Are the lib files necessary or not?

libs are important - without it the app will FC.
But do permissions for for folder of libs like other from /system/app or system/priv-app - lib

Aha ... so if no present so I think only apk file is ok...
change name old apk via add ".bak" at the end of name and paste the new form zip folder, next set permission at
rw-r--r-- and restart the phone - if something goes wrong - rename the old apk via delete ".bak" at the end and delete the new apk copied from zip.
You can back to original version of TW.

Also thanks to the devs who created the util's needed to do this mod.
Ok - So I've already modded my framework-res.apk in UOT kitchen so I didn't want to re-do all those mods... and as much as anything else I wanted to be able to do this myself..
Adding the CRT animation to your phone.
You'll need root access
You'll need this APK MANAGER 4.9 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695701 install it somewhere on your PC
You'll need to replace the apktool in the OTHER directory once you've installed apkmanager with the one attached below.
1. Get your framework-res.apk from your phone and put it in the "modding" folder
2. Run apk manager, decompile option 9 [NOT USING DEPENDENCY OPTION]
3. Go into projects\framework-res\res\values\bools.xml [EDIT]
4. Make config_animateScreenLights to false [SAVE and EXIT]
5. Go back to script and select compile option 11.
6. Say y [System app]
7. Say n [don't need to retain anything else]
8. Delete AndroidManifest.xml and Meta-Inf folder from unsignedframework-res.apk
9. Copy and paste AndroidManifest.xml and Meta-Inf folder from original framework-res.apk into unsignframework-res
.......... open the apk files using 7 zip or similar. Do not extract them..
.......... Copy and paste from inside the original apk to inside the new one.
10. You'll find unsignedframework-res.apk in "place-apk-here-for-modding" folder
10a. RENAME IT to framework-res.apk
11. Copy the new framework-res.apk onto your phone in the SYSTEM folder
12. Change the permissions to RW-R--R--
13. Move the file into the FRAMEWORK folder.
Reboot...
Done..
Tested and works on my arc. (Finally!)

noobish question here mate, hope you can help me.
First: After compiling the framework-res.apk, how do you edit and overwrite meta.inf and androidmanifest.xml? and when you use the apk manager, their is no meta.inf folder when decompiling framework-res.apk
2nd: Do you need to rename your unsignedframework-res.apk to framework-res.apk?
just copy and paste the androidmanifest and meta.inf files from your original framework-res.apk into the new one..
and yes - rename it to framework-res.apk

No..open the apk files using 7 zip or similar. Do not extract them..

I've just amended the first post...
you need to rename the unsignedframework-res.apk to framework-res.apk (ie the name of the original file)..
I thought that would have been obvious.. but perhaps not.

maybe from your rom / and you can edit frame work whit winrar zip and dont use front guide
This is not my work..i found it on another site
-Download the .Zip archive wich contains the needed files from

-Extract it to your pc
-Use Root Explorer or something similar
-Copy the three folders from extracted archive on your sd card
-Copy Velvet.apk from the "app" folder to system/app and set the permissions to rw-r--r--
-Copy the lib files from the "lib" folder and paste them to system/lib(set the permissions to every file to rw-r--r--)
-Copy and paste usr/srec from the Google Now Package to system/usr/srec and set the permissions to rw-r--r-- for every file in every folder!
-Reboot and it should work

You don't need to rename the Valvet.apk, just rename GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk to ...bak or remove it
Great but I have a problem: when i say listen to *songname* it starts loading to play but then it restarts and give me a option to play song? Is it possible to autoplay song?

Yeah first do a Backup of the present rom whatever you have, and try taking the files and copying them and fixing the permissions !! It should work

I've found (somewhere, I can't remember where) a zip file with all the files mentioned above. so I installed it on dirty unicorns, wipe cache, dalvik, fix permissions and it works! but it isn't the same keyboard of my old rom, it is samsungkeybord of ICS (quite old..). So I extracted NeatRom zip, but the files I need dont exist! (I extract it on windows and try to "search", so I'm pretty sure there is nothing). In preload/symlink/system/app the only apk that reminds to a keyboard is "SamsungIME.apk" but it refuses to install on KK and pushing it to system/app of the new rom seems to be useless.. Here the zip file and SamsungIME.apk, maybe can be useful.. Some advices? Thank you.
So as the title says, I need the Z2 575 original stock systemui preferably in a flashable zip format
The reason is I recently flashed the Xperia X lockscreen and I want to revert back ( yes I have taken the backup but it's less hassle if someone provides me the systemui.

EDIT : I copied it and changed the permission rwrr but systemUI has stopped.

I just copied the file sysmteui.apk only and I don't know where to copy the other folder.
You can just copy it and overwrite the system so that permission remains r-w-r-r.
or manually check it and make r-w-r-r.

It didn't work and now am ****ed
Have to flash prerooted zip again
UPDATE : Restored my backup and back to stock lockscreen again :whew:
Oh really, should have cleared the cache too.
Anyway its fine now. ☺
