Installation of TWRP 3.0.0.2 - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi i want to flash the latest twrp 3.0.0.2 recovery.i used twrp manager its says flashing successful but when i boot to recovery it is not the latest one rather the old one.i used android terminal still no avail. When i go into the recovery to install recovery through the img.it tells me to select partion to flash recovery and it only shows kernal image last time i selected kernal image by phone was soft bricked. anyone knows what to do.

You can install it using your PC by using ADB commands.
Since you was on a twrp recovery so you made your bootloader device unlocked so you can easily install twrp 3.0.2 which maybe help you in solving your problem
To flash Twrp 3.0.2 follow this:
1- Download Twrp 3.0.2 from this link: https://dl.twrp.me/sirius/twrp-3.0.2-0-sirius.img.html
2- By using Fastboot you have installed on your PC, Put the twrp 3.0.2 you have downloaded in step 1 in the folder of ADB and Fastboot and you can flash twrp 3.0.2 by using this command: fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.2-0-sirius.img
If there is any question or a problem with this guide just tell me and i will help you
I hope that i had helped you.

If you tried to install it with locked bootloader all the ways will give the failed as a result because you cannot write the recovery on system partition without unlocking your bootloader... So you have to unlock the bootloader first and try the method i have told you then you will find that the twrp 3.0.2 recovery is flashed successfully.
---------- Post added at 06:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:07 PM ----------
You can unlock your bootloader using this guide:
1- Download and install Flashtool from this link: http://uploaded.net/file/4bpi8szk
2- Launch the Flashtool program on your computer after the installation is complete.
3- Click the ‘BLU’ icon in Flashtool.
4- You will now be asked to connect the Xperia Z2 in Flashmode.
5- Power off the phone.
6- Connect the USB cable to your PC first, then press and hold Volume Down on your smartphone and connect it to your PC.
– Flashmode should be loaded and Flashtool will show the Device Selector screen.
7- Select your Sony Xperia Z2 model from the list.
8- Now Flashtool will display the ‘Bootloader Unlock Wizard’ screen.
9- Click on the Unlock Button for the Bootloader Unlock process to begin.
10- After the process is complete you will see the Flashtool log window. Check the log info and verify that the Bootloader Unlock process has been applied successfully.
These were all the steps that you had to take in order to unlock the bootloader of your Sony Xperia Z2 smartphone.
I wish i have helped you.
If you want more description about anything just ask me and i will answer

I don't want to create new thread.
Is there a way to flash TWRP using already flashed TWRP? I don;t see option to flash an image to /recovery partition.
Why I'm asking? I want to use MultiRom, but stay with F2FS formatted /data. MultiRom TWRP seems to not support F2FS, so I won;t be able to make backups using it. So I thought that I would use TWRP for Primary Rom and MultiRom TWRP for Secondary one.
Is it possible to flash it wit a zip file?

the problem is not enter into recovery.
the first time i have flash wrong twrp. when i enter in recovery, by hardware procedure, in the bottom of screen i read version of twrp.. and is version twrp 3.0.0r2. this is a wrong version!
then.. i do flash from pc, flash operation success.. and ONLY with command "fastboot boot XXXXX.img" , where xxxx.img is name of recovery i have flash before, i can enter in correct twrp.
i don't know why, but i think i can't flash and fix the correct version of twrp. bhooooooooooo!
edit:
problem solved..
i have rename twrp img file in "recovery.img" and i have flash it in fastboot mode by pc..
i have try to enter in recovery with adbo command (adb reboot recovery) and phone reboot in correct twrp version;
then i have try to enter in recovery with hardware procedure (poweroff, volume up + power and release power when appear Mi logo, tap on "recovery") and it work;
and, in the end, i have try to nter in recovery mode by app "updater"
all works perfectly now!

Hi,, i've successfully unlocked my redmi 3 bootloader, and now there's root permission option in security app. I tapped it and confirmation prompt to get root acces appear, i click ok, then my device download something (my assume its root file), and reboot by it self after. Now i have rooted redmi 3 with unlocked bootloader but no superSU installed.
I want to install twrp recovery which is official now for redmi 3, i've read about dm-verity thing in our redmi 3 and still confused about it.
Can i just install twrp recovery thru twrp manager app from play store? If yes, can i go into twrp recovery via updater app.?
Thanks in advance.

Congratulations you just followed the official method of getting root access successfully, root access is not from SuperSU but from MIUI itself, it's in the Security app.
You can, but the phone won't boot anymore then, because of the dm-verity thingy. So in another word, you have to disable it by flashing a modified boot image, I'm not sure but some custom ROM might have come with the modified image already, but MIUI ROM definitely doesn't, it is certain you'd get a boot loop after flashed TWRP and try to boot into Android again. That's the simple explanation. And yes you can go to TWRP from updater app, it's the same thing as writing 'reboot recovery'.

That's probably b'coz it still isn't flashed.
Install MiPc suit and connect once with USB debugging on so that all the drivers do get installed correctly then
When using adb first type adb devices and look for your device to be sure that the device is connected correctly.
Which Twrp are you trying to flash?

I installed the flyme rom now no recovery, fastboot and flashmode

Good Mornig
:crying: I installed the latest Flyme rom on my Togari but now i can´t boot in to my recovery.
But if I boot into the Rom I don´t have Problems.
I only cant Boot to the Recovery and also i don´t can boot into fastboot or flashmode.
Sry for my English but im from Germany
If i try to boot into flashmode only the led is going for 1 sec. yellow and my phone turns off.
Also if i try to boot into fastboot, my Phone vibrates 3 times and then it turns off.
If I try to boot with the NDR Utils App into the Revovery, my Phone only makes a Bootloop.
I used this Rom :FlymeOS_4.5.1.1R C6833/02
and here is the thread :http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z-ultra/development/rom-flymeos4-5-1-1r-c6833-02-t3165834
ADB is installed. The Phone is also Rooted. for Recovery i Used NDR Utils.
Thanks for Help
NDR utilities....I guess you are using NUTS XZU dual recovery well mate it clearly said that whenever you flash a rom using xz dual recovery....you will lose your recovery...there was a flashasble zip which needed to be flashed after flashing rom which won't erase your recovery
Now regarding your fastboot or flashmode.... Are the latest and proper drivers install....don't care about the led flashing does the PC detect the device In flashmode? If yes just reflash stock back using androxyede flashtool and make sure you install the new bootloader next time via Emma which has a separate recovery partition in it.....regards if you need any help feel free to PM
You can flash dual recovery or download twrp manager, follow instructions and you'll be granted twrp recovery

Don't use install img option on twrp it may not work always
Instead of that you can flash recovery using fastboot with "fastboot flash recovery (the name of recovery).img) command

After install recovery with "Fastboot flash recovery ...img"

Note that the Z2, like most other Sony devices does not have a proper bootable recovery. As such you have to install a kernel that includes a recovery with it. For a time I will try to continue to supply updated stock kernels repacked with TWRP in them. If you are running one of my kernels or have a custom ROM like OmniROM installed, you can install TWRP in the FOTAKernel partition to stay on the latest version of TWRP.
Device page on our website
Mirror 1
Mirror 2
To install a stock kernel, boot the device into fastboot mode and then from your computer: fastboot flash boot path/to/filename.img

However is it true? With latest updates there was bootloader update which brings (or at least should as Sony said) /recovery partition (or more gives access to it, coz partitions was probably always there).
However how it exactly works? I always thought that onee flashed update with newest bootloader will leave new bootloader and this partition forever. But I got Z2 with .291, downgraded it to 4.4.2 for Root and TA backup and than tried to flash recovery to recovery partition, but got error: FAILED (data transfer failure (Unknown error)).
Does it mean that only on latest update(s) there is possibility to use this partition?
Never tried it on my ZU before. I just started form latest 5.1.1.
EDIT: OK, so what i assumed was right - on 6.0.1 I was able to flash the recovery to it's partition.
Now the problem is with booting into it. How? With Power + Vol- it still stright to boots to OS...
EDIT2: adb reboot recovery boots to different bootloader screen (Power+Vol- gives SONY screen and adb gives SONY + XPERIA screen.
However it still boots strght to Android...
Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I have 23.5.A.1.291 + unlocked bootloader + TWRP 3.0.2-0 (official) flashed with fastboot flash recovery img.
I'm 100% sure that SONY screen (w/o XPERIA) is the right one as I have identical one on my ZU when booting into bootloader-recovery mode. But why here it don't boot TWRP, but OS?
HELPPPP
Pleaseeeee tell me how did you flash twrp 3.0? I have tried almost everything it now seems impossible for me... Pleaseee helpp me T_T ... Thankk youuu

[Help] Bootloop on Xiaomir Redmi Note 4X

Hello, I'm kind of new at this (this is my first post) so be gentle
So, the last few days I've been trying to install a new rom on my phone (Redmi Note 4X) and the problems started with the model. I only seem to find Redmi Note 4 roms, and as I've come to find, mine is supposed to be the mido one (correct me if I'm wrong though). I have unlocked the bootloader, I have installed and enabled the fastboot on my phone, so the next step was to install the latest TWRP.
There came more problems; I tried doing this through the app and it just wouln't flash it. So I found a guide on how to root my phone and install a new recovery through adb and I followed it. It didn't work. I couldn't find the right twrp version for my phone. When I finally did realise my phone needed mido, I found the latest from the TWRP website. It wouldn't load through adb again. I found a thread about a fixed mido version, which finally worked for me. But my brother who was helping me, and isn't as much of a noob as I am (he has flashed rom and recoveries many times on his Nexus 5X), decided that I necessarily need the latest twrp if I'm going to flash a new rom, so he flashed the new twrp through the old one, and soft bricked my phone (I think). So I'm searching for a guide to unbrick it. (Which I can't seem to find to work at least).
To conclude;
I have unlocked my bootloader
I have access to the fastboot
I tried to flash a recovery
I failed many times, but I managed it
I flashed the latest twrp and bricked my phone
I don't have access to the recovery
My phone is still on a bootloop
I am not sure about which phone model I have
Help!
Thanks in advance.
1. Just check your phone model on its box. If its Snapdragon version (Mido), then just install it via fastboot. (code: fastboot flash recovery twrp-midoxx.img). If you are success, then try to reboot to recovery (fastboot boot twrpmido-xx.img). After booted, then you just manage to rom.zip you want to install. If you don't have it, then download it before from your PC and push it to your phone. Or just enable Mtp checklis from TWRP n copy that file to your internal phone/sdcard. Wipe all/factory reset except internal storage. Then you dan install rom.zip normally. N reboot. (Note: if you are on MIUI and wanted to always stay on it, just flash the file called lazyflasher.zip. n' wipe cache n art cache only then reboot). Flashing custom recovery on stock MIUI Will manage the device Going to bootloop)
2. If you have mediatek version (nikel), searching the fastboot Rom from miui website and flash it normally via fastboot. (SP Flash tool)
Warning: flash the wrong rom file into wrong phone Will make your device brick. So becarefull n knowing what model/code name you have.

Firstly, enter fastboot mode on your device. Connecting to pc and flashing the twrp for mido. "fastboot flash recovery twrp-mido.img". Then boot to it using " fastboot boot twrp-mido.img". Then you will enter the recovery (twrp) in a second. Copy the lazyflasher into your phone (enable mtp first in Mount option in twrp) that you downloaded from pc. Just flash the lazyflasher.zip and reboot.
And why you don't want to flash lazyflasher when it very easy to flash it using recovery twrp? adb? You mean android debugging? Actually, you cant flash a .zip file into your system partition except through fastboot mode. However, fastboot mode (in cmd) only recognize a .img file. I just try to tell you the easier method to make your device boot up.
