Hi.
I had windows mobile 2005, but the first version that it was upload here. Now I have changed to the latest that I have found in buzzdev but I´ve got some remaining software that don´t works... for example, I´ve got some icons of spb pocket plus, but if I try to execute it, I can´t because problems of dependences erased or something like that...
The question is: How could I cleam completly my memory to have my new windows 2005 totally new in my XDA II?
Thanks for all.

Try this part (it always helped for me .... and I installed three different ROM in the last seven days ... really annoying by the way  )
10. Now you have to hard reset your device.
Press simultaneously: Reset Button + CameraButton + RecordButton.
Hold them pressed until the "Boot Options" menu appears on the screen.
Select the options as follows:
(to select items use Record Button, to change values use Camera Button)
Enable KITL -> NO
Clean Registry Hive -> YES
Format Storage -> YES
(to set the options the way mentioned is importatnt)
Hope you have more luck with your ROM
best regards

Hi.
Yap, I think that I´m gettin´ stupid with my tests at university, and because of this, then I come back to play with my XDA II and I can´t think clearly...
It worked perfect. Now I´ve got the brand new w2k5 1.65b.96 flowin´ like water...
thanks 4 all

I'm happy to announce that, thanks to the awesome work done by the wing-linux project, it is now possible to run Android on the Startrek. Well, kind of.
Limitations
As of now, functionality is pretty limited on this hardware. The telephony drivers do work, and they automatically pick up many carriers like AT&T, but the most important apps for placing phone calls (Dialer and Contacts) will crash if you try to run them. This is a known issue related to the phone's lack of a touch screen. Audio playback is unsupported, though I've found that the microphone works during phone calls (which I've placed using commands via SSH). The external LCD only displays white.
Interestingly, Android is about as responsive as Windows Mobile on the device. There is no option (yet) to install the OS permanently; Instead, wing-linux installs to an easily-removable file on your SD card (required).
Instructions
Before you begin, make sure you have about 300MB of free space on the microSD card. (wing-linux requires installing to the microSD at the moment).
UPDATE (Nov. 10 2009)
The new wing-linux 0.4 release includes Startrek support! You can skip the list of instructions below and just install wing-linux normally. See their site for more information.
Download wing-linux (site) and extract it to your computer.
Follow the normal instructions for installing wing-linux, pretending that your phone model is the HTC Elf instead of the Startrek for now.
[*]After wing-linux is installed, browse to your microSD card using your computer and open the folder named "linux".
[*]Download the patched version of zImage, attached to this post.
[*]Replace the "zImage" file in the "linux" folder with the patched version you just downloaded. (This adds support for the Startrek's keypad to Android.)
[*]Open the file named "default.txt" and change the first line, from "set MTYPE 2372" to "set MTYPE 2487". (This tells Android that we're using a Startrek.)
[*]Save everything, place the microSD back into the phone, and start wing-linux again.
[*]After waiting a few minutes, you should have a fully navigable Android desktop!
Button Layout
I have attached a handy button diagram to this post, but the basic ones you need to know are:
Android's "MENU" button is the Startrek's "Home" button.
Android's "Back" button is the Startrek's right softkey (above the Hangup button).

Yes, I mentioned that. This isn't a final or polished release; it's just to play around with.
Works pretty good! none of the letter keys seem to work but , i did get the on screen keyboard to come up once but now i don't know what i did to get it to come up. I don't know how to remove widgets from the screen once i add one. Also how do i turn it off and get back to windows? Do i just have to pull the battery? Great job though! i can't wait to see if it will get fully functional!

Don't worry, I've observed all of the same things. And yes, I've just been popping off the battery cover to reboot for now.

EDITED ... I understand !
Update: Now with less hackery!
The wing-linux project has released version 0.4, with Startrek support built-in. You no longer have to do the special steps outlined in the original post. Hooray!
Does the 0.4 update offer any more function than the last one? I'm downloading right now but, i thought i would ask.

Other than having Startrek support already included, it shouldn't be much different from 0.4pre. I think there is a file manager application, now.

of course it can't be done .
contents of " default.txt " is different .
apparently , we must make the " default.txt " with notepad . but what's it's contents ? maybe a path that guide haaret for booting kernel .
COntent of default.txt
set MTYPE 2487
set KERNEL "zImage"
set INITRD "initramfs.cpio.gz"
set CMDLINE "debug quiet psplash=false loglevel=7 init=/sbin/init console=tty0 video=omapfb:accel gsm-wizard.noreset=1 gsm-wizard.noload=1 4"
log "earlylog.txt"

Above is the content of the file, though I would suggest you to reinstall the whole cab as I don't have this problem after installation.

Bingo !!!!!!!!
thanks . now it is installed !
booting is slow ( maybe for first time )
Glad it'd help you. Ya, booting is slow and you have to press red button (end call) when it loaded to a stage with the ANDROID, then you will only greet with the Android logo. Enjoy!
Hi everybody
so cool ! I wish full ability of android was accessible !!
more questions : can wing linux complete development of this project ?
I know some linux developers , can a linux expert remap keyboard or run other parts?
what about other packages like phone , bluetooth ? how we can have complete functionality of android on startrek?
can anybody answer?
MTYPE 2487 in default.txt
doesn't work with qtek 8500, must change to 2372.
With this change I can boot linux, but after setup, run the calibration utility, and startrek isn't a touchscreen device as you know. How can bypass this?

This week's update has a major upgrade to the Key mapping tool and is due in large part to all the feedback we’ve gotten for the Key mapping tool.
First of all, a big “Thank you” to all the gamers on Remix OS for PC that have given us all your valuable feedback on Remix OS’ Key mapping tool!
Here are the full release notes:
Remix OS for PC version: 3.0.203
Release date: August 31, 2016
Optimizations for the Gaming Toolkit app:
Key mapping on the taskbar area when the taskbar is hidden is now enabled
Fixed a bug where black screen appears for a few seconds when the Gaming Toolkit is opened
Fixed a bug where the floating button disappears when it's being dragged
Fixed a bug where the floating button sometimes becomes non-responsive it's clicked on
Fixed a bug where the animation of closing the floating button repeats a couple of times when being closed
Fixed a bug where games with high frequency click events become non-responsive (i.e. Zenonia 4)
Fixed a bug where the Gaming Toolkit will still be in effect after it's been closed
Feature added that allows key mapping for F1-F12 keys
Feature added so that the Gaming Toolkit will automatically restart if it crashes
Feature added where the Gaming Toolkit will hide taskbar automatically in edit mode
Other major changes:
1. Added support for 32-bit UEFI installation
*This added support was provided by XDA user Vioner, Remix OS user and Ambassador. Big thanks to Vioner for your help! Please join us on GitHub as we'll continue to post new projects on our Jide Technology repository!
...im facing a bug i never dd in the previous versions after updating to v3.0.203:
GameToolkit doesnt work at all, actually after launching it nothing happens at all, no floating buttons, just nothing!
1.i updated OTA succesfully
2.i even downloaded the *.iso and made a fresh install and still the same problem.
.....
is anyone else having a similar problem with this?
black screen issue not fixed, stay on 104 and stable channel if you had issues previously.
It Doesn't run correct on my device
Hi.
I installed remix os 3.0.202 64bit and 3.0.203 32bit and 64bit from both hard drive and flash memory many times
and after installation display is black but pressing arrow key and Enter key of keyboard have tap sound;
now what should I do for displaying any thing on my display?
note: there is a minus sign on the top left corner on my display after installation!
my device is dell inspiron n5110.
Can everyone help me to run remix os correctly?
tanx.
Hi, just updated to 203 and i have the same issue here, gaming toolkit showing but not working at all, keyboard not responding...?? i'm playing pinball arcade, used to work fine before updated
Upgraded to ver 202 on HDD from 104 by copying over, as I was not allowed OTA (had used USB-stick installer with INSTALL=1 and ext4). Changed root folder name from 2016-08-11 to 2016-08-23 and same edits of Grub2. Worked fine: https://youtu.be/e-4lgdjT-4Q
Then yesterday came ver 203 - same procedure - worked fine too, once changed the root folder name to RemixOS.
I did a clean install coming from 3.0.201 and ran into this...error? I had this issue on 202 as well so I was hoping 203 would've fixed it. 201 is the last bootable build for me.
My Motherboard (Asus P6T) doesn't have WiFi, and I can't seem to get past "WiFi Setup", can it be skipped? I tried every key on the keyboard...
@Gus Ghanem
....aint there suppose to be a "skip" button top right corner of the screen?..use that!
@agentg1001
Type
Code:
logcat
in the command line you see on the picture -> hit Enter -> check if it will output a loop of same lines. Shoot some pics of these or make a short video.
Also have in mind that Remix will most likely NOT boot if you have external display attached to the laptop before Remix OS logo appears.

Thank You, but it appears that's not the problem, and I didn't see anything else on the screen... The OS just isn't booting properly on my system, I select Language, then Agree, then WiFi Setup appears, it just remains at the pink and black screen, with nothing else around, and the mouse pointer appears and disappears, sometimes I can get a white context sharing menu. I tried rebooting, still all I can get is the pink and black screen, nothing else is showing up. (My video card is an Nvidia 660Ti)
@Gus Ghanem
...enter this into the command menu at the bottom: nouveau.modeset=1 i915.modeset=0
then press "b" or "f10" to boot!

Thanks again, but the OS seems to be booting fine, and the problem may have been an incompatible mouse (SteelSeries), the next problem now is overscan (I'm connected to a TV via HDMI), parts of the UI are beyond the screen edges, and so I can't complete the setup process. But that's OK, I'm only trying RemixOS. Thanks for your help.
Edit: OK, after 3 or 4 reboots, it's now working almost fine, launching Play Store caused a freeze. I'll keep trying.

The laptop was only connected to a power cord and ethernet like it always is. I reinstalled 201 and it boots perfectly fine under the same exact conditions. I will try your suggestion when I get the chance, thanks!
Dual boot gone
I had remix os installed with windows 10 home it was working but after today windows 10 put out an update and after it finished there isn't any more remix os option at boot it just goes straight into windows the remix file folder and files are still there. Any ideas??
I have a Asus X540L.
@[email protected] @wizmart - I've asked our Remix OS for PC product manager on this. He checked out the issue with the engineers and here is a possible solution:
1) Go to 'Settings > Remix OS options > Windowed mode app list > Gaming toolkit'
2) Make sure Windowed mode is enabled
Please let me know if this fixes the issue with the Key mapping tool. Thanks!

Have you tried to reinstall Remix OS again? According to my engineering colleague, it's actually pretty common for bigger Windows updates to do this to other OS you try to dual boot from.
After OTA from 3.0.201 to 3.0.203, system no longer boots up. Just shows the blinking "_" on black screen. Can't figure out what went wrong..

Your boot entry / boot files for remix were wiped during the Windows update. You need to examine if only boot entry was lost or also the files - if only entry, then you can manually add it via EasyBCD on legacy boot or via EasyUEFI on UEFI boot.
If you are not experienced in the above, it's easier to just reinstall. You can back up the data.img first, then install and then restore data.img.

....good day, i have tried all your suggestions and i have the Game tool Kit enabled in the windowed mode apps list, but the its not responding either, it opens a window and then closes without showing the floating button, same behaviour as incompatible applications i have tried installing on the system.
i get this error:

edit:
.....i have uploaded a report using google doc links u provided, and also included a video displaying what happens when launching the app either in windowed mode enabled or disabled!
thanks again!
Hi Jason, i have just had a look to my settings after your advice, gaming toolkit was enabled windows mode, i did a try again with pinball arcade just to discover there is actually a keymapping made from the game with left/right arrows active even without keymapping enable but anyway i tried again mapping other keys like before, that didn't work..i tried then with beach buggy racers, same there no success, i tried deactivate my trackpad: it was still active after reboot...i tried gaming toolkit not in windows mode, no difference, not working...
well thats my experience until now
thank you anyway for your effort Jason, keep going!
Hello,
I have a X96 Max Plus tv box buyed on december last year.
I want to use a USB game controller VID 0x0079 PID 0x0006 DragonRise Inc. generic USB Joystick.
The device is seen by the app called USB host viewer but don't generate events when key is pressed.
Also the analog button don't work.
How can I make android seen the device?
Maybe I need correct keydev.ko file? Where to find it? and how to install?
Thank in advance

You can take the file from any amlogic android 8+, as 8+ uses the new 4.x kernel I have a fair few roms and i cant find that file in any of the 9.0 roms, it may have never been compiled for the newer kernel but it give alot of options for you to look

I found the file, check it on https://github.com/ewwink/Root-Android-S905X3-plus-Dragonrise-generic-USB-Joystick-driver

have you found the file?
I would have a problem with an X96max +, namely what happens (it has any android system on it) when the HDR logo appears on the LG TV at boot, the system slows down (freezes) at the boot screen and "System UI isn't responding for a long time "subtitle for wait or close will be followed by another, then it will be very difficult to load the system, but the Wifi will be turned off. It plays on almost every boot, whether you switch from CE to droid or not. Can anyone help?
