I recently rooted my S3. Then I flashed it with a CynogenMod 12.1 to get lollipop 5.1. Everything was pretty smooth but while I was tinkering around with the phone I took out the battery before it was properly shut down. Now, I've got problems.
When I try to normally boot up, the Samsung logo will appear briefly then go the the "Galaxy S3" booting screen where it will freeze up and resist to go any further.
When I try to boot into download mode; volume down, home button, and power, it will boot into download mode but wont be recognized on any device I plug it into.
When I try to boot into recovery mode; volume up, home button, and power, it will boot exactly the same as when i try to normally, it will do the first two booting screens then freeze up.
Is my device bricked? I kind of just got this phone so I want to save it if its possible!

I tried flashing a stock Android 4.2 JB ROM that seems legit. After flashing, I rebooted my device and saw the standard Nexus boot animation. So far, I though all was well. It's not. My phone has been stuck in this constant booting state for hours. I pulled the battery after an appropriate amount of waiting and held down the power and volume down+up button. Instead of booting into Fastboot mode, it went straight to Odin Mode. All I can do with my device is boot to Odin Mode or watch the Nexus boot animation over and over again. Does anyone know the solution to my problem or some sort of utility that will help me? Thanks.
Ahh bootloops...Have you tried pressing volume down+up first, then power? Sometimes holding power, then pressing volume down first goes directly to odin mode, not recognizing the later push of volume up. I've never used odin mode..Can you boot straight to recovery, volume up+power? And do you have cwm? If you were not on stock before, then you need a factory reset before it'll boot, and perhaps even a cache wipe.
And i'd bet youd find more help if this was posted in the nexus q&a.
i was on cm 10, then my phone stopped turning on, so i used odin to get the phone back to stock android, and it still wont turn completely on. i think my boot loader may be messed up? i have no idea.
when i press the power button, first thing i see is "Samsung galaxy gt -I9000" then a screen that says "Vibrant" then screen turns black and nothing happens. i know its strange that it says gt - i9000 but thats what it used to be with the cm 10 roms.
i get to the download screen by holding volume up + power button. i can not get to recovery which used to be volume down + power button.
please help!

The reason you see Samsung Galaxy GT-I9000 when you boot your phone up is because you have somehow flashed Gingerbread bootloaders to your phone. GB bootloaders allow you to boot to download mode with UP + POWER and recovery with DOWN + POWER. This is a good thing though, I have GB bootloaders too and its much easier to boot into recovery or download. From what I can tell you need to flash back to stock again, make sure you have repartitioned checked, correct files can be found from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=849028. If it still bootloops then you may have a kernel problem, you could try to flash one of Fishman's 2.2 ROMS (Odin versions) and then flash a 2.2 kernel (Odin version), maybe this will boot your phone up.
I could use some help here.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 with the 7 inch display. I have not rooted it or modded it in anyway.
It will not boot past the SAMSUNG (with the pulsing blue color) screen. Product support wanted me to put it into recovery mode, but it won't enter recovery mode when holding power and the volume keys (either volume up or down). It just starts to boots, restarts, and then shuts down.
What do I need to do to get this thing working again? I use it all the time for school.
When I power on my samsung galaxy mega it shows me the boot logo (name of phone) and hen it cuts off.....so then I take the battery out and put it back in and press and hold power volume up and home to try to get to the boot menu...I get the boot screen and the blue text and the top left but then it doesn't go to the boot menu it goes to the android guy and starts to install the update..... Once it's done it just goes back to the boot screen get stuck back in that boot loop.....please help
sm-t870 unlocked/rooted stuck in bootloop
cannot enter recovery or download mode, or even seem to shut the tablet completely off.
any combination of buttons turns the tablet on with the message "bootloader is unlocked press power key to continue"
so holding power+volUP, must be let go to press power which seems to interrupt the button combination
power+volDOWN seems to shut the tablet off for 5 seconds but it automatically turns back on.
having plugged into laptop seems to make no difference.
help!
Hi man, have you fixed this issue? I'm having the exact same problems as yours. I updated my Magisk it just went bootloop.
