I have a chines replica of samsung S3. when I connect it to the PC I find under device manager two ports listed:
MTK USB debug port
MTK USB modem port
The ADB driver doesnt show in Device manager even though it is installed and used by other phones.
What programs can communicate with this phone especially to root it since the usual SP flash tool and MTKdroid tools require ADP driver and cant find this phone?

im trying to flash the ROM on my huawei p7 clone using sp tool, but when i connect the phone, pc doesn't recognized it at all, is unknown device on device manager, i already installed the vcom and preloader drivers via add legacy hardware, but then unknown device still there, tried meta mode and no sucess, help please
I am trying to root my old phone Samsung Galaxy core prime G360h so that I can gain some confidence to change the stock rom of my main device. When the phone is on, adb works perfectly and recognise the device. I can even reboot device when the phone is unlocked. But once I go into Fastboot/Recovery mode then ADB fails to find the device and no commands work(.To the best of my knowledge, I have all the necessary drivers. I have tried multiple USB slots, multiple computers (Windows 7 sp1 and Windows 10 latest update), and have searched all around the internet and various forums on XDA for an answer. I've tried manually updating the USB drivers through device manager, installed universal usb driver, but that did nothing. What I don't understand is that how ADB works when the device is on but don't work when it's in Recovery/Fastboot mode. I would have post images to clear things but the site is not letti g me to post imaves
tldr: adb recognize phone when it's on but Adb don't work in fastboot/recovery mode
Thanks in advance for any help, I've tried everything I can think of.
On MediaTek devices you need Preloader VCom Driver so your PC would detect your phone on fastboot but on Qualcomm ( which is your phone chipset ) i don't know what driver is required ...
I'm trying to install stock rom to Lenovo a2016a40 (Lenovo B). After I connect phone to my system using volume down key preloder appears in device manager but after few seconds it disconnects from pc. I have tried to install via SP flash tool but it fails and gives error.
I have tried to update all mediatek drivers , changed port and cables but still I'm facing that issue , please help with this issue.
@sangram200
AFAIK Lenovo Vibe B is based on Mediatek chipset, hence SP Flash Tool seems to be the correct one.
It just disappeared from Device manager on PC
It simply disconnects from pc after few seconds ( disappeared from device manager), hense SP tool fails there is no issue with flash tool , its the connectivity issue but I don't understand why it disconnects from PC ,I have tried to update drivers and changed cables and switched ports but still having same issue.
@sangram200
I'm pretty sure you haven't installed the correct USB-drivers as needed, for example the MediaTek MT65xx USB VCOM Driver: this USB Driver will make sure that your MediaTek Android device is properly recognized by your PC, it ensures that there will be no hiccups while you are trying to flash a custom ROM or when you are trying to root your device.
Hi ,can anyone tell me what is difference between Mediatek(MTK) Usb Vcom drivers & CDC drivers.Both seem to have the same functions,flashing firmware,transfer files etc.
And why the need to install both drivers in Mediatek powered Android devices.
The
USB VCOM Driver is used to transfer files between phone and computer
and the
CDC Driver is used to get IMEI write tools like Maui or Modem Meta to detect your device in Meta Mode.
BTW:
Both drivers are to be installed on computer and NOT on Android device.
