Problem with link2SD not mounting 2nd partition - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

1st than anything.... Thanks to everyone that helped me to solve past issues here on XDA, such as rainbowlaw and Qwerty.
Well... The thing is... When using link2sd, it worked well for a month. But one day my apps suddenly disappeared... Or shows a generic Android icon placeholder where shoulda be the app. If I click it, it says that the app is not installed. When I open link2sd, it says that the second partition wasn't mounted after boot, and shows a dialog saying that I shoulda recreate mounting scripts. When I try to do it, and I select the system file type, it says: error. Cannot create script. Invalid argument. So... What I can do now? [emoji53]
The device is a Philips s388 dual sim running cyanogenmod 12.1 based on lollipop 5.1. I had to partition the SD card, cuz the internal space for apps is not big enough. Also, I've never faced this issue before.

odd folder sucking up all my storage space

I recently flashed cm10.1 on my GS3 and now I've got all my internal storage stuck in the storage/emulated/0/android/obb or storage/emulated/legacy/android/obb locations. Under settings it shows total space 12.05gb, available is 668mb but less than 1/4 of the visual bar is full and accounted for. Sd maid is showing the obb folder is holding 11.39gb but no matter what explorers I use it always appears empty. Anyone know how to free up this spae? I can't find anything anywhere about this. Thank you ion advance.
Edit:
Restoring it doesn't free the space up at all. Even tried restoring my backups and the space remains full.

This is happening to me on my Nexus 4, no solution found yet
Same problem
I'm currently having this problem and used the SD Maid app and it says the exact same thing. Did anyone ever find a solution?
Only thing that worked was formatting the internal memory. A restore won't do it, must be a fill format. Feels great to have the space back.
that's because of the previous firmware's data saved on your phones. just perform a full emmc(only internal memory) wipe.
The answer is in my signature. No need to wipe anything

I just did what you said in your thread and it deleted everything on my internal SD Card...
Edit: Although I lost some stuff, it did fix my problem...

No it didn't. If you deleted eveything on your internal sdcard you did not do what I said in my thread
Can you provide me the link to it? I failed to find your solution in your signature....

[Q] Help with CYANOGENMOD 11

Hello guys. Well I recently upgraded my P760 to CYANOGENMOD 11 by Artas but I have a problem. When I try to access external_sd the explorer doesn´t recognize the external_sd neither as SD0 or SD1. I don´t know much about this stuff and maybe I didn´t expressed myself clearly so here´s some screenshots:

Try /storage/sdcard1 or /extSdCard
yeah but why doesn't the explorer recognize the external_sd in the upper menu ??
There's another thing....when I try to unninstall system apps with titanium backup it says " couldn't found the apk "..guess it's from the same problem

You'll have to take that up with the devs for Es File Explorer. Google made some weird changes in the way Android does some things.
Use Es File Explorer to uninstall system apps instead. I haven't tried with KitKat but it's never failed on any other version of Android.

[How To] Fix " No SDcard & AOSP camera Fix" easy Solution for all cm11 based roms !!!

[How To] Fix " No SDcard & AOSP camera Fix" easy Solution for all cm11 based roms !!!
Hi Mates,
Trying to Update my daughter's Ace 2 (I8160), from 4.4.3 to 4.4.4, I found that there is no more access to the External SDcard, and that a Lot off Apps Start Showing the " No SDcard inserted " message: Gallery, Backup Titanium, Camera Apps, and even wortst, the AOSP Camera simply doesn't work, so we will have to install an alternative app (ie. google camera...), but then again, they end up by giving the same Error message.

After searching all related threads, I couldn't find any solution (forget about the SDFIX, SD Fixer... on the Play Store), they used to work, but not now.
So, Here the very easy Solution, I finally did find out myself:
What you need (you might already have it!):

Click to collapse
At least an 8 G° External Sdcard Storage, a class 4 sdcard is good, but a class 10 or faster, will be a better choice to have a faster system.
Insert your scard, Format it (Fat32 is good, If you are planning to read it on your Pcs using a card reader).
Click to collapse
1- Open NovaThor Settings;
2-Click on Advanced;
3-In the first section (Storage), Tick on the "swap Storage" case.
This will not affect the speed of your phone, because the files system will still be on the "real internal Storage", and all the data stuff will be on the "new internal storage", wich is our external Scard, that's why I said better to grub a class 10 one, and do your self a fever by buying a 16G° or a 32G°, a Guenine good tradmark, is also adviced.
4-Wait for the operation to be done, and then Reboot when it ask for.
Ooops!!!, not only "The annoying message" is gone, you now have larger internal storage capacity, and the CM11 Camera working too!!!
Click to collapse
And Voilà, It's all done.
I hope this will help a bunch of people that are lost between threads, seeking for a solution.
Thanks for Pressing my Thanx Button, It doesn't Hurt.

Sd Card write premission in Androd6?

I have been checking all android 6 rom, but i was unable to (fully) set write premission to sd Card,
For 5.1 i used XinternalSD (xposed module) ,HandleExternalStorage(xposed module)
To fully set write permission to sd Card and i can select which apps saves data on sdcard.
But in android 6 ,none of the module worked, apps like app backup restore are unable to get write premission to sd card.
Just wanted to know , is there a way to fully set write premission to sd card for the selected app and save there data on sdcard. Like (appbackuprestore, whatsapp, titanium backup, etc).
If there a way then explain briefly, becoz i want to know it , so that i could use android6.
Update-->>> Fixed with new XinternalSD and Marshmallow SD Fix. Modules!!
It can be fixed, but how??
Temasek ROM has fixed the issue, it shows sdcard1 instead of A29A-1EFC...
And also there is no permission error faced!!
Rest all android6 ROMs I have tried haven't been able to do so!
So anyone out there know how was temasek able to fix this (bug?).
I'm wondering the same...

I'm sorry tagged you here @dgadelha
This is what i mean that titanium backup can fully access sdcard (rewritable) by default in your Temasek build.

Green folder
And sdcard shows as sdcard1..
But i still dont know, where /what are the different from other ROMs?
system/etc/permission/platform.xml or data/system/packages.xml?

Search before posting. (also, I just saw that the answer was for a question you previously asked, and now you're asking again)

You need to do this because Marshmallow blocked the direct SD-write permission for third-party apps.

(Temasek may have allowed this manually in code)
Anything found by anyone?
I found this-> http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/fix-extsd-fix-v1-0b-2016-01-18-t3296266
It didn't work for me on sultans ROM.
But seems like the person is working on it!.

Cant take full backup from TWRP

Hi, I have mate 10 lite: RNE-L21C185B142 with Nougat
I have flashed various TWRP files to get a full backup, but all fail at data, check the following screenshot
createTarkFork() process ended with ERROR: 255

I have used an external hard drive as the OTG storage when I tried backup, and also tried another time
with a 32 GB SD card but both show same error at same point. There is no addon.d in my system folder
and also I have tried with enabling/disabling compression when taking backup. And I did unchecked data partition
from Mount in TWRP.
When I go to reboot it shows another error at the end of above screenshot in red color:
E:Error making /data/app/me.twrp.twrpapp-1 directory: permission denied
I have attached both recovery logs. Please suggest what shall I do
It's because of encrypted data, you have to untick data
It also happened to me. It was the twin app's fault. I deactivated it and now it does not give me this error.

Answer already given... It's because of encrypted data...
For details you can look at this post...

Remember... Make always a backup of your important datas from internal storage to an external SD Card or to your PC
