I have read of a few people using dual sim adapters and want to try one out myself Can anyone recommend one for my nexus 6?
Switching sims is annoying and I want to be able to switch between my data and regular pay and go sim without changing sim cards all the time
Will it make a difference where I order from being in the UK? Just a thought.
"EDIT"
I jumped straight in and ordered this one because I couldn't wait Will let you know how it goes if and when it turns up!

This sounds interesting. Did a search, but didn't find much info except this guy's youtube video. Found a cheap one on eBay, but shipping time is like 2-4 weeks while Aliexpress can do 10-15 days for a bit extra.
If it works for you, be sure to post back. Might be useful for using my freedompop sim as a backup.
Edit: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Port...dby-for-iPhone6-6plus-4-4S-5/32412564754.html seems to be cheaper with the faster shipping possible as well. Missing out on sim adapters.
I've used some similar looking ones on older phones which required restarting the phone to work but they did work fine but that was a long time ago.
And darn it, I didn't see that other adapter
Oh well, Ordered the one in the first post for now Just have to wait and see although it's going to take forever to arrive either way, Just hope it's worth it !!!

The sound quality was bad for both or the 2nd sim? I'm planning to use the second sim for data only. Might run into issues since main SIM is CDMA carrier but cheap enough that its worth trying for me.
That's my plan too, The second sim will only be for data, I was hoping that with some luck it wouldn't affect calls from my main sim
do you just leave the thing sticking out of the phone?

I guess when someone has it i wonder about water resistance being compromised.
Well... Just got mines; however, the adapter prevents me from sliding the sim slot back in fully. It seems to recognize my ringplus sim, but gives no data. Seems like it won't work with CDMA in primary and Freedompop in secondary. There's a youtube video of Cricket and TMobile working together though.

I'd like to do a hybrid of what you're trying to do and that youtube video...Ringplus and Cricket. I'm not sure if you can do sim switching between CDMA and GSM though.
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like it can. I think the adapter doesn't play well with CDMA at all as it just sat there unable to see the Ringplus UICC sim card. I'll try to get cricket and freedompop working when I get home today. If that works, at least I know it isn't a faulty adapter. Then I'll try to do gsm + cdma one more time.
Edit: Online searching shows dual sim adapters that are compatible with CDMA. The adapter itself looks the same, so maybe I just didn't get the connections right. :\
Edit 2: I got it working It takes like 3 minutes for it to switch between Cricket and Freedompop though... It would be faster to just swap cards if you have the tools lol. Still no go with Ringplus + freedompop
Mine's has notyet arrived Although I am sure it's just taking it's time sight seeing on the way to me from china
ETA is 15-29 days from my order so I have some time to wait yet

Sprint (Freedompop) has no HSPA network... So probably no it wasn't working unless you saw a 3G or LTE icon.

I'm using their global GSM sim. It uses Tmobile and ATT roaming in US.
I thought when you mentioned Freedom Pop, you meant FP on the Sprint network. So 2 GSM sims should work.
I'm looking for validation if CDMA and GSM will work.
Thanks.

Just bought this phone new from AT&T (no commitment pricing), and it should be here within the next few days. I'm wondering if the phone out of the box includes a compatible SIM card? I'm coming from an iPhone 4, so I can't just stick my micro SIM card in if it doesn't. Even if I get a micro SIM to SIM adapter, would I be able to access the appropriate HSPA+ network with that? Much thanks if you can point me in the right direction.
Once you get the phone go to att and ask to get a new one for the phone they won't charge you anything

Yes, AT&T always sends out a new SIM card with new phones. You can also ask for one at local AT&T store for free.

Oh, good to hear. I wonder why the sell one then (whoops, can't post links to AT&T's site yet) or why others have to buy adapters?
I came from iphone also, and was bummed to learn micro sim doesn't work in the s2. The phone will ship with a new regular sized sim inside. so if you dont need to use your iphone 4 anymore, or dont want to, call 611 from your iphone before you do anything with the s2 and it will walk you through getting the new sim activated.
I ordered a micro sim adapter and it works great. Kind of annoying that you can't get the adapter free from ATT. The micro sim works fine on hspa+ also. so if you want to swap back and forth you can, just know that ATT wont help you with this.

Oh, right. People like to switch back and forth between phones, but I thought the data services weren't compatible?
I drop my micro sim into my s2 and I get H+ up top and data speeds and call quality are the same... I could be wrong tho...
in my case I need to be able to use the iphone 4 on network for development.
H+ is defaulted because hspa+ uses the same towers as 3g and by assumption, most, if not all, 3g towers have been upgraded.
Call qualities aren't suppose to be any different.

Because sims aren't 'free'. They are given free as a courtesy under certain circumstances--eg new acts/upgs/swapping devices/defective sim..

I contacted Bell (a cellphone company in Canada) there saying it won't work on there network cause it's HSPA phone but I checked the specs & this is indeed a CDMA phone. There saying if it was a CDMA phone it would not have a sim card slot. I did notice they were calling it the "Vigor" instead of the new name. Can anyone explain if this is right? I don't want to go out buying a card & waisting money if what they said is true.

It is an LTE/CDMA/GSM/WCDMA device. It does have a sim card slot. And it isn't called the Vigor any more. The same way the EVO 4G is no longer called the Supersonic.

This is indeed a CDMA phone. It has a SIM slot because its also a GSM/LTE/WCDMA phone as well and will work on those networks too.
I was able to activate it on a GSM network but I'm not getting any data. Is there a way to fix this?
There is a thread for it in general, should check there.

I was curious because I heard that the Droid Incredible 4G has a GSM radio in it so I did an experiment. I used a T-mobile micro SIM. I used the 4GLTE switch app for the Thunderbolt to access the hidden menu and I changed the radio mode to one that included GSM/W-CDMA. I popped in my T-mobile SIM and, presto, I got a T-mobile signal. I tested and I was able to make and receive calls and text messages. I had to manually set the APN for data to epc.tmobile.com and now I have EDGE data. I am sure an AT&T Sim will get HSPA+. The GSM appears unlocked now but hard to access. I am afraid, however, that once Verizon releases the update to make GSM roaming available, that it will be locked. Anyway, for now, you can pop in a GSM SIM and use your phone native.

Works on AT&T with EDGE data as well. I haven't gotten HSPA (any variant) or AT&T LTE working, and I can't play with it too much because it's not my SIM
ATT LTE won't work because the frequencies are different from Verizon but I am surprised that HSPA didn't work. Did you use a setting that included W-CDMA? GSM only would likely mean Edge only.

Im afraid I cant get this to work. Does it require a rooted phone?
I have the app, I have a T Mobile micro sim installed. I click on the drop down menu (within the app) and choose the first menu item "Select radio band" and pick PCS (1900-MHz Band) and I get a "successful" prompt afterwards (only when the Tmo sim is installed btw).
I am unable to choose "GSM Only & GSM auto (PRL)" menu choices. Is this normal? I am able to choose GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto though. I dont get any sim error messages, but the phone never seems to want to camp on any GSM network.
You are looking in the wrong place. You need the drop down menu that includes GSM, W-CDMA, EVDO, LTE in various combinations. Select one with GSM in it. Also, I found that you need to have your Verizon SIM in first and then hot swap it with the t-mobile sim.
On the Rezound if you make a couple build.prop tweaks it fixes texting and data on GSM.

No, I was in the right place to begin with, I just thought it would be able to pick just gsm but it wont.
And you left out that piece of informationin bold, but still not working...

Anyone have any luck with this?
OP, is your phone stock? Rooted?

One additional thing I found was that I got it to work by hot swapping the Sims. It seems like the Verizon sim has to be in when the phone boots. Once it boots, use Phone Info to change the mode to GSM and then switch your sim.

I would think it should work. The ESN is used for the CDMA networks, the IMEI is used for GSM. Stick with GSM and you should be ok...

it is from us cellular if you ask me its the s3 mini anyways itsa cdma phone that has a sim slot which has a card in it for us ceullar. now im confused the phone specs say its cdma only but with a sim card that makes me t hink its gsm global(locked to any us gsm providers im sure) and cdma so I would assume it will work with say cricket wireless.
I am leaving u ceulluar and would like to use the phone with c ricket wireless and being its a cdma phone im surei could it is just that sim card confused me.
I know on phone in past cricket can take your imei i think it is and use a tool over the phone to convert it to propperly work on their network.
So basically anyone know if this phone can be used with cricket? is it locked? do I ahve to flash it. if the gsm part is locked that wont matter since i will only be ising the cdma part. here is the link to the phone on us cellular

Edited: The sim card has your programing for CDMA & 4g/LTE access. Just took mine out and it has zero service without it. I would guess as long as you put it in another compatible phone you would get service.

So, just wondering, would the Samsung Axiom work on T-Mobile or AT&T ?
yes and no
The R830 by U.S cellular is a CDMA phone. now ah days having a sim card slot does not symply mean its GSM ....TMobile....GSM ALL DAY. ATT GSM all day. Vzw,sprint, uscellular...CDMA. the Sim card in question is a 4glite. it controls the 4g side and basically activates the phone upon new activation. the question is: WELL THIS PHONE WORK ON CRICKET? Answer...yes...I put one on Pageplus by just activatiing the imei and then OTA...but I'm having trouble with the DAta side... cant get data or MMS (picture messaging) to work..talk and texts works fine.....Now im on to figuring out how to get this thing into DiagMode without rooting it Oh yeah.....try activating your Imei on cricket and then star code it. . if it asks you to press 1 or 2 but you dont see a keyboard,....thats okay...just let the lady run her mouth until the music starts playing....when its done the phone will restart and you'll have talk and text

No, your phone will not work on either. The sim slot in question is for 4glte, all 4g phones will have this sim slot. A GSM sim will not provide any functionality at all.

After getting my Oneplus 2, I went to the store to get my nano SIM as I still had my micro SIM from my OPO. When I went to the store to get my SIM the CSR scanned my OP2 IMEI. Since this is not recognized by AT&T as a known device, you will be unable to get LTE. If you simply swap the IMEI back to a supported device (can be just a demo phone on the floor) and LTE will be restored. Hope this is helpful to some!

So if I just go ask for a Nano Sim and don't let them scan my lmei my lte will work? Which version do you have?
They don't need your IMEI. Just tell them you need a new nano sim.
Then do this: Go to Settings and under Wireless & networks select "More". Then go to Cellular Networks->Access Point Names and change your APN to "ATT LTE / pta". Press the back button on the top left, reboot and walla.
How about if you currently get LTE on your OPO with AT&T, when you receive your OPT shouldn't it be as easy as cutting your sims to a nano size and putting it in the OPT and receive an LTE signal?
Yup, just make sure you have the correct APN selected.
I'm on AT&T and got LTE with no issues. It just took like 15 mins after first installing sim card.
I got LTE just fine as well when I got my OPT. The APN it's currently set on is "ATT Phone".
I got LTE no problems removing my sim from my nexus 6 to the OP2.
Sent from my ONE A2005 using Tapatalk
I had the same issue coming from the OPO to the OPT. I just went up to the AT&T store and the guy immediately recognized my OPT and got me set up with a new nano sim in less than 5 minutes. He didn't need to look at my phone or old sim. They have everything they need in the system to activate your new nano sim. After installing the new sim it only took about a minute to get an LTE signal and start making calls. Hope this helps!
I'm on Cricket, which is owned by ATT. I got a new Nano, called up Cricket to activate it and I've had LTE since. They did require the IMEI for the OPT however. I did a speed test and managed to get around 6-7MPBS which is normal since Cricket is throttled to 8MPBS on ATT's network.
Out of curiosity, are you guys not getting the LTE icon? Or just not getting LTE speeds?

I strolled into the AT&T store, told them I go back and forth from OnePlus to Note 4 (for work) and that I needed a new Nano Sim. They don't say a word, NOR CAN THEY, so tell them to walk off a bridge if they do.
I got LTE immediately, but I also am trying out the ATT LTE and PTA APNS if anyone has any experience with either let me know which they think works better.
I just cut down and sanded my micro sim from my OPO, then I did the same with my AT&T Hotspot from work. Now I use my sim for voice and the 2nd sim for data since it's on a 100 GB pool that's hardly used.
Got my OPT last week and needed a new AT&T sim card, as my previous phone's was too large. They did scan my IMEI at the store to enable the device on their network. I have been unable to get LTE and I just wasted an hour on the phone with AT&T with a guy that kept putting me on hold to speak with his supervisor. At the end he told me that unlocked devices are not compatible with the AT&T LTE network.
I am waiting for a call back from a supervisor now.
Any suggestions as to what I should ask AT&T to do to enable my LTE at this point?

That's crazy. I bet your outcome would be different if you call back and talk to a different rep. I walked in and had them give me two nano sim cards without any hesitation. The guy did say he thought this phone was China only, but that's it. Took about 5 minutes.
