[Basebands|Bootloaders]Marshmallow PE2 - Sprint Note Edge Android Development

I know some of you may be confused as to where to go to get these, but here you are.
I know some of you have come to the conclusion on your own that using Marshmallow firmware (bootloader) PE2 on a Lollipop based ROM, or even AOSP results in WiFi and camera issues. Here are Odin flashable firmwares for you to easily flash between versions.
NOTE: Basebands have no effect on WiFi or camera on Lollipop or AOSP ROMs.
NOTE2: Baseband PE2 and later require Odin 3.11.1.
Lollipop firmware/basebands are everything before PXX:

Want to flash Android 4.3 ROM

Guys I am using Galaxy S3 I9300. I am rooted and currently using a Kitkat ROM. I want to flash a 4.3 based custom ROM. When we downgrade so we have to flash a different radio? If yes then from where can I flash the radio? Thanks in advance.
Regards
Simply flash any Sammy's 4.3 through Odin, you don't need to do anything else unless you have ariza-broken /efs, and I guess you have not.

Guys I don't know whats the confusion here. But again I am explaining my problem. I want to flash revolutionary S5 V3 ROM on my Galaxy S3. Here is the link of the ROM:
forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development/rom-smartdroid-v1-0-t2602543
Now my question is that since this ROM is based on Android 4.3 and I am currently using Dirty Unicorns which is based on Android 4.4.2 so do I have to flash radio in order to use that ROM or I just simply flash that ROM? And if I have to flash radio then please provide me the link from where I can flash it. Hope now you understand.
Simply flash through recovery, no action required.

Hi flashers and Devs! If you have a G920I please READ!!
Hi all, Here is an index of Modems/bootloaders and ROMS and links for the G920I. Also is a quick compatibility matrix which should answer some common questions.
Flash the latest TWRP first!
New Modem and Bootloader COH3 (For the G920I Only) 08/23/2015
COH3 Modem & sBoot combo Link G920I (5.1.1)
Modem and Bootloader OGA (for the G920I Only) 08/21/2015

OF8 Bootloader G920I (5.1.1)
ROMS
XtreStoLite 2.0 (5.1.1) install guide here: (link to the OP guide) Flash the modems I uploaded here as they are the latest, and are 100% compatible with the ROM the OP not updated the thread with the latest yet.
G920IDVU2COF8 India 5.1.1 100% STOCK ROM If you flash via odin, it will be unrooted, and have 5.1.1 Bootloader + modem, and make all previous 5.0.2 Roms unbootable. Do not flash unless this is your intent. If somebody can mirror from Sammobile it would be greatly appreciated. My upload is too slow and unstable on ADSL2.

Compatibility matrix5.0.2 Bootloader: Boots XtreStoLite 1.5. Boots XtreStoLite 2.0 ONLY if fingerprint feature is NOT installed.
5.1.1 Bootloader: Does NOT boot XtreStoLite 1.5 or any other 5.0.2 ROM. Boots XtreStoLite 2.0 with full functionality.
IF YOU FLASH 5.1.1 BOOTLOADER YOU CANNOT EVER FLASH ANY 5.0.2 ROM AGAIN OR GO BACK TO OLD BOOTLOADER.If you want to "test" the new ROM, flash it without the fingerprint function first before updating bootloader.

3. Flash bootloader and modem.
4. Then use TWRP to install Rom full wipe. .
5. Don't reboot yet. Flash simplkernel.

but if you don't flash 5.1.1 stock rom with 5.1.1 bootloader, the 5.1.1 rom which were made for g920f might not support fingerprint.so,if you want to use XtreStroLite,a 5.1.1 bootloader is essential

True, I am going to add the bootloader shortly. Then you should be able to use the fingerprint feature without an issue.

At first when it was released it didn't. Then a few people discovered removing the fingerprint functionality allowed it to boot on G920I on old bootloader. Just this week the official bootloader/modem was released for the G920I making it fully compatible.
I have the 920I, and I want to install XtreStoLite Odex Pure Edition 2.0, I'm on Indian 5.1.1. How should I do it? First, install UniKernel (Flashing the tar file on AP/PDA), then flashing the TWRP, and then flashing the rom in recovery? When should I install the modem and bootloader if I already flashed the 5.1.1 full fw? Will the rom fully work on 920I? Thanks in advance
To flash modem and bootloader only need folllw edgarf28 guide? I already in 5.1.1 with old bootloader
Would these work on 920F?
Sent from my SM-G920F using XDA Free mobile app
modem not is tar.md5 file, is that right???
edit modem dont work, cm.bin is missing
If I flash the 5.1.1 bootloader will recovery still be installed, and I'd be then able to flash xtrestolite 2.0?

The modem is. Bin format u can flash it without the cm file. Yes u need to update to the latest version of twrp to run 5.1.1. Before flashing the bootloader.

Hello. I have a G920F with the poor signal issue. Im wondering if it will be ok to flash this new modem as it uses the same basebands as the ones I use on my G920F. 4G 1800/2300, 3G 2100, 2G 900/1800. I cant see any problems but thought I would just check.
Can I flash latest 0f8 modem on the old boot loader?
Sent from my SM-G920I using XDA Premium HD app
Repacked in .tar.md5 format (thanks @solrazr)
bootloader.tar.md5 http://d-h.st/xkNu
modem.tar.md5 http://d-h.st/EwqK
My installation method:
1. flash rom (I use XtreStoLite Odex Pure Edition 2.0 with keep app and data settings i.e. no data wiping)
2. flash rom addon (if any)
3. flash custom kernel (if any)
3. reboot to bootloader/download mode
4. flash bootloader and modem
5. reboot
So I'm on 5.0.2 at the moment. No matter what bootloader & modem I flash nothing seems to flash successfully. If I flash 5.1.1 ROM first, will that allow me to flash via Odin?
Gosh I'm having all sorts of annoying issues with Odin not working at the moment! Thanks.
Hello i have 920I with android 5.0.2 rooted with pingpong root and knox not tripped.
Im thinking to update to 5.1.1 using smartswitch, and then rooting the stock rom.
Is there a procedure on how to do this as i have been confused because each thread gives a different method.
Also would i need to flash bootloaders modems etc... after the update.
Thank you

HELP: Soft (hopefully brick) after trying to install the latest OS.

I would really appreciate assistance.
I followed the steps in http://forum.xda-developers.com/xper...8-pre-t3205929 and my phone will not start.
I don't currently have the ability to try flashing an FTF but I will be attempting to do so once I get home from work - I will try flashing https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347818113.
Prior to having this issue, I had a fully rooted 5.0.2 that was fully functional.
Will I need to first install Kitkat to root my phone or will I be able to flash the FTF and keep the existing root? I could follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/xper...5-0-2-t3094094 instead?
If someone could give me a quick guide as to what I need to do at this point to have fully functional root again, I would really appreciate it.
Unlocked or locked bootloader?
Locked.
I just had exactly the same problem with the same rom - really a waste of time. Ended up downloading through Xperifirm and building both 4.4.4 and 5.1.1 roms myself. Wasted a lots of time restoring lost data also.
You have to go back to Kit Kat, install dual recovery then flash the latest prerooted Lollipop. Just use the more tested roms for C6833 if you can't build one yourself.
---------- Post added at 01:10 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:05 PM ----------
You can also just flash the stock ftf without having to wipe all the data, in order to back up or recover everything you want.

Can you show the step of solving this problem.
There's already thread with detailed guide for rooting 5.0.2 (in the OP also):forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z-ultra/general/guide-root-z-ultra-stock-lollipop-5-0-2-t3094094.
There's also a better instruction here: techbeasts.com/2015/04/18/root-xperia-z-ultra-c6802-c6833-c6806-14-5-a-0-242-5-0-2-lollipop-firmware/
For rooting 4.4.4, just install the NUT's dualrecovery which will root it, no need for a separate step. For 5.1.1, if you want to build the flashable zip, get the ftf from the androidhost link above, or use Xperifirm.
So here are the steps:
.Download the 4.4.4 ftf (for C6833 will work) and flash it using flashtool.
.Install dualrecovery using the install.bat.
.Get a tested prerooted zip for 5.1.1 and flash in TWRP.
.Or download stock 5.1.1 ftf to build a prerooted flashable zip with PRFCreator then flash in TWRP.
Good luck.
tnthd2 is correct, you have to follow the instructions exactly.
it took me two goes flashing the 5.1.1. prerooted .zip and then the FTF, the first time I got a boot loop.

You can find it in s4 i9505 android developpement.and be careful because you must have a rooted safestraped and lollipop on your s4
Did you have to modify the apn settings for it to work with Verizon?
No just flash oc1 stock kernel after you flashed the rom
anyone try it with flashfire?
would odining back to nc5, rooting, installing safestrap, and then flashing this rom and the requisite zips be a good install plan when coming from a OF1 rom (NK4 bootloader).
Brian
I ve flashed this rom on a oc1 rooted with nc5 bootloader.offcorse with safestrap

That will work but you will need to flash the OC1 firmware also.
You can get the firmware only zip from here
So you would only flash firmware, rom, then OC1 kernel.zip.
Does everything seem to be pretty stable @metallover33 ?
I'm hoping to have time to try it sometime soon, just not sure when.
Thanks.
yeah I figured id have to flash that... thats partially what i meant by "requisite zips" as detailed out in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63027724&postcount=6375 though this guy did the gigilie safestrap method. im not sure if the wifi fix zip takes care of some of the firmware stuff.
now I'm curious if i could just wipe, then flash the firmware, the rom and then the kernel in flashfire.
id like to not have to do a full kitkat wipe.
any reason you say flash the firmware first before flashing the rom?
thanks
Brian
No reason.
The only thing with flashfire though is you need to open the rom.zip and remove the boot.img so you don't flash a kernel that isn't for our phone.
It's always good to know what's in the rom.zip before flashing anyways
hmmm. is that's all that's contained in the boot.img? I know enough to stay out of trouble..... most of the time.
Brian
The boot.img is the kernel... I haven't looked in it myself but I think that's all there is that needs removed.
I have a friend that can check for me though.
yeah if they could take a peek that would be much appreciated. id like to give this a go in flashfire.
thanks
Brian
Open the zip with 7zip and delete boot.img.
Then go into the meta folder all the way in is the updater-script.
You need to replace it the one in the link.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/h3ymkighoznqq49/updater-script?dl=0
Then it should work with flashfire.
Not 100% sure but should.
Let us know how it goes.
Make sure to flash all 3 zips.
Also make sure you know how to recover using Odin.
ok. deleted boot.img and deleted updater-script and copied in the replacement.
yeah i have my nc5 full wipe recovery tar and pit file
I hope someone can make a custom oc1 based kernel .it would be great
Can only be done for mdk users.
Ss and ff users cannot have custom kernels even if it's based on stock.
ok here goes........ flashing now.
---------- Post added at 11:04 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:42 PM ----------
it booted. wifi doesnt work. ill have to install flashfire from the sd and flash the wifi fix.
i also dont see a 4g icon but i have bars...... but im not online.
I'm working on making a modified version with our apn config and wifi modules.
Flash oc1 wifi modules. I have them in my afh account just search my username.

Galaxy S6 Edge SM-G925F won't take stock rom

hi there so I have a small problem I have a galaxy s6 edge here international version unlocked that won't take any other rom apart from the rom in which I have it running... A Little Background ... the phone itself had a message saying it failed its last update so I downloaded kies and the other new recovery programme non of them would help repair the problem so I downloaded the stock rom and tried to flash via odin and all I get is a fail. it cannot find correct directories . so I then used odin to flash twrp which worked a treat and I downloaded a few roms . one of which worked all others did not ( all got stuck in a boot loop ) so I used a little trick I have used before and changed from ext4 to fat and then back again now this should have replaced all directories again ... however every rom apart from nemesis rom gets stuck in boot loop and odin still fails to flash stock rom ? ..

same issue on my g925i. some.roms are not done properly. i found 2 that work, rest dont. starting to think the sony xperia is a better phone. samsung is to secured
Stock roms are tricky to find esp. with that device-binary error. Just make sure you pick the correct/related country, device model and android version..
Some roms like Nemesis include their own boot, modem etc. that's why it works, but some don't. I once flashed a stock rom but afterwards I had no imei/modem/signal so the only thing I did was flash all custom roms that I had (NNE, Nemesis, etc) just to replace everything that the stock have put in. After that, downloaded stock firmwares again around 3-5x until I got the correct one (and yes, stock firmwares took hours for me to download).
If you flash MM stock, put in twrp and flash a working custom MM rom, then flash stock through odin. Same goes with Nougat, like flash Nemesis first through twrp then flash stock through odin..
-- this is what I do and I think there are better alternatives to these.
