Confused about China vs Global

Hi all,
I'm considering getting a Redmi Note 3 (Snapdragon version/Pro). I'm a little confused about the bands that it supports. When I check wellmyphonework.net it says that the Global model will work on LTE Band 4, but the China/Unicom one will not. Looking in the forums I see Global and China Roms, but nothing definitive about separate physical models.
Is the hardware all the same(ignoring RAM/Storage variations)? Do the supported bands depend solely on which ROM is installed? If there are distinct hardware versions is there any way to tell which one I would get from ebay or AliExpress?
Thanks in advance.

The lte band support is hardware dependant, software doesn't matter.
I've bought mine with China global and lte is working fine in Europe.
Sent from Note 3, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3.

That's simply not true. The SD650 supports Band 4 which is what he's asking about. Europe doesn't use Band 4 and all the versions support European lte bands. On another thread here a user with AT&T was getting lte on the vendor rom and changed to the Global rom and now only gets H+. I too would like to know which version of the phone I have.

Redmi Note 3 SD650 China (Full Netcom) version LTE band 8 support

Hi!
For the chinese Redmi Note 3 SD650 version (called Full Netcom in China meaning it supports China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom) the LTE-FDD bands are listed as B1/B3/B4/B5/B7/B8.
Does anyone have 100% proof, preferably with a screenshot, that it does support band 8 (using the global stable MIUI if possible)? For me it seems to work but I live in the city so band 7 is used most of the time. Also some people don't believe that this phone support band 8 so it would be good to know for sure.

Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus - How do I know if I got the Global Version with Band 4?

Hello,
I'm planning to buy a Redmi 5 Plus 4GB/64GB for a person in Amazon.es but I need the one that has LTE Band4 [this is because I'll give it to a person who lives in Argentina where they use Band4/AWS (1700 and 2100 Mhz)]
According to Xiaomi, Spanish version has Band 4: https://www.mi.com/es/redmi-5-plus/specs/
However in Amazon I could end up getting another variant, because they are all Dispatched by Amazon, but sold by different vendors across Europe.
So is there any way to check if the Phone truly has band 4 without putting a SIM? Reading the firmware model number, using some android app or something like that? I'm planning on getting one, confirm this, and if it doesn't have band4, return it the next day. (I live in Spain so I don't have Band 4 here to test).
Thanks a lot
Global version has bands 4 and 20.
The box is orange, it says Redmi instead of Chinese letters and has a sticker that says global version on the side.
On the back of the phone it's written the model number. It should be MEG7 for global version.
