Start phone in fastboot mode
Issue these commands from PC cmd:
fastboot devices << just to make sure you phone is recognised
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot reboot
It will restart.
Check again.
Anyway, if you issue *#*#INFO#*#* or better known as *#*#4636#*#* in the dialer then selecting Phone 1 or Phone 2 (according to the SIM slot you want to check) in the top right or lower left there is a band-select menu (not in MIUI but in other custom ROMs) so there you are able to select the correct band if you want (that would mean you flash any custom ROM from TWRP or any custom recovery for a couple of minutes, go to dialer and look around)

Tried everything you said in order, still doesn't work. In normal fastboot, fastboot erase modemst1 results in this image isn't allow download. So I used mfastboot and it worked, however still no signal. When I try to switch the band in the options menu, there are two options: Automatic and United States. When clicked, both result in: Set [United States/Automatic] Unsuccessful.
And I just noticed it erased my IMEI again... Maybe the IMEI wasn't really there the whole time?
What is the proper way to flash both IMEIs? (I know them both)

I have the impression that the IMEI wasn't even there..
Flashing it is not possible.
The partition called EFS - in TWRP - is the one storing these kind of IDs.
If you have a backup of EFS you are good to go.
I used to tell people that before doing anyhing (before even unlocking the bootloader)
just do QCN info backup so in case of IMEI / Wifi MAC / Bluetooth MAC issues it's easy to restore..
Your case is a bit more advanced since you have no backup - so you have only one way to get out from this situation:
re-generate the QCN info. I advise you to use >>this<< tutorial (files are attached to the post) to properly re-generate and push back the correct info.
And here's the ultimate guide as well: part 1 and part 2

Okay, I have already followed the first tutorial you linked before, so I have the xQCN files ready. I will follow the second tutorial and report back. Thank you for taking the time to help me.

After that I advise you to use MiFlash and flash a recent fastboot ROM.
Report back when you finished. There should be a way..

Okay, I followed the first tutorial and successfully restored both IMEIs, still not working. I noticed, while flashing the xQCN file, it gives me a message about the model number of the phone not matching the model number of the xqcn file. Is that normal?
Last resort is to follow the second tutorial and redo everything.

Waitaminute.. What is the error message exactly? This is odd, I used that file many times without any glitch, issue or error message.

In fastboot mode what is the answer of the phone to the command adb devices and fastboot getvar product? I don't care about the serial but all the rest.

Something is not quite straight here - the QCN file there is for Mido, that's 100% sure.
You started the thread with this statemenet: "Bricked the phone about half a year ago"
What did you do exactly? Once I had a phone - remotely resurrected - that has been flashed with a markw ROM (Redmi 4X) instead of Redmi Note 4X (mido) and the guy experienced something similar.

Pasting from a thread I made back when I bricked the phone:
Here's the situation:
Was on stock MIUI Global 9.5.8.0 with RedWolf Recovery.
Did a backup and flashed LineageOS
Wasnt happy with it and flashed back the backup, including the Firmware and EFS partitions, basically every partition
Bootloop, WiFi and BT driver prolly messed up, cant connect and restarts upon trying to connect to WIFI/BT.
Tried flashing other firmware, various combinations of wipes, flashes, MiFlashTool fastboot rom, nothing helped.
Tried flashing with EDL, the newest ROM gives me "Too many lines in XML file", old ROM flashed fine, but then couldn't even get to fastboot.
Now: Can't get to fastboot nor recovery, phone goes to EDL mode w/ red LED blinking when connected to PC.
QFIL gives me "Cannot read packet header, read 0 bytes", same with MiFlash.

Not a good move. System is up and running, tho, right?
If you go to Settings - About phone - Baseband - what is the baseband version?
Does it looks like a decent version info or say "unknown"?

Don't have the backup.
Sorry for confusing you, the Now section is from the old post, I haven't done anything since my last post.

Decent version. Specifically: 953_GEN_PACK-1.148143.1.163979.1
Also can we switch to some IM like WhatsApp so we don't have to keep pinging each other via quotes? I will post the solution/result in the thread.
