Hello, after a long time (about 1 year) I wanted to turn on my old tablet. I charged it to 100%. Problem is, that my tablet is not booting android up. After a Samsung logo it shuts down (black screen) I tried to do data and cache wipe, but it did not help. Also I flashed many ROMs and recoveries but still the same. Battery unplug for ~15 minutes did not help. I do not know what to do now. Any ideas?
(Sorry for my bad English, hope you understand)
Can anyone help please?
Is it possible that battery is the problem, even if it shows 100% charged? When I press power (while charger is plugged) tablet restarts and it is charging again...

I'm not sure what happened. My US Galaxy Player was working fine yesterday, but this morning when I went to wake it from sleep it was acting like it had a dead battery. I plugged it into a charger and rebooted it, and the battery manager said I had 45% charge. I unplugged it and it shut down. Not a soft shutdown, like when you select the option from the power menu, but a hard shutdown, like when you pull the plug on a computer.
I'm running the ROM, Kernel, and GApps found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2264671
(the first two downloads)
It's been a few days since I last flashed it, so I'm wondering if there might be a hardware issue.
PS: I also am noticing that when I do power it on while plugged into the wall, it skips the Samsung Galaxy S & CyanogenMod screen (and the one before that, I can't remember what it says), and goes straight to the CyanogenMod loading wheel. Every time I've tried to start it up, I've been unable to do so before it shows the Battery Charging icon (for charging when shutdown). I haven't noticed an animation for the charging icon, but my Player is now reporting that it's at 60% charge, so it seems to be working.
I've tried leaving the microUSB end of the charging cable in and unplugging the wall part, but it shut down as well (not totally unexpected, but I'm asking for help so I figure I should include as much info as possible).
Thanks in advance for any help you can give!
Fixed it (at least for now). Re-flashing the kernel was all it took.
JUST FYI
AFAIK, All of the newer kernels out there for the YP-G70 have this problem where, if you boot your device plugged in and then unplug it, it shuts off. If you boot your device not plugged in and then plug it in afterwards it's fine. I could be wrong but I think it's a problem in the kernel that everyone is using for a base (CM 10.1) . It's not really that big of a deal but it's something to keep in mind.
Boot with cable connected -> Shutdown before disconnecting cable.
Boot without cable -> Everything is normal...
Howdy,
I'm having a strange problem with my totally stock S3 with the latest android update. I found it dead in my pocket the other day. It was totally unresponsive to the power key.I tried about 5 different batteries to no avail. When I plug it into a car charger, it shows an empty battery with a frozen 'thinking' circle, then turns off. When I plug it into a Samsung wall charger, it does the same 'frozen thinking circle, ' then appears to charge the battery. While it's plugged in to the samsung charger, I can turn it on. It goes through the boot screens, but crashes during the Sprint splash screen. If I unplug the charger, it is completely unresponsive again. I COULD boot into recovery mode (with the samsung charger plugged in), and have tried wiping the cache. I don't want to factory recover it because the data on the phone is more important to me than the hardware. I can't get it to boot into safe mode.
Today I flashed the firmware with ODIN. ODIN says it was successful, but the phone still has exactly the same problem, except that I can't get it to boot into Recovery or Download mode anymore.
Thanks in advance for any ideas.
Eric

So... My dad bought this S2 for him a couple of years ago, and on the first 15 days, he let it fell, and the screen broke, but he kept using it like this until around 3 months ago...
Now he has a G2, and the S2 had no use anymore, and I thought about using it as a dashcam on the car...
Installed dailyroad voyager on it, and used as dashcam for about 15 days...
Then today, I got on the car, it was off, but with the charging cable plugged in, I pressed the home button, it said the battery was 100% charged, so I tried turning it on
It went until the animation that plays when booting, but restarted, I tried again about 5 times, each time it rebooted a bit early than before
It got to a point where it didn't even reach the animation, just the "Samsung Galaxy S2" appeared on screen, and rebooted...
Then I tried going on recovery mode, and it worked, so I cleaned the cache partition, made it clean user files, etc... then pressed to reboot, and still didn't work...
So I thought it could be a battery problem, and unplugged the cable while it was on the recovery screen, and it didn't turn off, I let it on the recovery screen, and went to do some work for about 2 hours, it was still on
Now it won't do anything without the cable, can't turn on, can't go to recovery, and even with cable plugged the "Samsung galaxy S2" screen won't appear anymore, and I couldn't get to the recovery screen anymore....
Here's a video of the actual situation:
Does anybody knows what's happening and how to fix?
Hello everyone!
As title says ,my samsung galaxy II (CM12.1 flashed) doesn't give any signs of life.
Here is the story:
I turned off my phone this morning and plugged in charger. After hour i plugged off charger from my phone and tried to turn it on.As it was turning on it got stuck on samsung logo.Afterwards i went into recovery mode and wiped /cache.Everything was fine. Then i went to "factory reset" where problem occured...while it was deleting /data it got stuck.Few minutes later my phone suddenly turned off. After that moment it just won't turn on.I tried to get into recovery and download mode but phone doesn't react. When i plug in charger it doesn't react neither. Battery was at 50% when i tried to turn it on.
Before this, phone was running fine. But recently it was freezing a lot so i had to take off batery and put it back in.
Im not native english speaker so don't get mad on my "perfect" english
I hope someone will help me diagnose the problem
Thank you
Goodmorning.
....the same here..... sadly.
This is what I know regarding that unable to turn phone back on problem, perhaps can solve yours.
We know the S2 i9100 (and maybe the other variants too) has "problem" with battery levels. In my case, it won't surprise when I got (for example) 48% then drops drastically to 3% after reboot. The problem sometimes also occur when I reboot to system from recovery.
Regarding to your problem, try to recharge your S2 until 100% (in this case, phone is off completely), unplug the charger, then turn it on by holding the power button.
If the phone still won't turned on, try this tips as it always working for me. Plug the charger and try to turn the phone on (holding the power button). If the phone just go back to battery indicator screen (sometimes the screen will blinking once), here the problem.
From here, you need to see what kind of battery indicator image shown on the screen. If the image is a battery indicator with round progress inside it (and doesn't change no matter how long you expect to it), you need to press and hold the power button to restart. Repeat this until you got the image with battery indicator with ACTUAL battery level and bar shown. When you see this, unplug your charger, wait until the screen is completely off, then holding the power button to turn on the phone. In my case, this is always work.
If for some reason you never get the correct battery indicator screen after many tries, try to remove the battery off, wait for at least 15 seconds, put it back on, then try the procedure again.
Hope that help.
Hello, I have a Galaxy Note II sgh-t889. The phone worked perfect until I recently flashed it to Android 6 with cynogen mod. The phone worked fine for a few weeks, now the phone only powers on when connected to a charger. When removed from charged it goes back to the Samsung note II logo screen and won't boot past. I don't think it's a battery issue as I can boot in bios and it shows the battery is %95 full. It will sit on the logo screen until charger is plugged in, then will boot fine to OS. I've factory reset multiple times to no avail. I've read other forums of users who experienced similar issues and have narrowed it down to a possibly corrupt flash. The problem being, when connected to my pc the phone won't boot to home screen, it just sits on the logo screen. (So Odin does not detect the phone) The solution I was told is to flash it back to stock/oem rom. The problem is I can't get it to bboot to home screen when connected to pc, only on wall charger. If someone could please give me some insight, I would be more than grateful. I don't have the money atm to buy a new phone, so my only option is to try and get this fixed. Also I don't have an external sd. Can someone point me in the right direction of what to do ? I'm so stumped and I can't stand having to pack my phone around on the charger all the time...
