Is there an app for this?
I might soon be getting a lot of old HTC One S phones and was thinking about making them into a 360 camera for photos and videos (8-12 phones).
Does anything exist that would allow me to take a photo at the same time on them all from my phone or a Bluetooth device and also start recording video?
Thanks

Possible to Capture pictures while shooting video?
Maybe need a new rom for this function..
I don't think you can do so directly, it requires specific hardware (as in the HTC One X) but there is an app made by Sony called Frame Grabber in the Play Store which can retrospectively clip stills from video and it works incredibly well.
I don't know if it is hardware specific. The Galaxy S 1 can do it in the newest firmware so it could be a software feature.
When you take a clip out of the video, solution is lower than normal picutre.
Hopefully it can be added in by software fix.
I just got my new galaxy note (i717) on friday (immediately flashing it with OnlyOne beta 2 (ics)) and I would like to use it for a bit of podcasting using the front camera to record myself while I read text from some teleprompter software.
I can record video from the front camera just fine, and it actually comes out a bit higher quality than I expected even, but for the life of me, when i hit the record button and then switch away from the camera app to the prompter app, it gives me an audio notification that the camera has stopped recording.
is there prompter software that has an integrated video recorder? (that'd be pretty sweet imho) or better, some way to record video while another app (that's not particularly resource intensive) is in use? - I don't mind trimming and cutting the video together (there are actually some pretty decent editing tools for android i've found) but I can't figure out a way to record and prompt at the same time...
does anybody have any ideas?
I'm rather surprised that nobody seems to have any ideas on this... could someone at least please relay to me why this isn't possible (if it's not possible)?
I would think that this would be a reasonably popular thing to do (recording video whilst looking at a prompter or even a web page or something to do podcasting stuff...
Is this something I'm going to have to write? (I have no idea how to dev android apps).
well i'm glad to see that google does a good job at finding appropriate threads - here it is, a couple of months later, and I'm revisiting the same problem that I had before - I still can't record and prompt at the same time on my i717 (now running cm9 / cm10, not that it should matter)... I still don't get it.
i don't know what to say , u searched a program on google?i believe that is here at least 1 program for your note
Video app with built in teleprompter
There is a great teleprompter/video recording app. It's called VRT2. Unfortunately you would have to downgrade to an iPad to get it. When I saw it, I was tempted o make the switch, but I don't want to give up the advanced features of my Samsung Note 10.
I'm hoping that a great Android app developer will create something like the VRT2 soon.
When it's ready, I'm ready to buy it.
I still can't seem to find anything that does this and it would be *great* for quick video podcasting... I just want to be able to record myself on the front camera while either reading my notes or looking at a teleprompter with the outline i've created for the segment.
Video recorder teleprompter
Have you found any other software to video you with front facing camera with teleprompter on screen?
I know Ipad have one on itunes costing somewhere 24 dollars or £18 which is a professional one, not tried it but I now it does record you and at the same time has all the words you want to talk about in front of you.
Keep up to date, I don't know which tablet to buy because of this problem.

I use CameraZOOM in my phone as my primary camera app. Sadly, on the TS, it crashes frequently, so I can't use it there. The stock camera app doesn't crash, but it fails to save pics randomly (?)
What 3rd party cameras are you guys using? I dont need high-end features, just a quick snapshot that I can later sync using dropbox. Any recommendation would be appreciated.
Was trying a lot of different camera apps in order to try to compensate for the extremely dissatisfying image quality I get from my TS (are all units crap or might there be a problem with the sensor/wiring on my particular unit).
Anyways, settled for camera 360 for the time being. Allows for correct rotation in the viewfinder (you have to rotate the final image after shooting though) - and it gives me a chance to hide the crappy quality behind loads of effects...

Is there a way to record front & rear cameras simultaneously for longer than 3 secs.?
I can't do this on lollipop currently, as it only allows pictures and videos for 3 seconds when using the multi camera mode. But the g4 can do it for longer than a few seconds, right?...and idk about the g5...but why cant our v10? it was made for content creation so that's really perplexing why I can't do it. I know snap mode allows 60 seconds but I want it to be continous and storage to be the only thing that stops it from recording, not a predetermined time limit, like any other time I'm recording video. did the marshmallow update fix/add this feature? is there another way to do it? an app maybe? I am rooted, if that helps. haven't updated to marshmallow but if this has been added back, that's be great news for me as I really need this feature. i might have to go buy a g4 to get it, though.
I was looking for this app for a while, i didn't find anything in google play...I only found camera app from NOKIA8,but this function is not working...app just crashes. I was surprised that all samsung users HAD this function long time ago, and it was working perfect..I am talking about dual camera photo/video recording. For example I am shooting video with main camera, and then im switching to front camera to show my self and people around.. THis was in stock camera in GALAXY NOTE 3.. You can see in youtube how it was working if you copy and paste this in a search window -> Видео/Как снимать одновременно передней и задней камерами <-
You could run 3 modes: shooting in both cameras in same time(''Bothie''), switching between them any time during the video from front cam to back cam, or puting front camera in a small square..while main camera working..
Why we don't have this function now??? is it possible somehow to run on s10 this old app from NOte 3? I was trying to run it.. but it was crashing..
Or do we have some another app? or may be someone can remake this app from NOte 3? It's a really nice feature to switch between cameras while you are recording video(for blogers or adventure trips where you need to show everything).. and i don't understand why no apps in play store and why Samsung didn't make it for new phones? You can also see similar function when you doing video calls in WATSAPP, you can also switch between cameras in a real time..I would even buy this app if someone could remake an old app from note 3
