Help with Stock Camera development \ modification - LG G5 Questions & Answers

Hi,
I had the G2 before and the user xdabbeb created a nice modified version of the stock camera.
I'm interested to know how would you approach it from a developer point of view?
I have a G5..but how do you get the stock camera code?
I want to enable 60fps and control \ disable NR for example..
So.. how do you approach it?
Does anyone know a helpful thread about it?
Thanks,
Gal Root

You've posted in the wrong section.
You need to edit system/etc/media_profile.xml
It isn't hard to edit the file. You just need to know which lines to edit.
EDIT: There are lots of threads about it, here is one for example http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2778570

Thank you my friend!:good:
BTW, why is it the wrong section? I think it counts as G5 "Other Development", no?

Would guess that it needs to be in Q&A until you start dev?

[REF][11.05.12]New-Existing Thread TITLE/TAG Rules[new banner available]

I am no moderator but just want to share/implement this idea.
The following tags/titles are needed to be implemented in DEVELOPMENT area .
1.Thread rules for Rom developers
[ROM][ANDROID Ver.][DATE] <NAME OF ROM>[Version of your ROM]
•[ROM] indicating a ROM related thread
•[Android ver] Android version name ex: ICS or GB
•[DATE] must be in the [day.month.year] form. Example: [06.05.12]
•<NAME OF ROM> name of your rom
•[Version] is the version of YOUR ROM (not the android version)
ex : [ROM][ICS][6.5.2011]MIUI V4!| Working Camera & NEW FIXES ![v11.06]
NOTE: DO NOT MENTION NEO/NEO V IN THE TITLE cause we got separate sections for them , if the OP needs he can mention it in the first post of his thread .

NOTE : All the above tags/titles should be in capital letters only
If I've missed any let me know ill add it asap
If you have any questions about this new naming scheme, or concerns or questions in general, please do not hesitate to PM me or ask me in this thread.
This is all a work in progress, and if things need to be changed, we will change them as needed. Please bear with me as I try to sort this all out for the good of the forum.
This worked out well in other fourms so i request YOU the developers , modders , themers , & noobs to accept this proposal and help us in keeping the fourm organised and simple

IN-THREAD Idea !!!
Before you read this idea i want to make sure you know that all the extra work for implementing this will be done by me . all you do is just paste it . Hope you like the idea
Currently this will take time to implement cause of my SEM Exams till may 15 , will start working asap after my exams start.
1. Screen-shots
All the screen-shots provided by the ROM developer will be modified to be simple and fast loading.
Example :
All the processing & editing will be done by me , so that the dev's feel no burden because of this idea.
Kernel developers your benchmark scores will also be processed this way .
Just wanted to implement this so that all NEO V rom threads are simple and attractive (minimalistic )
Image Details
TYPE : .PNG
DIMEN'S: 1024 x 342 pix
Compressed for faster loading , but will see that quality will not be compromised mostly.
2.Thread Title
If you feel the above idea to be too simple then heres something to make your thread more attractive
I will provide ROM/KERNEL related threads with a TITLE image which represents their ROM/KERNEL . 2-3 Best features which you think will highlight youur ROM/Kernel will also be shown in that IMAGE .
And Firstly the most active Kernel's/Rom's will get the TITLE IMAGES
EX: ICS kernels / ICS ROMS First .
finally i got one to show u as a example
1)
2)
seems like xda is compressing the images (image 1) when i upload it , so i am using an alternative DEV-HOST file sharing site to provide you with best quality images as in image 2

Nice idea, will be easy to sort out everything
You forgot themes, here's a suggestion for themes
•[THEME] Indicating a Theme related thread
•[For which ROM] For which type of rom(like stock or aokp or cm or miui)
•<NAME OF THEME> name of your Theme
•[Version] Latest version of the theme
•[DATE] Last updated day, must be in the [day.month.year] form. Example: [06.05.12]

Indeed a good idea Vimjam
go ahead with this, but if the people learn how to search then they dont have to start a new thread in general, they can ask thier questions in General Chat at the general topic, or they can look in the sticky thread of mine, because i must report 2 a 3 times a day to close a thread to another thread, of double post or its already posted, i hope you understand me, if everyone post my general chat or sticky in thier sig (i mean recognized peeps like vimjam etc) we come a lot further and then everyone knows that
I really appriciate that.
but again mate... GOOD JOB
Edit: What about Contributors, any good ideas for us ??

Welcome to Dev.
1. This is Dev. Not Q&A. Not "herpy-derpy I don't know how to mount rfs" fun time. We're not here to help you with your stupid problems that you could have just googled.
2. ALL-CAPS IS NOT CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL. Even if it was, even cruise control needs a decent driver.
Now google, "How to mount RFS in (operating system, preferably linux), and see what you get.
Good? Good.
Now, lock or move.

This is Dev. Not Q&A. People shouldn't go to Dev to ask questions about general Android information. Furthermore, I'm here to publish to push forward (in the limited ways I can) development for the Galaxy Player. Dev's don't need crap mucking up this area.

Many times, no. It's not needed. For basic compilation, it's really not. Anyway, many people can just dump the files they need from the device itself.

The visual portion in Eclipse is for layout xml files. If your xml is just a plain xml it will not do anything for you visually.
What exactly are you trying do?
Use Google to find tutorials about xml file creation. A simple defined search such as "android xml tutorial" returns quite a bit of info.

Well im trying to build a systemui. And i know i can pnly build it from scratch.
But the trouble im facing is i cant even start a project related to what i want to do..
I read and search for tutorials beyond tutorials but still cant find anything anout opening a window to do that.
Just some tutorials stating that what relative layout and linear layouts and some about how to add features related.
Havent looked into videos though. Because what i saw at the first page of google was about how to install adt plugin.
So the main problem im facing now is, could anyone give me some tips or guides to open a window to start my next phase of learning

I'm going to assume, probably a bad idea (lol), that you mean for a sony device as that is what is in your signature. Why not pull apart an existing systmeui from that device and go through it to see what stuff is doing? Then you can create what you want.
Here is a link for a tutorial about a Sense device but the basic idea is similar for all devices just the procedure might be a little different. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1453869
Also, in this forum are threads on decompiling the systemui.apk.

Thank u for your advices.
U mean the path "/system/lib", right?
I have found 4 files (below) which contain "camera" in their names, but just have no idea to add into apk file.
Is there any possibility to the files that don't contain "camera", but are relative to the camera?

Once you find out the dependent files (Re-read the guide) you take these files and package them in CWM flashable .zip not necessarily adding them into the apk file.

Oh man, I would love to be able to get the PixelMaster app back on my Zenfone 2 (I'm running Cyanogenmod 12). The default Google camera sucks horribly compared to the stock ASUS camera app.
Has there been any more work on this project? I'm gonna read that guide myself and work on it, but I guess I'd have to put the stock ROM back on my phone first.

Oh, really? That's kinda nice, although yeah the depth-of-field working would sure be nice. I'll have to try it out tonight. I can just use the .apk from the OP, correct?
Well I tried installing that .apk from the OP. Had to allow installation from unknown sources first, then after hitting Install, it asked me to give Google permission to send data and whatever else. Regardless if I select Accept or Decline, I always get an "App not installed" message.
Damnit, I was looking forward to using it! I think I'm gonna try stripping it from the stock ROM myself.

Alrighty, thanks. I actually was searching for PixelMaster .apk this weekend but didn't have much luck besides seeing a ton of frickin spam sites masking as legit .apk download sites. I'll do another search tonight.
Hopefully I can get the .apk to install. It sure would be nice to have the depth-of-field working, but after skimming through that thread linked earlier (How to Port OEM Apps to Your Current ROM) there's no way I can follow that. It's nice the guy put together a guide, but being unfamiliar with this stuff I need to follow something written in clear English.
I guess the ASUS Camera app was easier to find than I thought. The first time I tried it was nothing but spam site after spam site. Maybe it was Bing's fault, haha.
But I got version 2.0.0.150805_5 and it installed with no problem and works great. Thanks for your help, ejames2001, I appreciate it.
