Samsung Galaxy S5 keys suddenly stopped working - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I had a Lollipop (I think 5.0) installed on my S5, and all of a sudden my 2 touch keys from each side of home button stopped working! Unfortunatelly It's not a problem with lights, they didn't react at all.
What I did was making a backup first, then factory reset the phone, installing the new software (G900FXXXUCPE2 6.0.1), rooted the phone (CF autoroot), restoring my data and it was fine....for a short while until same thing happened again.
I rooted my phone again and after it was fine....for a few hours, then I did it again, it was ok for a few hours again. This seems to be a software problem, but I have no clue what could cause this.
It's anoying to live without this 2 keys, and rooting the phone all over again.
Anyone has a clue?

[Q] Problem with freezing applications - how to unfreeze/defrost via PC

Hi guys,
Finally decided to bite the bullet and make an account.
Yesterday I bought my first android phone (LG Optimus 2x). Rooted it succesfully today and downloaded Bloat Freezer. I froze several applications successfully, but I think I went a step too far and froze somthing vital. Now my phone will not get past the intial 'StarHub' screen when turning on.
I have tried several things to try and fix this. I have tried unrooting the phone - this has not worked. I have also tried running the NVFlash and this has also yielded no results. I've tried the hard reset (holding volume keys when turning on) however it seems to freeze and nothing tends to happen.
My question therefore is, is it possible to defrost/unfreeze applications via computer?
Any help would be extremely appreciated.
Thanks!
exactly the problem I'm having now....hopefully this could do the trick for me http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1776723
Accidentally froze a system launcher. Not sure how to unfreeze it since i can't launch the app. screen is just blank.

Why is my GS3 doing this ?

ok,30 minutes ago my gs3 was next to me and I had music on then all of a sudden the ''Samsung Galaxy S III" splash screen appeared. It kept appearing and disappearing so I took the battery out for a while then inserted it and it turned on.5 minutes later the same thing happened and now it is working again but well this might happen again. What could be the problem ? can it be SDS ? but I had my gs3 for a year and a half so I doubt that.I'm running wanamlite 4.1.2,have been using this rom for almost a year.(except for trying out a few other roms sometimes).
Reflash your rom, try first without a wipe.

You can try this:-
Go to recovery and do factory reset. (You will loose all software installed by you, may b contact & sms too)
Wipe Cache & Dalvik Cache
Tried a factory reset and tried restoring to a an old backup, didn't help.I didn't try reflashing the rom, I doubt it will work because restoring to a backup that was working fine didn't help either.I'm thinking about giving it to samsung, hope they won't blame rooting and custom rom for the problem but I'm out of warranty period anyways.
Try another rom! But with a clean install! don't restore your nadroid backup data, use Titanium Backup for your apps.
I noticed that it happens when I actually use the phone(like for a few minutes) but when it's idle,it operates normally.
I don't have any other roms right now and I can't download any because my internet is limited currently.
UPDATE: It looks like the problem is the power button because when the phone does boot, the boot menu keeps showing up and when I pull the battery and insert it again,it boots automatically.I will get it fixed, thanks all.

Bricked rooted Galaxy SII without CWM

Hello, let me describe my problem.
Some months ago i rooted my SGSII with stock rom to remove facebook and other unnecessary apps, but I didn't installed CWM. Yesterday I had a small accident. I dropped my phone on the wet floor and two problems occured. Power button didn't work and phone couldn't connect with network. After having dissasemblied and dried it inside, power button started working, but phone still couldn't connect. So I decided to make a full wipe. And here's come my problem. After wipe my Android 4.1.2 is able to go through initialisation process (language selection, wifi password etc.)
but after this it gets stuck and bootloop occur.
I tried to fix the phone using Odin, but after connecting to computer, it shows that device is unknown and Odin don't see it. I also tried to find way to install CWM via stock recovery, but it's propbably not possible.
Please, help me

Finally got my HTC OXE XL+ working again....
Problem was related to Hardware.. might be Touchscreen connectivity was loose or ... some thing else...
Since initially phone was rebooting and touchscreen was not working.. I booted it into safe mode... which was ok except the touchscreen. It was not a software problem but hardware problem..
I completely disassembled the phone. removed every connector. remove the battery and kept it for 10 mins.
There after reassembled and it is working again.....
Thanks ...

Galaxy S9+ G965F Bootloop problem, need help

I woke up with a black screen and unresponsive I soft reset and booted back up just fine, fast forward 2 days, apps are constantly crashing and often seemingly randomly the phone will restart and go into a bootloop anywhere from 1-5 minutes before it finally boots. Sometimes I get lucky and can use my device just fine for a few hours, then apps will crash and stuck back in bootloop.
I have factory reset in recovery, and also flashed latest stock rom via odin, I am new to this and this was my first time I might add, it passed but it hasn't resolved the issue, is there anymore steps with odin or anything else I can do to repair this? The device isn't rooted if that helps.
I think that's a motherboard issue
You could try installing a custom rom
