The notification bar is horrible, i like the stock android one where i can turn off wifi/bluetooth etc - i downloaded an app that tries to emulate these things but its not the real deal.
I already use a custom launcher -how can i replace the notification bar ?

I think root with xposed framework will do. But I dont touch that, because I always semibricked phones with it.
Personally, I only miss the brightness in there. Mine is clean showing only the clock and my push notifications. The stock multitasking feature is full of the Features you want in the notification bar and also customizable. I like the idea as the multitask switching itself on the most roms is very "empty". Just your windows and thats it. In EUI its like a "quickbar"

I liked MiniCM very much, but I can't find a way to increase battery life with that wonderful rom (I tried every trick I found), so I reverted back to stock and modded it a little bit to fit my needs.
I'm really missing two features of MiniCM, and I'd like to know if it could be possible to easily implement them on the stock rom:
1- in the lockscreen I'd like to switch to vibrate mode instead of silent mode
2- I'd like to have all those handy statusbar switches like the ones in MiniCM (to toggle wi-fi, airplane mode, torch, etc.)
Any suggestion?
1. u can use Widget Locker app
2. easy status bar, u can use widgetsoid
both of them is a paid app.. so i can't share them.. sorry.. but u can buy them through market..
Thank you, I found widgetsoid on the market and tried it: it's really nice, but I can't click on the widget if it's put on the status bar, like in MiniCM. Anyway, I've configured a nice home widget with it and I'm happy, althought I'd prefer to have a status bar clickable widget, like the one I used in MiniCM.
Widget Locker is too much for my needs: I just want to slide the "sound" slider (or whatever it's called) in the stock lock screen and switch between sound and vibration, instead of switching between sound and silence: is there a way to do it?
Anyone working on this yet?

Really - these handy pull down toggles (on/off's for wifi, bluetooth etc) have been on every ver of Android since 2.0. Until now - who's brilliant idea was it to remove these?

Toggles in the notification bar have only ever been an OEM add-on, they are not part of stock Android/AOSP.
That said, it's definitely one of the most obvious missing features vs. the RAZR's contemporaries from HTC and Samsung.
My wife's new Pantech Breakout has some nice notification toggles stock! I'd love for something like that for my Razr!

yea, I miss those too. hopefully ICS has something like that in it whenever that comes out.
Available in the Market as always for example via Widgetsoid.
How many times will I have to say that for people to understan, unbelievable.

Well it doesn't work very well maybe that's why...It doesn't work with either of my Motorola phones w/o the popup - and the popup defeats the purpose imo.
Perhaps it works better on other devices idk...
Additionally, a lot of the toggles don't even work...it looks real nice and seems to be very configurable but just doesn't work for me.
Add the Toggleower Contorl widget to have some toggles.
Notification Toggle is working on my RAZR with a few minor glitches and enables customized pull-down toggles. This is a great workaround until ICS.

Try MySettings, works like a charm
Shady's rom has toggles and Im now working on them for my rom also
Widgetsoid seems like a great app with a lot of potential and nice customization features, but on the Razr you can't toggle directly from the notification bar with it. Instead clicking on the toggle icon will popup another window to toggle the setting on or off. That and I haven't been able to change the colors of the toggles in the dropdown so that it's readable.
Notification toggle is the closest I've found. Each toggle takes up a line but you can actually turn the item on or off straight from the dropdown.

Click the Widgetsoid icon, at the bottom of the screen press the notification icon then tick the Use custom style box. Scroll down and you can change the colours

Hi all,
I have put CM10 onto my S3 and while I love it alot, I would really prefer the stock status bar icons and notifications draw with the stock toggles.
I prefer having everything on one draw instead of having to open two. I also liked to see when data was sent via WiFi or 3G on the stock icons.
Does anyone know a way to get this working?
Thanks! :good:
In CM, you can turn off quick tiles. They also have an option to use classic toggles (although I forget what they're called). Just have a look through the menus and it becomes obvious

you can put more shortcuts in the notification bar in CM roms than the stock ones!
Hi,
I'm using a Samsung Homesync. I'm rooted. In this device, the TouchWiz is implemented such that there's no classical tablet UI, but rather a different one. Other Launchers like Nova also work perfectly fine, however, the notification/status bar is implemented differently. You can see the notifications on the top right corner where there's just a number which counts them.
If I launch Nova, since there's no status bar and no special corner as implemented in the stock launcher, there's no notification window.
How can I make this device display the classical tablet or phone status bar, with running application icons, time, notifications, etc. that I can pull up or down to see details?
I tried replacing framework.* files from a Galaxy Tab3 ROM but system never boots if I do so. I also tried just replacing the SystemUI. With modified framework, system doesn't boot. With SystemUI change, it just crashes.
PS. Both roms Android 4.2.2, but different processors. There's no other TW ROM that matches this hardware. Only the Nexus 10 is matching but it's not Touchwiz. I have root but I can't change kernel since it's bootloader locked.

Try a third party statusbar called Super Status Bar. Install like a normal app.
It is not just statusbar strip. It is actual pull down statusbar.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.firezenk.ssb
This supports notifications, toggles etc. (must be installed in internal memory, not on SD Card)
Root access is not required, no custom kernel business.
Shows Date, time, weather, notifications (but does not have swipe to remove), allows shortcut to recent apps.....
Install it to see magical features.
I used it in a ported ROM for my device where I had to freeze stock statusbar because for Force Close.
Press Thanks if helped.
Thanks. However this doesn't take the reserve it's own and take space from Nova but rather part of the launcher goes under it and becomes not visible.

Is there any way to make the notification bar always showing AND fully transparent? It seems like the options available only allow for one or the other.
I would like to know also. It would be a nice feature. Along with transparent nav bar

We tried this a few months ago, however it led to many crashes and bugs. The developers are trying hard to get it back though!
